DTRShell and 2 DTRs on one machine

Hi,
I'm playing around with the DTR and have two DTRs sitting on one machine in two instances. One is on instance 00 and the other one on 03. When I open the dtrshell it connects to the instance 00 by default. How can I connect to the DTR on instance 03???
Kind regards,
Heiko

Hello Heiko,
the DTRs on the 00 and 03 instance listen to different HTTP ports, i.e. 50000 for instance 00 and 50300 for 03 by default ( 50000 + instance_number*100 ).
Localize the files servers.xml and clients.xml on your system (usually in the .dtr folder in your home directory) and create corresponding entries for your second instance. The <client> entry with attribute "active=true" is the default client.
Best Regards
Michael

    You can do this as long as you install them in different Oracle homes.

  • Using a wired AND wireless network on one machine for better security

    It occurs to me that if I could separate my Internet traffic from my LAN traffic, I could have the best security setup, so that machines on my network would only have file sharing enabled for the WIRED connection and I would use the Internet over the WIRELESS connection.
    How do I configure my PowerBook and Mac Mini to do this? In the Sharing preference pane, it doesn't allow me to specify which network port the sharing will be active on.
    And once I am conncected to both a wireless and wired network, giving each machine 2 IP addresses, how does the computer know to route the IP addresses to the right port?
    I'm using an Airport Extreme Base Station (connected to a cable modem) configured to distribute IP addresses to the wireless ports on the computers for Internet and a Linksys router distributing IP addresses to the ethernet ports on the computers with sharing turned on.

    in the Thinkvantage Access software, you can set the network preferences. So you can set the Ethernet to be your most preferred network connection method, while your wireless as the second most preferred method. Or which way you prefer.
    So for example, when you dock and the computer detects the ethernet network connection, it will automatically switch to the ethernet as it becomes available. And when you undock, your computer will switch back to wireless as ethernet is not available.

  • Can Oracle 10g and Oracle 9i coexist and run together in one machine

    Dear Friends,
    I have installed Oracle 10g on my machine which already had Oracle 9i - 9.1.2.0 Release. Now the problem is that when i try to create a service name it gives me this error- ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor. To overcome this what i have done is that i have stopped the Oracle 9i listner and started the Oracle 10g listner, it is working after this but Oracle 9i service stpooed. Does this mean that Oracle 9i & 10g listner can't run together ? Or one has to stop the listner for one version to start another. The port number is same 1521 for both the listner. When i tried to change the port number still the same error comes as described above.
    Kindly enlighten me,
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vinay

    if you want to configure both listener (oracle 9i and 10g listener)
    then u configure
    listener9i on 1521 port
    and other
    listener10g is on 1522 port
    also make changes in tnsnames.ora file
    as
    ora9i =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.16.1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = ora9i)
    ora10g =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.16.1 )(PORT = 1522))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = ora10g)

  • Can Snow Leopard and Leopard coexist on one machine?

    I guess the question is does Snow Leopard update the firmware of exiting machines or is the firmware updated in the new machines so they cannot support Leopard or even Tiger to run on them?
    Ideally I would like to install a second bootable hard drive with Leopard so we can run some apps that are not SL ready.
    So, can I do that on a machine that already runs Snow Leopard?
    Any ideas and suggestions are highly appreciated,
    thanks,
    NE

    It all depends on the build date of the machine. It is unsupported to install any version of Mac OS X on any Mac older than the version it shipped with. So a Mac that came with Snow Leopard installed can't reliably made to run Leopard or Tiger. (It might work, but you will almost certainly encounter issues.)
    Snow Leopard itself, however, does not update a machine's firmware when it is installed. Installing Snow Leopard on a machine does not preclude also running an older OS from time to time, as long as the machine was originally designed to run that OS at one point.

  • Having both fcs1 and fcs 2 in one machine

    is it possible to have both fcs 1 and fcs 2 (which i bought recently) into 1 machine? meaning having both fcp5 and 6 at the same time.
    if not how do i uninstall fcs1? is thereany uninstalling software that can make a clean uninstall (including library etc) and how would it effect the previous work files?

    Welcome to the forum!
    Having two versions of FCP on the same system isn't recommended by Apple. However, it does work if you create a dual boot system (one install per OS).

  • Install Access 2010 Full and Runtime together on one machine?

    Hi,
    a client at my company has many access database projects. They run mostly fine with Access Runtime. We provide the Apps with a Server 2008 R2 via Terminal Services as RemoteApp. Is there a way to install the Full Access Version parallel to the Runtime? So
    if i publish a RemoteApp i just can choose between the two paths for Runtime or Full and provide the AccessApp either with one of both?
    AFAIK if i install the full Version of Access 2010, it overwrites the Runtime and uses the same paths as the Runtime used before (something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSACCESS.exe)
    Thanks in advance for your hints,
    Rolf

    Hi,
    Yes, of course you could install the Access 2010 and Access Runtime 2010 in the same machine.As you know the Access Runtime 2010's detail imformation, you could choose to distribute those Access 2010 solutions so that they run without requiring
    a full installation.
    And the Access 2010 full version is also included in Office 2010, you could choose only install the Access 2010 and change the install path by using OCT.

  • NetWeaver Portal and ERP 6.0: BI, ESS/MSS and full Portal on one machine

    Hello,
    with ERP 6.0 you need a EP Core Portal for BI Java. An other EP Core Portal for HCM ECC/MSS. The iViews from this portal you integrate in the main portal via federated portal. But in this scenario i need to much portals and have a lot of maintenance costs (administration overhead for evry portal). For a small Customer i will build one Portal for all. It is possible e.g. to use the BI Portal with ESS/MSS and as full portal?
    Best regards,
    Patrick

    Hi,
    So you would like one BI installation with both the ABAP and the Java-stack with the full BI-functionallity and additionally the XSS-component and set it up to work against the ECC ABAP-only system ?
    I think the scenario would actually work, but:
    1) You might get future problems if you want to upgrade your BI-system and not the ECC-system.
    Is it possible to run the old XSS-components in the new java-stack ?
    2) You might get future problems if you want to upgrade your ECC-system and not the BI-system.
    What if the new version of the XSS-component demands certain java-components which the BI-system do not have.
    So my recommendation is still to run the java-stack on both systems.
    ECC with the XSS-java-components and BI with the Bi-java-components.
    This way you do not lock yourself into a corner and each system can be upgrade independent of the other.

  • Multiple servers and multiple clients on one machine

    Hi,
    I was hoping someone could give me some direction as to how to go about creating multiple servers and muliple clients on the one computer using RMI and threads. I intend to have say 4 servents (able to perform both client and server methods) running on the one computer, with the clients being able to connect to each of the servers. (I'm doing this to emulate using 4 computers, which I don't have!). I know I have to use different ports to do this. How do I go about the following using RMI - start up a server (port number as argument from command line?), which starts a thread listening for connections from the other clients.. when a new connection is established between server and client, then start a new thread which 'handles' that connection.
    The examples I've seen of RMI only deal with single server and single client... I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how to go about this problem!!

    Hi,
    I suggest not to use the rmiregistry program at all
    but to start the registry in a program of your own.
    Then you can specify all you need (url, port, even
    client and server socket) as command line argument.
    You need something like this:
    Registry registry = null;
    Remote server = null;
    try
    { // this succeeds if the registry already runs
      registry = LocateRegistry.getRegistry(yourRegistry);
      server = registry.rebind( yourServer );
    }catch( RemoteException )
    { // no registry reachable, create one
      registry = LocateRegistry.createRegistry(yourRegistry);
      server = registry.rebind( yourServer );
    }Have fun,

  • DBCharEncoding UTF8 and  NATIVE on the one machine

    I'm trying to run two oracle lite databses on the same windows machine.
    First of the databases has been created with no DBCharEncodeing setttings set in polite.ini, second Database was created with DBCharEncoding set to UTF8.
    My Problem:
    If I the ploite.ini file looks as follows:
    [All Databases]
    DBCharEncoding=UTF8
    SuggestedSharedAddress=10270000
    I can Login to the second database created as UTF8-DB. But I'm not able to login to the old Database anymore.
    If I the ploite.ini file looks as follows:
    [All Databases]
    DBCharEncoding=NATIVE
    SuggestedSharedAddress=10270000
    I'm able to login to both databases but UTF8 isn't supported anymore.
    Question:
    Is it possible to set the DBCharEncoding-parameter per database? The two databases have different DatabaseIDs.
    What I'm looking for is something like this:
    [Databases Id=300]
    DBCharEncoding=NATIVE
    SuggestedSharedAddress=10270000
    [Database Id= 301]
    DBCharEncoding=UTF8
    SuggestedSharedAddress=20270000
    Is this possible? Or is there an other way to set two different DBCharEncoding values?
    Thanks for your advice.
    Kind regards
    Oli Schmid

    You can do this as long as you install them in different Oracle homes.

    Hi Everyone,
    I downloaded FMS installed it and tried it and it ran well but I have one problem. After I installing the FMS, my designs with Dreamweaver CS4 will not work when I try my design with IIS. Does any know how to make the IIS and FMS run on one machine? I have used MS IIS server to do my web design and tested them out as well with the same MS IIS sever. If any one knows how to get it right please let me know.
    Thanks.

  • How I can movie the DSC Security defined in one machine to another ?

    I have a LV 8.01 and DSP in a development machine. When I move all vi involved to another computer ( with LV PDS ) all security definitions was lost. I'm using a DSC Security. Waht I can do to move the security definician ( domain and users name ) from one machine to another ?
    Thanks,

    Project Manager

    Problem:
    I have developed an application with the LabVIEW DSC module and I created and used an NI Security Domain. Now I want to move this application to another network or PC. How can I keep the Domain settings for the new PC/network?
    Solution:
    You should copy the directory located at Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\Domain to the same location on the destination PC. To apply the changes you should restart your computer.
    You can also completely remove the NI Security Domain (if you forget your password, etc.) by deleting all the files from this Domain folder.

  • Moving iWeb designs from one machine to another?

    Okay,
    I've had time to use iLife apps enough to figure out a few things in the new "iWeb", but here is one that scratches my brain.
    Where does iWeb save designs?
    I have a design I have created on my PBook, but I would love to move it to my G5 so that I can work in it when I get home? -But where does it save the assets to the current pages? -am I stuck on creating and managing pages on one machine? And if I do, is there no way from the source area to be able to select a page and delete it from the site structure if I don't like the design or content?

    Where does iWeb save designs?
    Users/usename/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain
    Move this file to the other machine to work on the site there.

  • I have a mid year 2007 24 inch iMac and will be purchasing a new 27 inch Retina iMac, what is the easiest way to transfer the data and files from my old machine to the new one?

    I have a mid year 2007 24 inch iMac and will be purchasing a new 27 inch Retina iMac, what is the easiest way to transfer the data and files from my old machine to the new one?

    Following up on this thread,
    I have a new iMac on the way and my current is from 2008, never had a problem but I am sure there are internal issues that I would prefer not to transfer.
    I have no issues other then the slowness in certain programs and that is the main reason to buy a new one.
    Programs like numbers and pages seem to take a longer time to open after I update to Yosemite.
    I only use 272GB of 500 GB, my memory is 4GB and I am upgrading to 8Gb and bought the 4.0 processor.
    Question:
    Is there a way to manually transfer items or would that be a waste of time in that if there are issues they could be anywhere and would transfer anyway?
