Download File without displaying in browser window

I'm trying to download a PDF file from a flash site without
displaying the file in browser window. PDF file downloads correctly
on a Mac with Safari without displaying in the browser, however it
displays the PDF file in the browser window on a PC with IE 7.
Have added a .htaccess file to server "AddType
application/video/x-m4v .m4v .sit .zip .pdf" Can anyone tell me how
to do this and a sample piece of code would be greatly appreciated.

Ironically, when someone replies to my e-mails, which has my logo at the end (where I'm glad it shows), it also shows as an attachment in the header.
'T'would be nice to have this feature on outgoing mail, as well as having the option to include an in-line graphic with the signature.
I have written to http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/ with that suggestion.

Browser has a downloaded file without permission

Greetings,
During the usage of Firefox browser, suddenly i found downloaded file in the profile folder, but this is always happen each time i delete the file it comes back again, Fortunately i have a Norton Internet Security with the Download File Insight feature i could discover that file and followed the cache folder of Firefox Browser and it is not a virus,
Now these issue was happened after i have installed a program named virtual router on Windows VISTA,
After rename the file in cache folder to .exe extension it shows the setup file mentioned the wireless icon, by running it it shows the normal setup of Winhostspot,
What shall i do to stop this downloading file without permission?
Do i have to uninstall the virtual router software?
I'm sure that i have no virus cause the Norton Internet Security is up to-date with all running its security features: Virus definition and Firewall ... etc.
Even i have scanned the file by uploading it to http://metascan-online.com/

How to open PDF in Acrobat 9 without displaying the Acrobat window

Am using IAC in Windows XP via VC++ to open and modify PDFs in memory without displaying the Acrobat window so as to the PDF Processing in the background. To open the PDF, have to call the method PDDoc.OpenAVDoc which opens the Acrobat window for displaying the document.
As a workaround, I tried to minimize and hide the Acrobat viewer, using the AcroApp.Minimize and AcroApp.Hide methods. However opening, minimizing and hiding the viewer is creating a flickering effect (Acrobat window coming and going) especially when a no of PDFs have to be processed in a loop.
If I use only PDDoc.Open without the call to OpenAVDoc, am getting an error "No form is open in the Acrobat viewer".
Can anyone suggest a workaround to open and process PDFs in memory without displaying the PDF.

The GetFields method is giving error in Acrobat 9 but its working fine in Acrobat 7 and 8.

I did what you said and updated FF, now the download goes to the external HDD that I specified, but now FF bugs, it freezes (not responing) :s

How to get generated HTML file to display in new window from FileDownloadActionListener?

I am using Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.5.
I have a use case where the user can produce a report upon the click of a command button. They can generate 3 types of reports, HTML, PDF or Excel depending on which option they select in the radio buttons preceding the 'generate report' command button.
The files are created in the background (XML file created based on View Objects which is then transformed using the relevant API for the report type and then produces a file which is held in servers temp directory) and is served out through a FileDownloadActionListener component programmatically, which itself is surrounded by a Command Link with visibility property set to 'false' (as per this blog:http://www.jobinesh.com/2010/01/customizing-execution-of-to-validate.html).
Everything works fine in that the reports generate correctly and after clicking on the 'generate report' button the browser's 'Open/Save' dialog box appears asking the user what they would like to do with the file. I am using Internet Explorer as that is what most of the client users will be using.
The issue I'm having is as follows. For PDF and Excel types when the user clicks on 'Open' the file opens in separate Adobe Reader or MS Excel application windows respectively, which is as expected and required. However, the HTML document opens within the same browser window within which the application is running and from where the 'generate report' button was clicked. The issues this presents is that if the user closes the browser window displaying the report then they will need to open a new window to re-establish connection to the application. If they click the browser 'back' button then it takes them back to the original page but not in exactly the same state as it was before the report was launched i.e. there are some components missing and the page doesn't display correctly.
Is there another way for me to achieve this or is it even possible? I tried setting the 'useWindow' property of the invisible command link surrounding the FileDownloadActionListener to 'true' which didn't work. I tried to surround it with a Go Link instead of a command link but that gave me NullPointerException's, I think because you can only use a component which has an 'Action' property?

Spry Data does not display in browser window.

Using CS4 I followed "Building a photo album with the Spry framework" by Don Booth.
I can run gallery.html in Dreamweaver CS4 “Live View” and it works, but does not work in a browser. Does not work in “Preview in browser” from Dreamweaver nor IE8 nor Firefox. The file structure online is same as in working site.
I briefly see the design screen then just an empty browser window with no images.
I'm trying to run this from another index.html but can't get it to work even running gallery.html.

Firefox toolbar displays only, browser window missing?

When I launch Firefox the browser window opens as expected. However only the toolbar, bookmarks and search bar are displayed. There is no browser window display, it is simply not there. In other words there is no way for me to see the internet using firefox, I have tried resetting, however there is no way for me to select the reset button, because their is no way for me to see it. I have even tried reinstalling, but continue to have the same problem. Please help, thank-you.

Filter files by extension on browse windows

Hi,
in a servlet I have a form where I can upload files from the hard disk. There is the classic "Browse" button. When I click on it I can choose the file on a browsing windows.
I want to limit the choose of the file only to pdf files.
How can I make it to show only pdf files?

I don't think you can do this. I could be wrong, but I've never seen it done. Your Java is running on the server and what you're talking about is controlling something on the client. Anyway, if it is possible to do what you're trying to do, it wouldn't be something you do in Java.

To explain in simple terms, i've done the following:
1. Stored the context table data in a XML format in a string variable
2. Converted the string variable to xstring format using fm 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
3. Job Open
4. Identify the Actual FM Name
5. Genarate Form
6. Job Close
7. Bind data (fpformoutput-pdf) to the PDF Source variable in context
Issue is, when i run application and download, i am only able to get a PDf with no data in it.
Interestingly, in debug mode, i am able to see some data.
Points to add: When i display in a PDF UIElement the output comes in two pages, and in debug mode when i see the variable FPFORMOUTPUT-PAGES, it has a value of 1.
May be am following the wrong approach or missing someting in code.

N95 downloading file without any notification. was...

Hi,
today, I've been making some pictures and during that, only a screen came up, with the info, that the file "n90..." was downloaded successfully. I don't remember, what was the exact file name, I just clicked OK on the phone, as I've been making pictures.
I tried to check on the phone via file manager or how it is called, if there is any file with a similiar name on the phone, but there isn't.
The only problem is, that I have by default always disabled Bluetooth, disabled Infra, disabled Wi-Fi.
I don't use the phone for surfing on the web at all and I did not schedule to download any file.
How come, that a file has been downloaded without any request of mine?
Do you think, that my phone was hacked? If so, how can I find that it was, or not?
If I do a firmware upgrade, will it remove everything from the phone and install it completely new? If not, then how can I remove the whole software and format the phone completely and install it again?

You could upgrade or re-install existing firmware on your N95 using Nokia Software Updater as it would erase existing data as this model does not have User Data Preservation feature. You can reset device to out of the box condition by keying in *#7370# on standby screen or format C: drive completely by carrying out the "Three finger reset" as detailed in previous post.
Your N95 doesn't download updates for software by itself and there is no facility for running such in the background as on a windows PC.

We discovered that the windows ftp program used to upload the files messed them up. Probably transfer as text or something.

If you look at your computer..in the same folder where Extended Script Toolkit application is installed, there´s a PDF called JavaScript Tools Guide.
This guide has a chapter that covers all the File and Folder methods and properties. Read it. This would give you a great overview of what you can do with Files and Folders

Printing pdf without opening new browser window

Hi,
How can i print (locally) multiple pdf generated on the server without having to open acrobat in the browser ?

Same here.
Worked fine under IE5.x to IE6, JRE 1.3.x to 1.4. OS used were W2k and WinXP, no prob here.
Now on some PCs the windows don't pop up anymore. No exception, no indicator of what's going wrong.
Any hints?

This works like a charm, but the problem is that the PDF is opened in current window instead of a new one. I checked posts on this problem on this forum but i haven't found any answer to my problem. As you can see i added some 'idiot' logs just to make sure i have no errors. I see them all in my log file and there is absolutely no error. I simply see the PDF in the same window.

My problem is that the parent form has 4 buttons and a grid.
3 buttons are Add/Edit/Delete for records in the grid. Only the 4th button is the Print report and this is the only one i need to open in another page.
Even if I create another page and I navigate to it, setting target of newly created page to open a new window will bring me the problem of having 2 windows to close once users wants to close the PDF which is kind of awkward.
What is your advice?
