Dropdown values problem ID and description

Hi folks.
We have a Z-table with a Z-field of type ZACC_GRP_DESC (CHAR30). This field has a check table looking like this:
ZACC_GRP_ID NUMC 2
ZACC_GRP_DESC CHAR 30
In SE16 and SM30 the text of this field is shown and also the ID if you have this option selected in your GUI preferences.
But in the ITS interface and the Portal interface the generated GUI is showing only the group ID and no description.
This is the SAP GUI HTML standard stuff I guess. But how can this be solved?
Anyone recognizing this?
Best regards,
Mattias Kardell

Hi Henning, thank you for your answer.
In SAP I click the right most icon looking like a screen. There I choose "Options...". In the Expert tab, and Control section I click the "Show Keys In All Dropdown Lists".
As I tried to explain this data field (Char 30) in this table have Check table ZBADTGROUPS001 and Origin of the input help är "Input help implemented with check table".
Definition of ZBADTGROUPS001  is:
ZACC_GRP_ID     NUMC     2     0Accounting Group ID
ZACC_GRP_DESC     CHAR     30     0Accounting Group Description
And when entering data from SAP the Description is showed but when entering data from the ITS or as well the Portal the ID only is shown. Which is strange because the field typ is ZACC_GRP_DESC.
Did this help out in order to help me or am I totally wroing here?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards,
::Mattias

    Photoshop Elements 12 - OS Windows 8
    While PE12 Editor loads without a problem, whenever I try to select an action from the dropdown menus - File, Edit, Filters, etc - the dropdowns flicker and disappear before I can make a choice to New, Open, or Save or Save as... or before I can make any selection whatsoever. The is terribly frustrating as you may gather.
    I am an experienced software user and a member of Creative Cloud. I have used earlier versions of PE, so I am familiar with setting up the program and using its interface.
    What are possible solutions to this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I have been messing around for the entire day and finally fixed the problem.  I also had issues with the dropdown choices flickering and disappearing within 2 sec before I could make my selection.  I went under the view tab and clicked Snap To choices.  I unchecked the layers and document bound choices and now the drop down menus work fine.

  • Both attribute value and description showing on attribute value dropdown list

    Hi All,
    I am using CRM 7.0 EhP 1 and I have encountered a item I need to address in regard to the display of a Marketing Attribute values on the Account Overview page (BP_HEAD/BPHEADOverview) on the Web Client.
    The component in question on the page is BP_DATA/MarketingAttributesEOVP.
    The value dropdown lists for each attribute show both the Attribute Value (in my case a number) and Description. We require that only the Description is shown and not the Attribute Value in brackets also.
    Is there a user setting that controls this or is displaying both standard with no adjustment possible through user settings or configuration?
    Thanks,

  • Need help for displaying key and description in Dropdown (ABAP WEBDYNPRO)

    Hi Experts,
    I am using dropdown as a table field. For this dropdown I want to display the value as well as description.
    In ALV table when we create a dropdown dynamically in table field, there is a method SET_KEY_VISIBLE in class CL_SALV_WD_UIE_DROPDOWN_BY_KEY.
    But I think we cannot use similar method for normal dropdown field in table.
    Is there any way we can display both value and description in dropdown value set ?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Anand

    Hi,
    I think there is no such option. You need to consider one variable type string and while populating the
    valueset fill this variable by concatenating the value and description and assign it the key and value
    pair of the valueset.
    DATA:
      lt_value_set_ctry      type table of wdr_context_attr_value, " Country/Service Location
      lv_str type string.
        loop at lit_country into ls_country.
          concatenate ls_country-value ls_country-text into lv_str separated by space.
          ls_value_set-value = lv_str.
          ls_value_set-text  = lv_str.
          append  ls_value_set to lt_value_set_ctry.
          clear ls_value_set.
        endloop.
          lr_node_info->set_attribute_value_set( name = 'COUNTRY'
                     value_set = lt_value_set_ctry ).
    Consider this lit_country is a text table for countries.

  • Enabling and disabling input filed based on the Dropdown values selection

    HI,
    I have a requirement with Adobe Interactive forms being called from HCM Forms & Processes. We have a drop-down list and a inputbox.
    based on the values selected from the drop-downlist, the input box should be visible and hidden.
    If the input value is visible, I got to send  some part of the value selected from the drop down to the input field.
    i tried to write the following script in the click event of dropdown  but the input field is not appearing with any value selection.
    if data.Layout.CH1.CHContent.ISR_DDL_1stSelected.rawValue = "00000000" then
    data.Layout.CH1.CHContent.ISR_NEW_COST.presence = 'Visible' else
    data.Layout.CH1.CHContent.ISR_NEW_COST.presence = "Hidden"
    endif
    Thanks in Advance,
    VR.

    Hi Mukesh,
    THanks alot.
    Yes,  The Split functionality is working.  I have added the code in 'Change' event and  for selecting the value from the Drop down, am  writing the code in the 'exit'.
    In addition to this, I am populating the values to the drop down from the Generic service.  The problem is, while running  the  Process from Portal and check and send button,  the fields fetched from the generic service & the dropdown values are getting refreshed. i hope, this is because of the java script.
    pls. suggest me if this can be handled .
    Thanks &Regards,

  • Entering values in Web Services ID and Description, for External Catalog

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to an external Vendor Catalog from ERP. Pl note that we just have ERP ECC 6.0 and no SRM. I went to SPRO and followed menu path 'Materials Management >> Purchasing >> Web Services: ID and Description'. I am not sure what to enter in 1) Seq. Number  2) Name of Parameter for Web Service and 3) Call Structure COLUMNS.
    I have URL from Vendor, User Name and Password. I need to know what values are mandatory here so I can successfully connect to external Catalog. If someone can give me sample values, I can try.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Niranjan

    Update on 08/23/2011.
    We are able to connect to Vendor Catalog, select items in Cart. When I press 'Place Order' button, I see all items populated in SAP PO ME21N screen. We can then add other information and create PO. This is working great. We have another question. Heard that with ERP ECC 6.0, we can only connect 1 vendor catalog. But with SRM, we can connect more than  1 vendor catalog. Is there a BAPI or change SAP code to connect more than 1 vendor catalog from ECC 6.0 ?

    Hi, swetha
    You can do this with "concatenate".
    example:
    In you code check where you final internal table is getting filled up before that do this concatenate and then append it.
    data t_text type string.
    t_text = textfield
    CONCATENATE 'Xfield'

    When trying to send messages in linkedin, firefox takes me back to the log in screen without sending the message. On the error console it shows the error; error in parsing value for "background" and error in parsing value for "filter". What is causing this?

    Pages does not support the Apple font used for color emoji, so that behavior is normal.
    With what app are you reading the yahoo mail?  There is really no guarantee than any other email service will show the special Apple font involved.
    You should have no problem putting emoji directly into Mail or Text edit via drag drop from the Character Viewer as shown below.
    You should also be able to upload graphics here easily by clicking on the camera icon.  My email is tom at bluesky dot org.

  • FSG showing Account description instead of value and description

    Hi ,
    I am getting rows without Account Values in an FSG that I created - it has 27 columns. I had specifically created a row order with Value and Description for the Account Segment with all other segments having width zero. When I run this FSG I only get the Description and not the values. I tried everything from increasing the width of the column and also removing the row order but it still shows only the description. I also tried with a row order with Value only for the Account Segment but even then it shows only the Account description. I have no idea what is causing it? Can you tell me how to fix it?
    Thanks,

    Can you post the query for which the bind variable values are not being shown and the trace output for the same?
    Probably it is listed down somewhere when you actually executed the query among the others. Try completely analyzing your trace file..

  • Srvrmgr syntax: how can I create Named Subsystem with both Name and Description values?

    In looking through bookshelf, there is no syntax discussed that allows you to include both the Name value and the Description value for a Named Subsystem/Profile Configuration.  In the screenshot, the circled values were created with the server manager command-line.
    In contrast, you can create a component definition with a Name (full name) and Description.
    For CompDef, this works:
    create component definition CompDefTest1_enu for component type AppObjMgr component group Fins run mode Interactive full name "Test Comp Def Test 1" description "Test 1 Object Manager CompDef"
    For Named Subsytem, this does NOT work:
    create named subsystem Test5 for subsystem EAITransportDataHandlingSubsys full name "Test 5" description 'Test 5 Description'
    Can anyone tell me if, for a Named Subsytem, there is a proper syntax to include both the Name and Description values in the command-line, or is the only way to manually create it in the UI?

    Hi,
    I have reviewed the help for create command in srvrmgr, it does not give the full name and description as parameters for subsystem creation. However, as you indicated these parameters are available for component definition creation:
    srvrmgr> help create
      create { component group | compgrp } <component group name>
           [ full name <descriptive name> ]
           [ { description | desc } <description of component group> ]
      create { component definition | compdef } <component definition name>
           for { component type | comptype } <component type name>
               { component group | compgrp } <component group name>
           run mode { batch | interactive | background }
           [ full name <descriptive name> ]
           [ { description | desc } <description of component definition> ]
           [ with [param <param_name>=<value>[, <param_name>=<value>...]]
                  [fixparam <fixed_param_name>=<fixed_value>[,...]]]
      create named subsystem <named_subsystem_name> for
           subsystem <subsystem_name> with <param_name>=<param_value> [, ..]
    Bookshelf also has an example of subsystem creation that does not include full name and description:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14004_01/books/StoreFwdMsg/StoreFwdMsg_InstallConfig14.html#wp1351472
    In this case I suggest you to create a ticket on My Oracle Support to confirm that srvrmgr does not support creating a new subsystem with full name and description parameters, and request an enhancement request for these parameters to be included in create statement for new subsystems when using srvrmgr.
    Hope it helps,
    WSiebel

  • Suggest Values(Auto Fill) for code and description in WD ABAP

    Greetings everyone,
                     I have one ABAP webdynpro application which has to provide the auto fill (Suggest Values) option for one of the field for Eg:Material No.The requirement is the user will have only one field where he/she should be able to search the material either by its name or material number in the same field.Please let me know how we can achieve this.As of now i am able to search by material number using suggest values using my own custom search help.But how can i include the material description also as search option for the material number field.Any help will be appreciated.
    Material No:[____________]      <- - -   i should be able to search both by material number and description in suggest values(Autofill)
    Thanks,
    Vignesh

    Hi Thomas,
       You are right. I have exactly thought the same way and i implemented the code as well in the search help exit which will give my own search result to the searching criteria with both number and description. I have able to achieve this for one application and now i am able to search with both number and description in the same field.But when i am trying to get the same functionality for another field ,it is showing a auto fill values but only for code and not for description of the code.I have mentioned below the code i have written in the search help exit and i am passing the list to the source tab and getting the search help result in record_tab.When i test this from normal SAP GUI using F4 functionality it works perfect.But when i try to use this search help via Autofill(Suggest values) in WD ABAP,it is not working the same way what i want.I mean it only searches with the code but not with the description in teh autofill.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Value category and description for maintenance costs

    Does anyone know how I can get the value category and description and tie it to our cost data coming from tables COSP & COSS?    I tried going to PMCO but there can be several entries say for labor, services and you have no way of knowing which entry belongs to what type of cost.
    thanks!

    Hi,
    the value categories + texts are in TPIR2 + TPIR2T. Since you are working with PM, you need to set APPL = PM. And you need to set the correct controlling area. To map the cost elements (COSP, COSS are based on cost elements) to value categories you need to analyze table TPIK3.
    Besides I think that the costs for PM orders are also saved to table PMCO. So reading this instead of COSP, COSS might be easier.

  • Exchanging values of variables and printing problems

    Hi, everyone
    I have two questions
    First one:
    Write the definition of a method  printGrade , which has a  char parameter and returns nothing. The method prints on a line by itself the message string  Grade: followed by the  char parameter (printed as a character) to standard output. Don't forget to put a new line character at the end of your line.
    and my code is:
    public static void String printGrade(char A){
    System.out.println("Grade:" +A+ "\n");
    }My question is:
    1.why the compiler asks me to delete the public and String. The method prints out a String messge, shouldn't I use String as the identifier of the method?
    2. the problem ask me to print the char parameter as a character, in this case, should I use the + sign? if I use it, will the compiler return the value for String A?
    Second one:
    temp = i;
    i=j;
    j= temp;We use this method to exchange the values of i and j. My question is why the value of temp can stay unchanged when I write i=j? if I want the value stored in temp from i to j, but not by writing temp=j; what should I do?
    Thank you very much for your help.

    Terry001 wrote:
    1.why the compiler asks me to delete the public and String. The method prints out a String messge, shouldn't I use String as the identifier of the method?The compiler doesn't care what your method prints. Printing is just another method you call. It cares what, if anything, your method returns, and you've already stated that with void.
    2. the problem ask me to print the char parameter as a character, in this case, should I use the + sign? if I use it, will the compiler return the value for String A?The + is fine. "Printing 'as a character'" doesn't make any sense.
    Also, you don't need the \n, since a) println already adds a newline, and b) \n is not the line terminator on all platforms.
    Second one:
    temp = i;
    i=j;
    j= temp;We use this method to exchange the values of i and j. My question is why the value of temp can stay unchanged when I write i=j?Because i and temp are two totally separate variables. Doing "temp = i" does NOT mean that are now "aliases" for each other. It just means that whatever value was in i at that point is copied to temp. Further changes to i do not affectd temp, and vice versa.
    if I want the value stored in temp from i to j, but not by writing temp=j; what should I do?Find a different language. The only way to get j's value into temp in Java is with temp = j. (Or, I suppose temp = somethingElse, where you previously put j's value into somethingElse, but that amounts to the same thing.)

    insert into category_a values
    (XMlElement("category",
          xmlattributes('categoryAAA' as "id"),
          xmlforest ('ma categ' as "name"),
          (xmlelement("description", (xmlelement("text", 'find doors blest now whiles favours carriage tailor spacious senses defect threat ope willow please exeunt truest assembly <keyword> staring travels balthasar parts attach enshelter two <emph> inconsiderate ways preventions </emph> preventions clasps better affections comes perish </keyword> lucretia permit street full meddle yond general nature whipp <emph> lowness </emph> grievous pedro')))
    The row is successfully inserted as witnessed by the results of row counting. However, I cannot extract data from the table. First, I tried using SqlPlus* which hangs up and quits after a while. I then tried to use SQL Developer, but haven't got any result. Here follow some examples of queries and their results in SQL Developer:
    Query 1
    select * from category
    Result : the whole row is returned
    Query 2
    select xmlquery('$p/category/description' passing object_value as "p" returning content) from category
    Result: "SYS.XMLTYPE"
    now I tried to fully respect the nested structure of description element in order to extract the text portion of using this query
    Query 3
    select  xmlquery('$p/category/description/text/keyword/bold/text()' passing object_value as "p" returning content) from  category_a
    Result: null
    and also tried to extract the text portion of element <text> using this query
    Query 4
    select  xmlquery('$p/category/description/text/text()' passing object_value as "p" returning content) from  category_a
    Result: "SYS.XMLTYPE".
    On the other hand, I noticed, from the result of query 1, that the opening tags of elements keyword and bold are encoded as the less than operator "&lt;". This explains why query 3 returns NULL. However, query 4 should display the text content of <text>, which is not the case.
    My questions are about
    1. How to properly insert the XML data while preserving the tags (especially the opening tag).
    2. How to display the data (the text portion of the main Element or of the nested elements).
    The problem about question 1 is that it is quite unfeasible to write a unique insert statement because the structure of <description> is recursive. In other words, if the structure of <description> was not recursive, it would be possible to embed the elements using the xmlelement function during the insertion.
    In fact, I need to insert the content of <description> from a source table (called category_a) into a target table (+category_b+) automatically .
    I filled category_a using the Saxloader utility from an flat XML file that I have generated from a benchmark. The content of <description> is different from one row to another but it is always valid with regards to the XML Schema. The data is properly inserted as witnessed by the "select * from category_a" instruction (500 row inserted). Besides, the opening tags of the nested elements under <description> are preserved (no "&lt;"). Then I wrote a PL/SQL procedure in which a cursor extracts the category id and category name into varchar2 variables and description into an XMLtype variable from category_a. When I try to insert the values into a category_b, I get the follwing error:
    LSX-00213: only 0 occurrences of particle "text", minimum is 1which tells that the <text> element is absent (actually it is present in the source table).
    So, my third question is why are not the tags recognized during the insertion?
    Can anyone help please?

    Hello,
    indded, I was using an old version of Sqlplus* (8.0.60.0.0) because I had a previous installation (oracle 10g XE). Instead, I used the Sqlplus* shipped with the 11g2database (version 11.2.0.1.0). All the queries that I wrote work fine and display the data correctly.
    I also used the XMLSERIALIZE function and can now display the description content in SQL Developer.
    Thank you very much.
    To answer your question Marco, I registered the XML Schema using the following code
    declare
      doc varchar2(4000) := '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xs:complexType name="bold_type" mixed="true">
              <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
                   <xs:element name="bold" type="bold_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="keyword" type="keyword_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="emph" type="emph_type"/>
              </xs:choice>
         </xs:complexType>
         <xs:complexType name="keyword_type" mixed="true">
              <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
                   <xs:element name="bold" type="bold_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="keyword" type="keyword_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="emph" type="emph_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="plain_text" type="xs:string"/>
              </xs:choice>
         </xs:complexType>
         <xs:complexType name="emph_type" mixed="true">
              <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
                   <xs:element name="bold" type="bold_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="keyword" type="keyword_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="emph" type="emph_type"/>
              </xs:choice>
         </xs:complexType>
         <xs:complexType name="text_type" mixed="true">
              <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
                   <xs:element name="bold" type="bold_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="keyword" type="keyword_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="emph" type="emph_type"/>
              </xs:choice>
         </xs:complexType>
         <xs:complexType name="parlist_type">
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element name="listitem" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" type="listitem_type"/>
              </xs:sequence>
         </xs:complexType>
         <xs:complexType name="listitem_type">
              <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
                   <xs:element name="parlist" type="parlist_type"/>
                   <xs:element name="text" type="text_type"/>
              </xs:choice>
         </xs:complexType>
         <xs:element name="category">
              <xs:complexType>
                   <xs:sequence>
                        <xs:element name="name"/>
                        <xs:element name="description">
                                  <xs:complexType>
                                            <xs:choice>
                                                           <xs:element name="text" type="text_type"/>
                                                           <xs:element name="parlist" type="parlist_type"/>
                                            </xs:choice>
                                  </xs:complexType>
                        </xs:element>
                                                                </xs:sequence>
                                                                <xs:attribute name="id"/>
                                            </xs:complexType>
                        </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>';
    begin
      dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema('/xmldb/category_auction.xsd', doc,     LOCAL      => FALSE,
            GENTYPES   => FALSE,  GENBEAN    => FALSE,   GENTABLES  => FALSE,
             FORCE      => FALSE,
             OPTIONS    => DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.REGISTER_BINARYXML,
             OWNER      => USER);
    end;then, I created the Category table as follows:
    CREATE TABLE category_a of XMLType XMLTYPE store AS BINARY XML
        XMLSCHEMA "xmldb/category_auction.xsd" ELEMENT "category";Now, there still remains a problem of how to insert the "description" content which I serialized as a CLOB data into another table as XML. To this purpose, I wrote a view over the Category_a table as follows:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW "AUCTION_XWH"."CATEGORY_V" ("CATEGORY_ID", "CNAME", "DESCRIPTION") AS
      select category_v."CATEGORY_ID",category_v."CNAME",
      XMLSerialize(content ( xmlquery('$p/category/description/*' passing object_value as "p" returning content)) as clob) as "DESCRIPTION"
      from  auction.category_a p,
    xmltable ('$a/category' passing p.Object_Value as "a"
    columns  category_id varchar2(15) path '@id',
              cname varchar2(20) path 'name') category_v;Then, I wrote a procedure to insert data into the Category_xwh table (the source and target tables are slightly different: the common elements are just copied wereas new elements are created in the target table). The code of the procedure is the following:
    create or replace PROCEDURE I_CATEGORY AS
    v_cname VARCHAR2(30);
    v_description clob ;
    v_category_id VARCHAR2(15);
    cursor mycursor is select category_id, cname, description from category_v;
    BEGIN
    open mycursor;
      loop
      /*retrieving the columns*/
      fetch mycursor into v_category_id, v_cname, v_description ;
      exit when mycursor%notfound;
      insert into category_xwh values
      (XMlElement("category",
          xmlattributes(v_category_id as "category_id"),
          xmlelement("Hierarchies", xmlelement("ObjHierarchy", xmlelement ("H_Cat"),
                                                               xmlelement ("Rollsup",
                                                                                  (xmlelement("all_categories",
                                                                                   xmlattributes('allcategories' as "all_category_id")))
        xmlforest (
                  v_cname as "cat_name",
                  v_description as "description")
    end loop;
      commit;
      close mycursor;
    END I_CATEGORY;When I execute the procedure, I get the following error:
    LSX-00201: contents of "description" should be elements onlyso, I just wonder if this is because v_description is considered as plain text and not as XML text, even if its content is XML. Do I need to use a special function to cast the CLOB as XML?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Dropdown menu problem in internet explorer

    i'm pretty new to css, and i'm having trouble in regards to
    the dropdown menu option (dreamweaver cs3). i've made a basic
    template, and everything looks fine (preliminarily!) in firefox,
    but in IE the dropdown menus have scrollbars and the word "false"
    floating in them. they're also positioned wrong. any advice on
    which styles are the problem? i've tried troubleshooting but its
    had little effect. here is the link:
