Drop a table with triggers

Dear All,
I have a script which creates tables and triggers and drop the tables.
I want to know if the triggers are dropped automatically when we drop the tables and when we create the tables what is the name of the tablespace that they are created in ?
thank you in advance for your reply

Triggers are dropped automatically when you drop the associated table.
SQL> create table a (id number);
Table created.
SQL> create trigger trga before insert on a for each row
  2  begin
  3  null;
  4  end;
  5  /
Trigger created.
SQL> select trigger_name from user_triggers where table_name = 'A';
TRIGGER_NAME
TRGA
SQL> drop table a;
Table dropped.
SQL> select trigger_name from user_triggers where table_name = 'A';
no rows selected

  • Updating parent row in a self-join table with triggers

    Hi Gurus!
    Need of a business to update parent row(s) in the same table with triggers (insert, update and delete). Table is having recursive relation and error is coming as mutating error. I was able to do this with MS-SQL server.
    Appreciate any help or work around possibilities.
    Regards,
    SH

    SH,
    popular solutions to this issue include
    - autonomous transactions
    - recording (typically in PL/SQL package variables) the rows being processed from the row level triggers and using this information in the after statement level trigger to perform the update on the parent rows
    - use a View with an instead of trigger to re-route the DML on your table
    Which one to use depends on what exactly you are trying to achieve and how the data hangs together.

  • Drop parent table with disabled child constraints?

    I have a table I would like to drop and recreate. I do not want to have to recreate all the foreign key constraints again. Can I disable the foreign key constraints, drop the table and then recreate the table and enable the foreign key constraints?
    Thanks,
    John E.

    No.
    The Triggers,Indexes,Constraints etc, assocated with a table are bound to the table they are defined for.
    They owe their existance to the existance of the table.
    If the table goes, so do the constraints.
    If you have Oracle9i, can use DBMS_METADATA to generate the DDL script of the table before dropping it.

  • Create/Drop/Compile Table, Views, Triggers, Sequences, etc.

    Is there a way to create, drop, and compile objects on an Oracle database with the ADF library? If so, any good examples?
    Can the results be captured as well?

    Frank,
    Maybe I wasn't clear enough. The only example I saw that involved the blob column was number 85 which did not contain info for database maintance.
    I have a JClient application that reads database structures like triggers, tables, and views. I would like the user to be able to push a button and the trigger be compiled in the database. While SQL Dev probably has more features and does a better job I have added a bunch of internal stuff that would have to be manually added in SQL Dev each time a new trigger was created.
    Is there a way, when working with the current transaction(or new transaction), to issue a statement like you would in SQL*Plus "DROP TABLE EMPLOYEES;" with the results being "TABLE DROPPED"?
    thanks.

  • Drag and Drop from Table with Treebynestingtablecolumn

    Hi,
    I am using table UI element in Webdynpro ABAP.
    And I am showing data in tree format using element TreeByNestingTableColumnn.
    Now I tried to implement the Drag functionality for a nested table line and I face two problems:
    1. The requirement is to drag an item out of the table without selecting the reow before! I tried it (by implementing a dragable image etc.) but it seems that it is necessary to select the row first before being able to drag. The problem is that I don't use the property row selectable, so I can't select and therefore I cant drag, right?
    Is it possible to drag an item out of the table but not selecting it before?
    2. In the meanwhile I decided to use the property "row selectable". Now I am able to drag.
    BUT, if I drag a nested item (a child item) and drop it, then - instead of the expected data-reference of the selected item -  the data reference of the fathers node will be provided within wdevent.   Does anyone know why? and is my requiremnt solvable?
    Thanks and regards
    Oliver

    Hi Saravanan,
    thanks a lot for your answer. I was happy to hear that someone else also has the same curious problems than me
    In the meanwhile I was able to solve my requirement and I describe the solution here:
    - Important is how the table is defined:
       --> Set rowSelectable to 'true'
       --> Set selectionMode to 'none'
    - Insert a column. Insert as CellEditor an "Image". Mark the image as "isDragHandle". Now insert a DragSourceInfo.
      Take care on correct data binding.
    For any reason it works now With Treebynestingtablecolumn and without selecting a row, but by dragging the image.
    Best regards

  • Updating Table with Triggers causes Raptor to Hang.

    Received an Error Window
    ORA-01000 Max Open Cursors Exceeded 1000
    Vendor Code 100
    This was displayed when updating a data value in a table which spawned a couple of Triggers, a before, after, and after statement trigger. What the Trigger does is when an Exchange Rate for a Date (one row), is changed the exchage_rate for every receipt is updated. The size of the table are in test and there are 100 receipts. The Echange Rate table has one record for every day between 01-JAN-2000 and 31-DEC-2050 (365.25*50) Rows. The open_cursors param in init file is 1000. Have done various scenarios and everything works fine from sqlplus. Hangs with message in Raptor, and have to kill process in windows..
    When run in Sqlplus no problem with update.

    I had the same problem but without triggers. I only changed some values in different records (always automatically commited) and after the third change I got this error message. At the same time I was connected with TOAD to the databse and there was no problem to change the data - so it doesn't look like a database problem.

  • Dropping a table does not remove the entry from USER_OBJECTS

    Hi,
    While dropping a table with "cascade constraints" option, I find that no. of objects in the user_objects table does not decrease. Only "Object_Name" is updated to a value like "BIN$K+97YWCIcRTgRAASeZWmDQ==$0"..
    Can you please help me to find out the reason.
    Thanks in advance..
    Rgds,
    Anjan

    Thanks both of u for ur reply..
    sorry for not mentioning the version of db, it is 10.2.0.2.0..
    I've applied purge statement and it has removed the table from the recycle bin and user_objects table as well.
    Now, is recycle bin got empty after perticular time duration? can we recover table from the recycle bin?
    Thanks,

  • Up & Down arrow key is not working on Table with Editable SelectOnceChoice

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 & Tested with HR Schema
    Issue Scenario:
    I am having a Employee View Object there is field called Departments and it is LOV which is coming from the Department table. I drag and drop a table with all editable components. Now I used a keyboard to set a focus on the Department Field and pressing the down and up arrow it is going for the next and previous rows. Not moving around the drop down items. Once is selected any values for the field then it is working and moving around the drop down items.
    This is one of ADA requirement and need to achieve.
    Question:
    why this behaviour? How can I overcome this?
    Can anyone help me regarding this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Perumal S

    Hi,
    I also verified the same in the Oracle Rich Demo Application and find the same behaviour. Please find the URL and steps below,
    URL : http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/table/clickToEditTable.jspx
    Steps:
    1. Open a Page
    2. By Using the Key Board, select the 'InputComboboxListOfValues' columns
    3. Now press the down arrow in the key board, It is not navigate into the Item List. But it is navigate into the Rows of the Table.(Even I pressed a enter key, it is moving to next row)
    But I need to navigate the Items of SelectOnceChoice even if it is in table.

  • Bug: dropping first table collapses connection tree

    Hi,
    if you drop the first table in the table list, using the delete key, the entire connection tree is collapsed completely (i.e. reoppening the connection does not remember what was previously expanded in that connection).
    It doesn't disconnect the connection though.
    (919 on 9.2.0.6.0 db)
    BTW the bug where the commit/rollback buttons aren't enabled with you add the first row to a one column table still exists.
    regards,
    William

    Not that I am aware of; I just did the following:
    create table a (a number);
    refreshed the table tree
    selected the table "a", and hit the delete key, followed by "yes" and the tree collapses.
    Not sure what else I can add to that :)
    I've just tried it a few times, and it happens every time on all my connections; it only happens if you drop the table with the delete key.
    regards,
    William

  • Using the Current Function in a repeating table with cascading drop-downs

    I have a Repeating Table where a customer can choose the values for three cascading drop-downs. I then want the member to start a new entry with the same cascading drop-downs but with different results based on their most current input not
    based on all their input throughout the form.  I also do not want the current input to affect previous inputs replacing what was already entered.
    Please assist.

    Hi,
    Based on your description, you don't want to meet the following issues:
    The first row returns back all the data from the list up to the value selected.
    Any new item added, replaces the value in the other items.
    Here is an article about InfoPath Repeating Table Lookup control on SharePoint List, refer to it:

  • Dynamic table with dynamic drop-down list values

    Hi,
    I need to display a dynamic table with 2 columns on an interactive form.
    My Context is defined as below:
    Root
    StudentData     0..n
    StudentName
    StudentCourses     0..n
    Text
    Value
    The 1st column should display student name, 2nd column should display student courses. The courses will be different for each student. I populated the context properly. I checked it by printing them. My DDL is bound to "Student Courses".
    When there is one row -> The DDL is populated with the courses of student 1 (as there is only one).
    When there are more rows -> The DDLs for all the students are populated with all the courses of all the students.
    I want to see the data populated like:
    TEXTFIELD    DROP-DOWN LIST
    Student 1------Student1-Course1
    Student1-Course2
    Student1-Course3
    Student 2------Student2-Course1
    Student2-Course2
    Student2-Course3
    I tried to do this in plain web dynpro using SVS.. it is also working similarly.
    I have set the singleton property of nodes "StudentData" and "StudentCourses" to false.
    Could any one tell me where I am going wrong?
    Thanks
    Ram

    Ram,
    I'm not sure how much this will help, but I know I had the same problem as you when I tried to get a similar thing working, but I can't remember which of the many changes I made fixed the problem, so I'll just show you my code and perhaps you can see if anything is different than yours.
    Here's where I'm creating my dropdown - in my case EastNew_RegOut is the same as your StudentData, and RateTypeDropValues is the same as your StudentCourses (the comments in the code are not meant to sound bossy to you, this is actually an example piece of code that other developers in my company "steal", so I have to put very specific instructions in there!):
    int nodeSize = wdContext.nodeEastNew_RegOut().size();
    for (int i = 0; i < nodeSize; i++) {
         //create an element called "table", that's the element at i.  So, basically it's a row.  Maybe I should have
         //called it "row" instead of table.
         IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastNew_RegOutElement table = (IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastNew_RegOutElement)wdContext.nodeEastNew_RegOut().getElementAt(i);
         //this line of code just executes an rfc that finds out what rates need to be in the dropdown for this particular row
         executeRateTypeDropdown(rateCategory, table.getNum(), wdContext.currentEastNew_MeterOutElement().getReggrp());
         //clear out what's already in there before we re-populate it.
         table.nodeRateTypeDropValues().invalidate();
         //now, I'm looping through all the values in the *actual* rate type dropdown (the one that's an RFC, populated by the above "execute" method)
         for (int j = 0; j < wdContext.nodeEastRatetype_DropdownOut().size(); j++) {
              //for each element in the *actual* Rate type dropdown, I'm going to create an element in my node that I created
              //and set the values from the *actual* one as the values in my node.
                        IPublicDeviceExchange.IRateTypeDropValuesElement element = wdContext.createRateTypeDropValuesElement();
              IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastRatetype_DropdownOutElement rateTypeOut = (IPublicDeviceExchange.IEastRatetype_DropdownOutElement)wdContext.nodeEastRatetype_DropdownOut().getElementAt(j);
              element.setText(rateTypeOut.getText());
              element.setValue(rateTypeOut.getRatetype());
              //here's another key - notice how I don't say wdContext.nodeRateTypeDropValues() - it's the one that's
              //directly off that table I created earlier - the thing that's essentially a row in my newReg table.
              //So, what I'm doing here is adding that new element I created to the dropdown FOR THAT ROW!
              //(btw, if you're trying to duplicate this, and this method does not exist for your "table" object, it's
              //probably because you didn't listen to me above and you didn't create your node with the singleton property
              //set to false.)
              table.nodeRateTypeDropValues().addElement(element);
    As for my layout... my table is bound to the EastNew_RegOut node, and the column with the dropdown is bound to RateTypeDropValues.Value  (that's probably obvious, but there you have it anyway)
    Finally, in my context, EastNew_RegOut is singleton = true (I was surprised about this, actually, I would have assumed it was false) with a selection of 0..1 and RateTypeDropValues has singleton set to false with a selection of 0..1
    I hope that helps to some degree!

  • Drop Down list in table with data from database table

    Hi,
    I have created an interactive form in WD ABAP.
    In Context tab I have created the nodes as follows:
    ZSOHEADER node with cardinality 1..1
    |-> MATERIAL node with cardinality 0..n. Under MATERIAL node there are 2 attrib. MAKTX and MATNR.
    I am fetching data from MARA table into an internal table IT_MARA.
    The node MATERIAL is bound to internal table IT_MARA.
    I have created a table with property ' Body rows vary depending on data ' .
    I have only one row in table. The first cell of the row is a drop down field.
    I have bind the field to the node MATERIAL->DATA->MAKTX.
    Now the issue is even though I have created only one row in my table, in preview it is creating as many rows in the table as the no.of records in the internal table.
    I want only one row with the drop down list containing all values of the internal table.
    Kindly suggest what to do.
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi,
    In the WebDynpro Context, in the main node create another node like A1 with cardinality 0..n and in this node create attributes TEXT and VALUE.
    Now goto method and in that method using code wizard read the node A1.
    And use the below code snippet sample in your program, i.e. code this under respective method of the webdynpro.
    *Declare the TYPES
    TYPES : BEGIN OF TY_TABLE,
    TEXT TYPE SOMETYPE,
    VALUE TYPE SOMETYPE,
    END OF TY_UOM.
    *Define Internal Table and work area.
    DATA : IT_TABLE TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF TY_TABLE INITIAL SIZE 0,
    WA_TABLE TYPE TY_TABLE.
    SELECT TEXT VALUE FROM TABLENAME INTO TABLE IT_TABLE.
    lr_node_info->bind_table( IT_TABLE ).
    And in the Adobe Form Layout
    Go to Menu of the Adobe LiveCycle Designer:
    Tools>Options..>DataBinding
    In that window you just check the Show Dynamic properties Check Box.
    Now for the Drop Down go the binding tab in object palette and click on the list items and there specify the Internal Table and specify the text as the internal table text field and value as internal table value field.
    OR
    From the WebDynpro Native Library Palette use the Value Help Drop Down and in object pallette goto binding tab and provide the form interface binding. Before this in the WebDynpro goto Context and for the particular field under the properties provide the search help as dictionary search help and specify the name of the dictionary search help.
    OR
    We have another method of setting the Text and Value to the DDL directly in the WebDynpro by coding in the methods, I dont have much knowledge on this.

  • Dynamic table with drop down lists

    I have a Dynamic table with a header row, Section and footer row.
    Section has the following cells(columns): Cell1 (drop down with locations), button (to remove row), CCode (Color Code RAL), CName (color name).
    I'm starting with 1 row.
    now what I want to do is, when they select in CCode e.g. RAL 1003 (rawValue "1") then in CName the name "signal yellow" (rawValue "1") should appear.
    I'm using javascript
    My first problem is how do I know which value is chosen, because this isn't working:
    if  (this.rawValue == 1)
    xfa.host.messageBox('Today')
    and second how do I set the value in CName
    because this only sets it in the first CName cell:
    xfa.form.DataSheet.TechnicalInformation.Markings.THatchPatterns.Section.CName.rawValue = '1';
    Please help me, I'm totally lost

    solved the problem, instead on change event put script on exit event.
    and the following line does the trick:
    xfa.resolveNode("THatchPatterns.Section[" + this.parent.index + "]").CCode.rawValue = this.rawValue

  • Support for triggers for tables with clustered column-store indexes

    Hello,
    We are very excited about the new clustered column-store indexes in SQL 2014 and our performance tests shows significant performance gains.  However, our existing functionality relies on triggers and they are not allowed on tables with column-store
    indexes.  Does anybody have information as to whether allowing triggers on tables with column-store indexes is anywhere on the radar?
    Thank you!
    P.S.  We spent a lot of time considering various work-around to avoid triggers, but the amount of work we would have to do is simply overwhelming, so we are considering delaying our upgrade until such functionality hopefully becomes available.

    My gut reaction is that this restriction is likely to remain for the forseeable future. Columnstore indexes are intended for data warehouses, and while I don't do data warehouses myself, I cannot say that a fact table is where I expect to find a trigger.
    But if you think that there is a good business case for permitting triggers on columnstore tables, submit a suggestion on
    https://connect.microsoft.com/sqlserver/feedback
    Note that if you give some business-oriented explantion why this is a great benefit, it is more likely that Microsoft is likely to listen.
