DSC and security features: automatic logout

Hello,
I'm using the security features of LabVIEW 8.5.1 and the DSC module.
Does someone know how to enable the automatic logout feature (logout after a specified time without user interaction)?

Hello Ben,
meanwhile a NI-Support-Engineer provided an answer for that issue:
If you are using LabVIEW DSC 7.1 there should be an
option in the menu where you can set the minutes of inactivity
until the automatic logout.
In LabVIEW 8.x you will have to implement this on your
own. There is a VI that will do the logout itself but the
timing needs to be implemented by yourself.
So Ben, you are right: this functionality is simply not available anymore in LabVIEW 8.x!

but the contained example VI doesn't make too much sense.
The problem is that the DSC_Lougout.vi ignores the "idle" in "Minutes idle until logout". It simply logs out the user after a specific time elapsed without considering if the user is still active.

I am not aware of Mainframe integrations available , there is GET_FILE service that can do java IO steam for documents in WCC. You can use this to get multiple documents and merge them.
You need to look into WCC security model documentation on how you want to implement it for your use case below is a link for it

HT5914 Using AppleScript with Accessibility and Security features in Mavericks

I have an AppleScript that works fine when run from the AppleScript Editor and has an errorr when run as an App. This problem is described by the following knowledgebase article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5914 However, in my case the first error appears, but the second dialog does not. I've tried Signing the AppleScript, but the error remains. Any suggestions?

A regular AppleScript application saves its properties to the script in the application bundle, which is seen as a new (different) application. If your script doesn't need to keep its properties (e.g. to save some current value for the next run), you can try making the script read only, then add the application to the Privacy list.

Logout, sleep, and secure trash empty

When securely emptying trash, the system goes to sleep, then tries to log out if the system is left unattended while trash is securely being emptied. When I go to wake the system, I have to log in (expected from reading other threads); however, the secure trash emptying prevented finder from quitting (the "Finder can't quit becaused some operations are in progress" and the "Trash" emptying window still active diolog window appears after relogging in) and the login items closed during the logout do not reopen after logging in. Energy saver is temporarily set for the system to not sleep due to a very large amount of files that need deleting.

Open the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences and turn off automatic logout.

2) Which edition provides this (Standar/Enterprise/Grid)?

Which version of Coherence are you using? The changes to the security API in 3.6 make it much easier to use than previous versions. As Luk has alreay said the security features are common to all editions of Coherence.
What do you want to secure - presumably you are talking about access to caches etc from an application inside WebLogic. How does you WebLogic application communicate to the cluster, is the WebLogic application a storage disabled cluster member or is it an Extend client? The choice makes a difference to the options available for security.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

On startup I get an Alert dialog that tells me that some security feature is not working and I should correct things in the Firefox profile. What's going on?

On Mac OS X 10.6.6, MacBook Pro.
When I launch Firefox I get an Alert that says,
Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.
If I click OK, it goes away and Firefox seems to work fine, but I don't like this situation. Anyone know what this is?
I've trashed the old Firefox (which left a few dynamic libs open and I had to restart to empty the trash) and I installed the latest Firefox (3.6.14), but the problem remains. I found a profile for Firefox in the /Library/Cache folder, but I don't know what to do with it. My disk has plenty of room.

Thank you. I was able to find the security setting section. The problem I have now, however, is writing the VBA to save to PDF and incorporate the security settings. I thought if i applied the settings to the Excel document I was working on it would carry over, but this does not seem to be the case. Any idea's?

DT message on login and automatic logout

Hi,
a user booted the Solaris 9 (SunBlade 150) and proceeded a normal login.
The DT Message came saying to check /etc/hosts and other files, and
did automatic logout. The /var/adm/messages entry is this:

In the user's directory, remove .TTauthority and .Xauthority. Check that .dtprofile is degault (may want to copy it from another user). I don't remember if you have to remove .ICEauthority as well. Then have the user log back in.

I purchased an iphone 4s secondhand but now i find that the person has a security feature still locked onto the phone and they are not responding to my message. Is there any way to resolve this problem.

How do I resolve an issue with a secondhand phone purchase that has a security feature link to it and it hasnt been removed therefore I cant use the phone.

Sorry, there is no way around the Activation Lock. You either need to contact the original owner and get them to turn off Find My iPhone and wipe the phone from their iCloud account, or you need to return it to the seller.

Not able to portletise an ADF application with Security Feature.

Here I am tring to secure some page of application as per user role usinf ADF secuiry feature.
The application runs fine in "stand alone" mode.
While tring portletise i am getting portlet unavilable. So i think i need to modify my portlet.xml OR web.xml

PB17 sleeps due to automatic logout

Does anyone here know how to turn off automatic logout? My PB17 goes to Screen Saver after 15 min, but if I've been in class for an hour and come back to see if I have any messages, my computer is on a black screen and wont go back to the desktop. I have to force shut down-restart the whole thing. This is getting VERY old. Sometimes, depending on what programs are running, the automatic logout is cancelled due to a certain program. Is there a way to fight this so I can have my computer running more than it is now?

You can disable automatic logout from the Security pane of System Preferences.

During my design, i am considering to get the following security features.
NOTE: I don't have WCS and Mobility Services Engine (MSE).
Managing Access Points at remote/WAN office.
wIPS configuration (without WCS and MSE)
How Rouge APs will be detected and Prevented. Can Automated prevention be implemented.
Is wIPS (with WLC 5508) support to detect and prevent Rouge AP.
Is Proxy Redirection supported on WLC so that the traffic from Wireless clients will automatically be redirected to Proxy (without adding the proxy in explorers of Wireless Clients).
Unfortunatelly i dont have LAB to test these features, so please respond.......

Thanks for your detailed response. I still have confusion regarding the Point5. Find the following details;
Current Design:
All the Internet traffic (http, https) for Wired and Wireless users is forwarded to proxy server (microsoft ISA/10.1.100.1)) for internet access.
For this purpose, all users have to add proxy to their explorers.
New Design/Requirements for Wireless Guest Users:
For the Wireless Guests users to get internet, they will have to add the proxy in their Explorers.
I would like to provide them Internet Access without additing proxy in their Explorers (not to bother them with configuring their laptops).
Is it possible, if WLC can automatically redirect the Internet traffic from Guests users to proxy Server (10.1.100.1).
