Does TopLink support JBoss App Server?

My company is a software development company. So, we use many application servers for our customers.
I found that TopLink supports OC4J, WebLogic and WebSphere, but I don't know, Does TopLink support JBoss? I just downloaded TopLink for test yesterday, so, I don't know much about TopLink, but my current project uses JBoss.
Please give me some suggestion that might help me to refine my project.

Yes it does and there are customers using JBOSS. TopLink supports any app server and, in fact, doesn't even require an app server -- and compliant JVM will do just fine.

Actually You can deploy your application to Sun App Server 9.0, but probably not all features will work. But now You can download NetBeans 5.5 and Visual Web Pack for it (it's a next step of Creator's evolution) and this IDE supports GlassFish (opensourced Sun App Server 9.0).

Applet does not load on app server when Free Design Layout

Hi,
I have to embed a an applet in a webpage of an web application. Before I go on to anything.. let me first tell you, I am using Netbeans 6.0
As shown in the tuorial:

1. I first made the "Applet" source say HelloApplet. java. After compiling and running it I get the HelloApplet.jar.
2. I created a WebApplication and then from the properties -> packaging -> I "Add Project" HelloApplet.jar.
3. Then I a webpage I "embeded" the applet.
4. I run the web app and the applet gets loaded and everything is just fine.
But before I go on I must tell you that the applet was designed in Null Layout. Now I edited the applet source once again and changed the layout to Free Design Layout*. ( this is available from Netbeans..on the HelloApplet.java .. go to the design view.. right click on the form and from the context menu you can change the layout to FreeDesign or whatever you might want).
When I expand the "Libraries" node I see the that the library Swing Layout Extensions - swing-layout-1.0.3.jar has been added.
When I "run" the "HelloApplet.java" file, the applet is shown in the appletviewer. No problems with that.
But!
When I try to Clean & Build and Run the WebApplication, the applet does not get loaded. On inspecting the java console I see the following error:

... 10 moreIt clearly shows that the Free Design Layout has something to do with the GroupLayout which can be found by expanding the "Swing Layout Extensions - swing-layout-1.0.3.jar". Now when the HelloApplet.jar is created only the HelloApplet.class file gets included together with some other data but NOT the swing extensions. Hence when I run the web app the class file looks for the GroupLayout.class definition but can find it in the jar as its not included when the HelloApplet.jar is created.
But with null layout there isint a problem because null layout takes the definitions from the JRE on the machine.. and so it runs without a hitch.
My Question is : How can I run the applet with Free Design Layout? or is it possible to package the swing layout extensions in the HelloApplet.jar?<</u>

You must use a collection.
If you really wanted to you could store the data as an array and use get/set methods to convert between the array and collection, or customize your own ContainerPolicy, however arrays a very inefficent to add/remove from so TopLink only provides support for collections.

Jvm option "-d64" does not recognized by app. server

Product: SunOne App Server v.7 Platform Edition
It seems app. server does not respect jvm option -d64. I've set this option manually in server.xml file and also from management console. None worked. When I debug System properties from my web application it is listed as follows:
sun.arch.data.model=32
Anyone encounter this problem before? Should I set this option from another file or script?

I would think using this capability would require that you are running on a Sparc 64 Solaris machine, and that you specified that Sun ONE should use your locally installed jsdk1.4 package for operation.
Additionally, you would have had to install the supplemental 64 bit support for jsdk1.4 per instructions (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/install-solaris-64.html#64bitinstall).
Once this is done, the app server should recognize the "-d64" option.

Currently we don't certify JBoss v7 but we can add that to our priority list for next release if you have a specific customer requirement.

OIM Data Source Configuration in JBoss App Server

Hi experts,
I have deployed OIM on JBoss Application Server. Physical machine on which database is hosted was relocated and its IP address is also get changed.
I have made changes in xlConfig.xml to point to new DB (IP Address).
But DB connections are set in the App server Data Source as well
I made changes in Data Source as well to point to new IP address of DB machine.
Managed to start OIM .
But getting database connection exception in log. similar exception is given in post:
ERROR [DATABASE] Class/Method: tcDataBase/writeStatement encountersome prob

Server does not support remote panels, server overwhelmed

After an unknown amount of connections to remote panels, I recieve the "server does not support remote panels" error. Often times it will further say server is overwhelmed. It seems like sometimes we can have almost 100 succesful connections without the error and sometimes just only 10.
Ive combed over all other similar posts regarding this error and most others seem to have an issue with the initial connection, not after numerous succesful connections.
This error can be resolved by restarting labview; however, restarting means interupting some physical processes that are running in our warehouse. Is there a way to locate and empty this log that appears to be overwhelming the server?

Using Labview 2013 Full Development on windows server 2008. IO communication done through compact field point modules. All remote computers used to access remote VIs have been loaded with the correct runtime engine. The issue seems to happen on the server end because once it happens, all remote computers get the same message, instead of one isolated computer having an issue.
There doesn't really seem to be a pattern to this error occuring(to my knowledge). Sometimes we can go a week or two without seeing it, other times, a few days. We upgraded to labview 2013 and the new server almost a year ago. This error didn't start happening until after about 4 or so months of use.
I came across this knowledgebase earlier this week and have verified that all of our settings are correct.

Some how the default create method (create()) get called all the time.
create( boolean logActivity, String dbCodedNameAauth, String uname, String pswd )
is never called even though that is the method I call in the client code.
In reality, I do not need ejbCreate() but if I dont add it to the session bean
my application does not run because the app server throws a method not found exception
when the client code calls the create method of the session bean above.
Am I missing something? I followed the Cart example in the tutorial. Below is the home interface.

A stateless session bean can have only 1 ejbCreate method and that doesn't take any parameters. you may provide an init method which you can call just before calling your business method where you can initialize all your variables.

Does toplink support selecting an interval from a ResultSet ?

I wonder if Toplink supports selecting an interval of rows before creating Java objects. I think I can do this myself using CursorStream but that would take more time to ignoring created java objects than ignoring items (rows) from query result.
actually the purpose is to simulate cursor. since a cursor is quite expensice to keep in memory for long time, but still the applications, working with a paging logic, want to select one page of objects each time they make a call to toplink, I need to provide them with this functionality.
for example there is a retrieve request that would result in 1000 objects. in the first call, they want to retrieve 0-50, in the second call 50-100, and so on.
ps : I don't let these applications keep a cursor on behald of them on the server.

i was told by apple rep. that apple does not support
G4s that have 10.3 server running on them. i had my
hardrive swaped by apple support last month and they
lost all of my server data, now they are saying that
the server config on a G4 is not supported. can someone
clue me in on this oddness ?

Yes, As of the 10.1.3.0 release TopLink supports the usage of Java 5 classes.

Toplink support for SQL Server 2005 on Websphere 6.1

Hi,
We are using toplink in our application, it works fine when we use it with weblogic & SQL server or WAS 6.1 with Oracle or DB2. But when we use it with WAS 6.1 and SQL Server 2k5, it just does not work. It takes up all the connections in the pool and never returns it and starts giving connection time out errors.
Internal Exception: com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.ConnectionWaitTimeoutException: Connection not available, Timed out waiting for 100005Error Code: 0

This sounds like a WebSphere connection pool issue, I'm not sure why WebSphere would not work with SQL Server.
You could try using TopLink's internal connection pooling instead.

Whatsapp won't work on an iPad, it's currently only for iPhones - the app developers haven't made a version that's compatible with iPads.
