Draw frames in smartforms

Hi all,
Is it possible to use some costomized frame other than the predefined frame-pattern in SMARTFORMS? I just want to draw some frame like what can be done in standard report.
Thanks & Regards,
Chen Chang

Hello Chang,
NO it is not poosible to use custom frames.
Work around could be to create a BMP and uplaod in background (Yes, it will only work if it is a template i.e STATIC).

  • How do you make JSF draw frame in browser w/o JSP & HTML ?

    Hi all,
I already have small web application which uses HTML & JSP and I want to convert it to JSF based application.
I've read O'Reilly JSF books written by Hans Bergsten and in Chapter 15 he states that you can use pure Java classes only (without JSP & HTML) in your web application.
My web application contains some frames. Since I only want to use pure Java classes using JSF what component should I use to draw frame ?
I use MyFaces implementation of JSF.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Setya

I don't know anything about myFaces, but as far as I know, there is no component to draw frames. The JSF book you read is correct to a degree... It's possible to write completely with JSF tags, but it can be cumbersome sometimes.
To output frame tags using a JSF tag, you can use one of two methods.
First, you can use the outputText tag with escape attribute set to false.
<h:outputText value="<FRAMESET blah blah blah>" escape="false" />The second way is to just wrap HTML in f:verbatim tags.
<f:verbatim><FRAMESET blah blah blah></f:verbatim>If using the second method, be careful not to have any other JSF tags inside the f:verbatim tags.
    Hope this helps,

  • Drawing Frames on forms

    Dear all
First of all I would like to Thank Engineer Francois Degrelle for his great efforts. Francois has created a java bean that draw frame on forms on runtime. this is the demo
    http://www.4shared.com/file/qAowkMhD/frames.html
the demo contains a form and jar file
the demo works fine in case the direction of the form is LEFT_TO_RIGHT
my application form is Bi lingual. User can modify the Direction on runtime to be RIGHT_TO_LEFT
the X position of the frame is not correct when changing the Form direction on runtime.
    this is my form
    http://www.4shared.com/file/mBHI0UQN/TESTTITLE.html
    Can any one help me.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello and thank you,
<p>Concerning the Java Beans grouped on this site, please do not ask questions on this forum. Send an email at [email protected] or ask the question on the dedicated forum</p>
Anyway, I have to confess that none of the beans I have created and stored on this site are tuned to work with Right to Left orientation :(

  • Drawing line in Smartform

    Hi All
I can create table using Table painter.
There will be 4 rows and having few columns in the table.
I would like to draw a line after 2nd row, so that when i take print of the form, A line should appear on paper after 2ns row of the table.
    How to do it..???
    Please explain me.......
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi,
If you select suitable patterns, line will come automatically.
Otherwise, you can use underscore or minus in text element while you are displaying the output.
Another way is to design a character in style in such a way that the text should be underlined.Use the style in output options for the text element.

    THANKS A LOT

    hi gopi,
1.For boxes in sf-Create a window node in the navigation tree of the Form Builder.
If you create the window in the Form Painter using the context menu, you can use the mouse to position it immediately.
Enter a unique name for the node and a description (for example, booked flights).
On the General Attributes tab select a window type. The window types Copies Window and Final Window are secondary windows with additional attributes. See also: Processing Windows

  • Dynamic graphic in smartform

    Hi All,
I have a requirment of displaying drawing in my smartform. But this drawing will be decided only during runtimme. I have used the third option 'DETERMINE GRAPHIC DYNAMICALLY'.I have used a variable 'bcol 'in form interface and through my driver program i am passing the name of the graphic stored in se78.Now i am passing it in the third option as '&bcol&'.
I am getting the message that 'GRAPHIC NOT FOUND'.
Please let me know that i am doing correct or i am missing something. Also is there some other way to call graphic dynamically stored in se78 in smartform.
    Thanks in advance.
    Binod Prakash

I think you have selected the variable for choosing between BMON and BCOL (monochrome and color graphic).
According to what you say (3000 graphics), I guess you have made a confusion.
To select dynamically the graphic name, you must first click the "triangle" button at the right of the NAME field (first line). You may not see immediately this button as it may be hidden by the graphical layout editor. Hide the editor and you will see the button.
Click this button and enter your graphic variable name (&bcol& is a weird name, instead use a name like &graphic_name&)

  • Frame Exact Synchronisation in FlashVideo

    Hi everyone,
after a rather lenghty post here a concise version ;-)
    The Task:
I have to draw a couple of shapes (for highlighting purposes)
on a each frame of a Video (in this case a FLV).
The specification is to be frame exact - and if not, to at
least appear so to the human eye.
    The Problem:
As of yet I have not found a way to access individual Frames
exactly. The whole Video decoding Process, as it seems, is
happening internally in the VideoPlayer Class.
    My Question is:
How is the Video decoding process for FLVs happening
    internally in the VideoPlayer/FLVPlayback Class?
Two possible answers I thought up:
    1) Its done by using ActionScript internally. This implies
that there's a Timer object somewhere triggering the Class to draw
a frame, which in turn means, I should be able to capture it during
the capture Phase once the VideoPlayer (of FLVPlayback) is on the
    Dispaly List.
Since I haven't been able to capture a Timer.TIMER_EVENT or
anything of the sort I'm not exactly sure (though I don't now if I
    might have missed something)
    2) Video decoding happens on a lower level using OS or lower
level functions/assembler routines/whatever and NO ActionScript is
invloved. This would imply its inherently impossible to get access
    to the frames.
Can anyone confirm this in one way or another?

    Thanks for your reply!
Unfortunately the prior encoding is not an option, since one
is supposed to dynamically show or hide multiple highlighting areas
    during the movie.
I think no 2) is the most likely case - I have tried
emualting frames by adding cuePoints, but since they weren't meant
for that purpose the system "under the hood" is unable to deliver
them fast enough (fastest I got was 200ms, and I would need 40 ms
when using 24fps) from encountering them in the FLV video to
reaching the eventlistener that would draw the shape.
Now I'm using cuePoints every 200 ms and in between those
cuePoints I draw frames "blindly" using a Timer Object.
Dynamically added cuepoints weren't very precisely triggered
(3 at once and then none, etc..) which led to a lot of jerky or
wobbly drawing. I've now tried using static Cuepoints, encoding
them during FLV encoding, and that works much better now.
Still its only a workaround - but I guess it won't get better
    than that.
Anybody else who could prove me wrong? ;-)

  • Rotoscoping techniques: Frame Animation vs Video Timeline

Hi. I am using Photoshop CS6 and CC.
I am looking for an easy workflow for rotoscoping a video (for the purpose of drawing on it to create animated look)
and came across two different techniques for achieving the same purpose:
    1. frame animation as explained here
    2. Video Timeline as explained here
seems to me the first technique is much more error prone.
I am a bit confused on the proper use of those 2 features - when to use which
as I see it Frame animation is for:
1.making GIF'S from your current layer stack
2.scanning a drawing by hand element that is supposed to appear in a stop motion fashion.
    and Video Timeline is for:
1.real editing with layers moving in different points in time (which really can't see why would you do that in photoshop instead of AE or Premiere)
    2.cell animation with onion skin
2.making blank video layer over a real one and create a live drawing.
any Insights will be greatly appreciated

    thanks for the reply JJ.
I think I have a better idea on what each tool is all about:
allow me to sum it up for anyone who will look at this and for me too.
this is a clarification of these different tools especially related to rotoscoping but not just.
    contributions would be appreciated
    Frame Animation
useful for controlling each specific frame in a sequence of animated frames.
in rotoscoping this is useful for instances where you want to work with many layers
thus preserving the capability to change your work with different layers containing different data.
for instance: hair, face, legs etc. like the following example here
also efficient in making GIF's like here
    Advantages:
    1. more layers - more control
    2. easy to make GIFS by changing each layers transformations like here
or here and would be cumbersome to do in Video Timeline
    Limitations:
    1. layout requires a bit of getting used to for instance: seconds for each frame and not overall frame rate - you have to select all of them to change them globally (there is a panel option for that though)
and also each frame contains all of the layers with only the specific ones visible and position differently (like layer comps).
if you are not careful you could make a mess of things by changing visibility of the wrong layers or worse
so - order, color labeling and grouping is paramount. an example of a good workflow is here
    2. you have to make your own shortcuts since next frame/previous frame/first frames don't have shortcuts.
    3. there is no audio
    Video Timeline
useful for  "classic" video editing - you get a timeline with layers
that you can trim and make transitions.
great for drawing on video or classic drawn Cell animation.
you can also insert a blank video layer and draw on it.
    as explained here
    Advantages:
    1. familiar timeline structure - easy to understand and not mess it up. you can change the framerate and work like a real video workflow.
    2. great for rotoscoping on video -  you could insert a blank video layer and draw frame by frame on the same layer making it easy.
    3. great for cell animation because onion skin features are an option
    4. keyboard shortcuts are a click way by changing the panel options to "enable timeline shortcut keys"
    5. there is audio
    Limitations:
    1. not as efficient as Frame Animation  for GIF animations or animation that requires a lot of layers or different kind of layers.

    hi gowrishankar,
if u want to dispaly data item wise than u should use table....when data varies dynamically u should use tables....
in this u need to define cells under table tab in that goto details...
in data tab u will have to loop on internal table...
and in pattern u will have select the patterns...

  • Creating Hyperlink in smartforms

    Hi
i want to create a hyperlink that can point to a particular URL . is there any way someone could suggest.
the only thing that i was able to find was a url option at the top right in the create->text area. But what i require is a hyperlink.
    thanks in advance.

    hi rahul
Create a Character format with underline in smartstyles, In main window create a text element and assign the character format for that element and instead of string or text elements give as many spaces as you want.
    or
Try with Line types, you should get it.

  • Best setting for gif animations

what is the optimal setting for animated gifs

Depends on your style and your training as an animator, and
what your project goals are: straight animation? interactivity?
e-cards? Traditional animators used to drawing frame-by-frame with
exposure sheets will feel more comfortable with Toon Boom Studio
(www.toonboom.com). It has far superior drawing tools and color
pallette management and timeline management than Flash. But if
you're used to Illustrator, that may make no difference to you. It
appears that the upcoming Flash CS4 will narrow the gap, as the
interface appears to include enhancements that will be more
familiar to traditional animators, not to mention IK, which Toon
Boom Studio doesn't have (the highly expensive Toon Boom Solo does
    have it).
That said, I think Flash is a great program for creating
cartoon animation. You may not think you're interested in
ActionScript programming at this point. I use Flash mainly for
cartoon animation and I resisted ActionScript for a few years. But
once you get used to Flash as an animation tool, and then decide to
dip your little toe into ActionScript, you'll find out what an
astounding tool it is, even for traditional animation, enabling you
to do things impossible in more traditional-oriented programs. Plus
now Flash and Illustrator are fairly well integrated, so you'll be
able to import and export between the two.
On balance, I'd go for Flash.
