Does VI Logger support NI DAQPad 6016

According the specification sheet, the 6016 should support VI Logger, but the software does not work together with the card.
Is there a workaround?

Strato,
I am the product marketing manager for VI Logger at National Instruments.
LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI are both excellent options for creating a data logger. However, if you the time investment to learn develop the code is getting in your way then VI Logger is the best choice for creating a data logger with National Instruments hardware.
The only thing is that it the application engineer was correct in stating that the current version of VI Logger does not support NI-DAQmx devices. I apologize that the data sheet provided you with incorrect information.
If you don't mind I would like to speak to you "offline" about a way for you to use both VI Logger and the 6016. Would you mind sending your contact information to me at [email protected]?
Thank you.

  • Does Lock in amplifier kit work with DAQpad 6016

    Hi all,
I have DAQPad 6016 (USB). I am trying to develope Lock in amplifier and I found Lock in Amplifier start up kit. So I am wondring that this tool kit works wit DAQ 6016? Moreover, DAQ 6016 does not support treditional DAQ. And this tool kit is with traditional DAQ so Can i change this traditional DAQ to DAQmx or any update available for Lock in amplifier start up kit?
    Thank You

    Hi N.K.,
I found an example which is using DAQmx. Have a look at:

  • Changing input amplifier range on DAQPad 6016 when using VI Logger

How can I set the range to +/-50mV for AI on a DAQPad 6016 when using VI Logger?
I think the range defaults to +/-10V. I'm seeing a lot of noise on a 30mV input signal and I think it's because the PGIA is set at its lowest gain.

The range and gain are set when you configure the virtual channel for the VI Logger task. You can change the range for the channel by opening Measurement and Automation Explorer, under My System >> Data Neighborhood >> Open the folder labeled Virtual Task and right click on the specific channel and select properties. You can change the range within the window - if you set the range to be +/- 50mV in the channel the DAQ driver will automatically set the gain.

  • Turning off my DAQPad 6016 causes my computer to reset

When I turn off my DAQPad 6016 after a day of use it causes my computer to reset. I can only figure it is a driver issue however how can I prevent that as when I change the configuration of the 6016 I often turn it off just to be safe. Is there a patch file for this device? Does anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks, Dave

Sean, thanks for your reply, sorry it took me forever to get back to you but with the holidays and all its been crazy.
I am still experiencing the problem. In reply to your question I do have Ni-DAQ 7.3 installed.
When the problem happens it is after I run my VI that calls the DAQ, but the VI has been stopped. When the computer decides to reset I dont get a warning or even a blue screen it just goes back to the POST screen where it identifies my system resources as if its being turned on for the first time. It seems that the DAQ power switch acts as a reset switch on the computer would.
However I have been going back over my code and it seems I forgot to place a DAQ Stop on one diagram before I call the DAQ Clear Task so I am assuming it is not stopping first and that the clear will have no effect. I fixed my code and hopefully this will solve the problem. I will keep you posted as I will get back to using the device in the new year.
    Thanks for your help.
    Happy Holidays.

  • Digital Lines defect? DaqPad-6016

    DaqPad 6016
    Hallo,

You can use the 8255 port of a 6025 with handshaking to in essence accomplish hardware timed DIO to a sample clock.  To do this, wire the sample clock up to one of the handshaking signals and leave the other handshaking signal unwired.  Which handshaking signals you need to use depend on the port and direction, but you can check the user manual for more documentation.  The main drawbacks to this approach are that you can't go very fast and there is no way to know if you missed a clock.  You can't go very fast because each clock edge of the handshaking signal generates an interrupt on the device.  This generally limits your throughput to a few kS/s since your computer has to handle and process thousands of interrupts per second.  Also, since there is no FIFO or other circuitry on the board to detect multiple clocks before a read or write occurs, it's possible you will miss samples without receiving any notification from the driver as your sample clock increases in frequency.  Generally this isn't an issue with handshaking because the feedback handshaking signal self regulates the speed of the acquisition.  However, as I stated above, to achieve sample clock like behavior, this signal must be left unconnected.
There are a couple of other boards that are supported under Traditional DAQ you can use that have correlated digital functionality similar to M Series.  The 673x AO Waveform boards and the 6115/6120 S Series boards both have 8 lines of correlated digital I/O.  They aren't MIO boards, but perhaps they will work for you.  These boards along with the 653x high speed digital boards are supported under both Traditional DAQ and DAQmx.

  • What is the default state of the "Ready" LED on the DAQPad-6016?

I am having trouble pinpointing why my .vi will not show me the status of an input.  The "Ready" LED on my DAQPad-6016 continues to flash and I receive the 200324 error.  This occured when I was resetting the power switch every few seconds when trying to troubleshoot.  In my MAX, the unit is shown with the red "X".  Resetting the power does not clear it.

    Zack,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments. Which one of the following states are you seeing? The following is from the E Series Help:
The DAQPad-6015/6016 devices have two LEDs labeled ACTIVE and READY. The ACTIVE LED indicates activity over the bus. The READY LED indicates whether or not the device is configured. The DAQPAD-6015 BNC and mass termination devices have a READY LED only. The following table shows the behavior of the LEDs.

    Blinking simultaneously
Both LEDs blinking in the same pattern simultaneously indicates an error state. You must power off and power on your device.
    Blinking alternately
If both LEDs blink in the same pattern alternately, contact National Instruments.
I recommend downloading and installing the NI-DAQmx drivers for that device to make sure you are using the latest drivers. Also, try the device on a different computer (if possible). Let us know your results after this.

ata 133 is just a marketing gimick.............only data moves that fast is 2mb in the drives cache
the drive will run at about half that speed once the cache is cleared
    dont worry about it
    Er, I got another question
I'm now looking at this hitachi model:
    http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?id=210&pc=dealtime#
which has good reviews (probably for others in the range). I originally saw it on ebay but it turns out to be cheaper buying it from the above supplier.
The question I have is does the MS 6382 support serial ATA? I'm reasonably sure that the above drive is parallel ATA (ie compatable with the MS 6382) because of the manufacturer's info here:
    http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/d7k250/d7k250.htm
but I thought I'ld ask before I order it or in case I change my mind (again).
    Thankyou for your help

  • Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??

I am looking to move from an outdated Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to OS X Lion Server but I am unsure as to how Lion will handle email. I do not want to spend money on a new windows server if I can get a Mac Mini Server to do the job. I am a very small business with a number of email accounts for a couple employees and need access to email and calendar from both the office iMac's and my Macbook Pro when on the road. My IT guy says I need Exchange but he's been off base on a few other items recently and I wanted to check with other sources.
I have 2 new iMac's, a MacBook Pro, an iPad1 and and iPhone4 on the mac side of things and 2 windows computers running XP. I would get rid of the windows computers completely if not for my CAD program which runs best not in a virtual machine mode.
How well will email and calendar entries sync across devices?

I have a very similar setup at my office. Lion Server will push email, calandar, contacts to all of your apple product with out a hitch.
As far the Windows XP machines, you can access email over IMAP with Thunderbird, and calandars via sunbird or the built in web app.
I would ditch the exchange server move to Mac OS X Server, and never look back.
    God Luck!
PS. All of your devices will be in sync all the time.
    Shore answer:
Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??
    Yes.

I would like to know Does Crystal 2011 supports SAP R/3 4.6? Please help.
    Thanks,
    Tilak

    Hi,
yes, it does. Here is a Screenshot from the CR2011 SPS6 Data Access File
    The (4) indicates:
    (4) SAP servers required to have at least the above patch levels. The following correction notes should be applied to your SAP BW / SAP NetWeaver BI system: 1125433, 1161911, 1162349, 1162416, 1170323, 1230303 and 1007048. OSS Correction Note 1007048 requires a manual configuration step.

  • Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new  Canon Sureshot S95

Camera RAW does NOT yet support raw files for the new
    Canon Sureshot S95.
Adobe, please can you provide an update asap

    Hello!
I think that you need to be patient.
There has not been any release of Camera Raw since the release of the camera.
I recommend to try the next version once it will be released, as there might be preliminary support (and therefore not listed).
Usually, Adobe is amongs the firsts to support a new camera.
Even though the Camera Raw team is fielded with wonderful coders, I do not think that they do have a time machine to allow support before they have their hands on a camera

  • Is it possible to synchronize two OEM DAQpad-6016's?

I’m currently using several 6030E DAQ cards and synchronizing the gathered DAQ samples by using the RSTI cable/connection. Now I need to make this process mobile using a laptop and have selected two OEM DAQpad-6016’s. Is there anyway to synchronize two cards DAQ samples? I found something in the manual which leads me to believe this isn’t possible. “DAQCard and DAQPad devices do not interface to the RTSI bus. These devices can only directly use their own internal 20MHz timebase as the primary frequency source”
I though perhaps someone might have some thought's on how to do this or perhaps at least control the sample difference with a fixed delta.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Dave Werner

    Hello Dave,
You can try routing the AI sample clock of one DAQpad out to a PFI line, wiring that PFI line to a PFI line on the second DAQpad and configure the second DAQpad to use an external clock. I think that the statement, "These devices can only directly use their own internal 20MHz timebase as the primary frequency source" might be a little misleading. I would go ahead an try to route out the sample clock to see if you can share one sample clock between the two DAQpads.
    Take care,

OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If anyone has any comments to ally my fears, I welcome them. I've been a devoted Mac user since 1993. 7500; G4; G5; and my latest Mac Pro...Where do I go? Again...HELP!

    Hi there,
If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
    Any other queries, just ask,
    Nathan

  • Does Apple TV support wireless connection to the new MacBook Pro retina in an extended display mode?

Does Apple TV support wireless connection to the MacBook Pro retina display in an extended display mode? What is the output resolution and is sound also transmitted across?

SB1983, by extended display do you mean mirror?  All MBP since early 2011 support it if they are running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.  The resolution will depend on your Apple TV (2 Gen is 720 and 3rd Gen 1080) and wifi, it will lose some quality but I find it minimal.  It does also mirror the sound.
