Drilldown problem

I have a table which has a measure say A and its components (i.e A = B+C+D). I want my report to have capabilities of drill down where if i click on A i should get its details i.e values of B, C and D. How should i structure my dimension for this? Thanks

thanks for ur suggestion..but navigation won't help me...let me explain the scenario..
i have order IDs (unique) and for each order ID i have Cycle time which has say three components..Now i have to group the cycle times on the basis of regions(which is present in the table) and show their avgs. now when i click on the avg of a particular region i want the components for that particular region...

  • Query Drilldown problem

    Hi All,
    We are working on BI7.0 and facing a weird problem.
    As in BW 3.5, when i execute a query on the web and utilize change drilldown feature for characterstics in the rows to "horizontal" option, the characteristic jumps from rows to columns in the navigation pad.This allows me to drilldown the same char. again in the "vertical" option and re-jump to rows heading in the navigation pad.
    However this not the case when i execute a query in BI 7.0. Here when i drill down a char. in the rows to "horizontal" option, the char. remains in the rows and it still displays only the "horizontal" drill down option instead of "vertical" drill down.
    Am I missing any setting or some other problem is there.
    Any fruitful answers shall be appreciated and rewarded.
    thankx
    Sid.

    Hello Sid,
    Just tested the functionality here and it works fine.
    We are on SPS12 (SP13 for ABAP and SP12 for JAVA).
    And I am using SP13 on the front-end.

  • Web Reports - Drilldown Problem

    Hello Guru's,
    I have a Web Report where I am only displaying the text properties and the result table. In the selection screen the user has to select a company which he will be working with. I also have configured in RSBBS a drilldown for this report. The main report is working fine, the problem lies depending on where the drilldown is made. In the result area you have the characteristics, and the results for each of them eg
    Org. Area - Distribution Channel - Qty - Value
    AAA        -  MT                         - 50   - 150
    If I do a drilldown from the "50" in the Qty row, the drilldown works fine by transfering the selected company to the second report, but if I do a drilldown from te "AAA", or "Org. Area", the selected company value is not transfered to the second report thereby generating an "Authorization Error" considering that the user has acess to a few companies. does anyone know how to solve this problem.
    Obs. All of the rules in BBS are set to generic, except the company which is set to variable as a diferent variable for the company is used the second report.
    Thanks

    I have partially solved this problem by including the company at the line level and under its characteristics selected it to not display it. The problem only remains when the drilldown is made from the titles ... if anyone has had this problem please let me know how it can be worked out.
    Thanks.

  • Comparing facts of different dimension levels - drilldown problem.

    With our customer, we do a lot of comparisons of sales budgets vs. actual sales. The sales budgets are given per month, like this:
    Sales budgets: Jan 09: 40,000 EUR, Feb 09: 45,000 EUR, Mar 09: 20,000 EUR... and so on.
    There is a time dimension (year -> quarter -> month -> day). Since BI does not seem to allow binding facts to other dimension levels than the lowest one (day in my example), I used a trick and modelled these sales budgets as a fact table: (expected sales, last_day_of_month)
    So I have this:
    Sales budgets: 01/31/09: 40,000 EUR, 02/28/09: 45,000 EUR... and so on.
    This way, I can connect both actual sales and sales budgets to the same time dimension. With this, I can create an answers report that compares the two facts easily.
    The problem is now that the customer wants to drill down. This is no problem with year->quarter->month. But then, BI naturally allows to drill further to day, and in this case, BI compares the sales budget of 01/31/09 with the sales on 01/31/09, producing wrong values.
    I either need a solution to prevent BI from drilling down from the month level in this special answer report, or maybe I am making an error with my modelling. Are there any ideas on how to do this better?

    Hi,
    I'd model the repository differently, by modeling the actual sales fact on the lowest day level, and sales budget fact on monthly level. That's how I've understood the data really is defined, right? (Lowest level physical time table you already have but for sales budget you need to create also a physical time table which is on the month level. First define the correct physical joins. Then define the logical table sources in the BM layer accordingly.) In order to be able show the sales budget together with lowest level you can create the sales budget measure as a level based measure (fix the measure to the level month in the column properties-->Level in the Administration tool).
    If you just want to prevent users from drilling-down on a specific dashboard report you can go to properties of the column(s) in that report and set the interaction type for both title and values to "No interaction" in the second tab of the properties menu in the front-end.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,
    Ilmari

  • Drill down on report s_alr_87012999

    Hi,
    I'm having trouble tracing a drilldown problem on order reports such as S_ALR_87012999. When drilling down on plan line items an error message saying "No plan line items were selected" appears, yet there is a total against the account code, suggesting there is data there. An authorization check doesn't return any problems. Am I missing anything else?
    thanks

    Ian,
    Are you using ST01 for the auth trace?
    Reading the error message, it did not sound like an authorization error message to me. One way you can rule out whether this is an authorization problem or not, assign the test uid with SAP_ALL , and run the report to see if the error still persists. So you don't waste time on non-security error.
    Hope this help.
    Regards,

  • Drilldown configuration problem 8.1 - 8.0

    well the problem we have is this:
    We have a drilldown on a field of service request, and when we click it on siebel 8.0 it goes to another view (with the same BO, and BC) and shows the record clicked on a form applet with the controls to change the records (so you can navigate around the records you have on the applet you clicked the drilldown)
    when we try to do the same on our enviroment of 8.1, the drilldown goes to the view and displays a form applet with ONLY the record clicked, and we cant navigate beetween the rows.
    please if you know where it could be a problem, or a configuration issue?
    the drilldown is configured with "Destination Business Component" with no value, because it is the same, and source and destination fields = "Id"
    thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    I think it is strange that it worked in Siebel 8.0. We are not using service request views in our project so I cannot verify it on your views, however I think that you never could navigate to another record on the target view if the drilldown definition uses ROW_ID as source and destination field. In fact you shouldn't even be able to query for other records as it sets something like a named query on the bc.
    Do you have a field other than ROW_ID that is uniqe? If you do try to change the drilldown definition to that field.
    It should workarround your problem.
    Regards,
    Claudio

  • Problems with Averaging a DrillDown Report

    Post Author: ray3280
    CA Forum: Formula
    My data looks like this...
    Region | StoreID | StoreSales | EmpID | EmpSales
    North | 111 | 105.00 | 123 | 40.00
    North | 111 | 105.00 | 124 | 65.00
    North | 222 | 85.00 | 125 | 85.00
    I first group by Region, then Store and then Employee.  I want this report to be a drill down.. First you see the Regional Averages, then the store totals and then the Employee totals. My problem is...I want to find the average regional sales and because of my data the Regional Average for north turns out to be 98.3 instead of 95.  (Its averaging 10510585/3, I want it to just do 105+85/2)
    I am using running totals for my averages.  Any ideas? Thoughts??
    Regional level should show:
    North | Average Sales 95
    South | Average Sales 85
    Store Level Should show
    North | 111 | Total Sales 105
    South | 222 | Total Sales 85
    Employee Level should show
    North | 111 | 123 | 40
    North | 111 | 124 | 65

  • Problems with Key Figure and Drilldown

    Good day to you, experts. Several of our reports are required to include a key figure which shows a percentage value. The Query must show something similar to the following (please ignore the "-"):
    Total Products---Products Sold--
    Percentage sold
    Shop A / Jan--5020--
    40%
    Shop B / Jan--2828--
    100%
    Shop C / Jan--10030--
    30%
    TOTALS / Jan--17878--
    56.66%
    We can see this information for all months. As you can see, it shows the "Shop" Characteristic as well as the Calendar Month (or year, or year/month). The information is updated monthly. The percentage total is calculated as average.
    So far so good. The problem is that whenever I take away the Calendar Month characteristic (in order to see this information summarized and not detailed by month), the "Percentage Sold" Key Figure (which is loaded along with the rest of the information, not calculated in the Query) shows strange data, something like this:
    Total Products---Products Sold--
    Percentage sold
    Shop A--250140--
    220%
    Shop B--108100--
    454%
    Shop C--466180--
    150%
    TOTALS--824420--
    274.66%
    So as long as I keep the most detailed information on the table, it is displayed correctly, and as soon as I take away any of the details (it also happens with the Shop characteristic), the percentage sold displays wrong data. I have tried displaying individual values differently. I also tried using a formula to calculate the percentage sold, which appeared to solve this issue, but after testing it I found that the data on "TOTALS" was incorrect both with and without the monthly detail. This issue has become quite urgent as we are supposed to publish these reports very soon.
    Any ideas for solving this issue?

    Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I forgot to mention that. As I wrote before, this percentage is given to us directly in the file that is loaded on the system, but since there were problems when taking away a characteristic from the table, I created a formula which should give us the same data. The formula is Percentage = "Products Sold / Total Products" (I used the Percentage part operator, so it looks like this "Products Sold %A Total Products"). The TOTALS value is validated with the person in charge of giving us the file to load.
    A sample data record:
    DATE--SHOP_ID-DEPT-PRODUCTS-SOLD---PCT.
    20080101--125020--
    40

    Have you specified an InfoSource in RSBBS? Specify an InfoSource there and then try. InfoSource popup should not come then.

  • Problem with Counter in Query

    Hi Experts,
    There is a problem in my query output.
    I have a CKF for sales documents number created with replacement path which gives the correct count of number of Sales documents.
    But the req here is to create two more counters which will be counting the passed and failed count with reference to other KF1 (the value of this KF can be 0 or 1).
    i.e. If the KF1 value is then failed count would be 1 .
           else passed count would be 1.
    I have used the Replcement path variable created for Sales Document count.
    For failed count the CKF formula which I have created is: (Sales Order Count ) * (KF1<>1)
    Which gives the right result but as soon as I remove the drill down , instead of aggrading the total results, failed counter still shows 1 which is incorrect.
    Could any one please help me out.
    Regards,
    BW User

    hello,
    try using exception aggregation as total and reference char as the one which u have reomved from drilldown.

  • Drilldown malfunction

    Hi all,
    I am not able to drilldown to lowest level of my dimension. There is no actually error message and only thing that remains forever on the screen is " Searching... To cancel, click here.". I have found connection between number of used filters and this malfunction... If I select filters from (any) three different dimensions or less then three dimensions everything is fine and drilldown is working properly. In case that I have filters from more than three different dimensions problem is back so please tell me...
    - Is there any place in configuration files where number of drill levels are defined?
    - Is there maybe limited number of filters that I can use per request?
    Platform: Oracle 11g, OBI EE 10.1.3.4
    Many thanks in advance!

  • Drilldown with ParentAfter and ParentBefore not working

    Hi All,
    I am using Drilldown option in Workbook Option with ParentAfter and ParentBefore. I found that the drilldown sometimes works but sometimes can not expand/collapse. First, i thought it was because of dimension member set in the current view is not base member, but now that i have already set all as base, the drilldown still can not work.
    I have set the memberset as LDEP and taken out the sort range. And now, after logged off and on again, the drilldown can work again without me changing anything....
    Any idea why it behaves this way?
    Thanks in advance for the advice.

    Your issue lies in your clientkeys. instead of:
    clientkeys =
    awful.key({modkey,}, "f", function(c) c.fullscreen = not c.fullscreen end),
    awful.key({modkey, "Shift"}, "c", function(c) c:kill() end),
    awful.key({modkey, "Control"}, "space", awful.client.floating.toggle),
    awful.key({modkey, "Control"}, "Return",
    function(c) c:swap(awful.client.getmaster()) end),
    awful.key({modkey,}, "o", awful.client.movetoscreen),
    awful.key({modkey, "Shift"}, "r", function(c) c:redraw() end),
    awful.key({modkey}, "t", awful.client.togglemarked),
    awful.key({modkey,}, "m",
    function(c)
    c.maximized_horizontal = not c.maximized_horizontal
    c.maximized_vertical = not c.maximized_vertical
    end),
    It should be
    clientkeys = awful.util.table.join(
    awful.key({modkey,}, "f", function(c) c.fullscreen = not c.fullscreen end),
    awful.key({modkey, "Shift"}, "c", function(c) c:kill() end),
    awful.key({modkey, "Control"}, "space", awful.client.floating.toggle),
    awful.key({modkey, "Control"}, "Return",
    function(c) c:swap(awful.client.getmaster()) end),
    awful.key({modkey,}, "o", awful.client.movetoscreen),
    awful.key({modkey, "Shift"}, "r", function(c) c:redraw() end),
    awful.key({modkey}, "t", awful.client.togglemarked),
    awful.key({modkey,}, "m",
    function(c)
    c.maximized_horizontal = not c.maximized_horizontal
    c.maximized_vertical = not c.maximized_vertical
    end)
    I had the same problem and this fixed it.
