Drop and create tablespace for users

I am using Oracle 8i. I have created some users and, assigned the default & temporary tablespace to them.
I would like to drop and re-create the temporary tablespace, should I assign the tablespace to users again?
my script for creation of users:
CREATE USER USER01 IDENTIFIED BY ABC
DEFAULT TABLESPACE WEB_DATA
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMPORARY_DATA
PROFILE DEFAULT;

Hi,
I would like to drop and re-create the temporary tablespace, should I assign the
tablespace to users again? If temp tbs is not in usage, you can drop and recreate it without reassign. Users keep this one.
Nicolas.

Hi: I need to drop and recreate the user. This is what I had from my previous notes.
    1. how do I figure out what is the current default tablespace
    2. how do I figure out the current temporary tablespace?
    3. the table space and temporary table space get deleted when I drop the user. if Yes, Is it possible some other user's default tablespace and temporary tablespace is the same as well.

  • I've already restarted my computer and created a new user, but my IPhone 4 still isn't coming out of the "restore" setting; anybody know how?

I've recently tried to restore my IPhone4. For some reason, its not working properly (i.e my phone won't come out of restore). I've already restarted my computer, and created a new user account on my computer. The message that keeps popping up says Error 1604 which i know has somethign to do with the USB port but i don't know what specifically. Any Help??

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I have just purchased an iPhone5 and created a new user instead of using my iPhone3 ID. How can I access my previous data?

    don't just sign out!
if you simply sign out, the stuff you recently purchased will be an issue in the future when an update comes out for apps or anything else. restore the device as new from itunes then restore from a back if you have one as stated above...or set up as new and use correct apple id. this will ensure you will be using the apple id that you used originally without issues from the new one.

  • Can't create blogs for users created in LDAP directory

I have an LDAP directory set up on an Open Directory Master and use it for user management. I want to allow users to create blogs off of the main web site. However, when I try to create a blog, it won't authenticate to any of the LDAP users, only the local user (of which the administrator account for the server is the only one).
LDAP directory users can access their personal websites, though (http://mydomain/~user).
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the blog portion of the web site to allow my LDAP users to create a blog?
    Thanks.

Sorry, I should have mentioned I am using Leopard Server (10.5.5).

  • Way to programmatically drop-and-create-tables?

    Hi all,
I have a persistence unit which exists to provide lookup information to my application. It is populated by data that is available at runtime. It takes a long time to parse this data, and therefore my intention is to only parse it once at the deployment target. To do this, I have created a main method that does all the parsing, and I do not set the toplink.ddl-generation property in persistence.xml. This causes the application to fail if the database is not created.
However, this means that during the population stage, I must drop and create any existing tables. I had thought it would be possible to do this by obtaining an EntityManagerFactory which has a property map sent to it, containing the property toplink.ddl-generation set to drop-and-create-tables. But this does not work... the tables are not dropped (if they exist) and are not created (if the database is empty).
Is it possible to do the drop-and-create-tables programmatically using the JPA?
I may have another EntityManagerFactory open at the same time, which has been opened with the default options... would this be conflicting?

I don't think there is any easy way to generate the default tables once your have created the EntityManagerFactory. You could use the EclipseLink/TopLink schemaframework or TableCreator to create tables using a EclipseLink/TopLink DatabaseSession.
There is a DefaultTableGenerator in org.eclipse.persistence.tools.schemaframework, which may give you what you are looking for.

  • What is the difference between the drop and create the index and rebuild index ?

    Hi All,
what is the difference between drop and create index & rebuild index ? i think both are same...Please clarify if both are same or any difference...
    Thanks in Advance,

Both are same. Rebuilding an index drops and re-creates the index.

Just days ago, I downloaded and created folders for 2 batches of photos I downloaded from my camera to iphotos but now both are missing.  They were not deleted and even if they were, were not found in my trashcan. I have looked through every folder and they are not there. Is there a bug that can get into iPhoto to do this? Is there a program Apple offers to retrieve lost photos? Thank you.

debbie5891 wrote: ... They were not deleted and even if they were, were not found in my trashcan...
How do you know they were not deleted? Is it possible that they were moved to the trash and the trash has been emptied, if not by you, perhaps by someone else?
In the best case, you mean they were not deleted from your camera.  If so, it will be simple to merely download again from your camera after you have corrected any problem with your Mac or workflow.
If you have a way to be certain that your two folders were not deleted from your Mac,  follow the directions provided by your Mac's Disk Utility to repair your Disk (not Disk Permissions.)  On more than one occasion, disk repair has restored the visibility of missing folders I knew I had not deleted.  If you have trouble with the process, post back which specific Mac OS version ( > About This Mac) you are using so we can offer specific help.
It is also possible that the missing folders might be saved somewhere you do not expect them to be.
It is also possible that they may merely be invisible and, thus, not showing in your Finder windows even after performing a Disk Repair.
Here are some more ideas you can consider:
Restart Mac and then look where you expect the folders to be.  They may be visible there now.
If not, try a Spotlight search for the folder name(s) you used.  Spotlight may give you a list of places to look.  If you don't remember the folder name(s), try a search for the file type your camera uses for saved images.  My cameras save "jpg" files, but yours may save other image file types.
You can also open a finder window and use the window's search oval to search.  The method allows you to use the search "+" button to add invisible items via the "File Visibility"  choice.
debbie5891 wrote:... I have looked through every folder and they are not there....
If you are using any version of Mac OS X, I doubt this statement can be true.
If you select your disk volume name (not the Media item) in the sidebar of your Mac's Disk Utility, you will see that the number of Folders and files on your disk is very large.  For example,I keep my startup disk small and write most of my files to other disks.  Even so, my startup disk contains more than 195,000 folders.
If you mean you used some software to search each folder, please post back the name of the app you are using.
debbie5891 wrote: ... Is there a bug that can get into iPhoto to do this? ...
I have not had the problem you describe, nor have I heard of such an iPhoto Bug.
I have used every version of iPhoto I have seen including the current new version: iPhoto '11 version 9.5 (902.7).  You can find the version you are using by executing the iPhoto > About iPhoto menu command and post it back here.
debbie5891 wrote:... Is there a program Apple offers to retrieve lost photos? ...
I am not aware of any Apple apps that work specifically on photo files.  If you know the pathname to the lost files, and if you are comfortable with Unix commands, you might be able to use your Mac's Terminal utility to retrieve at least some of your images.  However, it will be MUCH simpler to merely download another copy from your camera.
You can search the Mac App Store for "unerase" to find several apps that can unerase files, including deleted photo files, in certain circumstances even after the trash has been emptied.  To determine whether one or more of them may meet your needs, see their product info and reviews for specifics about each one.
    debbie5891 wrote:...Thank you.
    You're most welcome.
If you need to post back for more information, please provide specifics on your Mac OS, iPhoto version, which of the suggestions offered here you have tried, and any details not already provided about the problem status.

One of my favorite things about developing for iOS using Xcode is the Simulator. It runs any of the iOS devices simulated right on your Mac. If you don't have a hardware device to test your application on, the Xcode simulator will surely be your best friend.
So to answer your question less vaguely, yes. You can own the iPhone 5s and develop for the 6. There is no real release information of the iPhone 6 at the time anyways, so I would not let it play too large of a factor in your decision.

  • Creating tablespaces for Reporting DB P6R8 - help!

    Hi all
I am trying to follow the instructions in the P6R8 Reporting Database Admin Guide to create the STAGE and ODS tablespaces needed by the P6R8 reporting database app. The document says:
    1) Connect to the P6 Reporting Database Stage instance with a user that has create tablespace privileges.
    2) Enter the following to create the Stage tablespaces (where <path> is the location of the Stage instance):
    Create tablespace stage_dat1 Datafile '<path>:\ stage_dat1.dbf' Size 32m Autoextend on Extent management local uniform 1M;
    3) Set the db_block size to the following:
    db_block size = 32k
Step 1 is OK; Step 2 is OK. What do I do for Step 3? Where is this set and what command do I use?
I am building a test environment and will only be using the sample data shipped with EPPM, and I'm not worried about performance as this is just a proof of concept so I am using Oracle XE. This should (just - I hope) hold the data without hitting the 4GB limit, but does not have the full admin front end that a full 10g instance has, so if I have to tweak parameters then I need to know which file to edit.
    All suggestions welcome!

It is best that you check the Oracle Database documentation on the DB_BLOCK_SIZE parameter to get all details.
I have just ignored to change this setting and it is working fine for my test environment.
    Good luck.
