Downloading External Resources in Applet to Load Game

Hey all,
I was wondering how I could download and use separate packages from my applet to use when making a game. For instance, the user would load up my main applet, which would then present a "loading" screen that shows the progress of the download of the external resources, such as images and sounds.
Any ideas?

If I manually add file directory to the global security

I would first force all applications to close then power cycle the device. Once this is done test accessing Game Center.

Flash doens't load external resources after refresh in Windows Firefox

Hi guys,
We're encountering a weird problem here. Implementing a Flash header that fades in&out through some external assets via XML... Works fine in all browsers on Windows & Mac, except, after refreshing the page in Firefox for Windows (XP, 7,...) it doesn't load the external resources anymore and we get a blank SWF. Monitored this in Firebug.
Flash Player has the latest version. We also have this problem on a local host.
It probably has something to do with caching, but the strange thing is that it only goes wrong in FF on a Windows machine. Also works fine again after a hard refresh.

UPDATE: Removing wmode: transparent from the Flash attributes seems to fix it.. Weird. Unfortunately this attribute is really necessary for the lay-out..

How load accounts in external resource?

I configured external resource adapter(with database as datastore). It works fine - I can create and update accounts. Now I want to load existing accounts from file (and perform reconciliation). How I can do it? (except writing java program that will connect to datastore through jdbc)

Step 1 : Sign is as Administrator or Configurator (if you sign in as End-User, you cannot access the "Accounts Tab")
Step 2 : From the Main Menu, select the "Accounts" Tab
Step 3 : Select "Load From File"
Step 4 : Use the "Browse" button to select the File you want to load from.

Java Applet Wont Load Past 80%

Someone is running a java based paint chat off of their home system, so far all of us have been able to load it all the way, except for one person who can't seem to get the applet to load past 80%.
She says she's got the latest update for OS X and she's gotten it to load before. She's tried updating Java and restarting her system. We don't think it's a firewall, seeing as other people can access it and she doesn't think she's running one.
Any thoughts on what the issue could be would be greatly appreciated.

If there's no problem, she should look for a cause other than Java/applets.

BPM Studio-Issue with Creating External Resources - Oracle Database RAC

Sure you've probably tried this but here goes...
Use the Oracle Driver that comes with Oracle BPM to integrate with RAC.
To integrate to Oracle RAC, you're typically given something like this by the DBA.

When defining the External Resource for Oracle RAC check the “Advanced” checkbox (not the tab) and insert this text into the “Database” field:

Let's get to the bottom of this kalkade! Does the internet work on your home wifi? Do you receive an error when you attempt to download? As commonsense101 mentioned, have you had a chance to try this on another wifi connection in effort to find the root cause? While away from home your phone is only inquiring if you want to connect to a nearby wifi. When you decline it will proceed and use your Verizon Wireless data. Thanks.

I discovered the solution. The external drive I was saving it to was formatted as FAT32. In that format, the largest files can only be 4GB, which explains why it kept stopping at 4GB. I backed up all the files then reformatted it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), this is possible since I am on an iMac.

Loading games on 5140 from pc

I'm new to connecting the phone to the pC. After much problems with CA-42 and nokia suite i'm now connected. I am loading games onto my phone via nokiasuite installer. however i cannot get all games to load. I have no problem ieth games with a file extension ending with .jar which i take to be java. When i open these files all that appears is the nokia suite icon, which i click and the game is loaded fine. Other games which i've downloaded off the net as winrar compressed files, i'm having trouble with. These files are much larger containing multiple folders. There is a crude version of the nokiasuite installer icon that is 1Kb. Trying to install this does nothing. All these icons for every game are found under a META-INF folder. In install applications in nokia suite, no information is listed in this folder, or any of the other folders to this game. Is the game in the correct format for nokiasuite? If not is there a way of converting it? Is there a idiots guide to reslove my problem , or can anyone please help!

Are you sure your N82 is a genuine nokia and not a counterfeit? Counterfeits don't work at all with PC suite.
An easy way to see if you N82 is real or not is to use the TV out cable that was supplied in the box. Only real N82's have TV out.
But it's also possible that something on your computer is preventing PC suite from working.
Another method to install programs is to send the files by bluetooth from the PC to the phone. The files will appear in the phones inbox and you can install them from there.

The clients are based on JRE 1.5.0_10, IE sp2, windows XP professional sp2.
I've been working with this annoying problem for a week, and Oracle support team had spinning around the trouble without a valuable working idea.

How to cache external resource bundles?

Hi,
I am using Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923 on Windows 7.
We have used external resource bundle for our ADF application using loadbundle which extends java.util.ListResourceBundle.
Is there any way to cache these external resource bundles? and If yes when/how it will get cached?
We have found following link:

To achieve your requeriment you can try next solutions:
- Add a external path where you are going to let your Resource Bundle in your Manage Server Classpath. For example: /language (into this folder put your baseName folder's and properties file).
- Build your custom Java Class to load Resource Bundle in a configured classpath or path.
- Try to do a similar solution like WebCenter Spaces copying your resource bundle in MDS path and updating/getting it with WSLT scripts.

Yahoo chess Applet not loading in Firefox

When I am at Yahoo Games, the pop up window for Chess opens, but never loads. I tried it in IE and it works fine - so the problem comes down to Firefox.
When I click on a games room - and window pops up and asks to punch in a code (to avoid spam). This pop up works fine, I then proceed to punch in the code and then I go to another pop up window where the Chess Game normally loads. Only now it doesn't load at all.
it says to... Wait 3 minutes for applet to load... Click '''here''' if applet fails to load. Normally I've never had to wait 3 minutes before (ever) - now, even if I wait, it still doesn't load.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still not working in Firefox! I can play fine in IE. I have tried everything from uninstalling java and reinstalling, clearing cache, etc... nothing works! Is there not anyone at Firefox that knows of a solution?

Trouble Loading Game

I'm having trouble loading EA's Rail Simulator on my Satellite A100.
On my first attempt I got the message insufficient free space, so set about deleting unused programs and burning pics to CD.
Soon freed-up about 6.5GB.
Tried again, got as far as entering the key number and on pressing return it just hangs. After about 20 secs the drive stops. Thats it!
Have loaned the game to a friend with vista PC and it performs fine.
My drive works well for burning CDs, and I have loaded other programs using the drive, just as a check. All is OK.
Have tried loading game using remote LG CD/DVD drive, but the result is the same.
Have used ccleaner to check/clean drives, all to no avail.
Any suggestions?

BTW, usually "download" refers to getting a file from a network (usually the Internet), while typically when something comes from a CD or DVD (such as this) is installed.
If your kids bought you a new copy of the game (or you bought one), you should be able to create an account that comes with one free month of service that would allow you to play at the same time as your kids. (BTW, if you DO create an account for yourself, make sure to check out Blizzard's Recruit-A-Friend program before you do so. Once you create an account, it's too late to get the recruit-a-friend goodies.)
How large are the C and E drives, and how much free space is on each of them?
Not sure why the E drive is getting involved, usually a person has to explicitly choose a drive other than C.
Also, once a machine has WoW installed and fully patched, it is possible to just copy the game directory to another machine. (FYI to Best Buy moderators, since WoW is a subscription-based MMOG, copying like this is fully legal in this particular case - in fact Blizzard allows a person to download the game files from their website for free.) In your case I would try this, but there are a WoW-related few registry keys you might need to remove first. I don't remember which ones at the moment... I'll look them up tonight.
