Dumping hex file into pic microcontroller via ICD3
I am able to dump hex files into pic microcontroller using command line utilities that come with MPLAB. But, whenever I have to dump a hex file, I need to go to the ICD3 programmer utility location (in MPLAB directory) and paste the hex file to be loaded there. I tried feeding the address of the hex file in System Exec vi along with other necessary commands but it is unable to track the hex file and displaying an error as "hex file not found"..Is there any way to implement above functionality?
(Sorry I didnt get any replies for this query so I am posting it as a new message)

I am using this for mass programming. Hence I am doing this using batch mode.
Can you help me out in this?
Kudos are always welcome if you got solution to some extent.

I have written a routine that loads a Hex file, checks for record marker,length,address etc then loads the data into a table on front panel. However, my routine only loads single record hex files. I need to be able to load multiple record files, I need to identify the ':' colon record marker start for each record in the hex file, I just can't see how to loop my routine so that all records with ':' prefix marker are loaded.
Jeff,
I'm not exactly sure of what you are trying to do. Is it possible you could post your code, or a screen shot of the diagram in question, so that I can get a better understanding, and possibly offer some assistance?
I am familiar with hex files, but not with the : marker separating records. This may be able to be solved with simple text parsing, and as I am not familiar with how you are retrieving and/or displaying the files, I require more information.

Insert sound file into Oracel DB via Forms 6i
Dear All
Pls let me know how to insert sound files in to Oracle DB via Forms 6i.

Lakmal Marasingeby the way - just for info : Sound-Items in Forms 6i can't be migrated to 10g. They are now obsolet.
So, the best way is to develop in 6i a solution based on java. Then you use it and communicate with it per java bean.

How to batch upload PDF files into database BLOB
Hello.
I have a requirement to batch upload PDF files into BLOB column of an Oracle 8.1.7 table from Forms 6i Web. The content of the blob column (ie. the PDF content) MUST be displayable from all client software (eg. Oracle Web forms, HTML forms, etc.)
Our environment is
Middle-tier is 9iAS on Windows/2000
Database is Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on VMS
Oracle Web Forms 6i Patch 10
Basically my Oracle web form program will display a list of PDF files to upload and then the user can click on the <Upload> button to do the batch upload. I have experimented the following approaches but with no luck.
1. READ_IMAGE_FILE forms built-in = does NOT work because it cannot read PDF file. I got error FRM-47100: Cannot read image file
2. OCX and OLE form item = cannot use this because it does NOT work on the Web. I got error FRM-41344 OLE object not defined
3. I cannot use DBMS_LOB to do the load because the PDF files are not in the database machine.
4. Metalink Note 1682771.1 (How to upload binary documents back to database blob column from forms). When I used this, I got ORA-6502 during the hextoraw conversion. In using this solution, I have downloaded a bin2hex.exe from the Google site. I've noticed that when I looked at the converted HEX file, each line has the character : (colon) at the beginning of each line. I know the PDF file has been converted correctly to HEX format because when I convert the HEX file back to BIN format using hex2bin.exe, I'm able to display the converted bin file in Acrobat Reader. When I removed the : (colon) in the HEX file, I did NOT get the ORA-6502 error but I CANNOT display the file in Acrobat Reader. It gives an error "corrupted file".
5. upload facility in PL/SQL Web toolkit - I tried to automatically submit the html form (with htp.p) but it does NOT load the contents of the file. I called the URL from Oracle forms using web.show_document. There seems to be issues with Oracle Web forms (JInitiator) and HTML (+ htp.p).
The other options I can think of at this point are:
1. Use SQL*Loader to do the batch upload via SQL*Net connection and use HOST() built-in from Oracle Webforms to execute SQL*Loader from the 9iAS.
2. Write a Visual Basic program that reads a binary file and output the contents of the file into a byte array. Then build a DLL that can be called from Oracle webforms 6i via ORA_FFI. I don't prefer this because it means the solution will only work for Windows.
3. Write a JSP program that streams the PDF file and insert the contents of the PDF file into blob column via JDBC. Call JSP from forms using web.show_document. With this I have to do another connection to the database when I load the file.
4. Maybe I can use dbms_lob by using network file system (NFS) between the application server and VMS. But this will be network resource hungry as far as I know because the network connection has to be kept open.
Please advise. Thank you.
Regards,
ArmandoI have downloaded a bin2hex.exe from the Google site.
... each line has the character : (colon) at the
beginning of each line. I'm afraid it isn't a correct utility. I hope you'll find the source code of a correct one at metalink forum:

There is some links to metalink notes and some example about working with BLOB at http://www.tigralen.spb.ru/oracle/blob/index.htm. Maybe it helps. Sorry for my English. If there is any problem with code provided there, let me know by e-mail. -
Uploading & Downloading Files into DMS Server using Web Dynpro Java
Hello Friends,
I want to Upload a file from Portal to Document Management Server and to Download a file from Document Management Server to Portal, In short, I want to give the user the facility to Upload a File into DMS Sever via Portal and also to download the file from DMS Sever via Portal.
Can anybody give me a Input for the same from Both Java Development End as well as ABAP End, more inputs are required from ABAP end, since i have a very less ABAP Experience on working with DMS. Few Questions i have in my mind?
1. How to actually access the file contents with the help of Document Number?
2. With the help of Doc-Number we can extract the file from DMS sever but to provide a option for downloading in portal, the RFC should convert the File Contents into X-String or is there some other way?
+3. While Uploading the Data should be given in Which format to RFC? Are there any limitation with respect to size or formats. Is there any Standard RFC i can use directly in WD4 Java application to upload the file into DMS Server and which will return me the Document Number? +
Please give me your valuable inputs.
Thank You.

Leading zeros when loading file into BPS
Hi all,
i'm trying to load a flat file into BPS cube via sap GUI according to the indication of the correspondent "How to paper".
As first column i have cost center (10 ch lenght). Usually in the File the leading zeros are not specified and in the paper it's specified to pay extra attention to those zeros.
So the question is:
HAVE i to include leading zeros in the file (for cost center)? Is it a mandatory task?
Thanks in advance.
FabioHi Anand,
Is it possible to load Excel or CSV file into BPS using the standard function module ?
If we use CSV format, then the leading zeros should be wiped out anyway.
I tried both format. None of them working. Is only TXT format allowed ?
Your help is much appreciated.

Can a labview VI can be converted into Hex file for dumping into Microcontroller
I want to know whether we can convert a LabVIEW VI into HEX file so that we can dump into microcontroller like 8051 or AVR or not.
If not is there any possibility that we can make a VI which can convert a LabVIEW VI into HEX file.Hi kpraveen,
you want to run a vi on a microcontroller?
Well, there is LV for FPGA and LV embedded. Both have their price... But I don't know which processors are supported - just look at the NI website!

Compile asm to hex file and send to microcontroller pic...
Hi,
I would like to know if is it possible on new labview8 to compile code asm to hex file and send the file to pic micro pic16f84??.
Actually, I did application on lv7.1 that modified the asm code and later call to System Exec.vi to use mspanwin to compile the file to hex file, and later call to icprog program to send the file hex to pic by serial port with programer JDM. It works but i would like the external program would be invisible to user. Therefore i would like to get all with labview, but i dont know if it is possible compile any language code programming to hex file to send pic, and if it possible send the hex file with labview algorithm on new version...
Can anyone advise me?. Thanks Fonsi.Hi,
There is Labview Embedded software to program microcontrollers (http://www.ni.com/labview/embedded) but this software is only for 32-bit processors so there is no way to do that for your pic controller (8 bits).
Unfortunatelly, I think the solution you have done (calling the other programs from labview) is the only one you can use right now.

I recently upgraded my old powerbook to an iMac. I've dumped the files of my backup drive into the new iMac. Is there a way to have access to/merge all the files (new and old computers) together so when I'm logged in can access all the files.
Thanks!
MSure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac. You should be able to set a password for it. Save it. Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer, I suppose, back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity. As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,
This handy article from Apple explains how
How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support''
don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine and go for it. You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups of your stuff. -
Uploading a file into DB error occured: ORA-01465: invalid hex number
While uploading a file into the DB, It is promting an error: "ORA-01465: invalid hex number"
how to convert a binary data to hex format in this case.Hello again,
Ok, to upload into the database through APEX, using the file browser, you need to do the following:
1. Create the file browser item on your page.
2. Create a page process that is executed on the SUBMIT button.
The code should be something like this:
IF ( :P1_FILE_NAME is not null ) THEN
INSERT INTO oehr_file_subject(id,NAME, SUBJECT, BLOB_CONTENT, MIME_TYPE)
SELECT ID,:P1_FILE_NAME,:P1_SUBJECT,blob_content,mime_type
FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
WHERE name = :P1_FILE_NAME;
DELETE from APEX_APPLICATION_FILES WHERE name = :P1_FILE_NAME;
END IF;{size:14}Files uploaded through the file browser are inserted into APEX_APPLICATION_FILES and need to be copied into your file.
Be sure to include a column in your table for the filename in {color:green}FILENAME.EXT{color} format so that the system will know how to handle the file when you try to download.

Importing English Wikipedia dump (large .xml file) into SQL server 2012
Hi there,
I've downloaded the latest English Wikipedia dump (enwiki-latest-pages-articles.xml),
and I'm trying to import it to SQL server 2012 by using XML Bulk Load. This is the VBScript
code I've used:
Dim objBL
Set objBL = CreateObject("SQLXMLBulkLoad.SQLXMLBulkload.4.0")
objBL.ConnectionString = "provider=SQLOLEDB;data source=localhost;database=tempdb;integrated security=SSPI"
objBL.ErrorLogFile = "error.log"
objBL.CheckConstraints=true
objBL.XMLFragment = True
objBL.SchemaGen = True
objBL.SGDropTables = True
objBL.Execute "export-0.8.xml", "enwiki-latest-pages-articles.xml"
Set objBL = Nothing
This VBScript should generate the tables and load the Wikipedia XML file into them. The VBScript code also uses the wikimedia
XSD schema. However, I'm getting this error:

Hi All,
I would like to ask how can imports my dump oracle database file data and struct into sql server 2005
with out make connection oracle.
best regards.
Hakim.Hi Hakim.
Based on your title, what I understood there is a issue regarding transfer oracle db dump to sql database using C# code. Am I right? If so, I am afraid there is no build-in method which meet your requrements in .NET framework. You must provides
OraDump Export API to allow developers integrate corresponding capabilities into their applications. These capabilities are about export data from Oracle dump files into popular databases like Microsoft SQL server. Every developer
having OraDump Export API can write just few lines of code on C# or Visual Basic to implement the appropriate export process.
I am search a third-party link, but it's a paid service.

If you don't have to with code, Please refer to: Migrating Oracle Databases to SQL Server 2000

Load image file into a LONG RAW column via SQL*Loader
Does anyone know how to load a image file into a LONG RAW column via SQL*Loader?
Thanks
-Hsing-Hua-Are you trying to import the image on the client into Oracle lite, or from the server end into the main oracle database for download to the client?
On our system images are loaded into the the oracle lite database (10g R1 at the moment) on the client (DELL X50 PDA's) into a BLOB (Not LONG RAW) column using Java (relatively standard functionality in Java) as this is what our application software is written in.
From the server end, we do not at the moment load images as such, but we do load the application software into the database for deployment of new versions to the clients (the DMC/DMS updates we have found very unreliable), and the technique should be the same for images. Again the file is imported into a BLOB column.
NOTE a column defined as BLOB on the main Oracle database appears as a LONG VARBINARY on the client Oracle lite database, but the synchronisation process handles the conversion with no problem.
To import into a BLOB column on the server try the following
1) you will need to create a DIRECTORY (CREATE DIRECTORY command) within the database, pointing at a directory on the database server (or accessible from it). This is needed for the file location.
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY PDA_FILE_UPLOAD AS '/pdaapps/jar/'
NOTE create directory needs to be run as SYSTEM
2) define your table to hold the image and other data. Our tables is
SQL> desc pda_applications
Name Null? Type
ID NOT NULL NUMBER(12)
PDAAT_CODE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
VERSION NOT NULL NUMBER(5,2)
PART_NO NOT NULL NUMBER(3)
FILE_OBJECT BLOB
DEPLOY_APPLICATION_YN NOT NULL VARCHAR2(1)
3) copy the image (or in our case a .jar file) to the database server directory specified in step 1
4) the actual import is done using a DBMB_LOB procedure
PROCEDURE pr_load_file
