Download jar file to web browser

I have a .jar file in a remort computer, which contains the online help of my System. Now I need to download this help file into my client browsers (because my system is a web based application).
Is there any one know a convenient method to over come this problem.

Use the HTML <object> element to embed a player. The exact HTML syntax depends on the desired player you want to run. Read the player's documentation for the exact HTML syntax.
If the file is just available at the public webcontent, there's no need for a servlet. Just give the player the URL to the wav file. Otherwise you need to write a servlet which reads it from disk and writes it to the response like as if it is available at public webcontent. Then give the player the URL to the servlet.
There's nothing where in JSF can be of any means for you here.

    For example say,

  • AdobeAcrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF Files in Web Browser...what do I need to do to fix this..

    I just got Windows 7 and have been having problems since loading it. Most of my drivers only go to Vista and don't recognize 7.
    I have trying to download some manuals from their website
    and keep getting this message; Adobe Acrobat/reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in Web Browser.

    Could I suggest a workaround for PDFs until a solution is posted? Open them directly in the Adobe application rather than in a browser tab.
    In your Adobe application(s), go to:
    Edit > Preferences > Internet
    Then uncheck "Display PDF in browser"
    (There are very few sites where having PDF integrated is really beneficial.)

  • Need to download JAR files from more than ONE HTTP-server ?

    Hello,
    We have a need to download JAR files for an application, from more than ONE HTTP-server, i.e. any specified HTTP-server in an extremely secure network.
    Does a solution exist for this requirement ? Is it possible to design a solution our selfes for this problem ?
    Best Regards
    Peter

    We have a need to download JAR files for an
    application, from more than ONE
    HTTP-server, That can be done using the extension element
    from within the resources element of the main JNLP.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/javaws/developersguide/syntax.html#resources
    The extension element should refer to another JNLP
    (on the other site) that refers to the Jars. The jar files
    in any such (foreign) JNLP need to be signed, and the
    JNLP files should declare itself as a <component-desc>.
    For any level of detail on using extensions/components,
    download the spec. mentioned in the second paragraph
    of that section linked above. Unfortunately I can find no
    web browsable form of the information.
    Here is an example though..
    http://www.javasaver.com/testjs/jws/04/glclock.jnlp
    This (sandboxed) screenaver demo comes off my
    javasaver site. It refers to the JOGL API via an
    extension element in the JNLP, that points directly
    to the JOGL site. You might notice the security
    warning that is produced mentions..
    Name:      JOGL
    Publisher: sun microsystems, inc
    Source:    https://jogl.dev.java.net
    ..i.e. any specified HTTP-server in an
    extremely secure network. I do not know about an extremely secure network,
    but if it is OK to launch a normal JNLP for an
    application with a 'main()' from the server, I guess
    it should be OK to launch extensions off it - you
    might need to set up some tests.

  • How to Show preview of adobe illustrator file on web browser

    Hi All....
    Is there any possibility to showing preview of adobe illustrator file on web browser through Flex or Flash or any other application.
    If any kindly suggest me.

    Hi Mylenium
    Thanks for all your suggestions..
    While Googling on this issues I come to know that Illustrator file can be exported in XAML format with the help of a small plug-in, and that XAML file can be use in Microsoft silverlight. Then we can preview our Illustrator artwork on web browser. Also we can select each artwork (line, point, shape etc) on design view (on Microsoft Expression Blend). This is what I required.
    Here is a link for Illustrator to XAML Exporter

    Don't you love it when people answer their own questions?
    Here's what I did:
    Add the following sections to the .project file-
    Under BuildSpec:

    <name>org.eclipse.jdt.core.javabuilder</name>

    <classpathentry kind="lib" path="WEB-INF/lib/cms-bindings-3.0.2.jar"/>
    <classpathentry kind="con" path="J2ee.runtime.m7"/>

    Hi Steven,
    Sorry for the late response, next time you can do this in a more simple way
    by launching Properties window (right click on project) and select Java
    Build Path, click on Libraries tab.
    Thanks

  • Location of downloaded .jar files?

    When I was using the java in the jre package, downloaded .jar files would go to ~/.java  I have switched to the openjdk6 package and I have no idea where downloaded .jar files go now... it seems as though they are cached in memory and not saved to disk at all.  Are they saved somewhere?

    openjdk and jre don't do the same.
    openjdk is a jdk (Java Development Kit) and jre is Java Runtime Environment.
    And the files should be downloaded into your download directory which you've either set manually or is maybe $HOME/Download.

    Hi BalusC,
    thanks for your immediate response.
    as you correctly pointed out its not XLS but a csv file that works fine.
    I just tried my luck for XLS file, but as you said it does not work for XLS file as well. original file contained images which were lost
    after the download and garbage characters got inserted in.
    I will have a look at the code you have given link of.
    but for reading/writing I am using inputstream/outputstream but doing that through reader and writer.
    like this
    br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(
    fileName.toString()), charsetName));
    and for writing
    outputStream = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(
    response.getOutputStream(), charsetName));
    you mean to say I should not use reader writer?

    <if necessary>
    - Close the application viewer/Change to the 'General' tab
    </if necessary>
    - Click the Temporary Internet Files 'Settings' button.
    - Click the 'Change' button to move the cache, and follow the prompts
    Of course, in that same dialog are controls for changing the compression level, and adjusting the maximum size, of the JWS cache - you are probably better off trying that first.

  • JAR files under WEB-INF but not in lib directory

    I am working with JDeveloper 10g and I have several jar files under WEB-INF/lib and other under WEB-INF/libEst.
    I have add this libraries to Project properties > Paths and it works fine when I run my aplication in local environment, but it fails when I deploy and run in the server.
    I have configured our deploy file to include these WEB-INF/libEst jar files, but when I deploy to our server, it seems to be that this classes included in these jar files are not reachable and they cannot be loaded and throw a ClassNotFoundException.
    Is it possible to have jar files under any WEB-INF subdirectory distinct of /lib?
    Why is it working in local but not in server?
    If someone can help me to configure this in order to deploy in server, I will be very grateful.
    Thanks a lot,
    Antonio.

    Hi Antonio,
    I think this document is what you are looking for: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/htdocs/how-to-servlet-warmanifest.html
    .. your manifest entries would look like
    Class-Path: WEB-INF/libExt/<jarName1>.jar, WEB-INF/libExt/<jarName2>.jar, ...
    Let me know if this works for you.
