Does the graphic card IBM GXT6500P fit in the PwrMac G5 ?

I want to know if the operating system (Snow Leopard) will work correctly with the "graphic card GXT6500P of IBM" in the PCI-X connector.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I highly doubt that it will work. That graphic isn't installed in any Intel-based Mac, and Snow Leopard is an Intel-only OS X version, so it won't work

  • What is the best graphics card that can fit in the hp p7-1003w?

The card that came with my CPU. the ATI Radeon HD 4200 is too weak to run the demanding games such as Arma 2, so I need a good graphics card that would fit and balance my motherboard, so the videocard and the graphics card could keep up with one another.

    CHHeinrich, welcome to the forum.
Before you can upgrade the video, you will have to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU).  The existing PSU is only 250W.  The newer mid-level video cards require a minimum of 400W to run properly.  I normally recommend at least 500W.  This will allow for some future upgrades.  I like Corsair and OCZ PSU's.  Here is a PSU that will work.  I suggest measuring the existing PSU and comparing the measurements to the one that you choose.
Now, you can't use integrated video when a dedicated video card is installed.  So, you don't have to worry about one keeping up with the other.  I like XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  Here is a video card that should give you a good performance boost.  You should stay under 9" in length to assure that the card fits into the space provided.  Always read the Customer Reviews on any products that you buy to see what the users have to say about them.
If you decide not to go with my recommendations, these two components will give you a good idea of what you need.

  • G3 B & W Graphics cards - can I fit ADC/DVI?

    Ey up all,
Have just been given a trusted but old G3 350 B&W by my boss (for free!!) so I thought it would make a nice machine to use as a basic Photoshop/scanning machine for the missus to do her artwork on.
It's got 1gb of RAM and a newish 60GB Seagate 7200rpm HD so has all the bits I need. However, the graphics card is the original ATI 16mb with a VGA connector. Can I actually fit a newer card from a vendor like ATI that carries ADC or DVI, so I can use something like the classic 17" Apple LCD Studio Display (M7649)? There are loads of these displays floating about on ebay for a good price. If I can do this, it means I don't have to go for one of the matching blueberry CRT displays that take up a bit too much room on a desk.
I know I could go for a third-party TFT from the likes of Dell or ACER but being a typical machead, I like to keep it Apple all the way!!
Any suggestions are more than welcome and if you can put me on the right track price-wise, that'll be great.
    Pat

Unless you really want an ADC-based Apple LCD Display, I'd go for an LCD display that uses a VGA or DVI port. There are plenty of them available today, and new ones are not extremely expensive. The ADC connection provides the video signal and power to the display. Using an adapter to connect the Apple display's ADC connector to a DVI port doesn't provide the necessary power for the display. The B&W G3 has a dedicated 66 MHz PCI slot for a graphics card, but doesn't have a power supply with a lot of output (by today's standards). If you were to install a newer Mac-compatible Radeon with a DVI port to use an ADC display, you'd need Apple's adapter, to power the display. If you want to use a widescreen display, be sure that the display card supports its optimal resolution at the 16:9 aspect ratio. The original Radeon Mac Edition and Radeon 7000 Mac Edition featured VGA and DVI ports, as well as 32 MBs of DDR memory. These cards can be purchased secondhand for little now, although the original Radeon Mac Edition is more scarce. There are newer Radeon cards for Macs, like the 9200, but PCI versions are not as abundant as their AGP counterparts.

  • Does this Graphics Card run Photoshop's 3D Feature smoothly

Hey guys! I was building a new PC and wanted to know that if the graphics card that I would be using would run Photoshop CC's 3D functionality smoothly or not? The graphics card is Nvidia 750Ti 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card.
    Thanks for your time :)

Update your graphics driver, if that's possible. If it's a desktop computer, the smart thing to do would be to buy a dedicated NVidia or AMD card and turn off the intel stuff. Even the cheapest ones wil lbe better than that nightmare. Otherwise there's nothing you can do.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card on a Tecra A8 (PTA38E)?

The Intel integrated GMA 945 chipset on the Tecra A8 isn't quite coping with the demands I'm putting it under. (3D gaming...)
I know that laptops are severely restricted on space internally and that the purpose of the integrated chipset is to conserve power, but is it possible to install a stand alone graphics card instead of using integrated graphics?
If so, can you reccommend a suitable graphics card and any companies that would have the expertise to install the card... (I'd imagine it'd be a little bit beyond my abilities)

Oh Well thats my question answred. I guess I'll just have to go and get a dedicated gaming desktop now too... Sigh :)
A good product idea for graphics card companies might be a removable graphics card that you can slot into the card slot or usb port on the computer. Would the data transfer rate be fast enough to cope with this of does a graphics card always have to be directly on the motherboard?

  • Which graphics card can fit in my HP 500-201IN?

Can you please provide a list of graphics card which will fit in my stock HP 500-201IN with stock case and stock PSU?

    Good morning,
The following link shows the specs of your computer:
        http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c04168140#N90
    1. Yes, you can upgrade to 500W PSU, please check power connectors first,
    2. No, as the above specs, there is ONLY one slot for one video card on the motherboard.
    3. Pass, I don't buy and sell computer cases.
    Have a good weekend.

  • Need an upgrade! any ideas what graphics card can fit and work good in my computer?

I am upgrading my HP Pavilion dv6 notebook and I have a Intel Family HD graphics card and I would like to upgrade it.
I want a gaming graphics card that can fit into my computer and not go over the price of $250.
    Please help me!

    Hi,
Unfortunately, your existing graphics chip is integrated into the Motherboard and as such is not an upgradeable component - neither is there a suitable slot to be able to connect a discrete card.
    Regards,

  • Can I use two graphics card in Mac Pro

In order to use the CUDA advantage in Adobe Premiere Pro I bought an NVIDA Quadro FX4800. The original graphics processor in my Mac Pro (mid2010) is a ATI Radeon HD 5770. Can I use both cards? How do I ensure that Premiere is using the CUDA architecture if both cards are installed? Does a graphics card work if no monitor is attached to it?

Newer cards have minidisplay port and then use MDP to DVI (active dual link for higher resolution).
Yes you can have an ATI and Quadro or GTX.
Most people, based on cost/performance go with newest Nvidia instead.
You can run up against the limits of having two 6-pin aux power connections available.

  • HP Pavilion 500-424 Graphics cards options

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 500-424 and was interested in upgrading the graphics card for gaming purposes and wanted to know which graphics cards are compatible before I purchase a graphics card that doesnt fit or is not able to be used with my computer.

    Hi,
    No, nothing is compatible because
    (a)  No video card, it is AMD graphics (combined with the processor),
    (b)  Processor socket: None (processor is soldered to the motherboard)
       http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04453602
That means if you wish to upgrade video "card" you have to upgrade CPU and if you wish to upgrade CPU you have to upgrade motherboard ===>  buy a new machine.
    Regards.

  • Video Graphic Cards (Dimension DXC061)

I am not very tech savvy so I am really confused about what graphic cards I need to get for my Dell Dimension DXC061 computer.
I've been having a lot of trouble playing a game (specifically called League of Legends) and I believe it's the problem of my graphics cards? It is a slim computer so I did hear that I would need a specific kind of graphics card that can fit in the slot.
My current graphic cards name is I believe: Intel(R) G695 Express Chipset Family
Can anyone help me on what graphics card I may be able to get that would meet the requirements of most game? (Nothing too hardcore, just normal typical games).
    Thanks to anyone in advance.

    You have a PCI-Express 16x slot available.
The good thing is that your computer came with a 375Watt power supply, so you most likely won't need to upgrade that.
Without knowing your budget, I'll throw out two options.
    First one : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+GeForce+GT+620+Graphic+Card+-+700+MHz+Core+-+1+GB+DDR3+SDRAM+-+PCI...
    Second : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+NVIDIA+GeForce+GT+640+1GB+DDR3+PCI+Express+3.0+Graphics+Card/6957...
Both are compatible with your system, and your power supply can handle them. Granted with the more expensive one, you'll get slightly better performance, I'll leave that up to your budget to decide.

  • Graphics Card/Driver Upgrade for Slimline s3400z?

I am currently trying to upgrade my slimline to be able to run higher quality games.  I want to by either a lower profile graphics card that will fit or upgrade the driver and buy a better graphics card that will fit.  I have been told it is not a gaming comptuer which clearly it is not but is their someway I can upgrade both of these things please?

For Vista driver, you can find it Here and for all version of Windows, you can find it Here
But, if the driver not working or not found, use Lavalys EVEREST Ultimate Edition
The Trial Version should be OK.

  • Overclocking Graphics Card Question

Does overclocking graphics cards have any effect on boosting power in regards to graphics applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, Vectorworks, etc. OR does it just boost power in gaming?
I wanna overclock my graphics card, but only if it will give some boost in graphic applications.
    Thanks in advance~

    Hi-
Overclocking accelerates the memory (if OC'd) and the GPU of the graphics card. All applications which use the GPU will benefit from the additional processor and memory speed, providing the over clocking is not done beyond the capability of the chips.

  • Can i upgrade my laptop's graphic card? and how does this upgrading affect the other functions?

is it possible to upgrade my HP Split 13-m111TU x2 PC's graphic card? how does one go about this upgrading process? does it affect the other functions and features of the laptop?

    Hi:
The graphics adapter in your model cannot be upgraded.

  • Installed graphics card does not support the opengl features recommended

I've installed FCP6 on my PowerMac (PPC G4 DP 1.25GHz), and when I run it, I get a warning ("...installed graphics card does not support the opengl features recommended...") and the program ends. The graphics card is the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro (64MB)
I'm looking for a definitive answer regarding my hardware compatibility with FCS2 (specifically, FCP6). I'm NOT looking for an answer along the lines of: your system is too old to run this.
I've checked the minimum system requirements from the apple website (http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs/
    and http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/download/):
    * A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
    * 1GB of RAM
    * An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)
    * A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher
    * Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later
    * QuickTime 7.3 or later
    * DVD drive for installation
I have all that stuff. What I'd like is to know which component of my system is FCP6 complaining about (vis-a-vis the error message above), alternatively, if someone has had success with a similar configuration, I'd like to know anything they think might help.
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice you may have.

The minimum would probably be an nVidia Fx5200 or an ATI 9600...
