DV + resize = errors

Hi Folks,
Some colleagues and I have done a lot of encoding (for
capture only, not streaming) using FME2.5.0.2086 from DV (PAL) and
resizing to 640x480 (mostly to get correct 4:3 aspect ratio). All
seemed well for testing, but a some point later when watching the
files back, we noticed some sections intermittently just seemed to
drop frames or speed through a few frames (audio jumped or
"clicked" as well).
There were no dropped frames reported during capture, but it
was noted that the framerate dipped on occasions.
Examining metadata indicates two different framerates, 25fps
and approx 21.97fps.
CPU (Intel Core 2 T2700 @ 2GHz + 2GB RAM) sat at around 60%
for all captures.
The error was noticed when a random sample was played back in
a variety of players - in this sample there were significant
instances of the error. When we examined our test files, knowing
what to look for, we did see subtle instances of same error -
honestly all 4 of us didn't notice them during testing.
We've got about 30 hours of captured material which now
appears useless. While we must take responsibility for not
discovering it earlier, I am really @&*%! that there is no
indicator of any errors by the encoder. The framerate adption
looked like a function of the VP6 codec (as you can select of 5
quality settings). It appears that the whole lot has to be redone.
Does anyone know if the framerate adaption can be corrected,
or are the frames really dropped, even though the encoder said that
it dropped none?
I'd really appreciate any help on this as the redo will take
a very long time.
Thx in advance.

Whoops, sorry - stream is 800 kbps using VP6, quality good +
good, cpu dedicated...

  • Undo tablespace resize error

    Total space occupied by UNDO tablespace is : 3G and used space for UNDO tablespace is only 512M , so approx 2.5G space is free. But when i tried to resize the undo tablespace to 1G then its showing the below error :
    ORA-03297: file contains used data beyond requested RESIZE value
    but the used data size is 512M only.
    Kindly help me to resize the undo tablespace to 1G.
    Database : Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.2.0 - 64bi
    Kindly suggest.
    Advance thanks !!

    you can't resize undo tablespace. If you are trying to reduce the size.
    then add a unod tablespace may like undotbs2 then set undotbs2 as default to your database. then drop the prvious undo tablespace

    I have a problem with my Indesign CS 5.5 because when I try to resize a group of elements (either when they are grouped or they are simply selected all toghether) I get the error "the specified value is not a valid dimension".
    Maybe someone else have the same problem and knows how to solve it?

    First are you patched to 7.5.2?
    Can you post a screen shot of the page withthe objects selected and the control strip showing, along with the error message? Before and after might help.

  • Cannot resize system partition due to recovery partition

    Hello.
    I have a 500GB HD (momentus XT) that replaced my default 320GB HD.
    i cannot resize the system partition due to the recovery partition. System keeps on telling me that "map is too small".
    Tried diskutil under osx, under lion bootable recovery usb stick, under diskutil through console.
    Here is what diskutil tells me.

    Error: -5341: MediaKit reports partition (map) too small
    I want to resize the partition to use the remaining new space i have, of course, and create a bootcamp part.
    I am wondering if i can kill the recovery partition without destroying my lion. As i have the recovery transfered successfully to usb stick using the apple utility, i am able to use it anytime.
    But... just wondering if that would crash my OS or not.
    Or, if anyone sees a way to move the recovery partition to end of the HD so that i can enlarge successfully...

    Thanks to you both, luckily there's only 600GB on that drive at the moment.
    I was wondering, though, why won't it let me make it bigger?
    I already had a 1TB partition in the space below it. The screenshot shows me having already deleted it - but still no option to resize the other (larger) 2TB one.
    If there is a reason why I can't resize now, then I can take that advice and try and make sure it doesn't happen when I reformat it again.
    I would understand if the partition were MBR, but it's not, it's a GUID Partition Table (bottom right), so I'm confused - what is it's problem? ;-)

  • Small Basic bugs: Graphics Window errors

    I apologise that this is in the wrong category, I could not find one that fit the subject.
    I have found several bugs in the Small Basic Graphics Window handling, such as unintended application termination and resizing errors while hidden. Here is some code including most of them:
    GraphicsWindow.Hide()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Showing GW","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Show()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Hiding GW","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Hide()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Resizing GW to 800*600","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Width=800
    GraphicsWindow.Height=600
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Showing GW","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Show()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Resizing GW to current size","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Width=GraphicsWindow.Width
    GraphicsWindow.Height=GraphicsWindow.Height
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Resizing GW to 800*600","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Width=800
    GraphicsWindow.Height=600
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    On a Windows 7 machine there are the following bugs, which either seem not to apply in Windows 8.1 or do not appear with this code:
    When the Enter key is pressed on a GW message without the GW showing, the program ends, whereas when the button is clicked, the program continues as expected.
    When the GW is hidden, it does not resize properly in certain scenarios and the Height and Width properties stop returning meaningful values if set to a value.
    These errors can cause unwanted behaviour and could well break a program. Could somebody verify these please.

    Congrats to Nonki and ME!!!! =^)

  • I am trying to resize disk space on parallels 6 for windows XP under configure Hardrive and I get the error resizing failed unable to resize last volume the file system of this volume might be damaged or not supported?  I am on a Mac using Parallels 6

    I have been trying to increase my disk space for windows xp on my Imac and I am running parallels 6.  before opening windows I go into configure in parallels and open the hard drive and try to move the allotted disk space from 32 gig to 64 or any other increased gig and then apply and I get the error message: resizing failed unable to resize last volume.  The file system of this volume might be damaged or not supported.  How do I increase the size??  I just also did a disk repair utility with Apple on the Apple side of my IMAC.  Please Help!!   I had uninstalled SQL server on the windows side and needed to uncompress files to install this and then I ran short on disk space.

    This sounds to me that your Parallels XP file system is corrupted and not the OSX file system.
    Have you checked the XP file system while running the Parallels XP yet ?
    However, it would be better to ask such question in the Parallels Forum http://forum.parallels.com/

  • Error in opening datafile after use of DATAFILE RESIZE command

    Hi Friends,
    I am facing a strange problem here. We got a space problem yesterday ORA-01659: unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 42 in tablespace and I increased the underlying datafiles using resize command. The datafiles were 1G earlier and I have increased them to 2G using the command

  • Dreamweaver CC has "internal error... while resizing a view" when asked to creat a fluid grid layout

    Excited for expanded fluid grid layout features it had, I got Dreamweaver Creative Cloud SPECIFICALLY for that feature.
    Sign up, download, install went smoothly. Open Dreamweaver CC, create new fluid grid layout, hit OK, name and desigante location of .css file and get the following error.
    "An internal error occurred while resizing a view. (Cview::ResizeFrameBy)"  OK
    I click OK and nothing happens. App freezes. No css, no files. No nothing.
    Have tried restarting, re-installing, different names and destinations for .css file. I'm running Mac 10.8.2
    Literally, this is the first thing I've done w/ an ACC app and I am displeased and frustrated. Getting customer service either via forum or offshore phone call less than ideal.
    (apologies for spelling error in subj. can't edit it)

    Can you try the steps mentioned on the thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5420680
    Verified Fix :
    For all the Dreamweaver crashes on opening Fluid Grid pages , Closing Documents or opening files
    Please make sure the default system fonts are all enabled - especially Verdana
    On MAC -
    Open Font BOOK from Applications
    Activate VERDANA FAmily of Fonts

  • Error message while resizing a file

    Could not complete the Image Size command because of a program error.
    I find this particularly frustrating since this begun after completing several files successfully.  Happens in PS 2014 CC and the previous version. Both are up to date. This machine is dedicated almost completely to PS so not sure why suddenly I am getting this error.
    Any help in resolving this quickly would be appreciated since I can not complete my work without resizing capabilities.
    Thanks

    Pardon me for not being more detailed . After going through all hardware possibilities I decided to reexamine the new batch of client files. In a masked out folder deep in the layering there was an un-needed smart object created as a .drc file. This was the cause. after removing this from all the newest documents they all now resize properly.
    Thanks and I will provide more info if anything else comes up

  • In Adobe Acrobat X Standard, our user used to be able to resize drawings to 8.5 x 10, it stopped working yesterday. It allows her to do this without an error but the size does not change?

    Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

  • Can´t open my osx system due to an error after resizing my bootcamp partition

    Well, i recently installed windows 7 in my mac with the bootcamp, after that i realized that 100 gb (the space i used for the new partition) was not enough, then i searched for a way to rezise my windows drive, i first resized the mac disk so i could upgrade the windows with more space and found Mini-Tool Partition Wizard (third party) to do that. Did the procedure and after restarting the pc it reopened on windows but with this error http://i.imgur.com/TW05ZZw.jpg, meanwhile i tried to "enter" or "esc" but my keyboard didnt work. All i want is a way to get to my osx system so i can erase windows 7 and install it again setting the space that i want in the process.

    This brings up the Recovery Console. Do not make any changes, but can you post the output (using Terminal) of
    diskutil list
    diskutil cs list
    You can use the Safari available in the Recovery Console to post information here.
    From Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions
    How can a Windows partition be resized after Windows is installed?
    You need to delete the Windows partition using the Boot Camp Assistant, and start over to change the size of the Windows partition. Back up your important Windows files first.
