Does the macbook have a cd drive?

I wanted to load some software on my daughter's new macbook while she is away and can't find a cd drive. i don't have it with me right now so don't know the model number or operating system, but do know that it cost $999 a few months ago. Thx.

MacBooks have media drives, yes. (MacBook Airs are the only models that don't.) It is located on the right side (facing the display). It's just a slot.

    Hello 23435,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your iPhone was knocked out of your hand and now it displays blue and black colors on the display. It does sound like this iPhone may need to be evaluated for service. If you would like more information about this process, please refer to the attached web link below.

  • Does the MacBook Air re-install drive for Mac OS (2011) re-format hard drive as well?

Hello, my computer failed yesterday due to a Nbidia graphics card DOWNgrade, so I was wondering if the MacBook air re-install drive erase everything from your hard drive when you re-install it? Thanks!

Yes, it certainly does have the tools to reformat the drive if desired. You can also reinstall the OS without reformatting, if you think the remedy of a simple "repair installation" is all that is necessary.

  • Does the MacBook have the thermal paste "problem"?

I'm really thinking about saving up my money to get a MacBook, but with all of the thermal paste "problems" with the MacBook Pro, I'm not sure if the MacBook has the same problems. Has anyone with a MacBook taken it apart and examined the thermal paste? I'm hoping that Apple has chnaged their instructions on how much thermal paste to apply in the MacBooks and MacBook Pros. If anyone has done this, or knows of any place on the web with pics of the MacBook taken apart, I would love to hear about it. Thanks in advance!

Some people have encountered very excessive amounts of paste on the MacBook as well, and one person out of curiosity went into his 12 inch Powerbook and found it glopped on there too -- and of course a healthy improvement in the thermal performance of the computer once it was done properly. Seems to be an ongoing Apple problem -- but not necessarily a problem in every machine, as some people have found much less excessive paste application and only a minimal improvement in thermal performnce after reapplying.
The MacBook is very much easier to disassemble than the other machines in part because the logic board and heat sink faces up and therefore you do not need to remove the logic board, but do please note that if you do take it apart, any damage that is deemed to have resulted from your repair will not be covered.

  • Does the Macbook have a Wireless G or wireless N

i just bought a new N router, but i dont know where to look to find out which adapter i have
if its G then i gotta go to the genius bar to have an N put in
if its N then im good

    Replies to you reply
Before you buy anything I want you to go to About This Mac from the Apple Menu and make sure that it says Intel Core 2 Duo and not Intel Core Duo
    it says Intel Core Duo
Second, if you are connected through ethernet and not wireless why are you bothering to upgrade to N? If you aren't using the wireless then this won't make a difference.
i use Both, the Macbook is connected to Ethernet so His Powerful windows Pc doesnt knock me off the internet, when his girlfriend comes over she brings a powerful windows laptop and the do some intensive gaming
In fact, because your son's computer uses wireless G the whole network becomes a G network rather than an N network.
He may upgrade to N soon, Our objective is so neither of us get knocked off
There is nothing to ship. Apple will just email you a link to the download. You just need to install that. Do you have two of the same Macbooks?
that was the nature of my question And One is a Macbook the other is a Mac Mini
Then I'd assume you can just open the same link on your other computer and install it there. You can legally transfer it between computers as part of the license.
    Ok that was a question i had....thanks
Last thing you should do is make sure the router is properly set up and not conflicting with other wireless routers in the area or with other 2.4GHz cordless phones as those will cause interference. If you install Airport Radar it will help you avoid wireless channels that are already in use so there is less interference
The router is set up correctly , we are dirrectly above our apartments Office, there IS a 2.4Gb cordless phone there........it knocks off My sons wireless and occasionally my wireless but not my ethernet, we cant do anything about that, the apartment office is who we pay rent to.
please tell me more about apple radar...thanks in advance

  • HT4399 Does the Macbook Air Software Reinstall Drive Test still work after upgrades to Mountain Lion?

My hardware test (extended) appears to halt.  Is there a problem running this start up disk after installing 10.8 or other firmware updates?

The extended AHT takes one hour, so be patient

Does the Macbook Pro (2012) have a dvd drive? I can't seem to find one.

Not the MBP-R's, you can't even change the RAM or storage in them.
The other 15" MBP's you can and they include the Superdrive built in.
Last time you do a impulsive purchase huh?

Does the macbook pro have a built-in dvd player?

This is the only new MBP you can purchase with an integral DVD drive at this time:

  • Does the macbook pro retina 15 inch comes with cd/dvd drive?

    Hey
Does the macbook pro retina 15 inch comes with cd/dvd drive?
    thanks

The MacBook Pro with Retina display doesn't come with a CD/DVD drive. Instead, you have to buy the Apple USB SuperDrive or any external optical drive, or you can use Remote Disc if you have another Mac > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5287

  • Does the Macbook Pro have a program to run Windows? If not, what is the best program to do so?

Does the Macbook Pro have a program to run Windows built in? If not, what is the best program to do so. Purchasing a new Mac.

No. The Mac does not have anything to run Windows
You must install either virtualizrion software or use BootCamp to create a partition for Windows. Once you have done that then you must install Windows.

  • Does the macbook pro have a 'dv terminal'?

I have macbook pro and panasonic dv video camera. Panasonic manual says I can use a dv interface cable to connect the camera to the computer if the computer has a dv terminal. Does the mac have a dv terminal? is it one of the firewire ports?
    many thanks

    Hi nandi,
always learning something new here: I have never heard the term 'dv terminal' but a quick goodgle search showed that this is another name for a 4-pin FireWire port.
So since the MacBook Pro has two FireWire ports the answer is YES.
But be aware that the Firewire ports on the MacBook Pro are full-sized ports either 6-pins for Firewire400 or 9-pins for Firewire800.
So the usual 4pins connector for Camcorder does not fit.
    Regards
    Stefan
