Where the javaws stores downloaded jar files?

I met problem to start jnlp file in command line. System shows me error like "file system is full". So, I wonder where the javaws stores downloaded jar file. And how can I change it to an available directory. Thank you.

<if necessary>
- Close the application viewer/Change to the 'General' tab
</if necessary>
- Click the Temporary Internet Files 'Settings' button.
- Click the 'Change' button to move the cache, and follow the prompts
Of course, in that same dialog are controls for changing the compression level, and adjusting the maximum size, of the JWS cache - you are probably better off trying that first.

  • Location of downloaded .jar files?

When I was using the java in the jre package, downloaded .jar files would go to ~/.java  I have switched to the openjdk6 package and I have no idea where downloaded .jar files go now... it seems as though they are cached in memory and not saved to disk at all.  Are they saved somewhere?

openjdk and jre don't do the same.
openjdk is a jdk (Java Development Kit) and jre is Java Runtime Environment.
And the files should be downloaded into your download directory which you've either set manually or is maybe $HOME/Download.

  • Where does mail store downloaded photos

Where does mail store downloaded photos?

If I understood you... you can export your entire iPhoto library to an external Hard Drive? I could only see import option...
You're welcome. Yes, that is correct. In iPhoto, File > Export... > Select external drive.
You said your drive has to be specially formatted - is that for if you want to export your photos to that drive? Or do you mean if you wanted the iPhoto library to be located primarily on the hard drive?
I meant the latter > specifically, your external drive would need to be formatted in this manner if you wanted your primary iPhoto library to reside on an external drive and function correctly. This format is the format of your MBP's internal drive.
Format the drive as FAT32 using disk utility to make the drive universally compatible between OSX/windows. Place the JPEG images on the drive. Transfer between machines with no problem.

  • Need to download JAR files from more than ONE HTTP-server ?

    Hello,
We have a need to download JAR files for an application, from more than ONE HTTP-server, i.e. any specified HTTP-server in an extremely secure network.
Does a solution exist for this requirement ? Is it possible to design a solution our selfes for this problem ?
    Best Regards
    Peter

We have a need to download JAR files for an
    application, from more than ONE
HTTP-server, That can be done using the extension element
from within the resources element of the main JNLP.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/javaws/developersguide/syntax.html#resources
The extension element should refer to another JNLP
(on the other site) that refers to the Jars. The jar files
in any such (foreign) JNLP need to be signed, and the
JNLP files should declare itself as a <component-desc>.
For any level of detail on using extensions/components,
download the spec. mentioned in the second paragraph
of that section linked above. Unfortunately I can find no
web browsable form of the information.
    Here is an example though..
    http://www.javasaver.com/testjs/jws/04/glclock.jnlp
This (sandboxed) screenaver demo comes off my
javasaver site. It refers to the JOGL API via an
extension element in the JNLP, that points directly
to the JOGL site. You might notice the security
    warning that is produced mentions..
    Name:      JOGL
    Publisher: sun microsystems, inc
    Source:    https://jogl.dev.java.net
..i.e. any specified HTTP-server in an
extremely secure network. I do not know about an extremely secure network,
but if it is OK to launch a normal JNLP for an
application with a 'main()' from the server, I guess
it should be OK to launch extensions off it - you
might need to set up some tests.

  • What is directory where I can put in jar file without specify classpath ?

    hi,
Is there any directory in weblogic similar to the directory of WEB-INF/lib/ where I can throw a jar file in without specify classpath explicitly.
The reason I'm looking for such directory is :
-- I do not want to specify classpath explicitly
-- I'd like it outside of an application so that it stay even if the application redeployed.
    Thanks

    Hi Aacc,
The domain library directory that you are looking for is usually $DOMAIN_DIR/lib, for example "C:\Oracle\WLS_Middleware10.3.4\user_projects\domains\test_domain_1\lib" (Windows) or "/u01/weblogic/domains/my_domain/lib" (Linux/Unix).
The jars located in this directory will be picked up and added dynamically to the end of the server classpath at server startup. The jars will be ordered lexically in the classpath. The domain library directory is one mechanism that can be used for adding application libraries to the server classpath.
You can override the $DOMAIN_DIR/lib directory using the -Dweblogic.ext.dirs system property during startup. This property specifies a list of directories to pick up jars from and dynamically append to the end of the server classpath using java.io.File.pathSeparator as the delimiter between path entries.

  • Finding the source code from Jar file

    Hi,
I am a beginner java programmer but have been entrusted with learning our company's Java application. The architect of the application is not forthcoming in sharing information and so I need help in tracing the source code for the application. I know where the .jar files are stored but I don't know where the actual .java or .class files are stored.
In the .profile file, I see the classpaths set to various jar files. eg.
    CLASSPATH=$PATH:/eaid01_apps/merc01/libs/tools/java/drivers/bin/eaiRun.jar
When I view this jar file with command "jar tf eaiRun.jar", it displays all the files under it. Onc such listing is as following:
    citi/eai/EAI.class
    citi/eai/Interface.class
I want to go to that specific directory on our file system which is storing these .class or.java file. From what I have learned about packages, I should find some folder called 'citi' ,'eai'.
However I am not able to find these folders anywhere on file system. Is there a way I can find where the actual souce code is by looking at the jar files.
Please help. Let me know if you need more information.
    thanks,
    Anand.

Is there a way I can find where the actual souce code is by looking at the jar files. No, in general you can't, you should ask the architect that you mentioned earlier. The name of the source file is sometimes stored in the .class file for debugging purposes but that's unlikely going to help you find the files.
You should also ask if he/she has got any documentation of the system. It's often a lot easier to follow documentation written in human language than program code written in a programming language. There could be documentation in a format similar to this: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/

  • What is the advantage of a JAR file?

what are the advantages of a JAR file?
    is it faster to compile?
tell me why it does exist...
    thanks

There should be lots. From the top of my head:
    1) Compressed jar files are faster to download.
    2) Browser only needs to open a single connection to download one jar files instead of multiple class files.
    3) All class files are present at execution instead of being downloaded on a needs-basis which usually causes delays in the applet.
    4) Jar files can be signed.
    5) User doesn't need to juggle around several files at once nor do they need to deal with folders.
Of course there are disadvantages as well so you should weigh your options before diving in.

  • Where to put third-party jar files

ok i've made some classes that i use to filter file types for when the user needs to open a file, but i've just been putting the classes used for filtering in the project i'm working on and i was wondering where i would put a jar file that contains those classes so that i could include them in programs. for example like you include java.awt.

Create a Jar from those classes and place it in the lib/ext folder of your JRE.

  • When I go to update my software using the app store download, it always asks for the previous user's ID, not mine.  Please help!

When I go to update my software using the app store download, it always asks for the previous user's ID, not mine (my IT guy at school's-I am a faculty with admin priviledges).  I have signed in as me, have set the main preferences login user as me,and everywhere on the laptop I can use my apple ID except here.  It always shows me a greyed out ID of my IT.  How can I reset this to my ID? It doesn't give me an option to change the user ID, only a link to reset password.  I reset it, but it did not change the problem.  Can someone help me?

It's not an ID problem, it's an ownership problem.
When someone uses their personal Apple ID to buy and download content, the content is licensed to them and has their Apple ID engrained in it's DNA. It is an anti-piracy program. And when that personal Apple ID is used to setup a new Mac, it involves the Mac itself, the shipping OS and any pre-installed apps as well.
It's not the correct way to handle Macs that belong to a business or an institution. And had it been handled correctly they would not now be in this predictument needing a drastic remedy.

  • How do you know the version of a JAR file ?

how do you know the version of a JAR file ?
is it what is written on MANIFEST.MF ?
for example i have a JAR file
    whose MANIFEST.MF has this
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Ant 1.4.1so, whats the version of this JAR ? 1.0 ?

    anyway, that was JSTL..jar.
Now, come to another JAR file....
    whose MANIFEST.MF has......
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Apache Ant 1.5.1
    Extension-Name: Struts Framework
    Specification-Title: Struts Framework
    Specification-Vendor: Apache Software Foundation
    Specification-Version: 1.1
    Implementation-Title: Struts Framework
    Implementation-Vendor: Apache Software Foundation
    Implementation-Vendor-Id: org.apache
    Implementation-Version: 1.1
    Class-Path:  commons-beanutils.jar commons-collections.jar commons-dig
    ester.jar commons-logging.jar commons-validator.jar jakarta-oro.jar s
truts-legacy.jarso, How do you believe whats the version now ? do u go with the comment "Manifest-Version: 1.0" or "Specification-Version: 1.1" ?
definitely, you would go with the "Specification-Version: 1.1" and declare this JAR as STRUTS 1.1
hmmm, so, if nothing is mentioned like above should we follow the MANIFEST version as the JSTL version ? in my earlier example i did not find any comment on ""Specification-Version" ......so , if anybody gives me that JAR , how do i decide whether its 1.0 specification or 1.1 specifucation compliant ?
can you tell whats the JSTL version of my earler example JAR file ?
