Camera Raw not working with Photoshop and Bridge CS6

Hi guys,
Had a hard-drive meltdown the other week and lost everything. I have re-downloaded and installed most of my important software, including the CS6 suite. I used to use camera raw alot with my .CR2 files and it worked fine for ages, now though, it doesn't work at all.
I have run an update and everything is up to date now, i've purged the cache and it's still not working, no preview on bridge or anything.
I have also tried going through the Camera raw updates on the Adobe website. I have tried deleting the plug in and redownloading it altogether too, no help.
Furthermore, when i try to open a .CR2 file through bridge into photoshop i get a message window:

No preview of files in Bridge:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Working with photoshop and iPhoto

I use Photoshop for my main editing platform, but have started to use iPhoto (recent mac convert) and have enjoyed the more integrated publishing capabilities.
My question: when I import photos into iPhoto from my Photoshop database on my laptop (same machine), is a entirely new file created?
My concern is over doubling the size of my database with has several thousand photos.
Are there any tutorials or other information about using both of these applications available?

In iPhoto 5 it would be best to work things the other way 'round to coordinate the two programs. Have iPhoto import and organize the photos. Use the edit in external editor command to send the images to Photoshop. Once done editing in Photoshop, save, and the changes will appear in iPhoto. It's a smooth, seemless workflow. iPhoto will create a backup image so that you can revert. The photos will be stored in your Pictures folder sorted by year, month, date. iPhoto is touchy about this structure so it's best not to muck about in these folders. I hear this is different in iPhoto 6 but the concept still applies, let iPhoto do the manangement.

Program Help, working with spaces and only letters

I'm writing a program that takes an input string and gets the length and/or gets the number of vowels and consonants in the string. I've gotten it working except for consideration of spaces (which are allowed) and error checking for input other than letters. Here is what I've got so far. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

OK, per the instructions above: I will re-post my code that I have now. I have dealt with the space not being counted now, I only need to figure out how to validate my input so that only letters are allowed. If anyone has any suggestions, or can help me out in any way, it'd be great. The suggestions with creating word and sentence objects is still a little beyond what we have gone over thus far in my Java course, I feel like I can almost grasp it to code it, but end up getting really confused. anyways, hear is my 'crude' code so far:

Project Help: Working with slides and video

I'm trying to create a flash video that will incorporate powerpoint-like slides along with video footage.
So for instance I will have slide 1 (graphic) - slide 2 (video clip) - slide 3 (text).
I have used CS4 before for one of my classes but that was a little while ago, and I feel like I'm starting over again.
When I import the first graphic (.png), is there an option to have it resize to fit the stage?

I have everything the way I want it except one thing. I have a picture along with text on a slide. I'd like to fly in the picture. It's been a while since I've created motion tweens, can anyone refresh my memory as to how I can have the picture fly in while the text stays put?
Also, does anyone know if it's possible to do dancing text like the "Saved By the Bell" logo (at the 1:02 mark in the video)?

I am getting a bit concerned about what is happening in your situation. Yesterday you posted your question in at least two different forums, one of them being here in the Premiere Elements Forum.
Don't Have Serial Number for Premiere, Only Photoshop?
Wherever you posted, the reply was to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat. It is the only one who can sort out this matter for you.
In the thread cited above I offered to help you with the difficulties that you were having visualizing the Adobe Chat in its web page. I was waiting for your follow up on that in the above thread. Instead, I find your same question in a new Adobe Premiere Elements Forum thread this afternoon with no refer the prior threads or prior recommendations given you.
I will also mention again...when you buy the Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements bundled in one packaging and with installation files for each on the same installation disc, each program has its own serial number. The Photoshop Elements serial number does not work for Premiere Elements and vice versa. The serial numbers are on labels on a box which houses the installation disc envelope(s). So, if you purchased both programs and found the Photoshop Elements serial number, then the Premiere Elements serial number should be in a label right underneath the label with the serial number for Photoshop Elements. I recall writing this in your yesterday's thread on this matter.
The moderator will no doubt be along shortly to close or delete this thread. So, just in case, please bookmark your yesterday's thread cited above so that we can continue this communication which is trying to help you.

Yes you can. In iPhoto create a Album with the photos you want in it. You can drag them from your Events folder. In iTunes with your iPad connected go to Photos by cliking on your iPad. You can then select the album or events you want.

What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

Concluding something does not work because you fail at using it is not necessarily always justified.
The Quick Selection Tool certainly has limitations, but your post seems to be more about venting than trouble-shooting – otherwise you might have posted an image where you failed to get an expected result.

If you can afford it, go with a Crucial M4 SSD.
If your in a limited budget, go with a Seagate Momentus XT 750GB.
The SSD will be the fastest one and the Seagate being faster than a conventional drive.
If you decide to go conventional, avoid the Western Digital Scorpio Blue. They tend to have issues with Macbooks.

As I am editing photos in lightroom and just right click on the photo to select to edit in photoshop the opting shows up in gray out but it isn't available for selection anylonger. It was working just fine a few days ago.

I'm experiencing the same issue too. I can't see to use the brush in my clipping mask the same way. It works for a moment, then several minutes in to production it ends up crashing.
I hope this issue is resolved soon. It's definitely frustrating and delaying my production time.

My operating system windows XP not working with photoshop cloud, why not?

I need to add 2 more licences for photoshop cloud and I'm being told my operating system windows XP does not work with Photoshop cloud. We already have 2 pcs using it in our office so why not?
