Don't wait for loading image

Hi
I'm trying to load an image, but don't wait for it to complete !
In an applet, there is a method called "getImage" which does this job. But I've got no applet !
Does someone know how to do this ?
Thank's for all comments !
Freddy

Is there any limitation for the image size by using
Toolkit.getImage()?
We have a problem when tried to load a image with 5M size
and only had a partial of the image displaied. Any comments?

  • How to call a ALSB Proxy Service and don't wait for his response. Publish M

    Hi,
I have a Proxy Service called PS1 that will invoke and another Proxy service Called PS_ProcessingNode that invokes 10 differents webservices during the orchestration and takes about 2 minuts.
I would like that if invoke PS1 that will invokes PS_ProcessingNode (asyncronously) and immediatly PS1 will return "OK" (don't wait for the response of PS_ProcessingNode) .
For simulate this scenario I am testing with:
    - PS_Processing is a WSDL without response that has a JavaCallout with a Sleeper of 10 seconds.
    - PS invokes with "Publish action" to PS_ProcessingNode but is waiting for PS_Processsing finish. I don't want this beahivour.
How I can do it for PS doesn't wait for the response of the PS_ProcessingNode?
    Thanks.

    - PS invokes with "Publish action" to PS_ProcessingNode but is waiting for PS_Processsing finish. I don't want this behavior.
I'm glad you have a solution using JMS. But still Publish action should not wait for response. If you are seeing that behavior, you can contact Support with an SR to get it fixed.

  • Seconds waiting for Loading to be finished.

I asked a guy from Apple Netherlands this week if it was normal that Aperture spends about 5 seconds loading an image after it has been selected. He said I should ask other users with similar configurations to compare because he did not know. Well, here I am.
There is no delay in the images to appear in the viewer or anything, but it takes seconds before I can make edits (using the palettes). Caching seems to be improved between 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 so that a much larger number of images that have been allowed to fully load earlier, don't need to load again when selected.
Is this 'normal' behaviour or is there anything wrong with my machine (2.0GHz G5 DP - 2.5GB RAM - X800) or perhaps anything to tweek to get a speed boast?

Unhappily, this is completely normal with Aperture. (It would be even worse if you didn't have the X800 card.)

  • Waiting for multiple images to load

Are there any support classes which helps with tracking image loading in background issues?
Something which would work like ImageTracker(List <Image>) and have ability to call one function on finished loading and second if one or more images fails to load.

Hi, I don't think there is (but, I'm no expert). You can try with Tasks, though. It's a good way to run things in background and be notified when they're done or when error occurs. Check out this link: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/threads/jfxpub-threads.htm

  • LightSwitch HTML: Don't wait for active promise operations when navigating between screens

Navigation between screens is halted (and the loader is shown) until any active promise operation has completed.
This becomes an issue when a screen started a long loading operation, but the user wants to exit out of that screen. It is easy to cancel promise operations that I started myself, since I have control over when the operation completes. But I don't see any
way to do it for operations started by the framework itself (such as any collection property of a screen).
Is there any solution to this problem?

This becomes an issue when a screen started a long loading operation, but the user wants to exit out of that screen.
There isn't method available to cancel the navigation between screens, you need look into your project, and check why it takes long time to load.

  • Things that should be in the next update... please don't wait for 2.0

I've been using adobe products a long time and I have to say that I am a little disappointed there has not been more thought put into things that should just work in a v1 product.
    Here is the list:
Ingest window should be able to be able to take up the full screen.  At a minimum, it should remember the last size. My paths get somewhat long and this is very frustrating to continually have to resize the window or panes every time I ingest.
Ingest should put the files in the bin selected when I hit ingest.  It always puts them at the root.  To make matters worse, keyboard shortcuts that are used to select files in almost any program like SHIFT+HOME do not work.  I have to click, scroll to the bottom and shift click the last file to select a range.  Then drag all the clips to the target bin.  Borrow the code from Premiere
Keyboard shortcuts for clip navigation.  Logging clips with keyboard shortcuts is a godsend and this is one thing that I love about Prelude.  Anyone who has to do a lot of logging will tell you these keyboard shortcuts are imperative to a smooth workflow.  This is especially true if you have to log hundreds of clips like I do.  Next clip, previous clip when editing from the navigation tree or in a roughcut would be extremely helpful.  If I am in a roughcut, I can easily get into a clip, but not back out to the roughcut where I was.  The only way I have found is to click on the roughcut name in the timeline window.
Re-linking moved media - FAIL.  Since this product is supposed to let different people log media, it seems crazy that the program can not re-link it.  Very few people in this world store there files in the same absolute path.
Lack of updates.  Makes me wonder if Adobe is committed to this product.  Having a really long time between iterations is hard on your users.  At this point I have no clue if any of these features will ever be added.
I have spent a lot of time in this program and it is on the verge of being great.  I personally think that before you start adding new features, you should fix some of the things that make it hard to use.

Thank you for your post and your passion for Prelude. Input from customers like you is how we can improve out product.
I do have a few comments and questions for you about your experience. Also, many of the items you have listed are already part of Prelude.
    Replies to your list:
    1.  The Ingest Dialog can be sized to fill your entire screen. Simply drag-drop the edges to resize. This size is also remembered on subsequent launches. This has been in the product for quite some time – what version of Prelude are you running? Currently we have made the following releases: Prelude 1.0, 1.01, 1.02 and 1.03. Our v2.0 has been announced and revealed at NAB last week and is coming out soon with many more enhancements and improvements. Rest assured that Adobe is committed to this product – as you will see with this new release.
    2.  Ingesting into the selected BIN is part of our upcoming release that was revealed at NAB. I'm currently on a Mac so cannot test the SHIFT+HOME shortcut, but Prelude does support CTRL/SHIFT selection options to make selection easier. I'll look into the HOME and END options as well. If they are missing we certainly want them added.
    3.  Glad you find the keyboard driven workflow beneficial. We had a lot of customer feedback early in our 1.0 days that this was a must. Adding support for clip selection in the Project Panel to open and log clips is something in our backlog we would also like to deliver because as you say it is very useful and saves time. We are also reviewing our Clip/Roughcut UI and workflow. Don't have anything to report yet other than this is an area we are focusing on.
    4.  Relinking is possible in Prelude 1.03. We've added additional relinking support in our 2.0 that provides relinking in rough cuts as well. If you are not yet on 1.03 please use the free update and let us know how it works for you.
    5.  As mentioned above, we have 3 updates posted last year for our 1.0. And 2.0 is coming out soon.
Please continue to share with us your thoughts and ideas for improving Prelude. We have an aggressive feature TODO list but are always looking for more direct input to help us properly prioritize what's part of our next delivery.
    Thanks!

  • MIME Content Type in HTTP Headers - They don't exist for TIFF images

    Hello,
I think this may be a bug...
In an effort to stop client browsers from attempting to render TIF images served up from UCM 11g, I would like to change the MIME Typte to: application/octet-stream
Supremely, a browser would see this in the HTTP header and simply provide the "OPEN or SAVE" dialog.
Seems easy enough - from the UCM Configuration Manager, I can set/edit all the mime types I want. I did set .tiff and .tif to application/octet-stream. Apparently Weblogic does NOT honor these settings.
When I click on a PDF file, I get: application/pdf
When I click on a TXT file, I get: text/plain
When I click on a TIF file, I get: NOTHING - no mime type specified in the HTTP header at all.
Does anybody know where in the stack of Weblogic/UCM 11g that mime types are set? Does anybody know why I'm not seeing ANY mime type when I click on a tif?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks!
    JDM

Yeah, that does seem a bit unwieldy. Try the following instead:
Navigate to the "<Middleware_home>/user_projects/domains/<yourdomain>/config/" directory and there create the following file :
    mimemappings.properties
In this file add the below mapping :
    tiff=application/octet-stream
Save the changes , restart UCM server and then test to see if the issue still shows up .

  • Bash: Don't wait for command to exit

I asked this question in an earlier post but it was in the wrong section, my post was...
How would I script the following commands below?
    WAM$ nc 127.0.0.1 4271
    STREAM #KeyboardInput
PORT 2043 #Result of typing STREAM , would like to PORT="2043" as variable
    ^C #Exit KeyBoardInput
    WAM$
In between these two posts, I came up with a partial solution such as
    PORT=`echo 'STREAM' | nc 127.0.0.1 4271 | awk '{print $2}'`
but this command never exits so...
How do I exit this comand once I have the PORT variable set?

Do you have a process listening to port 4271 on your system?
You might need to arrange for nc to be interrupted after some short time. Maybe
    (echo STREAM | nc 127.0.0.1 4271 & sleep 10 && kill %1) | awk...

  • Don't wait for the Intel Core i7 CPU!!!

Anybody contemplating a new system with the Core i7 CPU better be warned! (Jim, are you listening?).
Due to the architecture of the X58 chipset, which does not allow for separate voltages for the CPU and memory, warnings about permanent damage to the core i7 are rampant.
The core i7 can NOT handle voltages over 1.65V. However, most DDR3 memory chips require MORE than 1.65V, sometimes up to 1.80V. In that case permanent damage to the core i7 is the result. It will be fried.

    >"One of the biggest concerns about Bloomfield X58 motherboards were previous reports that X58 boards will have to use the same voltage for Vcore, CPU and Vmem, the memory on the board. In previous reports, we learned that first revision of the boards had these two things Vcore and Vmem synchronous.
    >We learned that motherboard manufacturers will be able to separate the CPU and memory voltages, and yes, this means that you will be able to set the voltage on your CPU independently from the one on your memory.
    >This will certainly make the overclocking much easier, as you wont burn your CPU with 1.8V voltages that you might need for some ultra faster DDR3 memories. You can expect that the next Asus, MSI, Gigabyte boards, among the others, comes with separate Vmem and Vcore settings."
Seems Asus chose not to separate them for their first gen P6T, but the option is there for future revisions and other mobos.
In any event, I had no trouble finding appropriate memory for this board. Shouldn't be an issue if one is careful about matching parts.
Still, this is a good warning, as I was not aware of the problem.

  • How do I uninstall iPhoto from my MacBook Pro? It won't let me shut down my computer cause it keeps telling me to wait for my images to import, but there isn't anything importing...?

I can't shut my computer down side my iPhoto app is telling me that it's importing pictures, but not is happening &amp; I wanted to uninstall iPhoto to see if that would work. Please some one help me! This is annoying.

The "Importing" message can be cause by a corruption of your iPhoto library - then uninstalling will not help. Try this:
    Force Quit iPhoto:
From the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen:   > Force quit ⌥⌘⎋
Then select iPhoto from the panel.
Then fix your iPhoto library and remove the "Importing" folder from the library  -

  • Waiting for a constructed image

I am having great difficulty with an image constructed from others. Essentially, I create an empty image and fill it with a series of drawImage() commands on the graphics context. However, I simply cannot get execution to wait for the image to be finished before it's displayed.
There are a couple of places where I may need to wait- when the images are first loaded (they are stored so only one disk access is needed for each image) and when the images are scaled before drawing them to the main image.
However, despite packing my code to the gills with MediaTrackers, nothing seems to force it to wait. I've been using:
    MediaTracker tracker=new MediaTracker(this);
tracker.addImage(someImage,width,height,1); //or without the scale parameters
    try{
       tracker.wairForAll();
    catch(Exception e) { System.err.println("Tracker error");}
//then use the image as requiredinside the JLabel that's doing the drawing, and then inside the class that loads the images. It simply doesn't work. Refreshing the output shows that the amount that gets drawn varies. Where is the delay? How can I force display to wait for the delay? It's driving me spare.

i have a problem in iPad Safari. when i use Javascript to append image to div using elm.appendChild(img) the images don't appear until the screen is touched. the same code works perfect on IE,Firefox,Chrome, and android browsers.i have uploaded video that shows the problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBN9fThDik8is it related to the device ? or there some special code for loading images in iPad safari?or any solution ?

Hi there and welcome to the User Forums!
What you are looking for is a full-motion video recording.
Captivate 2 has full-motion available, but the product is designed
to use it for only brief periods - for capturing such things as
grabbing a scroll elevator, or a drag-n-drop of a file object. It
is definitely not designed for on-going, continuous video capture.
If you upgrade to Captivate 3 you will find expanded full-motion
    capabilities.
Other alternatives include the use of software designed
specifically for creating AVI videos. One popular software package
for this is Camtasia, but there are hundreds available out there -
just "Google" for a string like "
    create video".
Having said that, if you use Captivate as intended, the
action you describe can be captured easily, and with amazing
clarity and real-time appearance of your actual activity. This is
not really the place to conduct a complete seminar on the product,
but there are more than a half-dozen tutorials (created in
Captivate) accessible on the main user interface (UI) - look in the
right-hand column on that UI. The titles tell you what each
contain. There is also a sample movie or two that was included with
the install. You might find it helpful to open that and after
looking at the timeline and other features, use the Preview feature
to see what a Captivate movie looks like.
After looking at some of those resources, come on back here,
as you will probably have more specific questions we can help with.
    Best of luck to you.

  • Mail: Load Images for trusted senders

    Hi,
Within mail / Preferences, I've disabled loading images for all received email. However, I'd like to be able to automatically load images for any sender in my address book or use some other whitelist mechanism to trust certain senders so that I don't have to "load images" so often. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Robert

This may be a question for the Apple Script forum, as mail rules has the capacity to run an apple script based upon set criteria.
    Something like:
on new received message > checked senders > if sender is in address book > run apple script to load images.
If I was an apple script type I might be able to help, sadly though I am not.
    Try posting here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=724
I hope you find a successful solution.
    Cheers!

  • For a laptop for LR image loading on trips - is 1366x768 screen enough and HDD size?

I have big pc and big screens for editing at home, but for travel am looking for a laptop for loading images on the road and basic LR sorting and tagging while away.
2 questions to get your experiences, forum regulars, about my direction:
    1. 1tb HDD with an external 1tb HDD as backup - rather than 256 or 512 gb inboard SSD (reasons of $$$ and also to load all my images on a trip)
    2. 14 inch screen with 1366 x 768 or similar rather than full HD ($$$ reasons and becasue I figure I can zoom in to check focus on that screen just fine)
    Your comments and experiences?
    Oz

It meets the minimum requirements for display size which is 1024 x 768
I use a 15 inch Macbook Pro on the road, so pretty close in size.
You may find this video useful on the subject of working away from base and exporting the laptop catalog into your master catalog when you get back.

  • Loading Images into Applets

I've been having problems loading an image into an Applet. I've found that when the getImage() call is put into the init() method it loads the image fine, also implementing an imageUpdate call. However, now I'm trying to expand on this by putting it into a button click, it hangs indefinitely while waiting for the image to load.
Another interesting point I've noticed is that the Canvas subclass ImageSegmentSelector uses a PixelGrabber in its constructor to put the Image into a buffer - when this class is created from the imageUpdate() call, NOT the init() call, the grabPixels() call hangs indefinitely too!!
    Any feedback, please,
