Download MP3 from Web

I want to download a MP3 file (the 2.30 MB version) from this Web page, the recording "Uncle Josh and the Insurance Agent (1903)":
http://www.archive.org/details/CalStewart_part1
But when I click on it, I get a Safari screen that plays the music. How do I download the music to iTunes?

I don't have a "right click" mouse. When I click on the link ("2.30 MB"), all I get is a Safari Web page that plays the music.

  • Trying to download .mp3 from web into Flash, am clueless.

Okay, this is the code that I currently have. It's a small demo file right now, but in essence it's passed a URL to an online .mp3, which is then downloaded and hypothetically played. That doesn't seem to be working, as no sound is played and the id3 information comes up blank. Does anyone have any ideas? I do apologize if this seems basic, I'm relatively new at this. Thanks in advance!
    stop();
    var song:Sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("http://x.mp3"));
    song.play();
    trace(song.id3.TPE1 + " - " + song.id3.TIT2 + " on " + song.id3.TALB);
edit: Added the second end parentheses to line 2, that was a transcription mistake.
As well, I have a suspicion that the problem has to do with my host, FileFreak. If anyone could say if that's the problem, or has a recommendation for a better host for this purpose, I would appreciate it.

if the sound doesn't play you probably have an incorrect/typo url.
the data won't be accessible even with a correct url unless you have cross-domain policy permission (assuming that is cross-domain).

  • How download videos from web?

    Hello
I would like to download videos from web, exactelly from facebook pages, but i'm not able, who can help me?

If they are flash video then there a many flash video downloaders.  Do a search for "video download" on macupdate.com and you will find manu of them.
Many are specific to downloading youtube stuff.  Others are more general.  However, one of the most general (and overpriced) flash downloaders is Jaksta.
If the videos aren't flash, that's more of a problem, and may be specific to the kind of video it is and whether it can be downloaded.  Some sites protect against this being done.

  • Downloading .mp3s from the Web

    Hi all,
I've just encountered a slight problem on my BlackBerry 9800 Torch when downloading .mp3 files from the web.
What I often do is send the files to my Gmail address from my computer as attached files, then login to Gmail from my BB and download them onto my device there.
Thing is, it doesn't always work : some files go to the music section (which is where I expect and intend them to appear) but some mysteriously disappear, don't know where to look to find them.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated !
    Thanks
EDIT : I ended up finding them when I connected my device to my computer. Doesn't expalin where they went on the phone but at least I found them !

It's Safari 4 not Quicktime that causes this... Safari 4 doesn't support downloading non-embedded media. Safari now supports html 5 might be the reason why. Media in html 5 isn't handle by plugins. Use Firefox instead.

Can somebodey suggest what is the problem or any other solution for downloading files from url and saving them on the client?

  • Downloading MP3 in Web Browser

Should be a fairly easy one (I hope).
I'm on a website. Trying to download an ~11MB MP3 from a link. It works fine on my computer, but on the Pre I run into this.
On the site I have two options. Either the MP3 or a .cgi streaming file. Clicking on the MP3 causes it to change to a window that says "streaming" with a radio antenna on it, try for a second, then say "Error: There was an error playing the file". Is there a way to save to the device, or even to a specific folder on the device, like a "Save As" option?
On another note, the .cgi file downloads but opening it produces an "Unable To Open File: The file format is not supported" error.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The browser does not do "save as" currently - with the exception of images. When you tap on an image while holding down the Option (orange key on my Pre) you get an option to Copy to Photos.
An MP3 file will try to stream to playback but you have no current means to download the file from the browser. Personally I have used DrPodder for this purpose for MP3 podcast series.
The CGI file you encountered is a script file and of no use to the device. Often the MP3 file is being protected by the owner from being saved - they try to obscure the actual link to the MP3 file to prevent copying.

  • How to download movies from web with Quicktime Pro

How do I download movies to my harddrive from youtube and google video. Have quicktime pro, but I don't see down arrow when I watch a movie on the web. There is gotta be a way to this for a Mac. Somebody explain it to me, please....

Quicktime can't download videos from youtube. Youtube videos aren't quicktime videos they are flash flv's videos.
There's a few ways to download youtube videos:
Wail you have the youtube page open that has a video you want to download you open Safari's activity window and look for the flv's url (usually the largest file). Copy that url into Safari's download manager...
Or a much simpler way is to download MPEG-Streamclip, free. Copy the url of the youtube page into MPEG-Streamclip "Get URL" done...faster. You can either download the flv or mpg-4 (better quality than the flv) video from youtube using MPEG-streamclip.
    Here's M{EG-Streammclip down page http://www.squared5.com/
As for Goggle there a download button on the right hand side of the Google web page.

  • Downloading MP3s from Amazon

I downloaded an MP3 from Amazon. The .amz file went to the stacks Download folder. When I dbl click the file, iTunes opens but the song is nowhere to be found. I have the "amazon mp3 downloader app". The original .amz file is still on my desktop. Tried downloading another MP3 song; same thing happens...song doesn't appear in iTunes anywhere.
One of my playlists is "M3U Internet Stream"; I think that's Amazon downloads...but it's empty.
Running iTunes 10.1. I've downloaded several songs from Amazon in the past. Didn't have this problem until recently.

There doesn't appear to be any pattern to this, but when I am downloading new MP3s into iTunes (9.0.2) either from Amazon or eMusic, some of them come in normally and some of them come in without allowing me to edit any of the song information. This can happen even within one album, when all the songs are arriving in the library during the same download session. And yet some allow editing and some don't.
When I right-click on Get Info for either the album's folder or any of the individual files having this problem, it still tells me that I can read and write, under Ownership & Permissions.
Anyone have any ideas how to re-establish editing capability under these circumstances?
actually, i started a thread sometime ago about that exact same problem - with no result. in the end i waited it out and, since upgrading to iTunes 9.x, all is back to normal. no help to you at this point but ... just so you know you're not alone.
what you can try (and i did not at the time - so your milage may vary) is this by *Chris CA*
    +Quit iTunes.+
    +Open a Finder window.+
    +Go to \Music\ folder.+
+Right click the \iTunes\ folder and Get info.+
    +Go to the Sharing & Permissions tab.+
+Make sure your username has Read & Write privileges.+
    +Directly below are ( + ) and ( - ) signs next to a little gear with a down arrow+
+Click the gear and select Apply to enclosed items.+
    +Open iTunes then try again.+
does that work for you ?

  • Download mp3 from email

When I download an mp3 from an email on my iPhone 5, where does it go?

No. You will need an App that can directly handle MP3's .
    The Music App cannot.
Where does it say its downloading?   If it came as an attatchment its already on your phone, you just need to open it in an app that can handle it, so it would not need to download.
If its just a link to the mp3 file, then it would download in Safari, and then offer to open it in an App that can play it if you have one, otherwise it would not download.

  • Errors when downloading files from web sites

I cannot download files from Firefox anymore on my home computer. I click on the download link and it takes me to another page that is blank. I can download just fine w/o any problems from my work computer, download box/window appears just fine. I'm using the same Windows 7, Firefox 8.0 program and same website that gives me the error message from my home computer. Is there a pop-up blocker, cookie or plug-in that I need to turn off/on? How do I enable downloads so I can save to my home computer?

Clear cache and cookies and try again. Also, check your firewall permissions for Firefox 8

  • Downloading MP3s from the web with new quicktime

This new quicktime is proving to be really crappy. A band has posted a link to an MP3 to download but once I get to the site I can only listen to the song. With the old Quicktime Pro, you could click on a part of the playback controls to save the file.
I know you can normally option-click on the link that says song.mp3 and it will download the song to your downloads folder but this link happens to go to a tracker first so it's not a direct link to the song.
If someone could help me figure out how to download this song I'd appreciate it.
The band's page is here http://loscampesinos.com/2009/09/09/the-sea-is-a-good-place-to-think-of-the-futu re/ and the mp3 is located here http://www.wichita-recordings.com/download/The%20Sea%20Is%20A%20Good%20Place%20T o%20Think%20Of%20The%20Future.mp3
The only solution I found was to open Quicktime 7 and open the url and export as an MP3. That's a heck of a lot of work compared to the old way. I'm hoping that I'm just missing something simple.

It's Safari 4 not Quicktime that causes this... Safari 4 doesn't support downloading non-embedded media. Safari now supports html 5 might be the reason why. Media in html 5 isn't handle by plugins. Use Firefox instead.

  • Can't download .pdfs from web - Standard

Have standard 7.0 and it worked fine for years but recently it will not download pdf files from the web.  Locks up IE and Mozilla when I try.  Opens pdf's fine from local drive just a problem with the web downloads.  Removed and reloaded Acrobat 7.0.  No change.  Downloaded ActiveX control - no change.  Any ideas out there????

What version of Acrobat 7. Hopefully not 7.0.0 since there were many bug fixes. What version of Windows? What service packs? What version of MSIE? What version of Mozilla? Were there any recent Windows updates that you installed prior to things going wonky? Also, if running Windows XP, what firewall software and what virus protection?

  • Can someone download photos from web gallery?

Can someone download individual photos from my web gallery? I am posting about 40 photos in the web gallery.I want people that visit to be able to download the photos they want. I tried it and it is set to download the entire album compressed. The visitors probably will only want 1 photo. Maybe there is a better application for this type of use.
I am new to this and any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Yes, individual photos can be downloaded. Looks like you already have the Allow Downloading setting on since the entire album (compressed) is available.
If a visitor clicks on any thumbnail in an album, and loads the corresponding screen-sized photo, each photo has a little toolbar that fades in at the bottom where a down-pointing arrow is the button to download the individual photo. This will be the (up to) 6 megapixel-sized photo and not the screen-sized one.
