Does .swf file have to be in same folder as the .htm file that it is embedded in?

I'm experiencing something odd that does not seem right. I am trying to embed an .swf file on a web page. I have the player file in a separate resource folder from the other files. In the object tags data attribute value, I am able to have the .swf file be in another folder. However, in the <param name="movie" value attribute, I am not. Can anyone tell me why?

< param name="movie" value="player_flv_maxi.swf" /> this works if I put a copy of the .swf file in the same folder as the .htm file (but I don't want to)
but this does not work if I put the .swl file in the a folder one level up (which I want to):

I copied the value from data attribute value and pasted it into the value attribute value...

[CS3] [JS] Export PDF to the same folder as the InDesign file

Hi,
I have written a JavaScript to export an InDesign file to a PDF file.
The exporting works fine when exporting to a specific folder, but I want the script to export the PDF to the SAME folder as the InDesign file.
For example, if the Indesign file is in a folder called "Owner's Manuals", I want the script to save the PDF into the same "Owner's Manuals" folder.
At the moment I have:
var myFolder = Folder.selectDialog ('Choose a Folder');
but this dialog defaults to the Desktop every time, forcing me to click 6-7 times to locate the relevant folder where I want the PDF to be saved, which is a waste of time.
I want the script to do something like the following:
"Find out the location of this InDesign file, and export the PDF to the same folder"
I have searched this forum, as well as the Scripting Reference, but without any luck.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Instead I used

Here I think u made mistake in "pdfPreset " passing argument...
I used Sample -> PDF Preset name, but u passing PDF Preset is directly [Press Quality]... thats all.
Then how come u say this script is not working....like that?.
I used this script in my Projects U know?.
Please try to reveal and check throughly after that U say the word "Thanks for your suggestion, but it did not work."

How to have projectname_edge.js in a subfolder? (not in the same folder as the project file)

Is it possible to have the file projectname_edge.js in a subfolder? Not in the same folder with projectname.html.
It seems that edge.5.0.1.min.js looks for dependencies only in the same place as the main file of the project. Moving projectname_edge.js to other folder (js, script, etc) causes the animation not to run. Can I store it in different folder? I would like to put it into "Content" or "Scripts" folder on the server.
I am trying to integrate edge animation into ASP.NET MVC application, and I do not have any index.html file. I am inserting the  section into the view (the .cshtml file stored in subfolder). Having the projectname_edge.js in the main server path require to deal with security settings, so I would like to put it in 'Scripts'.
I found the video showing the solution for the older API: http://www.edgedocks.com/content/edge-animate-publish-files-and-js-folder but it is no longer valid with Edge 5.0 API
Any ideas how to achieve this?

Additionaly having runtime projectname_edge.js in htmlroot in ASP.NET MVC website, is slowing down the animation show up. Now (with subfolder) it working fast and fluid

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

Trying to convert R3D to mov but have the converted file placed in the same folder as the source R3D file.

Had a quick search and couldn't find an answer to this so asking the question :-)
It looks like i'm going to have to use Premier Pro to convert all my R3D files to mov because *Another Piece of Software ;-)* just doesn't recognise them :-/
I know i can import the R3D files into Premier and then export then as mov which is fine but the problem is in the export window theres no option to place the exported file into the same folder as the original R3D file, there is only the option of choosing a folder which, doesn't pre-designate itself to be the original files folder for some reason.
I have 100s of R3D files to convert to mov and having to find and choose the correct folder for each of them individually would be an incredible pain.

Wow ... just checked through PrPro myself and queued out to AME, and even went into Prelude to try a transcode. You're right, you have to specify a location, or have one in the preset group ... but it has to be a specific one, there's no option for "original folder".
I'd suggest a wish be placed on this, as there's times I'd want to use it also.

I believe that you can keep the files in different folders
provided that they are in the help "search path". The following is
from Microsoft's WinHelp Author's Guide:

Reading a file in the same directory as the JSP files

Okay so I have my JSP files in the directory $Catalina/webapps/webservices, I also have a text fire in the same directory called users.txt
All I want to do is open the users.txt from the JSP program and read from it. But JSP can't seem to find the users.txt.
Code I have tried include,
File users = new File("users.txt");
File users = new File("http://localhost:8080/webservcies/users.txt"); Also File users = new File(new URI ("http://localhost:8080/webservcies/users.txt"));
File users = new File("webservices/users.txt");
I guess part of the problem is that I don't know what the JSP working directory is. I assumed it was $Cataline/work/standalone/localhost/webservices
but even if I use,
File users = new File("../../../../webapps/webservices/users.txt");
It doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can read the file? Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

From within a JSP you have a reference to a PageContext called pageContext. This has a method getServletContext(). From the ServletContext you can find the real path the servlet lives in. So...
File basePath = new File(pageContext.getServletContext().getRealPath("/"));Now basePath contains your path $Catalina/webapps/webservices. Then it's just a matter of working relative to that, e.g.:

Cyndi6858, help is here! We'd be happy to help figure this out. Just to be sure though, the Droid Maxx should not have an SD card. Is this the Droid Razr Maxx? How did you add the music to the device? Are you able to see the files and folders located on the SD card or device when plugged in?

My Mac has 4 mail accounts coming into it, but you are correct, one of them is a POP account, (and unfortunately it is the main @ account, and is the one associated with my apple id, since we've had it for years). I couldn't figure out how to replace this with the Imap version, short of deleting that account entirely.
Is this what I have to do?

Tif files will not import with the same filenames as the .nef files

When I work on a .nef file, say x.nef, Lightroom 1.0 will allow me to export the x.nef as x.tif to the same folder as the x.nef file resides, but obviously I need to import the x.tif file into the folder for it to show up in LR When I try to import the x.tif file into LR it shows up the the file list OK. When select it and try to import it I get a message telling me that I can't import it as the file x.nef already exists. I didn't select x.nef but x.tif. It will allow me to import it into a different folder, but that is not what I want to do. i need the keep the relevant net and tif files with the same name in the same folder.
Adobe tech. support suggested; reinstalling, trashing the LR preferences folder, making new databases. None of these solved the problem. In LR beta 4 I could save import tif files with the same file name the .nef with no problem, but not in LR1.0.
Using Win XP Pro SP2. Pentium P4 3.0 with 2gig ram.
Has anyone else had this problem. Any assistance appreciated.

I agree (Adobe) that first the concept that michael.nef and michael.tif and michael.jpg are different files needs to be changed.
A duplicate is a file that has the same filename and extension and the same content measurements.
Under the above concept or any concept, ignore duplicates should bring in any file to LR with the same name (contents and measurements) and different extensions.
I do edit in NEF (more now if I use LR instead of PSE5), do save to PSD, and do save to L/F JPG. If I had to layer in PSD, then I use that for printing, otherwise LR. I always have to make large jpgs to upload to web printing sites, and even small jpgs (now we have the same name and extension (but the measurements would be different) to email. Yes, we do keep copies of an image. I can see where I might want to have the edited .NEF and the PSD in the lib to view, cuz they may have different edits on them.

This happens to me all the time.
If is a one page PDF it seems as though it comes over already open and inline in the body of the email. Multiple page PDF files show as the PDF icon.
I can't find any official documentation of this - other than based on my own experience with PDF attachments in my various email accounts.

Out of habit, I tend to combine PDF files in the Page Thumbnails pane by right-click then "Insert Pages" -> "From File". For me, this preserves the tags from both documents, although the tags may have to be moved into the right location (if I recall correctly the tags for the inserted pages get put at the end of the tag structure, regardless of where the pages are inserted), If I first put the tags for the document to be inserted inside a container tag like Section, it makes the process easier. Moving that set of tags to the right place is the only re-fixing that I recall having to do. What behavior are you experiencing?

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.
