Downloaded Application Won't Delete..Help Needed!

This is probably the wrong category, but my issues didn't seem to fit any other categories either.
I downloaded an application, and since doing so my computer has been running much slower. I tried to delete the application, but the computer says i can't because the application is in use. The application doesn't show up in the finder, but it still says it's in use. I've tried restarting, but it still says it's in use even though i haven't opened it. I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone could give me on how to delete this program.

  • Is it possible to upgrade a 4 generation ipod touch to iOS7 from iOS6.1.6? It won't let me download applications without it. I need help.

    Daer whom this may concern,
         My bestfriend was using this 4th iOS 6.1.6 generation ipod because her iPhone was broken at the time. She gave it to me because my phone was stolen in October. I reset it and now it will not let me download applications like Snapchat, Messnger,Youtube,etc. It says it requires iOS 7 yet, all those type of apps were on the ipod before the reset.  I tried going to update the software but it said it was updated. I really need help.  I have no idea how apple work i just switched over from Samsung products.

  • Itouch downloaded applications won't run

    I have an Itouch with the 2.1 operating system. I got it a month ago and everything ran fine. I downloaded several free applications on there and now suddenly, none of them work. Everything else works, its just when I try to run the applications, they start and just stop. They say they are free apps in the Apple store. My first thought was they were demo versions. I'm trying to run Paper Football Lite, Four Free, Astro Tilt, and others. Can anyone help me figure out why they won't run? Everything else runs fine.
    Thanks!

    I got an iPOD touch last week and have same problem. About 7 FREE apps, and 1 Paid for now bring up the splash screen and then it goes back to main screen - they just don't run. My touch sync fine with my authorized macintosh using my valid .MAC account, etc... Also, just upgraded the touch to 2.2 and no help.
    Here's the strange thing... If I download another application - anything - all the applications start working again. I can't find a rhyme or reason, but after a few days they all stop working. I download another app - and they all work!
    Anyone?

  • Yosemite failed to download and won't delete from launchpad?

    Hey,
    I have tried downloading Yosemite several times on my macbook pro, and each result has failed. The download starts off, but the the message "download has failed, check the purchased page" comes up. Also, i can't delete the "paused/failed" version of Yosemite from my launchpad. i have to shut down my laptop for one to delete. So for example, i could try downloading Yosemite 3 times in one day, each try failing, and each fail appearing on my launch pad. To delete them, i would have to shut down my laptop three times for all three copies to disappear.
    does anyone know what could be the cause of this problem, or the solution?

    Have you deleted the installer in the Applications folder?

  • ITunes downloaded applications won't start on my iphone

    Hi there, I have updated my iphone to the new version of 3.1.2 and I have noticed that any applications downloaded from itunes, whether it was through my pc or the iphone, do not start on my device. are there any suggestions on what I should do?

    Have you rebooted your device by holding the power button and swiping the top red slider to shut down first?
    I've seen small instances of that where the app crashes cause this...
    Otherwise, I'd suggest that you go back into iTunes and do a re-restore process on the phone again... Somehow something didn't occur accurately if the reboot doesn't help.

  • Audio Won't delete HELP!!!

    I've tried detaching the audio from the clip and pressing delete, reducing the volume to 0%, even starting the whole project over again and when i go to watch the video in full screen or export it and watch it, the audio is still on all the clips. please help urgently!!

    I have the same exact problem. I read another post that said to take out all the custom slow-motion that I did, and just use the set tick marks of 50/100/200% but that did not work either. I wanted this video to be a christmas present so i agree I need help urgently on this!

    As my friend littleshoulders said, you are out of luck unless you have at least 10.3.9.
    There are several other minimum requirements, as well.

  • System won't load (help needed)

    Hello!
    I have a PIII 600 computer which I don't really need, but I decided to make any use of it with Archlinux. The problem is that even before I cleared my hard drive, the only thing I had been able to load on it was Windows ME in a safe mode (I don't know if that's the correct name for this mode, as I was using Polish language version).
    But I managed to run the Arch installer using acpi=off option. Now, when I turn the computer on, I can see the Grub menu, but no matter what I choose, the system stops loading and just does nothing. I had the same sympthom when I used the installer without acpi=off option (or with any other).
    Can anybody tell me, what kind of problem (I guess it's my hardware) do I have? Is there a way to run the system I have installed right now, maybe using command line in Grub?
    Some additional info: I have 128MB SDRAM DIMM (Windows was saying it was 126, but my bios finds more than 131 000 bytes), SoundBlaster 128, nVidia Riva TNT2, 17-inch LCD working at 1280x1024, a PCI wifi card, a radio ISA card. I can't run Archie nor memtest.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Wiki is your friend - http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Main_Page
    I do not mean to be mean, it's simply inefficient to try and answer all the questions you _will_ have while trying to configure Arch to your liking, especially since Wiki covers most of them, and covers them well.  If you come across a problem that's not covered in the wiki post here and we will definitely try and help you

  • Audio Won't Work: Help Needed!(SB Liv

    Tonight I came to my computer and found that the audio wouldn't work. I ran Creative diagnostics, and the first message was that I needed to "reinstall drivers." The second test failed at hardware check, saying no hardware was detected. So I went to Device Manager and it indicated that it was all there. So then I went to Creative's website to check for drivers, after Windows came up with nothing. I found out that there's nothing. So then I decided to do a "Repair" with my Creative Soundblaster Li've! CD. That didn't work either. Then I just did a "Remove", and oddly enough, when I rebooted, it was all still there. In All Programs, in the task bar, it was still there. But only this time I couldn't run diagnostics again because it said that there is missing information or something. So the removal didn't work properly, and ended up removing certain vital components. This left me one step back!
    What should I do? Go into Add/Remove Programs and get rid of all Soundblaster components, or get my Resource CD and reinstall sound drivers from it's Should I retry with the Soundblaster CD?
    Note: I also opened up my PC after it was suggested by Creative Diagnostics earlier that I check my sound card's physical connection to my machine. I couldn't find anywhere to unscrew the card, so I just put a light amount of pressure on it to make sure that it's fastened in there properly. It seemed absolutely fine. Although I wonder why I couldn't figure out how to remove it.
    Also note that I tried system restore, and to no avail.
    I honestly don't know what to do at this point. Can anyone help me?!
    Thank you!Message Edited by VenaSera on 02-08-200802:26 AM

    Hi,
    Try uninstalling the sound card following the steps in the article below:

  • Application won't delete

    I had a printer application that loaded on start up on my mac. Now that I've changed printers I dragged the application to the trash and made sure it is no longer in my application folder. However when I boot up my system I still see it in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the status bar but just greyed out. I made sure it's not in the start up programs list and I can find no trace of it in any folder. What else do I need to do to get rid of this application?
    Thanks

    Hi, thanks for the info. I found the solution. I used a third party app called Apptrap to get rid of it. Searching the net I found that I needed to rename the Spanel file names. I had a Samsung printer then reboot my machine. After renaming the filenames, Spanel was no longer "in use" and I was able to drag and drop nicely into the trash! Phewww what a headache...

  • 60G IPod Photo Deleting Help Needed

    I have deleted all but 4 pics from my IPhoto and want to delete ALL of them from my IPod. I've looked everywhere for help on deleting pics from my IPod but can't find anything anywhere. Someone?

    Lipstick,
    Do you want to format the iPod? you can do so with disk utility (Apllications>Utilities>Disk Utility). Otherwise, I would use an iPod updater and do a restore which is almost a format.
    hope this helps.

  • Cocoa UI application and fork(). Help needed!

    Hi! I'm writing Cocoa application which use fork() to create child process (I can't use NSThread). I'm trying to display new window from child process. I have a subclass of NSWindow and .nib. In child process a call this code:
    MyWindow *win = [[MyWindow alloc] init];
    [win showWindow];
    showWindow is a method in my class MyWindow:
    - (void) showWindow{
    [NSWindow loadNibNamed:@"MyWindow.nib" owner: self];
    [win makeKeyAndOrderFront: nil]; //win is variable that "handles" entire window: id win;
    When I run my app I can see:
    <NSInternalInconsistencyException> Error (1002) creating CGSWindow
    I found that this exception comes while doing alloc - init.
    Any ideas how to create window in child process after fork()?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    As you've probably found out, the distributed database test case is easy to set up and test. Most knowledgeable database developers could knock up a test case in less than an hour.
    For the XML scenario, not being an XML expert I'm not too sure exactly where to start. I know that Apex can create reports based on a web service. This is a standard open architecture whereby a consumer, such as your Apex report, can make a call to a remote provider for information. The provider then sends back the information in the form of XML which the Apex report then interprets to produce a report.
    Typical providers would be anyone wishing to distribute information for unknown consumers. A typical provider could be a cinema chain which wants to publish session times for movies and a typical consumer in this case may be a web site that provides cinema session times for the public by querying all the cinema chains in your city. This assumes that all the cinema chains have provided web services for this information and that the cinema session times website knows how to consume them. This is great because it is an open standard across the internet, but it is not very fast or secure.
    In your case, I would doubt that each faculty database system is set up as a web service provider. You would then have to work out how to place a call to each database in order for it to process the request and return with an XML file for you to consume. I would call this reinventing the wheel of distributed database technology.
    I can understand your need to prove your case, but I doubt whether this forum will be able to provide you with a lot of information in order to get your XML test case up and running. Perhaps you should try posting on one of the XML related areas in this forum. You may get more technical information, but I fear you may also get the same reaction of why are you even considering XML in this case.
    Regards
    Andre

  • My Gnutella Limewire application won't open. help!

    Ive been running Gnutella Limewire Basic file sharing program for a few years now and never had any problems but for about a month everytime i try to to open the application, it pops up in the dock, bouncs for about 3 seconds and disapears. ive tried trashing prefrences and un-installing and re-installing and nothing works, the same thing keeps happening...any suggestions?

    I'm afraid I'm with Nick on this one. On the off-chance that you are using it legally - I have yet to see that - it's probably telling you that your Shareware time has run out.
    This application also has a bad reputation of messing up computers. I'd trash it. Really ... I'm not kidding. Try a search using Limewire on the general forum. You'll see.
