"Done Signing" button issue on pdf forms.

I've been using this feature everytime I fill out a form. But now, it's grayed out. Done uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader. But still the same.
What's weird is, I checked the security properties of the pdf form using Adobe Acrobat to check if I accidentally set a restriction on that file, but I did not. No restriction being set on my pdf form. Try to check the screenshot.
Please help me guys.

Thanks for your reply George.
Well, I say that it is way more convenient to use the "Done Signing" button. I mean I love the feature because it makes my work easier and faster. Anyway, I have resolved it myself. It's back now.

  • How do I add a submit button to a pdf form?

    hello
I am trying to add a submit button to a pdf form... is this possible though forms central or Acrobat Pro?

If it is a PDF you created with FormsCentral, then yes, it should have a Submit button. See this for more info: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/formscentral/help/create-fillable-pdf-form.html  and http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/formscentral/help/create-forms-locally-save-them.html
If it's a fillable form created with Acrobat Pro, and you want to collect data with FormsCentral, then you import that existing PDF file into FormsCentral and add a Submit button to the form: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/formscentral/help/navigate-formscentral.html#import_exi sting_fillable_pdf_forms
    I hope that helps,

  • Is there a way to create an export button on a pdf form that will send form info into ongoing excel spreadsheet?

I'm trying to see if there is a way to create a submit button on my pdf form that will export the form data into a saved (ongoing) excel spreadsheet. The end result i'm hoping for would be a spreadsheet that lists all the information i receive from each form.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

Not really. But you can combine the data from multiple forms into a single (new) spreadsheet via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet...

  • How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central.

How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central. It's for an online Diet Questionnaire. After people complete the form I'd like them to click "SUBMIT" and the completed form will be emailed to me.

This can be a bit confusing because Acrobat 11 comes with the desktop app that allows you to create simple PDF forms without having a FormsCentral account. Some people find this helpful, but you need to understand that when you generate the PDF form, it is Reader-enabled by Acrobat. In order to edit the form further in Acrobat, you have to create a non-enabled copy of the form. You do this in Acrobat by opening the form and selecting: File > Save a Copy
and opening the copy. It is not opened automatically.
You can now add a button and set it up to submit by email, either using a "Submit a form" action or the submitForm JavaScript method. You can set it up to include just the form data or the entire PDF, and will want to use a mailto type URL. Submitting the form to the FormsCentral server has a number of important advantages over email (much more reliable, more secure, etc.), so you might want to consider it.
If the form needs to be saved with Reader versions prior to 11, then you will need to Reader-enable the document. In Acrobat 11 you do this by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

  • How can I make a button on the PDF form invisible?

    Hi all.
I added a submit button to my PDF form but I do not want it to print on the form or appear when the form is e-mailed?
Is there a way to make it invisible before I print or e-mail the document?
If this is not possible, is there a way to add the submit button along with the javascript that needs to run when the PDF is opened?
    Thanks!

Set the button's properties to "Visible but doesn't print"

  • Problems with "Submit" button on simple PDF form.

    Hi there!
I have searched, but perhaps not searching forums correctly to find my answer as this seems like it should be easy to fix (she said hopefully).
I have created a simple, offline PDF form for an event registration.
I have fields all done, set it up to email back a simple FDF from the client with a Combo Box "Submit" button.
When the client fills in the fields and hits "Submit" button, she gets:
"The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."
I created this in Adobe Acrobat 9.
Client is filling in using Windows XP.
I have extended release, no security, etc.
Is there something simple I am missing?
Have been able to get this to work before.
    But now, not so much!
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

That's not normal. Do you know what version of Acrobat/Reader the other person is using? Can you post the form somewhere? If not, I'd be happy to take a look at it if you are free to email it to me at: acroscript at gmail dot com

  • How to disable digital signing and saving of PDF form?

I have a PDF form that I have created. It does not have a signature field becuase I need them to print and physically sign the form. However no matter what I do Adobe Reader offers the option to digitally sign the form (as well as save it). How do I disable this?? Thank you for the help in advance.

Thank you for the answer and explanation.  Unfortunately I am still not sure the best solution.
It is a business application for a city site. As a result the limit of 500 is obviously not going to work. Also for legal reasons they need the form physically signed.
The original hope was to provide a PDF form that could be filled in (almost entirely) on the computer if desire and then printed, signed, and turned in to the city.
What they don't want is for someone to fill it out on the computer, use the echosign and email it as they need the physical signature.
Sounds like we might have to choose between:
    - not having it interactive (so they can just print it out and fill it out)
    Or
    - make it so they can fill it out on the computer, but include instructions that they need the print it out and physically sign it. And hope they follow the instructions.
Again, thank you for the explanation. I think I will just have to let them decide.

  • My submit button on my PDF form is greyed out (will not work) after posting link to PDF on my WordPress website. It works in Acrobat Reader just fine.

This is where you can see the form as clicked through to from the WordPress website page:
    http://pinetreeplayers.com/ptp_new/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/submit-a-play.pdf
The PDF file was created in Acrobat 11, with a submit button. The submit button is actioned to send the form via email. It works perfectly by itself if the form is opened in Acrobat Reader, but once I upload the PDF to my WordPress site the submit button is greyed out, and will not complete the action to send on-click.
How can I fix this please - can anyone offer advice?

Yes. They need to download Reader and then disable Google Chrome's internal PDF viewer and enable Adobe Reader.
FireFox should also be configured to use Adobe Reader and not the internal PDF viewer.
The internal viewers are created to process PDF documents by not including the features and code to process PDF forms.

  • JavaScript issue in PDF Form

I am wanting to create a script in a PDF form format with Adobe 8.0 (or 5.0 if necessary, what I want it to do is when I fill out a form box "name" on page 3 I have the same thing "name" is there a way for it to bring the information from the first box to the second without me retyping it? I will be using this form A LOT. I am working for a hospice center and have to fill out a ton of paperwork and some of it is very repetitive. Any help would be great, I know a little javascript and I think it can be done with it, any ideas?
    Nora

If you are using Acrobat and the Form Tool, just use the same name for the field name.
If you are using LiveCycle Designer, use the same name for the field name select "global" for the field's binding.

  • Hyperlinks don't work in fillable pdf forms

I have a question for you folks and am hoping you can help me.  I am using Adobe Acrobat X Professional.  I want to create "fillable" pdf forms which include hyperlinks.  When I create a pdf form and "Save as" a "Reader extended PDF" and "Enable additional features" the hyperlinks don't work.  I save the document this way in order to produce a fill-in pdf document.  However, if I save the document as a regular pdf (i.e., not reader extended/non-fillable pdf form) then the hyperlinks work.  Any ideas how I can get the hyperlinks to work in a fillable pdf form?  Thanks!
    Chris Quarto

    Hi Michael:
I'm sorry...I wish I knew what "autorecognized links" were.  :  (  As I mentioned in my reply to David, I created the hyperlinks in Microsoft Word before I converted the Word document to a pdf.
I have resolved the problem and posted my step-by-step solution a few days ago, but for some reason I don't see it in this forum.  It kind of goes like this...to get hyperlinks to work with fillable pdf's:
    1. Create Microsoft Word document and save when done.
    2. While in Word, click on "Acrobat" on menu bar (assuming you have installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro on your computer) and "Create pdf;" confirm that hyperlinks work and close document.
    3. Open pdf document with Acrobat Pro and selected "Create pdf form."
    4. Edit the "fillable" parts of the document (e.g., make all fields/text boxes 10 pt. font size...I wish there was a way of setting the default so you wouldn't have to manually do this for each field/box, but haven't figured out how to do that one yet).
    5. Close form editing.
    6. Select File --> Save as --> Reader extended pdf --> Enable additional features.
    7. Save file
    8. Close file and re-open to verify that hyperlinks and fields work/are fillable.
That's my solution.  There's probably an easier way to do this, but it works.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Closing mxml container using a button on a PDF form

i'm working on an adobe air application using flex builder. Inside this application I use the mxml container in flex to open a pdf form that is designed using livecycle Designer 8.2. I have exit buttons on the form that use the following code to close the form:
    var myDoc = event.target;
    myDoc.closeDoc(true);
This code works just fine when the form is opened in acrobat reader but it doesnt work when it is opened from inside the flex container. Is there any way i can close the form and the container by clicking a button from inside the form.
    Thanks

  • PDFMaker missing files issue with PDF Forms from Office 2007

    Hi,
I have Adobe PDF 8.0 Pro installed  (full installation) and I upgraded office from 2003 to 2007 AND Windows from 2000 to XP Pro.
I used to be able to create PDF Forms from an Excel document when using Office 2003.
Now, when I choose to create a new form starting with an electronic document [from an Excel 2003 document (.xls)], I get this error message:
"PDFMaker files are missing, would you like to repair?" (please image attached)
I did the repair. Did not worked.
I made sure the add-in in office was enabled. Did not worked.
I un-installed Adobe 8.0 Pro and Adobe Reader 9.0 and re-installed only Adobe 8.0 Pro , thinking there was a problem there. Did not work.
I googled for more answers, did not find anything else.
I am able to "print as Adobe PDF", I can create normal PDF documents, but not the Forms.
I used that option all the time for work. Can someone help me please?!!
    Thanks!
    Gwen

    Bill, it worked!!
I updated to 8.1.6 and now I can use an electronic document to create a form.
    Thank you!
I have another question: in the past, to enable Acrobat READER users to fill out a form and save it on their computer, all I had to do is "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" in the "advanced" menu of Acrobat Pro.
I did just that but my colleagues who have Adobe Reader 9 cannot fill the form. It appears as a scanned PDF document to them.
    Any idea why?!

  • Adding a email button to a pdf form

Hi, I have created a PDF from via indesign and edited it within Acrobat 9 adding a series of form fields. I wanted to add a "Submit" button to this form so that once the end user has completed this form it can be sent and attached to an e-mail address. I have come across many ways of being able to do this and these all seem to work fine on my home computer which is running Acrobat 8 but when I am using my work computer which is running Acrobat 9 and try to click the "Submit" button I have created which is linked to a required e-mail address, it prompts me to select an e-mail client of either being a desktop application or Internet mail. Once I have picked "Desktop E-mail Application" and clicked "ok" Acrobat then pops up with an error message reading "An error occurred while trying to create a mail document.  Acrobat is unable to complete your request."
I seem to find this very odd as I complete these exact same steps on my home computer and everything seems to work fine.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
    cheers
    Paul

In windows, the e-mail issue is typically either a limitation of the e-mail client or of the setup in windows, not Acrobat. Depending on windows to properly handle e-mail is a joke as you say. That has been true ever since HTML forms were introduced and mailto: became popular. It is extremely dependent on the client machine setup. In the past, Acrobat depended on MAPI to interface with the mail client. There are multiple versions of MAPI, even from MS and none is very reliable. I suspect that the issues you are having are similar to these MAPI issues. It is not that Adobe might not have been able to do a better just, but a lot of the Blame goes to the king of operating systems that is terrible with giving develpers proper information about how to do anything. At least they give info, apparently the MAC folks don't say anything from what I have heard -- of course, I really don't have a good source about that aspect.
My point is that generally Acrobat can handle the clients as long as the clients and OS have been properly set up, much in the way that MS tells you to do it. However, many clients do not do this well. I have some of my machines that can not handle mailto: from Acrobat, and others that do just fine. In almost all cases it is a client and OS system problem, not an Acrobat problem. I do understand the frustration, but there is more to it that just Adobe.

  • Submit button for online PDF form doesn't work for some users

Two online forms I've created in LiveCycle Designer 8.2 work fine for me. But when some of my site's users click on the Submit button in either form, it simply flashes and then does nothing. It's a standard Submit button with a Mailto link. The documents are PDF Version 1.7, and I'm using Acrobat Pro 9.4.5 and Reader 9.4. Any suggestions on troubleshooting would be great.

Has this form been enabled with Form Rights for Reader.  If the entire PDF is submitted, then the PDF must be Reader enabled to operate on Reader.
Another issue is that an email submit is entirely dependant on the user's system.  There must be a local email client installed and registered with the system.  Internet email will not work.  This is the most likely issue.  Althougth there are other things that could be wrong.  You might want to consider using the Acrobat.com to distribute your forms.  This method gets around the email issue for most users.
Other issues that could cause this problem are the users' version of Acrobat/Reader as well as any kind of funky system/security setup.
