Double timestamps in citadel5 when writing to memory tags

I am collecting some data and writing to six different memory tags. When I view the history of the individual tags, some of the datapoints and timestamps are listed twice with the same values. My vi is setup with all six write tag vi's in parallel and they could execute at any time. Should I rearrange my structure so that only one write tag vi is active at a time??

Hi,
Do you have all the Write Tag VIs in the same loop/structure? This would mean they will all execute together regardless of whether they have new data or not. You can either make the Write-value-on-Change input true, or have these VIs in their own independent loops/structures (like the ones created by the HMI Wizard).
Hope this helps.

Khalid

  • High resident memory size when creating in-memory db

Capsule summary: an in-memory db created with a cache size of 8 Gb reports a resident size of 2 Gb without any data stored in it.
    Details:
We have a need for creating an entirely "in-memory" database, i.e. without a backing file store. The application in question will be writing to and reading from the db frequently, and there is no need to incur the penalty of writing out to disk.
I read the white paper "Writing In-Memory Applications" published by Oracle, and modified our db creation code accordingly. More or less all I did was to allow "open" to be called with a NULL instead of file name.
This seems to work just fine, in that no file is created, and both writing and querying seem to work correctly. However, the resident memory size, even without anything written to the database, seems inordinately high. For example, if I set the cache size to be 8 Gb (the size of physical memory on my Linux FC11 machine), the resident size reported by "top" is 2.0 Gb:
    Tasks: 1 total, 0 running, 1 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
    Cpu(s): 0.7%us, 0.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 98.3%id, 0.6%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
    Mem: 8114752k total, 8054072k used, 60680k free, 45344k buffers
    Swap: 11717624k total, 204896k used, 11512728k free, 3977788k cached
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
    12827 rao 20 0 2243m 2.0g 9.9m S 0.0 26.0 0:01.53 pypix
Running strace on the process shows that there are three calls to mmap as soon as "open" is called, one of them being responsible for a majority of the allocation.
Is this expected behavior? The documentation explicitly states the following:
"... Note that the size you specify for your cache is actually a maximum size; DB will only use memory as required so if you specify a cache size of 1 GB but your data set is only ever 10 MB in size, then 10 MB is what the DB will use...."
This does not appear to be consistent with what I am seeing.
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to turn my keyboard rotate when writing message

How do turn on orientation lock?when writing message iPhone 4s keyboard can not rotate or clockwise. Where to switch on the function button

First you ask how to turn on the orientation lock, then you say your screen won't rotate. If the orientation lock is on, the screen won't rotate. To verifiy if it is on, look by the battery symbol and you should see the little lock with a circular arrow around it. To toggle it on and off, double click the home button and swipe to the right to bring you to where the iPod controls are. The orientation lock is right there.

  • [Solved] systemd - To fork or not to fork when writing services

    Hello,
Many of the programs i write services for have the option to fork or not to fork. Or are
advertised as daemons but have the ability to not fork into the background.
I don't understand which i should choose when writing a new service unit.
When do you want a program to run in 'daemon-mode' and when don't you?
Do i lose/gain anything when i make such a choice?
    Thank you.

Type=forking is for historical services that cannot be run in foreground. In this case process itself will take care of its deamonizing, but systemd should know the child pid somehow so you need to provide PIDFile= option as well.
Historical or not, Type=forking is necessary if you need to be able to order other services on the Type=forking service. Type determines the readiness protocol used by systemd. In the case of Type=simple, there is no protocol. systemd assumes that as soon as the binary is exec'd, the service is available. For Type=forking, services are considered ready after the MainPID exits (after the double fork), allowing for time to setup sockets or other resources needed to handle client requests (e.g. a database server or a web server). If you use the Type, you may find that dependent services fail to startup properly, as their dependencies aren't actually ready when systemd declares them to be.
Thank you, that really cleared it up for me
After your response, and re-reading the manual, it all makes sense now!

Why does my iPad hang when writing an email?  When I'm done with the email, I can't send it out and have to re-boot the iPad. This happens if the time to compose email exceeds 10 to 15 minutes.

Shut down all programs that are running in the background.
    1. Double-click the Home button to see Apps in background
    2. Hold the Apps down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
    3. Tap the minus sign to close program

That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard.  FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs.  And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error.  I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check.  1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs?  2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".

Sometimes the file get created with partial entries, most of the times the file wont even get created. I created new dtps and tried the same. Changed the package size, servers, parallel processes etc, but of no use.
    Thanks Neo

    Hi Neo,
Did you try to define the logical/physcal file path from tcode FILE? If not can you try to use this option and see if it works.
Also can you change your DTP settings by reducing the data packet size to see if your facing this error message?
    Thanks

Problem with Arabic font: In certain contexts, when writing Arabic with vowel signs (fatha, damma, kasra, sukun) a sequence of sukun + fatha/damma etc. would reverse automatically. Is this a known bug?
    Example: عَيْنٌ

Funnily, it doesn't seem to happen here, but it does when entering text in a web interface (using Firefox, font Bayan) and when using Text Edit.
Seems to be a problem of a specific font, as e.g. Arial MS Unicode works fine. Any hints?

You can't do Arabic on MS Word for Mac.  This app has never supported RTL scripts, so you need to use something else.  Mellel is best, but Pages 5, TextEdit, Nisus Writer, Open/LibreOffice should work OK.
You switch between languages by using the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen or by using the keyboard shortcuts apple/command plus space.  Go to system prefs/keyboard/shortcuts to make sure that is activated.
To see which key does what, you use Keyboard  Viewer.

You place vowels on letters by typing the key for the vowel after the key for the letter.  The vowels are on the option/alt keys, option/alt + a gives you َ

  • How do you set the left hand margin when writing emails. Some characters disappear off of the left side of the page because the margin is so close to the edge

When writing emails the left hand margin is so close to the edge of the page that some characters disappear from view on the left hand of the page. How can I set the left hand margin to not be so close to the left edge of the page?

Oy. You beat your head for hours and finally concede to asking for help, only to solve it two minutes later. Here's the answer.
In the inspector, on the Layout tab, there's a checkbox that reads, "Show Thumbnail Track".
UNCHECK that box and the gutter goes away.

  • How to change nickname when writing reviews in App Store?

Hi guys, I had an iTunes account that I don't use anymore but I want to use the nickname I had when writing the reviews in my new account, it won't let me chose it because it's already taken by my older account... Is there a way to change it?
    Thanks in advance

If you didn't already sort it--
in iTunes, go to Store | View My Account. Make sure to enter the email for your old account.
The main Apple Account Information screen has an Edit Nickname button next to your nickname. You should be able to change that nickname in the old account.
Then log out of the Store, log back in with the email for your new account, and see if it will let you use the old nickname.
It might be necessary to delay while the computers figure out the old name is free, if it doesn't work immediately.

  • Errors when writing metadata to files on Windows Server

    Good day!
I have an iMac running OSX 10.9 (Maverick) and Lightroom 5.2.
My catalog is on the local iMac drive, and the images are on SMB shared drive (handled by Windows 2012 server).
I decided to do the final layout of my album using InDesign, and for that I needed to access to images using Bridge. So selected all the images (the rated once...) and issue a Metadata/Save command.
The system came back with errors on many of the files (such as Photos are read only, and unknown errors).
Retrying to save the metadata on image that was flagged with an error usually (but not always) worked.
I tried to select save the metadata for few (6) images in a time, many times it was ok, but sometimes, one or two of them failed (and retrying again usually solved the problem).
It looks to me like a timing related issue.
    Any ideas?
(After spending about an hour on this, I have exported the images to my local drive...). In general I don't have similar problems with other apps.
    Any ideas?
    Yuval

    I Yuval
I'm experiencing more or less the same behavior (see Read-only error when writing metadata to file over network (Synology DS1315+ using AFP) ). For me however, the problem is more pronounced if I use the AFP protocol and is better (I think as you described) if I use SMB (all done on a Synology DS1315+). With SMB it most often works but in very rare cases I also get the "read only" message!
Do you have solution to this? Or are you stuck as I am?
    Cheers, Chris

  • Error when Writing Metadata to Files in Bridge (Mac) but not in Bridge (PC)

We get an error when writing metadata to files in Bridge (Mac) but not in Bridge (PC). In the same drive and folder, the PC can successfully write a keyword to a file on the PC, where the Mac returns an error. I have researched this at the Adobe Knowledgebase, but their answer seemed to indicate it was a global issue, and we don't see that behavior on the PC.
The client is a Mac of course, and the server volume is a Windows share volume. The Mac is bound to AD, and the domain\username and username formats have both been tried when logging in, but you receive the error in both.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Rich Oliver

Hi, I'm having the same problem using FreeNAS (which uses Samba and Netatalk in the backend), but I tried with both AFP and SMB on Mavericks and Yosemite, I still have the same issue.  I think it might be a timing issue with how lightroom interact with a slower write delay using network shares.  I suggest you also chime into this thread:  Lightroom 5 can't write metadata to DNG files   I really hope this is resolved as this is impacting my productivity as I moved my workflow to my Macbook with a shared NAS.
