    Publish as Animate Deployment Package (.oam)
    Select this export option to create a package file of your project for use in other Adobe tools. The following tools support Animate Deployment Packages: Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), InDesign CS6, Dreamweaver CS6, and Muse.
    Select File > Publish Settings.
    In the Publish Settings dialog box, make sure Animate Deployment Package is selected as the publish target.
    Note or change the target directory.
    (Optional) Specify a poster image.
    Click Save to save the publish settings, or click Publish.
    You can then place the .oam into dreamweaver

  • CS3: How to generate PDF from multiple HTML files using CSS?

    I have a set of static HTML files. They are nicely formatted using a single style sheet. They interlink. I would like a way to generate a single PDF file from that set of HTML files that preserves the links (of course, they would all link within the single generated PDF because they would not longer be separate files as a PDF). I would also like to preserve the formatting from the CSS so it doesn't look generic. I own CS3 but don't know which tool to use for this, if any. Which tool would I use for this?

  • DW CS3: Template & CSS Rules problems

    Dreamweaver CS3 Templates and CSS Rules.
    I've built a basic html page with a header, navigation links and main content area, then saved this as a template with the content area as the edit region.
    When I create new html pages from this template I want to insert Divs in the edit region for each new page, which I can successfully do, but for some reason Dreamweaver is not allowing me to create new CSS Rules for each new Div? So I'm not able to control position, text layout, colours etc for the new content. So my question is how do I do this?
    I got around this with the current website by creating the template with virtually all of the content for the entire website firstly, then deleting as necessary for each page, which I know is the wrong way to build html site pages from a template!
    I wonder if someone could please point me in the right direction to get me back on track? Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, there is a meta tag at the start of the CSS rules. Here's a copy and paste of the code generated in DW CS3. Template was created from a html doc...

  • DW CS3 cross-platform check in/out file locking

    Here is my setup:
    * Apple X-Serve file server (as a mapped drive on several
    Windows XPsp2
    machines and a shared drive on one Mac 10.4)
    * Up-to-date Dreamweaver CS3 on every machine (3 windows, 1
    mac)
    * Enable file check in and check out (site preference for all
    installations)
    * Contribute compatibility (site preference for all
    installations)
    The problem is that when a file is checked in on the mac, the
    file becomes
    locked such that the windows machines can't check out the
    file. All of the
    windows machines check out and check in files with no problem
    if the mac hasn't
    touched them. Once the mac has checked in a file, I have to
    "unlock" the file
    via the right-click context menu on the file. (This unlock is
    called "Turn off
    Read Only" on the windows version.)
    Windows FTP Log on check out after mac check in:
    /.../public_html/help/faq.php - locked
    /.../public_html/help/faq.php - error occurred - An FTP error
    occurred -
    cannot get faq.php.
    /.../public_html/help/faq.php - unlocked
    Apparently the Mac DW CS3 version of "Check in" and the
    Windows DW CS3 version
    of "Check in" are different and incompatible. Has anyone else
    had this problem
    or know of a solution? Removing the Mac is not an option.
    This may or may not be related, but whenever a file is opened
    on the operating
    system other than last edited (mac opens windows edited file
    or windows opens
    mac edited file), the "Overwrite local copy" dialog shows up
    when checking out
    a file. When a compare is made of the server/local files,
    there are no changes.
    Both mac and windows have the same line ending settings in
    the preferences.

    I'm having exactly the same issue. Has anyone experienced
    this before, and if so have a solution?
    Thanks in advance!

    In your Site definition, you need to specify the Remote Info
    of your
    server, and then "Enable file checkin and checkout".

    Where? Surely you are misinterpreting that - it has Spry

    but a much better choice even than those exists.

  • CS3 IndexFromList.jsx  with a twist

    I'd like to thank Martin Fischer for rewriting the IndexFromList.jsx script for CS3: http://www.hilfdirselbst.ch/foren/Skript_zum_Index_generieren_P322824.html#322824
    It takes a list of index entries and indexes every occurence of the topics in the list. Usually the authors of the books I typeset have created such a topic list, so the script really speeds up the proces of finding the page references.
    The list drawn up by the authors needs tweaking, as they don't take into account the way Indesign's indexing deals with case, whole word and proper names.
    This is an example of what a portion of the concordance list could look like before and after tweaking:
    postmodernism
    postmodern
    postmodernism
    postmodernist
    postmodernists
    postmodernity
    In the final index these topics are grouped into the 'postmodernism' entry. But that leaves a lot of manual work changing the index topics of the similar terms. An added step to the script could perform this automatically, if you change the concordance list into a two column list. The right column indicates which terms should be grouped:
    postmodern | postmodernism
    postmodernism | postmodernism
    postmodernist | postmodernism
    postmodernists | postmodernism
    postmodernity | postmodernism
    So instead of adding (oneWord) the script would add the term in the second column:
    // Hinzufügen des Themas
    myDoc.indexes[0].topics.add(oneWord);
    Or is this too complicated a way to address the problem?

    Hi Gaphic,
    here's a new version of the script: http://www.hilfdirselbst.ch/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=343938#343938
    // IndexFromList_withOneSubtopic_CS3.jsx
    //DESCRIPTION: Erzeugt Indexeinträge anhand einer externen Konkordanzdatei, die über einen Dialog ausgewählt wird.
    var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var myList = File.openDialog ("Liste mit Indexbegriffen");
    if (!myList) exit();
    clearFindChangeSettings();
    app.findChangeTextOptions.wholeWord = true;
    app.findChangeTextOptions.caseSensitive = true;
    app.findChangeTextOptions.includeFootnotes = true;
    var myEntries = getWords(myList);
    proceedWithList(myEntries);
    alert("Erledigt!");
    // Konkordanzliste einlesen
    function getWords (aFile) {
    if (aFile.exists) {
      aFile.open ('r', undefined, undefined);
      var aText = aFile.read()+'\n';
      // löschen von Leerzeichen am Ende der Zeile + löschen von leeren Zeilen
      aText = aText.replace(/ +\n/g, '\n').replace(/\n+/g, '\n');
      // ersetzen von mehrfach aufeinander folgende Leerzeichen aller Art durch ein Leerzeichen
      aText = aText.replace(/ {2,}/g, ' ');
      var words = aText.split('\n');
      var myPairs = getPairs( words );
      aFile.close();
      return myPairs;
    else {
      exit();
    function getPairs( w )
    var thePairs = new Array;
    for (i = 0; i < w.length; i++ )
      thePairs.push( w[i].split(' | ') );
    return thePairs;
    // Begriffsliste abarbeiten
    function proceedWithList (w) {
    // bei Bedarf wird ein neuer Index erzeugt
    if (myDoc.indexes.length == 0)
      myDoc.indexes.add();
    for (var i = 0; i < w.length; i++)
      if (w[i] != "")
       makeEntry(w[i]);
    // Aktualisieurng des Index
    myDoc.indexes[0].update();
    // Indexeintrag erzeugen
    function makeEntry(oneEntry) {
    if ( oneEntry.length == 1 )
      app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = oneEntry[0];
    else
      app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = oneEntry[1];
    var myResult = myDoc.findText();
    for (var i = myResult.length-1; i >=0; i--) {
      // Fehler abfangen, z.B. Fußnoten ausnehmen
      try {
       // Hinzufügen des Themas
       myDoc.indexes[0].topics.add(oneEntry[0]);
       // Hinzufügen der Referenz
       if ( oneEntry.length == 1 )
        myDoc.indexes[0].topics.item(myResult[i].contents).pageReferences.add(myResult[i], PageReferenceType.currentPage);
       else
        //myDoc.indexes[0].topics.add( oneEntry[0]);
        myDoc.indexes[0].topics.item( oneEntry[0] ).topics.add( oneEntry[1]);
        myDoc.indexes[0].topics.item( oneEntry[0] ).topics.item( myResult[i].contents ).pageReferences.add(myResult[i], PageReferenceType.currentPage);
      catch(e) {}
    //Clear any existing find/change settings.
    function clearFindChangeSettings()
    app.findTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    app.changeTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
    This version supports one topic and one topic with one subtopic.
    The list should look like this:
    topic 1
    topic 2 | subtopic 1
    topic 2 | subtopic 2
    topic 2 | subtopic 3
    You can manage multiple indexes (names, places, subjects) like this:
    names | Kafka
    names | Peirce
    names | Williams
    places | Berlin
    places | Munich
    subjects | health
    subjects | sunshine
    Maybe some day there will be a version which manages more than one subtopic.
    regards
    Martin Fischer

  • Getting CS3 to recognize new file types

    I'm trying to get Dreamweaver CS3 to recognize, and use the
    proper HTML editor on pages with a *.master extension. This is an
    ASP.NET 2.0 master page file, and they generally contain a ton of
    HTML.
    I can't believe that this wasn't set up by default ;)

  • Fehler bei Wiederinstallation. Kann mir vielleicht jemand helfen?

    Hallo

  • Missing Software Code

    I'm not able to install CS5 Update version on new PC.
    Available are SWCode and Activation Code for Phototoshop 7.
    From CS3 only the activvation Code is stil avalable, Software had been stored  on the former PC now no more available.
    From CS5 both, SW and activation Code are available.
    How can I install CS5 on the new system.
    Thank you

  • Have a problem with Preview in CS5

    Hi,
    I recently upgraded from dreamweaver CS3 to CS5.
    In version CS3 when having made any changes to html code and/or (external) CSS files and/or (external) JS files these changes were automatically 'saved' when selection Preview to see the changes in my browser on my local testing machine. Upon selecting Preview Dreamweaver asks  only once "The file xxx.css has been modified. Do you wish to save the file before putting?" Options Yes, Yes to all, No, No to all.
    After selection Yes or yes to all,  any changes I made in a file, wether it is HTML code of CSS files, can directly be viewed in my browser by selecting Preview.
    In dreamweaver CS5 however I have to manually save each file I've made changes in. In some webpages I do have 5 or 6 external CSS files attached and several js files. When I make modifications to the webpage and CSS files I do have to save each seperate CSS file, then select Preview AND refresh the browser to see the modifications I made.
    I made shure all settings I have in CS3 are the same in CS5, but maybe I'm missing something.
    This is absolutly not the way I want to work. Any one else having the same problem? Any solutions?
    If this is how CS5 uses Preview I do have to 'Upgrade' again to CS3 !
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Bob,
    I've exactly the same site-options.
    Problem still remains. Adobe looked into it and told me that the function I described no longers exists in CS5.
    I referred to your respons and screen shots, and now there are looking into it again.
    I hope they come up with a solution because the 'problem' is bigger than I thought at first.
    In CS3, and I suppose it is the same in your CS5, I had to just once click on Yes to all, al during the complete session
    of working on that particular page, I could keep on using preview without getting the prompt.
    Now I have to save manually the files eacht time I use preview. And that is > 100 times a day. Not happy I am.

  • Can No Longer Open html files

    I Fireworks 8, I was able to save a web page as a complete
    document to the local drive and then open it with Fireworks to work
    with it. With CS3 all I get is a totally white canvas. I have
    checked that my preferences are all set the same, and they are. I
    use this feature all the time for a variety of functions, i.e.,
    combining slices to make one gif, etc. Am I missing something - or
    is that function no longer there?
    It shows it can open Html files, but it will not even open
    it's own exported html files. Get "internal error." The file is
    fine ( and it just created it.)

    No, it is not a bug at all. It is all about how you do this
    and understand the primary functionality of Fw itself, and how it
    do for you. If you don't fully understand how it works, then you
    have problem trying to understand how it works and what's not.
    Then, perhaps that you clearly do not understand the
    functionality of Fw CS3, and how it relates to exported HTML files
    created by Fw CS3.
    It is very common, wide misunderstanding among other,
    especially with newbies using Fw app, and they thought that if Fw
    could create HTML code. Actually, it was created by side of
    pre-scripted coding inside the app itself, and that it does the
    rest for you.
    As for working with sliced images around Fw CS3, as any
    legacy versions of Fw, the concept of sliced images is often up for
    the air and debates. Everyone have different opinion about sliced
    images, and what not and what's cool.
    I personally dislike sliced images. If having lots of sliced
    images, means slower downloading time and more codes involved.
    I get the feeling that you really not understand how Fw
    works, and how it relates to your question about HTML code in Fw.
    Please try to understand that FW itself CANNOT edit HTML. It only
    just exports html code for you. However, it is important to note,
    it is NOT perfect html code.
    It is best IF you work with pre-scripted HTML code in
    Dreamweaver, or any web authoring app to work with HTML directly.
    If you are not taking my advice, so be it. I am out of this
    discussion. End of discussion!
    And good luck!

    The reasons for opening an html file in Fireworks have
    nothing to do with Dreamweaver or coding, just images and image
    manipulation. If open html is an option, as it is, it should open
    the file. It used to open with all slices intact, and all html code
    behind it. Now it just opens a white page.
    It is a bug and problem since it does not do as it should.

    Hi i am using Dreamweaver CS3, i am creating more than 100 HTML files every couple of days and need to use the regular Expressions Feature in the Find and Replace box but couldn't find or generate the expression i am looking For, i want to Replace every images name to be same as it's htm file name across all htm Files.
    Ex : cieg.htm
    <tr>
        <td colspan="2"><table id="Table_04" width="850" height="88" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
            <tr>
              <td><img src="Viva/XXXthefilenameXXX_38.gif" width="213" height="88"></td>
              <td><img src="Viva/XXXthefilenameXXX_39.gif" width="212" height="88"></td>
              <td><img src="Viva/XXXthefilenameXXX_40.gif" width="213" height="88"></td>
              <td><img src="Viva/XXXthefilenameXXX_41.gif" width="212" height="88"></td>
            </tr>
          </table></td>
      </tr>
    and replace it to be:
    <tr>
        <td colspan="2"><table id="Table_04" width="850" height="88" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
            <tr>
              <td><img src="Viva/cieg_38.gif" width="213" height="88"></td>
              <td><img src="Viva/cieg_39.gif" width="212" height="88"></td>
              <td><img src="Viva/cieg_40.gif" width="213" height="88"></td>
              <td><img src="Viva/cieg_41.gif" width="212" height="88"></td>
            </tr>
          </table></td>
      </tr>
    and same as another htm file named zsac.htm
    Any one knows a way to do it???
    Regards

    You will not see sql with asp when using view source and the
    like. The
    server executes the query and send the results. You need to
    have
    access to the source documents.

  • Serial number not working, not disk doesn't work (mac copy)

    I've just brought a new Mac Mini installed my Photoshop CS3 onto it. When I opened the application my serial number wouldn't work because I've used it too many times. My last computer crashed, so I can't take Photoshop off it. I followed a tutorial which had two options:
    1. reset the clock on your computer uninstall and re-install.
    2. delete the following folders in /Library/Application Support/Adobe: Adobe PCD, backup and caps. And re-install
    Now when I try to install Photoshop CS3 it doesn't even install! There is a cross instead of a tick next to everything. I've tried repair disk in Disk Utilities, and I was told that there was nothing wrong with the CD.
    Is there a way to fix this?

    Now you are not even able to install the software and gettingthe red cross as soon as enter your serial number.
    hence follow this step:-
    1)  Run the cleaner tool for CS3 , www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    2) delete the files ;- /Library/Application Support/Adobe: Adobe PCD, backup and caps
    3) Re-install the software ,
    let us know if the software gets installed ,
