Dropdown toplevel navigation using portal theme

Hi everybody,
I successfully created a TLN with suckerfish dropdowns using this blog
EFP: Working with the new Taglibs - Part 3
I get the dropdowns on hover but they do not inherit the look and feel of the portal. Instead of inheriting the theme of the portal, it is just displayede as plain html links.
I would like these dropdowns to inherit the same theming as the portal.
Can anybody help me on how to do this?

Hi,
If you want to inherit from the Portal theme, check the CSS classes that are used and try applying them to the suckerfish elements.
I guess you use the Navigation Taglibs, so you may end up using anchorAttributes.

The kind of CSS classes you are looking for : .prtlTopNavLnk prtlTopNav1stLvl-i prtlTopNavContainer

We are having a problem with the way reports developed in Web Dynpro for ABAP displayed in the portal (the pop-ups and dropdowns look out of wack). The issue appears when we wrap the reports into portal themes (either standard or custom). As per the thread (the link for which I posted above), the suggestion was to apply WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET parameter to the WDP, however our system doesn't have this parameter in the system, but it seems like I can create my own parameter. Can some on give me all of the properties assigned to WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET in table WDY_APP_PROP_DEF.

Hi Brad, I was trying to apply the note 1033496 but our ABAP servers does not have the WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET parameter available in WDY_APP_PROP_DEF table. All other notes are not applicable to our issue.
The portal is NW2004s SP12, the ABAP server is NW2004 SP11

ABAP Webdynpro reports in portal do not use portal theme for some elements

Hi,
I have an ABAP webdynpro screen which uses, amongst other things, a date navigator and drop down lists. All aspects of the portal theme seem to be picked up by the webdynpro except the date navigator and drop down lists. They don't even use the SAP standard ones. They display as plain text using TimesNewRoman font and not the ones specified in the theme. They also do not use any of the colours in the theme. All tables and fields etc are all themed ok. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Could there be a lockal cache issue?
Clear you browser cache via Tools > Internet Options > Delete History
Try again after clearing the cache, if that doesn't help then try downloading the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar:

Webdynpro for abap using portal theme nw2004s, sp12

Hello,
we use on instance 03 portal on netweaver2004s, sp12, which calls webdynpros with iview for abap on intstance 02, where ist netweaver 2004s sp12, abap stack.
The problem is that the webdynpro is no more rendered with portaltheme. In the prevoius version of abap (netweaver2004s sp9) it was rendered with the portal theme.
Abap- and portal-server are in the same domain.
Where is the solution?

Hello Brad,
SAP-Note 1033496 is the solution.
The problem was, that I have added the parameter WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET falsely in iview-configuration and not as parameter to webdynpro.
Remarkable is, that portal and webdynpro-abap-backend have the same neteweaver2004s, sp12.

How to make KM document iView use portal theme / styles

Hi,
We're in the process of upgrading our NetWeaver Portal to 7.4 and trying to improve it wherever possible.
We have numerous home pages which appear as the first landing page when a menu item if selected.
These pages are stored as HTML files in KM and rendered as KM Document iViews.
Is there an easy way of making these pages use the portal theme?
Currently we link to our own CSS file which means there can be differences in appearance and if a user selected a different theme (e.g. high contrast), these pages would not change.
I don't see any iView properties that could help.
I did wonder whether we could use Web Page Composer but from a quick test this needs some work to set it up before I can evaluate further.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Is HTML Filter for Portal Stylesheets used for the repository where you are storing the HTML documents? Can you view the source of a document rendered by the KM Document iView? It should have a reference to the portal style sheet.

Using portal theme in web dynpro tables

We are currently running EP6 (NW04). Is there a way to make our java web dynpro table ui elements use the portal theme? All tables appear blue unless they are checked as readonly in which case they are white.
I see there is a TableCellDesign ui element, but that is not available until NW04s and we are not there yet.

You are right about NW04s portal theme editor and we are able to change colour
the tablecelleditor ui. But as far as i remember i was able to change properties like selected cell colour, non selected cell colour and mulitselected cell colour.
However if you are not able to change it in EP 6.0 (NW04) then use the webdynpro themes. I suppose you will be able to do everything there.

Using Portal Theme for a Web Dynpro ABAP Application

Hello everyone,
I've created a web-dynpro abap application that I display on one of my portal pages using a Web-dynpro iView.
Somehow, the WDA app never reads the portal theme properties and has the default SAP roadshow theme colors. I've tried almost everything including passing the theme as an application parameter using WDTHEMEROOT and WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET params.
Documentation states that the application should automatically read the portal's theme, but it never does.
Interestingly, I have one more web-dynpro java application that works fine and uses the portal theme correctly.
Am I missing anything? Are there special considerations for WDA apps to adapt to the current portal theme?
Any ideas, suggestions, solutions would be greatly appreciated.

What are the release and support package levels of both your ABAP system and your portal? If the ABAP AS has a later release or SP level than the portal, the Web Dynpro framework will always fall back to using the theme of the backend ABAP system. This is to protect the application rendering. Running with a theme (CSS and JavaScript) from an older release or support package level could cause the application to render incorrectly.

Reg: VC Flex Controls Styling using Portal theme.

We have branded the VC flex controls in Portal themes. I have enabled style option in VC.
Some Flex UI elements are not getting rendered in VC application because of style option being enabled in VC. The default option loads the VC application properly. Only when style option is enabled in Toos->options->compiler there is a problem
Below are the versions:
SAP Enteprise Portal 7 SP15
SAP Visual Composer 7.1 SP17
is it becuase of mismatch in the versions ? has anybody faced similar kind of problem ?

This refers to a style in frameworks/projects/framework/defaults.css or, the framework itself. So, it seems as if the Flex framework default style assumes we are using the Spark theme. I'd like to use the Spark theme, but I still have many Halo components to convert.
It seems like the only way to avoid this situation is to re-compile the framework SWC. Is that the case?

How can i get the selected portal theme

it is possible to get the current used portal theme.
I need the path to the css file of the current selected theme.
I've tried to get the css file over the pageContext like:
pc.getStylesheetUrl()
But the result of this methode is: /htmlb/mimes/ur/ur_ie6.css
I'm loking for an url like:

If I try to do this in the PBO of the dialog screen (that contains the two grids), the result of CL_SALV_SELECTIONS->GET_SELECTED_ROWS will be empty, as the program does not recognize the marked entries in the grids. Also, an event for grid1 does not see the selected rows from grid2 either.--->
is it possible to have a check box in each grid & get the selected lines in PAI of the screen ?

Web Dynpro using EP theme

Hello,
I'm developing a WDP application which runs outside the EP.
I have also an EP installation with a customized theme running.
I can use the delivered SAP themes for my application running outside the EP.
Can somebody tell me how I can reference my customized theme from the application running outside of EP.
I'm developing on SP14 and therefore no Eclipse Theme Editor is available.
Any hint is highly appreciated!

Hi,
you've 2 option.
1. Set all dynpro's to run with portal theme whether you run them inside/outside portal.
For this, run visual administrator -> server -> configuration adapter -> (change mode) -> webdynpro -> sap.com -> tcwddispwda -> Propertysheet.default
set the parameter sap.theme.default to your portal theme path: we've theme CustomerTheme (portal is nw04sr1 sp14) and theme url is as follow:
/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portaldesign.urdesigndata/themes/portal/CustomerTheme
2. call individual application with parameter to use portal theme as follow:
http://<portal hostname with domain>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/WD_Project/Applname?sap-cssurl=http://<portal hostname with domain>:<port>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/CompanyTheme

Using customize portal theme for abap webdynpro.

Dear all,
I have a customized portal theme where we used different color for the portal. When I create a abap webdynpro application for a workflow task (the application will launch when user click on the item in the UWL). When the application launch, it does not use the customized portal theme instead it just use the standard theme.
Anyone knows where can I configure it?

Hi Brian,
You can change the color of a table only if u have the Textview as UI element for cell.
You can change the semantic color property of textview.
Please check this.
I would suggest you to use ALV instead of Table as you can change its colors easily by using functions like SET_DESIGN
GET_DESIGN of IF_SALV_WD_TABLE_SETTINGS.

I am working in portal project. We have situation that in portal we have excellent theme but in CRM Web client we donu2019t have fantasy theme like portal.
Is there anyway can I use my portal theme for CRM web client?

There is no easy way to extend your portal theme to the CRM WebClient. Lot of effort is needed for identifying the portal CSS files and updating CRm WebClient theme CSS files with the portal theme attribute values.

Using CSS for portal theme

Hi,
I have 1 css file which I should use to build the EP theme. This theme will be used by all the web dynpro applications deployed on this portal. Is there any way i can use the CSS file directly rather than using the theme editor in NW developer studio.

you can create the css in css folder while creating new par project in nwds and also use it by refering it in component.i.e incuding it in component to be rendered.

You need to do the following settings which has been provided in the page 9 and 10.
Also if the property If sap.useWebDynproStylesheet = True 􀃆 Portal uses this theme in a WebDynpro iView. Otherwise it will take the default portal theme for WebDynpro iViews.
For your reference
1. Go to visual administrator and server>services> Configuration Adapter> WebDynpro>sap.com> tcwddispwda> Property Sheet Default.
2.Open it in edit mode.
3.Select the property sap.theme.default and set the following custom value.
4. /irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/<THEMEID>
5.when we restart the server and deploy our WebDynpro applications the new custom theme will be applied.
