DVR670KU Turns off By Itself - Won't Stay On or Play Anything

I purchased the DVR670KU in August and just tried playing a VHS tape in it today. As soon as I put the tape in the unit turned off. Now when I try and turn it back on to play the vhs, to switch to dvd and play a dvd or to just use the tuner and watch a TV channel the unit powers off almost as soon as it turns on. Any ideas about what is going on? I've power cycled the dvdr/vhs unit, tried several times to play a dvd or eject/play the vhs all without success.
Please help!

I have a Toshiba DVR670KU.  When a VHS tape is inserted everything functions normally but only for about 5 seconds.  The tape goes in, plays for a few seconds, stops, and then the DVR670KU shuts off.  When the unit is turn back on the tape ejects.
I like the unit and want to repair it.  I suspect that the problem is a simple one and would like tech notes on how to fix it.
I removed the cover and visually inspected as the tape was inserted.  There appears to be an IR LED and IR sensor that trigger some mechanical functions.  The problem appears to be that the mechanics that are triggered by the IR sensor are not holding.

  • IPhone suddenly turn off by itself, won't come back on

My iPhone suddenly turned off when i wanted to unlock it to check my messages(i'm really sure that it has 80%+ battery during that time),here's what i did to get it turn back on,but it still wont on:
    1) I plug it to my pc (but my pc says it's an unknown device and it also says that Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems)
2)i hold on to the home button and the standby button
    3) i charged it
I tried all these steps above but it still wont come back on,please help me,i cant live without my phone!

How long has it been off?  I have over-heated mine before a few times... (hot car, heating pad...) and it shuts down completely and will NOT come back on until it cools down.  I'm not saying this is your problem, but if it did over-heat it will come back on when it cools down.

  • My phone turned off by itself and won't turn back on.

My phone turned off by itself and now it will not turn back on. I have tried both a soft and a hard restart and the only thing I get is the Dual Core Technology logo and it just stays on. I tried to do restart in regular and recovery mode and neither works. Is there a way to restart it without going back to factory settings????

I'm sorry your phone won't turn on jessesealey! I'm sure this is beyond frustrating. Do you know what function was used just before powering off? (text, email, internet, etc.) Has the phone been dropped or wet at all? Even steam/mist? I know a Hard Reset is an inconvenience, so you can try charging for 3-4 hours and try powering back on. If that still doesn't work, a Hard Reset is what will need to be done. http://vz.to/Yg68Th

  • My iPhone 4s won't turn on, it turned off by itself now it says plug into iTunes? I don't have a computer is this something I can have fixed at the store?

My iPhone turned off by itself and says to plug into iTunes and won't turn on. Is this something I can have fixed at te store?  I don't have a computer with iTunes..

You should be able to restore the iPhone, just connect it to the computer and open iTunes.
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and take a look at this, if you run in to a problem.

  • I have a new MacBook Air which keeps turning off by itself and now won't turn on at all...

It's been working fine since I've had it but yesterday it kept turning off by itself and then within minutes off turning it back on it would do it again. Also the little box kept popping up asking if I wanted to sleep, restart etc as if I had pressed the power button. I tried to turn it off completely and now it won't turn back on at all. If I plug the charger in the green light comes on but nothing happens on the actual MacBook itself. What do i do ?

  • TS2570 when i turn on my computer it stays on the grey screen and then turns off by itself. How can I fix that?

when i turn on my computer it stays on the grey screen and then turns off by itself. How can I fix that?

Hi , and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Hold alt or option key at bootup, do asny boot choices show up?

  • Airport turns off by itself and won't turn on back again!!!

hey there, i am currently facing an issue with the airport as by it is turnning off by itself and i cant turn it back on .. i have to restart !!!
sometimes when i turn on my mac like just now happened it is off and can;t be turned on.
please if anyone can help i would really appreciate it
    thank you very much

Hey, in case you haven't been able to find a solution to your original problem with airport turning off, i seem to have found the solution for my MacBook Pro. I called Apple Care and they had me to shut down my computer. Then, while holding down the four keys: command, option, R and P, push the power button to turn on the computer. Do not let up on the four keys until the start up chime has sounded twice. Then let up on the four keys and the OS will boot up as usual. They said what that does is reset your "sleep" parameters on your computer. This seemed to have solved my problem.

  • My iPod touch 4th generation turns off by itself. How can I fix this?

My iPod Touch 4th generation turns off my itself. How can I fix this? This is not the first time this has happened. I usually hold down the home button and the power button at the same time for a few seconds and it'll turn back on but this time that won't work. What should I do?

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart..  Reset..  Restore from Backup..  Restore as New...
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...
If that does not help... See Here:

  • Iphone 3Gs turns off by itself.

I have an iphone 3Gs. It recently started turning off by itself. I could be listening to music, making a call, on the interenet, or whatever. It turns off with the charger in or out. Most of the time it turns back on right after. Sometimes i will have to maually turn it on. It takes almost 3 minutes to turn back on. Then it will stay on from anywhere between 3 and 30 minutes before it turns back off. It also turns off sometimes when it is shook. Thats only somethimes though. I really need a way to fix this. Please if anyone has any ideas, post them here. Thank you

I'm having the EXACT same problem--and it's been recent--it never used to do this! I'm usually out running with iTunes and RunKeeper both running, and...it just shuts off. But usually when I try and restart it, nothing happens, though a few times it will restart and then shut down again.Once it happens my run is shot.
Wouldn't surprise me to learn that this is from a recent IOS patch...maybe to force us to upgrade...wouldn't be the first time that a company has done something like this, and Apple releasing IOS 6 with Apple Maps just goes to show that Apple has some real shortcomings since Steve died.

  • Stratosphere turns off by itself

My Stratosphere keeps turning off by itself.  Sometimes it is random, and sometimes when I close the keyboard.
This is my third stratosphere, and I keep getting power issues.
What is the answer...is it the battery, the phone, or what?

        Good morning Compliance-
I can see this getting quite frustrating, quite quickly. When the device turns off, does it stay off or can you power it on right away like normal? If its happened with multiple devices, its could be caused by a corrupt application, or more likely a bad battery. Has the battery ever been replaced? I look forward to your reply.
