Don't Bother Calling CS

They can't see anything regarding your order. Which baffles me because I have called every day since Monday and been told it's shipping. Turns out (you'll love this) this is what the Verizon Stores told them. They don't show anything in their system that says this because it was done at the store. If you ordered from a Verizon Store they CAN NOT access your order information. 
So all this time there was no tangible evidence of anything, just a note from the store.
The same store that told me, and you, that we'd get them Tuesday. This is the Arlington VA store.
The same store that processed my order when they had nothing to ship and KNEW they had nothing to ship. If I want information I have to call the store. The store that did this in the first place. 
Because the Verizon store says it's pending, I cannot CANCEL. The Verizon Store cannot offer any proof that it IS pending. I'm just supposed to take their word for it AND pending means two to three weeks in Verizon Store Speak. Because they say it is pending even though they cannot show me proof, I can NOT cancel. See how this works?
Monday  am filing a complaint with VA's Attorney General and I will be Tweeting and blogging my angry little heart out. I will be canceling my service and never dealing with Verizon again.  I am also filing a dispute with my credit card company. Maybe admin should forward some of this to someone who might care, although I'm doubtful anyone does.

When I called Verizon on Saturday the 12th, inquiring about my "Saturday ship by 12pm" order that didn't arrive by 12pm, the CS rep said, "That must be a mistake, we have tons in stock!" WHAT??  And since my order was pending, she said it looks like FED-Ex has the problem with the shipping not us! That they must have issues on their end and I should call them.  Fortunately for me, I had already called FED-Ex and of course, they had no record of my order. This is such a joke and we are stuck not getting any support from Verizon.  "Sorry" was the best they could do.  Oh, and they credited me $25.00 back from the Saturday shipping I paid for- giving me an EXTRA $5.00!  Wow!!  Seeing that since I spent over $850 and still have nothing to show for it, that $5 does come in handy - NOT!!!

    I can understand the "it isn't broke, don't fixit" concept. If I may ask, what version of the iOS does your present iPad now have?
    I had an iPad 2 since the iOS was at 4.x something and continually updated it as new versions of the iOS were released. It was running iOS 7.0.4 when I gave it to my son in law. He still uses it with iOS 7.1. I now have an iPad Air and my wife and I both have an iPhone 5. All of these are running iOS 7.1 and we have had no problems with any of these.

  • Thinking about BT? Don't bother!

    Since BT Infinity became available in my area and no other providers offered speeds anywhere near it I decided to switch to BT. The order went through and everything was fine. The order form told me to get my MAC code from my current ISP and give it to BT so that they could switch my service.
    After promptly getting the MAC code from Virgin the day after my order, I called BT support to give them the MAC code. The woman on the phone told me that I don't need to give them the MAC code until a day before my installation date then hung up on me. My installation date was supposed to be Tuesday 3rd April so I called today (Sunday 1st April) when the woman on the phone told me I was supposed to give BT the MAC code as soon as I got it and I would now have to wait until mid-late April.
    Yet again, absolutely shocking/worthless support from  BT and a needless 3-4 week delay. It seems the only way to get anything done with BT is to call 20 times a day every day to make sure they didn't mess anything else up. I sincerely hope one of the other ISPs start to offer fibre broadband in the area some time soon
    tl;dr: Switching to BT? Don't bother.

But there is no way that my card is invalid because i just got it last week. So the only thing i haven't done yet is call my bank to check and see if all my bank statements match but if they do then have no idea what to do to get this to work with my computer, ipad mini, or ipod    HELP!   • Installation with Raid, etc... [dead issue, don't bother reading]

    I'm trying to install arch using RAID and LVM, following the wiki procedure in Installing with Software Raid or LVM.
    I am able to get to the point where I install the kernel.  When I install it, the bottom of the screen flashes the "wrong fs type, etc" error, then the installer acts as though it is installing it anyway, going through the installation, configuration, and fallback configuration stuff.
    If I continue, when I get to grub installation, I get the error that the drive doesn't exist.  I've found some forum threads on this which indicate (I think) that I need to run makedevs before going to grub installation.  If I type, makedevs, I get a command not found error.
    The filesystem seems to be up and working, so I'm not sure what next steps I take to troubleshoot this.

    So I tried the quickinstaller for some better control, which seems to help.  I also found this in the forums, it allows me to run makedevs.  /dev/md0 is already mounted at /mnt are my root, so I skipped the first line, not sure what else I could do there.
    mount /dev/hdxY /mnt
    chroot /mnt /bin/bash
    mount -t sysfs none /sys
    mount -t proc none /proc
    makedevs
    mount -a
    Then vi /boot/grub/menu.lst :
    kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/md2 ro md=2,/dev/hda3,/dev/hdb3
    Then launched grub as quoted in the wiki
    Now, it doesn't say to exit the chroot to go on to grub - but it must be required because there is no /mnt/dev unless you do.  Once out, if I use
    mount -o /dev /mnt/dev, I get a new error:
    mount: can't find /mnt/dev in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
    Which it isn't, but /mnt/dev does certainly exist.
    I'm working on the very edge of my linux knowledge here, and suspect I'm making a fundamental error, but (obviously) don't know what it is.:(

    i really apologize for this because it's something that shouldn't happen at all, but im only a human too.
    /dev is not correctly mounted in installation system (during archboot cleanup i thought this is not needed sad )
    --> setup cannot bind /dev to installed system.
    --> autodetection of filesystem will fail, which will cause the default initrd to fail on boot.
    2 workarounds:
    First workaround before entering setup:
    mount -t ramfs none /dev
    /etc/start_udev
    now setup works as it should!
    Second workaround:
    while using setup:
    edit /etc/mkinitcpio to not include autodetect in HOOKS= array
    1 workaround if you already installed and system doesn't boot:
    use the kernel26-fallback.img as initrd in your bootloader
    after successfull boot just fix the ramdisk:
    mkinitcpio -p kernel26
    bump:
    I backed out and started all over a couple times, finally installed via Duke with updates.  Found that I had to reinstall filesystems to my hard drive; something obviously got messed up, and ultimately found a couple of "typos" that had managed to mess me up.  Because I fixed so many things on the way to installation, I can't tell you exactly what I did, so I'm marking this thread as a dead issue so people don't bother reading it.

    I've been using LSR (Linux Software RAID) with Arch for a while now and it's never given me any trouble: I don't even know how that works since all I have to do is make sure the md module and the appropriate module for your RAID-type (in my case raid0.ko) is loaded: when these are compiled into the kernel, the md-module automagically finds my RAID-partitions and starts the correct md-devices in /dev.
    I don't have any md-daemon running (I didn't even know there was one until I read your post).
    And still everything just works.
    What I think you need to do is repartition both of your RAID-1 discs and make sure your partition's type is "Linux raid autodetect" (type fd). Once you've done that, create the md-device and put a filesystem on it. Edit /etc/rc.conf and put "md" and "raid1" in the list of modules to be loaded at boottime, get rid of the mdadm service since it doesn't exist anyway.
    Now after rebooting, once the RAID-modules are loaded they should detect and start up your RAID-array automagically. Check this with dmesg.

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together)
    2. For about 10 seconds

    Despite BT asking for my telephone number and postcode, and then telling me that I would get a speed of 50.4Mb, when their engineer arrived to install it, he immediately stated that we wouldn't get anything at all! What hsort of incompetent test is conducted that suggests a broadband speed of 50.4Mb when no connection at all is possible. BT should be sued for misrepresentation, false advertising and breach of contract! It is time they lost their monopoly in rural areas. My advice - don't bother with BT - you'll not get what they promise

    Just because you could not get connected m8ty, its not always BT's fault they cannot be 100% sure on Infinity until the actual instalation date. Just chill out a bit bud!. Stick with your ADSL. Many a customers with BT like me have a 100% excellent install and service they cannot be write all the time!.

    The data volume that one user is sending is obviously also applying as data volume for the receiving user. If you want to be really exact you should check if you volume rate only includes downstream or also upstream volume.

    sorry but the Magic Mouse is just useless with the new Adobe Premiere CC and since I'm not the only one but can't find answer this is really disappointing. This mouse is just fantastic and now I have to swap from a USB mouse to the Magic Mouse every times I do some editing. My USB mouse if hurting my hand somehow and I want to got back to the Magic Mouse asap. Please - for sure there is a simple solution !

    Actually its considering the line as a movie clip
    and i noticed that when i take mouse on the line of movieClip it calls MouseOver/RollOver and when i entered into the square leave the line, it called MouseOut/RollOut event.
    so the flash is not considering the inner part of the square as a movie clip, its taking movieClip as a container.
