Dtrace support in 64 java on solaris 10

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, if not, please pointing me to it.
I installed latest jdk 1.6_23, using self-extract file, on solaris 10 x64 machine,
and I can't find the hotspot provider for dtrace when I use 64 bit jvm,
I can find them when I use 32 bit,
I use the following command:
$ dtrace -ln 'hotspot*:::'
When I run java -server TestGreeting, (this is endless loop I borrowed from internet)
I got the probes
When I run with java -d64 -server TestGreeting
I got the following error:
-bash-3.00$ dtrace -ln 'hotspot*:::'
ID PROVIDER MODULE FUNCTION NAME
dtrace: failed to match hotspot*:::: No probe matches description
and when I use ps -ef to grep the java, it shows
~/jdk1.6.0_23/bin/amd64/java -server TestGreeting
Does dtrace support 64 bit JVM?
Thanks

Use 32bit for client VM. 64bit client VM is really

  • IE5, Java and Solaris?!

hi! i run a solaris 8 system with a sparc cpu. now i install internet explorer from mircosoft. but there is nor virtual mashine or java included!? i need java in my browser...
so i download the plugin for solaris but there is no internet explorer support! only for netscape...
please help me how i can include java in my browser.

    Hello fLaTpInG,
Is there a reason that you do not want to use Netscape? IE Java Plug-In support has been discontinued by Sun. Netscape 4.x is the only browser that currently supported by the Java Plug-In.
Microsoft has information on using Java Plug-In VM for Solaris at:

  • Java 1.5, Servlet 2.4 support in Sun Java System Web Server?

    Hi All,
Does anyone know when the next version of Sun Java System Web Server will be released? 6.1 has been around a while and it doesn't support the latest Java releases, which is odd for a Java product from the company that owns Java. My Sun rep didn't have an answer for me and suggested posting here.
I have seen references to people trying to use 1.5 with their server in another forum, but they were reporting problems and their questions weren't answered.
    Thanks!
    Dennis

    Hi,
    Try the new
SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition
thus you will have the chance to use the latest Servlet 2.5. The download package includes also the new SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

  • Moving from com.sun.xml classes to the new xml support integrated in java

So far, for our XML implementation, we have used the DocumentEx, ElementEx, etc. from com.sun.xml.
We understand that xml is now supported by the java itself (javax.xml.parsers?) and we wish to update our code to use the newer API.
Is there a simple mapping between the old DocumentEx and ElementEx and new classes in javax.xml? Can it really be simple to "get rid" of com.sun.xml?

    The combination of the:
    Oracle XML SQL Utility
    and
Oracle XML Parser for PLSQL V2
    give you what you need.

  • Java on Solaris 10

    Dear All,
I need some guidance on Java version compatibility and configuration with Solaris 10. We are having SunOS 5.10 Generic_144488-17, but in the DSEE installation we have used JES 5 which have built in problems, which actually de graded system cacao services and libraries. Later we resolved this issue by applying patch and upgraded the cacao. Here the question is, now i need to verify the Java on the system is reliable and accurate. Could you provide me some link, where I could understand the Java and Solaris.
Below is the Java information which am able to pull from the server.
    bash-3.00# java -version
    java version "1.5.0_30"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_30-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_30-b03, mixed mode)
    bash-3.00# uname -a
    SunOS ssino07 5.10 Generic_144488-17 sun4v sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise-T5220
    bash-3.00# showrev
    Hostname: sxxx
    Hostid: 85594e34
    Release: 5.10
    Kernel architecture: sun4v
    Application architecture: sparc
    Hardware provider: Sun_Microsystems
    Domain:
    Kernel version: SunOS 5.10 Generic_144488-17
Also would like to share one error, which actually made to open this thread on Solaris Form. Its related to DSEE installation [already opened a thread there], when we copying the one LDAP configuration settings from one server to another server, we got a schema error. Could you guide me specific to Java here.
Failed: Error updating the server xxxx:389. The error is javax.naming.NameAlreadyBoundException: mgrpRFC822MailMember"
    Many thanks in advance,

Your default system java doesn't matter, ie Solaris has a version of java linked to /usr/bin/java which may link to the same version that DSEE is using or not, ie you can have multiple versions of java on your system. DSEE and the rest of the JES products have their own Java installation linked to a location under /usr/jdk/entsys-j2se
As for your second question, if the schema is different between two servers, then migrating data between them will give you schema violations. In your specific case, have you ever installed any versions of the JES Messaging Server? Some older versions had a conflicting OID in the schema. A quick fix would be just copy the S99user.ldif from the working server to the other server.

  • Why only j2sdkee1.3 support JNDI lookup "java:comp/env" from remote client?

    Hi:
I have been puzzled by this function of j2sdkee1.3.1 support JNDI lookup "java:comp/env" from client. I always think that "java:comp/env" namespace can only be access by the application server self for it is a private namespace. The weblogic and websphere doest support this.
    Why?
    Regards!
    John Lee

Hi:I'm unable to get JNDI reference object from remote application client with "java:comp/env/ejb/<lookupName>".
    The exception says:
Application threw an exception:javax.naming.CommunicationException: Cannot connect to ORB [Root exception is org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE:   vmcid: SUN  minor code: 201 completed: No]
The J2EE server and client are run on different machines, and needs to be like this. There isn't any problem with JSP/Servlet (cause they run/execute on the server itself). How will the client find out the JNDI refernce my mere specification of "java:comp/env/..."?
Am I making a mistake anywhere?
BEA Weblogic & IBM Websphere allows explicitly specifying the server name, while doing JNDI lookup. Is there anything similary for J2EE?
I couldn't find reference for this anywhere in the J2EE tutorial or EJB books.

  • How does NetWeaver support FIPS in java part?

As we know,  default JDK doesn't support FIPS in the SSL/TLS socket.
There are 3rdpart soft, like certicom, bsafe can support this.
And in the opensource, NSS + jdk, seems can be a solution.
Here, just a question, how does NetWeaver support FIPS in java part?  Is there an internal implementation?
    Thanks.

I'm not aware of any. The library is backwards compatible so you should be able to replace an existing SAP Cryptographic Library with CommonCryptoLib. The Crypto Kernel implementation seems to exist only for AS ABAP. Maybe someone working on security at SAP can comment, I will ping the Security space to get their attention.

  • Getting invalid packages when installing support for stored java objects

I am getting invalid packages notices when installing support for stored java objects in Forms 9i that can with the Oracle 9iDS Suite. In the post installation notes it says to locate a few SQL files, PLB files and a JAR file and run them. On executing the SQL package that will install the rest , I am logged in as SYSTEM as the instructions stated, I get an error when it tries to load the PLB files ( which are encrypted from Oracle). Any one else have this problem or know of a solution?
If you need more information please let me know and I will try to respond promptly.
    Thanks
    Chad Leath

The PLB package is called ORA_DE_REFLECTION. I forgot to mention this in the previous post.

You have GNU Java 1.5.0. In order to use IDE and Performance Analyzer you need to install SUN Java 1.6.0.
    [http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/ssx/express_November2008.html|http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/ssx/express_November2008.html] :
The Sun Studio package installer, IDE, and Performance Analyzer require Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 6 Update 3 or higher, which can be downloaded from the [Java SE Downloads site|http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/?intcmp=1281] if the required version is not available on your target platform.

  • Check if client browser supports javascript and java

    Hi everybody,
I would like to know if there is any means by which we could check on the server side, if the client's browser supports Javascript and java.
    bye
    Praveen

It would be a bit of a hack, but you could embed a Javascript snippit in the actual HTML that would use document.write() to output a hidden tag. If your server recieved the hidden tag on a GET or POST request, you would know that Javascript was enabled.
