Remove the red coloured part

"undefined" appearing next to text in CSS Drop-Down menu, why?

I am having a problem with a CSS drop-down menu. The menu works fine, as you can see here:

But the text "undefined" appears next to the main menu options. My question is, why?
I have narrowed the problem down to this chunk of code:

When I use FF to view the generated source, I see this -

The undefined is coming from the javascript functions that you have loaded in that external file. This function call is what starts it -

Need help fixing a CSS Drop-Down menu for IE6

I have created an entirely CSS drop down menu for my website
which works perfect in Firefox, Safari, Opera and IE7 however when
I tested in IE6 it displayed like this -->

To answer your first question, I tried it with just one
before and it caused Internet Explorer to display the background
incorrectly so I just kept them both.
I have replaced background-image with background:
url(/img/defmenu.png) repeat-x;
But, I cannot access my XP machine until tomorrow so I cannot
view the site in IE6, if you could test it and tell me if it is the
same as the image linked to in my first post that would be great.

I'm really struggling with this. Does anyone know how I can get Menu 3 to display the four drop down items beneath it - not the same width as the Menu 3 button but just inline with it.

How can I get rid of "History and Bookmarks" section from the search history drop down menu in safari 6.0.2?

Let's just say I have saved bookmarks of things that i do NOT want my friends to see when they use my computer occasionally. I know they could go and find these bookmarks anyway in the bookmarks menu but they dont snoop around my computer. i would rather it not just pop up when they go to search for something or type in a webpage. If there is no way to customize what shows up in the drop down menu for search results then that is something apple overlooked. Not everybody wants things all in one place. Whats the point of deleting search history and website history if its just going to show the certain things you have bookmarked? Any solution to this would be appreciated. One solution i thought would work was disabling search from suggesting, but i guess that only supresses the webpages not the url/search bar. Oh and this is for safari 6.0.2 please dont give me outdated advice.

Can't select 'all layers' from the healing brush drop down menu

I just installed PS6 and while cleaning up a picture I found this very frustrating: I created a new layer on top of the one I'm editing and wanted to remove a couple of blemishes. but when I hit J and try to select the 'all layers' option from the drop down menu, it won't allow me… it's stuck on 'current layer' and I can't seem to change that… Does anyone else have the same problem? Will reinstalling the software fix it? I need to get this done by the end of the weekend… HELP!

never mind… found it! checked the channels panel and apparently I had created a quick mask… deleted it, works fine

CSS Drop Down Menu Problem (only in IE)

Hi Folks,
I have just added a new drop down menu and it seems to work perfectly in every other browser except IE.
In IE the cursor makes the next menu item along drop down and not the one that's hovered over.
I have removed the jquery script and the same problem occurs, so I reckon it must be a CSS problem. Here's the CSS code in case anyone has any ideas what the problem is.
Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated cos I can't figure it out .

it's all on a local set up right non but I will try to pop it up and post a link.
The symptoms are easy to describe though. When you hover over a top level menu item, the list drops down under the link directly to the right.The positioning isn't random, it is exactly in line, just under the wrong heading.
In every other browser it seems to be fine.

CSS Drop down menu; how to align the right edge of drop down and parent menu?

Hello everyone,
I have a drop-down menu that is currently working well.
The only change I need to make is to have the right edge of the drop-down menu to align with the right edge of the parent menu. When you hover over the menu, it currently "drops" down and to the right, with the left edges aligned.
I want the menu to "drop" down and to the left, so the right edges are aligned.
I have tried fiddling with floats and absolute/relative positioning. I'm not sure what needs to be changed.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated! I'm learning via "cut and paste", so please go easy on any terminology you may use.

There is no "Deauthorize all computers" from the iTunes store drop down menu (12.0.1.26 latest version)

Just purchased a new iMac and somehow all of my licenses are consumed between existing/old computers and I am not allowed to synch my iTunes library using Match. Looking at the on-line help provides guidance to choose a "deauthorize all computers" option from the Store drop down in iTunes but I only have these options:
Obviously, I need to figure out how to do this and then reauthorize from each of my 5 machines. Any help is greatly appreciated!

How do I block previous web sites from showing in the drop down menue as I type

when i type in the website in a box, previous sites pop up below in a menu, even if they were used in private browsing

Buttons - making a drop down menu

Hello,
I only know very basic flash. Right now, I am attempting to revamp a website. The buttons that are currently being used are only gifs that are hyperlinked and there are almost 12 buttons... I think that this is a ridiculous amount of buttons to have. It looks very cluttered.
So, I figured I should make 6 buttons and just fit the rest of the buttons into subcategorized buttons. And the way to do this is to create flash buttons with drop down menus. To see what I mean, go to this link and look at their buttons:

Their buttons drop down into menus with sub-categories. I want to do this.
So far, I have gone into flash, created buttons and made graphics for the "Up" "Over" "Down" and "Hit". I have also added the menu buttons and graphics for the "Over" of each drop-down button-menu.
I have even provided the action script to link each button to where I need it to go.
HOWEVER, here is where the problem is. When I roll the mouse over the button, and then move the mouse down to click on one of the buttons in the drop down menu, the menu disappears, OF COURSE, because the mouse goes off the hit. I can't make the hit bigger, because the menu shouldn't open unless it's on the main button. But without the hit being bigger, the menu will always disappear.
IN ADDITION, I've never used flash buttons on a website before. I'm just using HTML. How do I link the button to the page? Do I save the file as a .swf flash file? And link to 6 different files? Or do I save the buttons in a line, and just use one link?
I'm on a bit of a deadline so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

While I can't help you with your deadline, I can offer a little bit of input. To take a Flash approach you should find a Flash drop down menu tutorial thru Google and follow thru that to gain an understanding of how to construct one. The problem you are having with the rollover stems from needing to extend the rollover such that each element of the dropdown also carries that rollover command. Each button needs to be assigned code to process interacting with it and linking to some other web page. The swf file that you publish would need to be sized for holding the buttons and then must be placed on the web page.
The example you pointed to uses a CSS drop down menu, which you will likely find easier to create and manage if you have no familiarity with how to make Flash work in a web site. I suggest going to the Dreamweaver forum and looking there for information about that approach.

Fireworks cs6 drop down menu crossbrowser

Hi there,,
I am doing this drop down menu on fireworks cs6,its a horizontal menu, and the dropdouwn menus on chrome appears on the middle of the button, the same happends on iexplorer,firefox and Opera.But on Safari it works perfectly.I send the fotos on atachment one from google chrome and one from Safari.
The one on the left is from google chrome, the drop down menu on all the buttons appears on the midle of the button,and its the same on all browsers,except on safari, the right foto.
I tryed to use google chrome inspect tools and uncheck some of the css proprieties of the div correspondent to the uploads drop down link("uploads"), but nothing happends.it doesnt move up or down , not even a pixel.
I want it to look like the Safari right foto on all browsers, How can i do that?
i did the menu on fireworks cs6 and exported to dreamweaver cs6 as HTML, then i inserted the menu as fireworks html inside a div #nav, this is on the fluid grid layout on the phone and tablet css:

i used a http://www.cssmatic.com/ linear gradient as background for the div #nav and i also tryed to remove the background and still the problem remains,except on safari.
On fireworks cs6 preview in browser(chrome) it also works perfectly, its only wen i export it to dreamweaver it only works like the preview on Apple safari.

Addresses in Address bar drop down menu do not load when clicked on, do not load when arrow presssed or when enter is hit. nothing typed in bar works

nothing I type into the address bar work, no choice picked from the address bar drop down menu works.... this is very annoying for my wife and hence it makes it annoying for me
tried to restart, does not help.

Missing Alias/account drop down menu when composing?

This morning, when using MAIL, the drop-down menu to choose which alias to send an email from seems to be gone. My alias's are all still properly set up and the options is there when using webmail.
I've tried the "customize" section when composing mail (which sets the fleilds shown like "to" "reply to" "BCC", etc) and it's not an option in there either.
I haven't changed any account settings or prefs in Mail in months, and have tried swapping an older plist file in place in case that had something to do with it.
Anyone else having a similar problem? Better yet, anyone have a fix?

Hi. I've got quite the same problem with regular accounts. I've got an IMAP and a POP account and i'm stuck trying to send an email to google groups with my pop-account because mail automaticly uses my imap-account. the google groups of course denies my post since my imap-account is not allowed to post there. In Thunderbird (i just migrated from linux) it automaticly used the account in which the mail arrived to send from and showed a drop down menu just in case. but mail uses my imap account and i see no way to change that behavior (that option with "send from last used account" (i don't know how exactly it translates from german/don't know how it's called in english mail) is active.)

How to have drop down menu in which we cant continue until selection is made

Hi All,
I have a case in which I have 4 drop down menu, and a continue button, I want to make sure that a user cant continue until selection is been made on all the four or atleast from some of the drop down menu. how can I do that.

I believe what Norbert was suggesting is something like this:
With this code the "Continue button will be disabled and greyed untill a value change event has been registered on each of the four I32 controls. Note also that its always OK to Cancel (and the windows X is active so you won't anger your users) The caller should decide what to do if Canceled? is TRUE.
Modify as desired! the Attachment is saved back to 2012
You can safely delete the case structure....
