DTR for custom package in EP6

Hi,
   We are currently on EP5 using a custom developed MSS package with PDK. We are going to migrate to EP6 and install standard mss package 60.1.5 and use only selected standard functionality useful for us
We are also planning to to use DTR for version control.
   1. I would like to know whether is there any standard way or guidelines suggested by SAP.
   2. Anybody have done such kind of implementation and would like to share their views.
   3. Is it a good idea to move all custom developed components in to DTR and leave the standard components as such or move all custom  and standard components in to DTR.
Regards,
Arun

Hi,
1. I would like to know whether is there any standard way or guidelines suggested by SAP.
>> as per my understanding SAP has comeup with NWDI (DTR, CBS and CMS) inview to have a single repository which can be used for complete Code and Component Management. Feature included
1. DTR - Code Version in a Team Environment
2. CBS - Component Build Service to enable Component Build taking all dependencies into consideration.
3. CMS - Movement of Component from Dev to Test and then to Prd environment.
2. Anybody have done such kind of implementation and would like to share their views.
>> we use NWDI for webdynpro components and not for MSS package components. so i really cant pour my opinion on that.
3. Is it a good idea to move all custom developed components in to DTR and leave the standard components as such or move all custom and standard components in to DTR.
>> in my opinion it is best to have NWDI as it will always stay ins sync with the SP releases. but again we will have additional migration of NWDI which is un-avoidable.
Hope that helps.

    Hi Guys,
    We have created a custom package where in we are trying to call the standard API's of Oracle projects i.e PA_PROJECT_PUB.When we are trying to call these APIs we are facing the below issue.
    We have tried testing in two instances ,Initially it worked in both instances.
    Using the same API's multiple times we tested the same data set in these instances.
    For the first few runs it works fine.But when we go on using the same API's again and again for our testing we face now and then the below issue.

  • Can't find photo info option for print custom package

    Am I being very stupid as the "photo info" option in "Page" appears for any of my user templates, but not when I create a new custom package. Just ends at "cut guidlines". I'm trying to print 2 landscape and 1 portrait on the same sheet with their captions.
    Thanks for any advice

    It is available in single image/contact sheet.
    That means single image /different images
    But indeed NOT in Custom Package

  • Inspection type for customer return of returnable package material

    Hi Guys,
             I send the returnable package to the customer , while reciving that material to my stock (when the customer return to me ) i want to create outbound delivery with out order refference .
    I want system to create inspection lot after doing PGR of the outbound delivery .
    The inspection lot sould have the option of result recording and stock posting when i do usage decission
    This requirement not met by inspection type 06 , i want to create new inspection type to met above mentioned all requirement .
    please provide the steps to be performed to met the same.
    Thanks and regards
    Thamizhchelvan G

    Hi,
    The 06 - Inspection type is not stock relevant and also it is not possible to change because it is SAP std.
    1. If you want inspection for Customer with stock, active 05 - Inspection type in Material Master, and move the stock from customer return to QI by using MB1B with Movement type 457 Stock transfer returns to QI. After that system will create the Inspection lot in 05 Inspection type.
    2. If don't want stock for inspection and directly post to Unrestricted using MB1B with movement type 453 Transfer posting to returns from customer to Unrest.
    3. Customer return to Blocked stock using MB1B with mvt type 459 Stock transfer returns to blocked
    Case2.
    Inspection type 05 is a stock relevant inspection type.
    To use 05 you must assign the 05 inspection type to the delivery item in configuration.
    Follow this path.
    Tcode vov6 - there will be schedule line category DN.
    go to details of DN.In Business data, check which movement type is assigned here.
    I think in your case it will be 651.
    Change it to 655 and try now.
    hope it will work.
    Thanks
    Vinay

  • Custom packager for streaming?

    We've been developing an implementation of Flash Access that included our own packager, based on the packager that comes with the reference implementation.  The customization allows for overriding the CEK, automcatically assigns a contentId and records the same in our database, and tailors a unique license request base URL for that content.
    We want to support streaming video, and so have been following the information found here: http://www.adobe.com/products/httpdynamicstreaming/.  It appears that packaging files for streaming requires a different packager, f4fpackager.exe.  I haven't seen if there's a way to build our own streaming packager.  Is there a way we can package video for streaming and get the customization we need?
    [edited]
    It looks like the f4fpackager can either fragment & encrypt, or just fragment.  Can we use the f4fpackager to fragment only, and then run our custom packager to encrypt?  If so, how is that done?
    John

    Yeah, great, thanks Adobe... you've just lost years worth of community comments and resource there!
    Who thought that removing that forum could ever be a good idea?!
    It could have stayed as a static 'read only' forum with this being the new place to add comments and threads.
    Shocking really...
    Please Adobe re-instate it. You're normally amazing but this truly sucks and is very surprising.

  • Creating an ISP Bill for Customer Problem, What did i do wrong?

    Ok so the point of this program is to create a bill for customers selecting different packages for this ISP. Now i have done all the code, made the methods and what now, but there is a problem, in my main method which tests the methods in my class, the object does not get passed through the method and my toString method does not return the output. i will post the code below, did i do anything wrong?
    this is the code for the class:
    public class Customer extends appProg
        //these are the base set of hours for each package
        public final double BASE_HOURS_A= 10.00;
        public final double BASE_HOURS_B= 20.00;

        public final double PER_HOUR_COST_A= 2.00;
        public final double PER_HOUR_COST_B= 1.00;
        public final double PER_HOUR_COST_C= 0.00;

                 case 'a':
                    System.out.println(""+name+" has chosen package A.");

              customer1.totalCharges();
              customer1.toString();
        }

    in my main method which tests the methods in my class,
    the object does not get passed through the method That statement makes no sense. You can pass objects to methods. However, you do not pass objects "through methods". In any case, neither your totalCharges() method nor your toString() method is defined to accept any parameters--much less an object as a parameter.
    and my toString method does not return the outputHow do you know that? Your toString() method is defined to return a String. Where in your program do you attempt to display the String that is returned?
    did i do anything wrong?If you call a method on an object, and the method returns something, you need to assign the returned value to a variable--otherwise the returned value will disappear into the ether. Subsequently, if you want to display the returned value, you have to take steps to do that as well.
    It sounds like you need to revisit a simple "Hello World" program and play around with it a little bit.

  • Pkgman - a bash script for local package and PKGBUILD management

    hi all,
    here is a script which manages a local repository and lets you edit
    PKGBUILDs and other related files, automatically generates checksums,
    build packages, add them to your local repo and so on.
    it also has AUR support for submitting tarballs, leaving comments, etc.
    get it from here:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/pkgman/
    and AUR package:
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=17100
    you need abs, curl and pacman and optionally namcap and desktop-file-utils.
    RTFM online:
    http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/p … n_man_page
    first of all copy the pkgman.conf and AUR.conf files from /usr/share/pkgman to ~/.config/pkgman/  or ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/pkgman - if ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME} is set,
    edit these two files and then run
    pkgman --runmefirst
    pkgman doesn´t install anything. if you want it just builds the package and moves it to your local repository. install it then with pacman.
    it also has no dependency handling. there are many other tools which provide this.
    the main intention was to keep track of package versions, different PKGBUILD versions and own AUR submitted tarballs; also to keep a clean local repository and clean build directories.
    pkgman is stable now. i´m using it for months without any issues.
    however, if there are problems or feedback please post them here.
    vlad
    changelog:
    version 2.4:
           *pkgman now respects the PKGDEST and SRCDEST variables from makepkg.conf. (though it still moves the src.tar.gz and .pkg.tar.gz to package backup directory).
    version 2.5:
           *pkgman uses PKGDEST if SRCDEST not set in makepkg.conf.
    version 2.6 -> r26:
           *changed version system: version 2.6 is now r26!
           *minor changes: > pkgman uses now the $SHELL variable.
                                    > new and more comprehensible manpage description (thanks to bender02)
    version r27:
           *changed SRCDEST since it's only a cache dir. all files (pkg.tar.gz and src.tar.gz) go to PKGDEST.
    version r28:
           *added new variable ShellCommand to pkgman.conf. Default is $SHELL.
           *One might use an external application (like screen or xterm) to switch to build directory and edit files simultaneously.
    version r30:
           *minor changes. nothing crucial
    r32: *OverwriteExistingPackage isn't used anymore. one can delete it from ~/.config/pkgman/pkgman.conf.
           *minor changes
    version r33:
           *"-l|--list" also shows installed package version and available ABS/AUR PKGBUILD version for given package.
           *"-a|--abs" can now also be used with other options (like "-e")
    r39: * when backing up src.tarballs it asks whether to backup the source file or not
           * more detailed "--list" option - also shows if package is installed or not and available ABS/AUR version
           * added prompt to clean up directory after makepkg
           * when checking pkg.tar.gz also possibility to check for conflicts with files of already installed packages
           * use $PAGER instead of less
           * --help directly shows the manpage
           * --shorthelp shows a brief usage overview
           * added a custom prompt, but only when using bash (is somehow experimental - works fine here for me)
           * minor internal changes
           * pkgman also reads ~/.aurvote file for getting aur name and password. if one already uses aurvote then there is no need for the
             ~/.config/pkgman/AUR.conf file.
    r40: * new manual page & rewrite of usage function
           * both option "--flush" and "--flushall" were omitted in favor of the more versatile "--cleanup" option
           * pkgman <packagename> checks now if <packagename> is owned by user
           * backup option after each editing
           * added license
           * minor internal changes
    r41: * just small bug fixes, nothing crucial.
    r42: * more bugs fixed.
    r45: * new options added:
              >   --listversions: list local and available versions of installed packages from LocalPackages directory
              >  --getownpackages: synchronize local own packages with AUR
           * added new variable in pkgman.conf:
              > ListOutputInPager: output of, for example, "--list" or "--own" is piped into $PAGER
           * added a new optional dependency "desktop-file-utils" for validating desktop entry files
           * also supports now auto-generation of sha sums not only md5
           * internal fixes due to AUR interface changes:
              > use of json interface
              > correct parsing of package category
           * added 2 proto files (located under /usr/share/pacman):
              >  proto.desktop: a template for *.desktop files
              > PKGBUILD-lib32.proto: a template for lib32 packages for x86_64
           * some code changes and fixes
    r46: * added new option to pkgman.conf (AutoGenerateSums).
             > if AutoGenerateSums=no then pkgman asks whether to generate checksums or not.
             > if set to yes it behaves like in former versions.
    r52: * "--getownpackages" with more than 100 packages works again
           * added new option "--cachecopy":
              For each package in CacheCopyList (new variable in pkgman.conf) get existing package from pacman's cache directory - if
              CopyPkgFromCache (new variable in pkgman.conf) is set to yes - and/or create a source tarball of PKGBUILD and related files from ABS -
              if CopySrcFromABS (new variable in pkgman.conf) is set to yes - and copy them to package backup directory.
           * added new variables to pkgman.conf:
               > "CacheCopyList=file" - batch backup file, one package per line - default location is "$HOME/.config/pkgman/package.list".
               > "CopySrcFromABS=[yes|no]"
               > "CopyPkgFromCache=[yes|no]"
           * some bugfixes
           * docs completed
           * CacheCopyList should look like
    package1
    package2
    #this is a comment
    ! this too
    package3
    !package4
    r54: * renamed "--listversions" option to "--diffversions". makes more sense!
              from the man page:
                  pkgman --diffversions
                  Show differing ABS/AUR versions of installed packages from LocalPackages.
    r55: * minor changes.
    r57: * testing release
           * added a new option "--rollback":
               "pkgman <packagename> --rollback" - checks  http://arm.kh.nu for available package versions,
                                                          lets you choose one, fetches the package and
                                                          moves it to the <packagename> backup directory (if "--repoadd" is used).
    r59: * stable release
           * new option "--rollback" (see r57):
                   it checks http://arm.kh.nu (Arch Rollback Machine) for available package versions,
                   downloads chosen file and moves it to local repository (if "-r|--repoadd"  is used).
            * posting files/comments/etc to AUR should work now again.
    r65: *stable release
           * new option "-M,--meta" to create metapackages and add them and their dependencies to local repository.
              it searches for deps inside the backup directories, pacman's cache and if the packages are not available, it tries to fetch the missing
              dependencies from the Arch Rollback Machine site (http://arm.kh.nu).
    r66: * minor fixes
    r68: * some bugfixes
           * "--repoadd" and "--Reporemove" now accurately removes old packages from LocalRepository
    r69: * small bugfixes when listing packages with similar names
           * curl retries now 5 times if connection is not established
    r75: * "--cachecopy" does not try to dl sourcefiles when backing up ABS PKGBUILDs
           * some work on package splitting
           * further internal changes
    r76: * minor mistakes with "ln" purged
    r79: * mostly small changes
           * "--cleanup" now also removes uninstalled packages from LocalRepository
    r81 & r80: * added AUR v1.6.0 support (use more json)
                    * small ARM changes ("--rollback")
    r85:
          * pkgman supports pkg.tar.xz packages
          * some code rewrite, bugs purged (hopefully)
    r113:
          * pkgman now supports building split packages through makepkg.
             If you already use pkgman you need to rerun "pkgman --runmefirst" after updating.
          * new  "-t,--template" option ("pkgman <packagename> --template <alt. packagename> [--pkgbuildversion <version>] [options]").
             Useful to create a new PKGBUILD and use an existing one as a template.
          * new option: "--conf /path/to/alternate/conf/file" - Specify another configuration file.
          * pkgman now uses ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/pkgman or $HOME/.config/pkgman - if first not set - as the default location for its conf files.
    r116:

  • How can I get an ucropped image in a Custom Package when using Stroke and/or Border??

    How can I get a picture in a Custom Package that has a Stroke and/or a border and get the image shown fully, and not cropped in one way or other?
    When I add the stroke/border it adds them inside the cell, thereby altering the ratio of the area for the picture inside it, which crops it in some way. How can I get the image to be uncropped?  The controls available seem to all be for the ration of the outside of the cell, but my image is inside the stroke/border and nothing seems to work on it directly ...
    Many thanks,
    Gary

    Perhaps I misunderstood your requirement.  I have been frustrated by LR print module and labs effectively squeezing individual shots into existing frames. So I have used LR2Mogrify to export (and then re-import) a 'new image' which manages the discrepancy between a crop and a cell of a different aspect ratio by adding padding - usually 'white' - around the image to a canvas corresponding to cell dimensions. Adding stroke borders can be accomplished in Mogrify inside or outside the image.  A custom package, with multiple cell dimensions can be populated with images created in the corresponding aspect ratio(s) for the relevant cells.
    I'm not aware of a way of automating the creation of cells in a page to dimensions which change with the crop as discovered  - drag and drop images onto a blank page creates cells of the same standard size.

  • How do I personalize a form to call a custom package instead of standard

    We are finding that the vertex tax package is not correctly calculating the taxes for AR late changes. The late payment charge invoices are being created without an item and we know that if we had this in there the taxes would be calculated correctly. We have a solution designed by a senior architect and would like to pursue that approach unless it has been established it is impossible.
    From the Batch maintenance form ARIINR.fmb there is a generate button. It calls some pl/sql and eventually the api to create the invoice. What we want to do here is from the when button pressed trigger call a custom package (with most of the same logic intact). The problem is is that we don't want to call both the custom and standard package, only the custom one.
    My question is really is there any way to avoid calling the standard package by exiting out of the trigger after the custom package completed? I know I could easily change the standard form to accomplish this but we want to accomplish this in such a way to still maintain our support with Oracle on this form. So we are looking to do this via a personalization or custom.pll change.
    Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

    To my knowledge, both CUSTOM.pll and Forms Personalization execute code in addition to standard code, not instead off.

  • Problem in creating include program for customer exit for BC425_01

    Hi,
         I want to write a customer exit for transaction BC425_01. For identifying the include program for exit , i go to System->Status.There I double click on the program name(GUI).Then I perform a 'FIND' in main program for 'customer-function' keyword. I get 3 search results with "CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '001' " , "CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '002' " , "CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '003' ".
    Now i double click on CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '001'  and i am taken to the code of program where this function is called in MODULE cust_check INPUT. I double click on CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '001'  and then I am taken to the function module code which contains a single statement 'INCLUDE ZXBC425G01U01 .' .
    Now I double click on this include program so that I can write my own code. But when i double click on it , a message displayed 'Program names ZX.. are reserved for includes of exit function groups'. Hence I am not able to creates this include program and write my coding.
    Kindly Help
    THANKS

    Hi Amber,
    Then you click enter button.It is asking to create object with that include name ZXBC425G01U01 in a pop-up.You  should select YES option.It will ask package . Give the package name and save.Then include program is created and allowed you to write your own code.
    Thanks,
    Prasad GVK.

  • Maximum package size for data packages was exceeded and Process terminated

    Hello Guru,
    When i am execute the process chain i got this message Maximum package size for data packages was exceeded and Process terminated,any body help to me in this case how can i proceed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh.

    Hi,
    When the load is not getiing processed due to huge volume of data, or more number of records per data packet, Please try the below option.
    1) Reduce the IDOC size to 8000 and number of data packets per IDOC as 10. This can be done in info package settings.
    2) Run the load only to PSA.
    3) Once the load is succesfull , then push the data to targets.
    In this way you can overcome this issue.
    You can also try RSCUSTV* where * is an integer to change data load settings.
    Change Datapackage size for extraction, use Transaction RSCUSTV6.
    Change Datapackage size when upload from an R/3 system, set this value in R/3 Customizing (SBIW -> General settings -> Control parameters for data transfer).
    IN R/3, T-Code SBIW --> Genaral settings --> Maintain Control Parameters for Data Transfer (source system specific)
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • How to Download the Custom Package Created with all the objects

    Hi All,
    Could any body let me know how to download a custom package created in sap with all the objects including webdynpros and modulepool programs.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    U can use open source programs available in net like Mass Download, ZAPLINK, SAPLINK.
    Mass Download --> Download the objects
    SAPLINK, ZAPLINK --> Used for downloading and also for importing the downloaded objects to other system.
    Regards,

  • PKGBUILD for custom kernel issue

    Hi all,
    Last night I was putting together a PKGBUILD for a kernel I'd like to compile that has the ck patchset, grsecurity (latest testing), and had broadcom-wl on it already so I don't have to keep reinstalling it from AUR and doing depmod each time as it keeps making me have to find an ethernet cable. I used the kerne26 Arch PKGBUILD as a base and included parts of kernel-netbook for broadcom-wl, kernel26-grsecurity, and kernel26-ck and altered name variables and links etc so it all works and all sources are downloaded. I also got the two .patch files (semaphore and something else) from the kernel-netbook tarball to build the thing with, I don't know if it would work without them.
    However when I get into the build() a few patches are applied before I get messages about patches already applied or reversed, and then it says build failed because of an error, I can't tell which package is causing thins or why (it all goes by too fast, and the error says failed without reason, and the reversed patch messages are what is immediately previous to it). I have not yet gone all the way through the pkgbuild - especially towards the end, and I felt that the standard setup of init file system creation and such were ok, and if anything does need altering about it, I can deal with it once I get these first troubles solved.
    Below is my pkgbuild so far. Hopefully there are people out there who can aid me with this.
    Thanks,
    Ben.

    Thank you. I guess trying the abs method wouldn't hurt. My main issue was configuration. I've only just skimmed the PKGBUILD so I'm not aware of how it handles it. I suppose I could write my own as described in the wiki as well. Thanks again.
    Edit: Further research has revealed to me that the kernel headers are merely there for when the full source tree isn't. Seeing as the full tree is present in my case, the headers are unnecessary. I may take graysky's advice though and use pacman to manage my kernel.
