Drawing game where images can be saved

Hi there,
I'm just about to start work on an application and I'd like to ask advice on the best method before I begin..
Basically you can make images using a series of small items. The images can then be saved so other users can view and rate them.
The other users can search for an image to view before creating one (by typing for example 'helicopter' in a search bar)
They can then view and rate any helicopters which have been created...
I can create an equation through flash to store the position of the images elements once they are created and load them back in (i think !)
So my question is, how would be the best way to do this.. it will be on quite a large site so I imagine there will be quite a number of images created...
Should I use PHP MySQL to search, load and display the images or is there a way I could save them inside flash (i.e in seperate files for viewing and searching) ?

Reardless of what the details of the design and interaction involve you should probvably pursue a server/database solution for storing whatever you can. Flash itself cannot store anything.

No, not directly.
Just thinking about that for a moment... do you really want to force an image onto your viewer's computer desktop? If you were watching a DVD and then found a lot of images that you didn't ask for on your desktop after you had finished, would that be a good experience?
What you can do is open an image in the default image viewer application (for a Mac that's generally 'Preview') by using DVD@ccess links.
Or you can go to a menu which acts as an information screen to let your viewer know there is a directory of images for them to access on the DVD (include a ROM folder in your project when you build it) and how they can get to it.
I'd be wary of forcing, or pushing, content onto a computer, personally...

Just write Draw into the MAS searchbox in the upper right corner and you will be presented with a plethora of drawing/sketching apps of varying abilities and pricing.

Why can't I draw over imported images?

If someone could explain to me (in simple terms-I've only been using flash since friday and I don't know the names ofthings properly yet) why I can't draw over impoted images? I've animated something on paper and scanned in the frames. When I import them to flash it either deletes the line as soon as I draw it, or if I create a new layer the drawing stays in all frames, not just one. Pllllllease help, I'm desperate!

When you create a new layer, you can use keyframes to display the image in just one frame. Add a keyframe just after the frame where the image should not be displayed. So rightclick in that frame, and click add keyframe. Then in the new keyframe you can remove the image.
I believe you can use Flash to convert bitmap images to vector images, but I haven't used that function since Flash 2, so I don't know if that still exists. The result might be useless though if the images is too complex. But if it's okay, then you can edit the image itself. Otherwise draw on a layer on top of the image.

It is not a bug, you might be using IE in Windows server 2012 and and browser might be restricting your site actions to respond properly.
Check this in a different browser or access site in a differ OS.

How do I drag an image or text box to the "workspace" off of my working file but where I can still see the image and text box for future use?
When I drag the item off of the trifold that I am creating, it just disappears but I still want to use it. I just need to move it out of the way to modify other portions of the document.

Add another page below the current one to use as a storage area. You can't use the grey area around the page for storing items you want to use later.
Go to the Pages Menu>Provide Pages Feedback if you would like to request this feature be added in future versions.

CS5 Illustrator images can no longer saved as a PDF

My CS5 Illustrator images can no longer be saved as a PDF.
Possible cause is because my .ai work got saved as CS6 version at school. Do I need to upgrade to CS6 in order to have my images saved as PDF?

Possible cause is because my .ai work got saved as CS6 version at school.
On the same computer? If you still have the original CS5 document(s) on your computer, whatever happened at school should have no consequence in this connexion.
If you saved the actual document(s) as CS6, you may have some issues, but that would include difficulty in opening with CS5; maybe you are only able to open as PDF.
So its sounds as if the expected issue would be the opposite of what (I believe) you describe.

I have converted several VHS video tapes to DVD's and want to work with them in iPhoto to create better versions.
How do I import the DVD files into iMovie?

This tip will show you how to import your home movie on DVD into iMovie 11 for editing. It will not work on commercial, copy-protected DVDs. (Ripping commercial DVDs is against the Terms of Use of the Apple Discussions).
DVDs are encoded by iDVD into MPEG2, which iMovie cannot edit. So you need to convert the DVD into a codec that iMovie can edit. For highest quality, I recommend that you convert the DVD to Apple Intermediate Codec. There is a free tool called MPEG Streamclip that will do this. You will also need to install the Apple QuickTIme MPEG2 Playback Component.
Here are the details.
1) Download and install the Apple MPEG2 QuickTime Component ($20) - available online from Apple.
2) Download and install MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5 (free).
3) Start MPEG Streamclip
4) Insert your DVD into your Mac. If DVD Player or Front Row starts automatically, quit those.
5) Open a Finder window. Navigate to the DVD.
6) Drag the Video_TS folder from your DVD and drop it into MPEG Streamclip.
7) If MPEG Streamclip offers to fix timecode breaks, say yes.
8) Use FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME to convert the files to Apple Intermediate Codec (or h.264 if you prefer)
9) Optional steps.
9a) Optional: You can deinterlace your footage in this step, if you like. If you don't know which is best, try a short clip both ways. I usually do not deinterlace.
9b) Optional: If you know the date and or time of the footage, name your file
clip-yyyy-mm-dd hh;mm;ss
(let mpeg streamclip provide the extension). This will provide metadata that iMovie will use to put the event in the right year and month.
9c) Optional: If you don't want to make one huge clip out of your DVD, you can make smaller clips by using MPEG Streamclip. Move the cursor to the "in" point of the clip, and press i. Move the cursor to the "Out" point of the clip, and press o. Then do steps 8 through 10 and repeat until you have done this for all clips you want.
10) Save the resulting file in a place where you can find it, like your Desktop.
11) Open iMovie.
12) In iMovie, choose FILE/IMPORT/Movies... and choose the file you saved in steps 8, 9, 10.
13) iMovie will generate thumbnails and you can edit.

To write events to separate folders, use "File > Export" and select the subfolder format "Event Name". But that will only backup the photos and not your iPhoto library and all the work you invested in organising it. For backing up, see: iPhoto and File Management

It may have been if you had autosave activated. I've never had that happen so I don't know where the file is put. I would expect Word would ask you if you wanted to retrieve a saved version when you next started it in those circumstances.

You can access Acrobat online services using this Link ( cloud.acrobat.com ) , although you might need to sign-in using your Adobe ID, before you can access those services.

I wish apple would on their next update, make it where you can put your pc games on your ipad and play them without having to be online.

Doubtful. PC games use a different operating system so they're not compatible. Your game manufacturers would h ave to make app versions of their games, so the burden is on them to be compatible with Apple, not for Apple to alter their OS to work with games.
