Downloading files from Internet

Hi,
Can Someone Help me With This Problem ....
I have an Application that gives the User an option to download content from a given url address : eg www.yahoo.com
(This refers the yahoo home page);
It should be able to download the html source code, images, sound files or any file that is been used in that url address. So I can recreate the complete html page to show the user the web page that was downloaded.
I used a file InputStreamReader to download the html source code.
But I have no idea on how to download the files that html page is using
image files and sound files etc etc.

You will need to parse the html file looking for
<a> tags and find the value of the href attribute.
You will then have to decide if it is an absolute or relative path, and
build the appropriate new url request.
Goto 10
This isn't a particularly easy thing to do, as
(1)you may not know when to stop following links
(2)url's maybe servlets,etc, that will fetch html pages, which the local versions will need to be patched to point to the generated html files, not the servlet url.

Cannot Download files from internet on my main account

I have had my macbook for about 3 months, and recently i havent been able to download files from the internet on my main account...i have had to switch between accounts. Is there anyway to fix this? Or to transfer all my files from one account to another? any help would be greatly appreciated

Any error messages? What happens when you try to download an item? Have you tried downloading to a specific, non-desktop, folder?

Downloaded file from internet and now I can't find it

So my dumb *** downloaded a file from the internet today from an untrusted source and now I can't find it anywhere except for when I click on the downloads button on the safari web browser (i.e. )
I clicked on the file it shows that I downloaded and this pops up
"Safari can’t show the file “4-More-PeopleAreUsingCellPhonestoListentoOnlineRadioinTheirCars.xlsx” in the Finder because “4-More-PeopleAreUsingCellPhonestoListentoOnlineRadioinTheirCars.xlsx” has moved since you downloaded it."
I looked for it in the finder window under the "downloads" folder, looked under "All my files" sorted it by the date added, clicked on the magnifying glass next to the only place I can see it and the file still didnt show up in finder.
help, anyone?

I have no idea why it disappeared from your Mac. But I trust this reassures you there does not seem to be anything malicious about the file.
You might want to search on your Mac using some of the key words in the file.
Not that I am denying the results but out of curiousity how did you manage to download and locate the file when I didn't provide you with the website from which I downloaded it from?
The thing is, what I supposedly downloaded wasn't supposed to be an xlsx file nor any type of text file for that matter. I got it from a website called ryushare.com.
I also tried to search for it with the use of the key words in the file you found and no luck. Any way to know for a fact it's not going to affect my computer? Also, any way I can look for the file and delete it through terminal?

How to get the functionality of downloading files from internet on my jsp

i have a jsp page that lists me the names of the zip files in a paricular directory on a remote computer over the network.wat i want to do is download those files.so when i click on them it gives me "page cannot be displayed" error.but when i go to that remote machine and run the same jsp to list me the files and download the same it allows me to download the files.but i want the same functionality over the network.so i think that that link is looking for that file locally instead of looking for them over the network.so is it so that i need to give the ip of the remote machine from where i want to download the file and if yes then how and if no then is there any way that i can do it some other way.
in short this functionality is like downloading some file from the net like downloading software or music....i want to incorporate the same on my jsp.please guide me.

My iMac freezes up when download file from internet

When I download any filed from the internet (using safari or firefox) my computer freezes up. Help!

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

i confused wit my MBP, becaus MBP can't download file from internet ( via USB modem & Wi-fi)..

I was able to download the trial from rarlab.com. What happens when you click on a download? You need to make sure you select to download the Mac version. The .exe files do not run on a Mac.

The other two sites also work for me. What exactly happens when you click on a link to download? Do you know how to find your downloads?

Check your browser settings.

It should unzip if you double-cick.
What are you seeing happen when you do that?
Select a .zip file in the Finder and Get Info (cmd-i). What is set for it to Open With. It should be Archive Utility.

You can use this in adater-module, JAVA-Mapping or UDF

HELP!!!i can download files from the internet but i can not open them,help!

I am running mac os x 10.5 i can download files from the internet but adobe reader 9 keeps telling me they can not decode them,( Adobe Reader could not open 'dap93.exe' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged) (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). help!

Adobe Reader does not open .EXE files, it opens .PDF files. If you were on Windows I would tell you to fix the file association, but I have no idea how to do that on a Mac.

I tried so much ways, i searched Function modules, classes, transactions ...
But i have not found a way to download and XML file from internet like "http://www.tcmb.gov.tr/kurlar/today.xml" to internal table.
is it possible to do ?
if not, i will do with Delphi and RFC but i dont want to do this outside from SAP.

Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
