I scroll to app to click open and nothing happens. Do I need a new trackball? Thank you.
It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out.
It really is more common than you think.
1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
3. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
*Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

Hello. I don't know why Windonws stops itune working when importing music.
I considered what cause to do that,but I can't find out. Icould put music into ipod classic the day before yesterday. Now I can't.

freakmeoutThere's a bug with 10.1.0.54 that is causing "iTunes has stopped working messages" (citing CoreAudioToolbox.dll in the Problem Reports for the error) for some folks when importing CDs with the AAC encoding, adding/converting files to AAC, and in some cases syncing devices (when the convert to 128 kbps AAC option is enabled).
Short of rolling back your iTunes to 10.0.1.22 and your Apple Application Support to 1.3.2 (CoreAudioToolbox.dll is kept in the Apple Application Support program files), there's a few possible workarounds.
(1) Change your importing prefs to use a different encoding (won't help with the device syncing variation though), and/or disable the convert to 128 kbps AAC when syncing option.
(2) Replace your CoreAudioToolbox.dll version 7.9.4.0 with a 7.9.3.0 as per:

I don't know who to complain to as you do not appear to have a complaints department, despite searching the web, I trust you can pass this to relevant department for action, as I'm very angry over my recent repair.
Following my issue relating to a blank screen 2 weeks ago, your advisor arranged for my iMac to collected by Amsys, for repair and return, this was done and it was returned to me last Tuesday, onWednesday I set up my iMac again and instantly realised I had problems, much worse than before. I called Amsys to inform them of the issue of the computer being very very slow and unable to open iPhoto and pages, and document listing would not show up, plus I had no sound on the mac.They informed me that they had only replaced the video card and what they had done would have not affected the computers performance. He suggested I reinstall OSX again which I did, but this made no difference to the programs, so I called you.
Your technician on the phone was very good as they have always been, and made an appointment for me to go into the Milton Keynes Apple store the next day at 1 pm, which I did.
The gentleman on the Genius Bar was very good and was able to run tests on the iMac in my presence, and diagnosed immediately an issue with the sound problem, and advised me that this could not be fixed while I wait and I would need to leave it for repair. I made him aware of the previous repair, and he was able to see via your system, the list of logged issues I have had with this since purchasing in September 2012. I'm sure you can see from the way you record all calls and issues the problems I have had.
Today I called to ask if my iMac would soon be ready for collection, I was told the repairs had been completed and it was being tested. However to my dismay, I learned of another serious issue relating to the repair carried out by Amsys. I was informed that 6 screws were missing from the the iMac internally, which caused me much distress and concern, they also told me I had to wait even longer as the screws had to be ordered and installed on arrival before I could collect it.
My issues here are: I trusted the Amsys repairer as it was arranged and recommend by you, it is very evident they are not competent to repair, as they have caused more problems with my iMac on its return, despite enclosing a checklist, fully ticked showing everything working well, it clearly wasn't ! Plus the issue of missing parts (screws) during the repair, I have already expressed my disgust with Amsys, by email and had a response, within the hour, apologising and told me they were looking into this.
This where I stand on this, I have not had my iMac for almost two weeks and I do not know when I will get it back. I'm also very worried about what other damage has been caused by Amsys and the quality of my iMac now. I want to know what you, Apple is going to do about this ? I have already been very inconvenienced by this and until now I have been a very loyal apple customer with 2 iPads, and 4 iPhones in our household, not to mention the iMac.
I feel I have been very let down by this experience, on my iMac, which cost a lot of money, I have also lost a lot of money with lost work and unable to carry out my business without it, and I will be seeking compensation.
I trust you will take this complaint seriously and pass it to the relevant department for action.

Am using short keyboard. Don't know how to create plus sign which is not on the keyboard. There is no number pad. Advice would be much appreciated.

Every time I tried to do in app purchase, it showed please contact itune to complete the transaction, I have already saved my credit card info and it worked before, I do not know why it no longer work, I do not have any restriction
Gee... maybe you should try contacting iTunes support like the message told you to do.

Mouse Track Ball only working in one direction
Hello,
My Mighty Mouse is 3 months old and now the track ball is only working in one dircetion.
When I move the ball forward I hear the distinct sound and the scroll bar on e.g. Safari moves, but when I reverse there is no movement on the screen.
I don't hear the same sound as when I move the track ball forward.
I have tried to reboot but no improvement.
Have someone seen teh same issue? Is the solution to simply replace the mouse?

Hi there,
I am using a thorlabs fw102B filterwheel. It's connected via USB (simulating COM port, that's what it says in MAX). The second device is a camera, also connected via USB. The application is running 24/7, at least that's what it's supposed to do. LabView version is 8.6.
The LabView code I wrote for this, was never really finished, meaning I totally ignored error handling in the first program version. That never bothered me, because the program ran for weeks and months without any problem. Whenever I had to reboot my system it was not LabViews fault, but I was changing something else.
Recently I was running into problems with the filterwheel (after a system reboot). However, I don't understand the error in the first place: The filterwheel is supposed to change position every 15 minutes, in between the camera is taking exposures, then the data is written to an ASCII-file (only ~156 kB). At first the error occured just once: the filterwheel was set to the wrong position for about 15 minutes, which might happen, as it is not really could in counting. A few days later it was in that wrong positon for one hour, so it didn't respond to the "move" order four times in a row. Finally I didn't move at all anymore. The error message I was getting is "0xFFFFFFF unkown status code". In my opinion the communcation to the filterwheel got lost somehow. I don't know a better explantion.
But why should it recover after some time?
The problem usually occured at night, when nobody is there to watch.
I investigated the behaviour in a second setup (see attachment). There is only the filterwheel connected. Through randomly unplugging the USB or power cable I was able to reproduce 'session handle is not valid', 'unkown status code' and 'session handle lost'. The program enters the 'true case', the session is to be closed and resetted, then it shall be reinitialized. This actually works as soon as the cables are reconnected. But why?
The close.vi still returns 'session handle is not valid', The reset.vi returns the same, but initialize.vi returns 'No Error' and the system works again.
What am I not getting here?
I read some threads here and somebody mentioned for another instrument/problem to use the 'reset' command twice. So I tried 'close-initialize', 'reset-reset-initialize', 'reset-initialize' but only 'close-reset-initialize' works (not surprising). Yet I still get the same errors (probe 1 and 2). Am I introducing more bugs without knowing than I fixed?
I AM CONFUSED.

thank you for your answer. Concerning the dataflow I agree and it is what I usually do. Actually I follow the dataflow paradigm whenever there is no problem (the 'false case' in the screenshot):
“FW102x Initialize.vi” -> “FW102x Get Position.vi” -> “FW102x Set Position.vi”.
Whenever there is a mistake, this just doesn't work with these drivers. The sequence
“FW102x Initialize.vi” -> “FW102x Get Position.vi” -> ///error/// -> “FW102x Close.vi”, “FW102x Reset.vi” ;; “FW102x Initialize.vi”
will give me errors for “FW102x Close.vi”, “FW102x Reset.vi” and “FW102x Initialize.vi” reporting "session handle not valid". However, if I "bypass" the instrument handles directly from the first "Initialize" to "Close" and "Reset", they will report the same error, but the second "Initialize" will work again. I can even merge the first two frames and execute "Close" and "Reset" at the same time to do so. But whenever I try something else, e.g. do the 'correct' wiring, I am unable to close, reset or reinitialize. I have to restart LabView completely, to make the vi work again. So I guess the session is still hanging around somewhere in memory, but I can't access it anymore.
Surprisingly, wherever I put Probes on the data handle wires they show the correct "ASRL5::INSTR" (with or without correct wiring). But only the "Bypass" wire makes the vi work. Since you couldn't find the drivers in the driver network, I guess they might just run into problems, if an error occurs.
But thanks for your comment anyway. The problem is fixed for the moment. It's just that I prefer to actually know what I am doing here instead of producing some code I'd rather not show anyone.

The MBP w/ Retina Display is 2.3GHz but the other without Retina Display is 2.6GHz. So I don't know which one would play games absolutely flawlessly. I wont have the screen resolution so high on the games though. So can someone reply and tell me which one I should get and why?
Mac's are generally not 3D gaming computers and laptops especially are not because 3D games require a upgraded video card to take advantage of newer games and more feature rich updates.
Only the Mac Pro can one change the video card, if one can find a upgrade for it.
If you really love 3D gaming, a Windows 7 3D gaming tower is your machine.

3D gaming on a Mac is sort of a second hobby, it's rather short lived as one can't replace the video card once a year, only with a new machine purchase.
Most 3D games are for Windows anyway and Apple almost demands OS X be upgraded to newer verisons annually now, so that sort of throws a monkey wrench into a Mac gaming rig with software upgrades and all. On the other hand Windows 7 is supported for a decade.
Mac's just don't work well with 3D gaming, perhaps a Win 7 tower and a iPad or something. -
My uncle passed away recently and we are trying to access his iPad but don't know his code so the iPad is disabled. Can we unlock it without having to reset it as we don't know if he's backed anything up and we don't want to lose whatever is on there... thanks in advance.
About all you can do is take the device to an Apple Store along with the death certificate and explain the situation...if someone can do something, it would be them.

I don't know whether to get a new MacBook or not.....
I have a 2007 MacBook. Cheapest one you could get, with the small screen. Specs are:
- 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
- 1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
- Snow Leopard 10.6.8
When I go to get HD information it says this:
Capacity: 79 GB
Available: 47 GB
Used: 32 GB on disk
Been having a lot of problems. When I updated to Snow Leopard, things seemed to be better, but have progressively gotten worse. I tried cleaning up a lot of my files, but it doesn't seem to help. It goes SO slow (takes a full minute to open Safari, etc). The fan constantly runs. The batterly lasts about 30 mintues when not plugged in, it says I need a new one (don't know how much they cost?). I don't know whether to take it in or not. Would it be worth anything? There is nothing wrong with the disc drive. What should I do....you can get a general value of what your mac is worth by entering info here: http://www.mac2sell.net/. A new battery costs roughly $129 USD installed by Apple.

Is there a way to re set Lightroom to original settings, I have been playing around with it and got to a place I don't know how to get out of. Not very computer savvy
To begin, quit Lightroom
On Windows do the following
Click the Windows start button and in the search box type:-
%appdata%\adobe\lightroom
Then press the Return\Enter key
That will take you to the Lightroom folder (see image below)
Select the Preferences folder and hit delete to send it to the recycle bin.
Close the Lightroom folder and re-start the Lightroom program. -
[Solved]I don't know if hardware acceleration is working
I often watch movies in HD, and when using XBMC, they sometimes lag and/or get out of sync (audio/video). So recently I tried mplayer, and it seems better, but I've also looked into va-api. So I grabbed the pkgbuild for mplayer-vaapi (in community) and edited it to include pulseaudio and then built and installed it. But when trying 'mplayer -ao pulse -vo vaapi [movie] I don't really notice any difference. Htop shows cpu usage 70-90%, I thought it would be lower if it is working. My hardware is not the best though, so maybe it is? how do I know?

If I use vo=vaapi and va=vaapi, I get audio, but video is black. Mplayer seems to think it's working, though there is no video.

I am running gnome with compiz enabled, and system is fully up-to-date with [testing] enabled:

So, how do I know if it's working if I can't see any difference just by my eyes?

At least it syncs perfectly now, and I did not need to add anything to get pulse support. So thanks for the help! I'll keep my eyes open for va-api support

Hey can someone please help!!! My blackberry curve 9360 's track pad ha\s been working fine, and all of a sudden it restarted and the trackpad is not working at all. I can't get round anywhhere on my phone at all. Is there a way to fix this? Do i send it to Blackberry and if so where ?

In iMessage on iPad, no picture shows up for my sent texts, but does for received ones
I have a photo set for contacts, including both e-mail addresses used by iMessage on my iPad. If I send a message to myself, the received message has a picture icon, but not the sent one. Any ideas?
