  • Image with transparent background changes surrounding fill color when PMS...

    Hello.
    I have a .PSD image I'm using in InDesign CS3. It's a greyscale image with a transparent background. When I bring it into InDesign and set the background color of the image box to a Pantone and then print it, the PMS color within the area of the .PSD image size changes color compared to the rest of the page. But, when the same document is printed, but with "All Spot to Process" via the Ink Manager, the page prints fine. I get the same results on a number of different Canon and Xerox proofing printers. I have uploaded a PDF to my web server showing an example of the results I'm getting the PDF can be found here:
    http://theboyk.net/temp/PMSvsCMYK.pdf
    The first page is the document printed normally. You can see the color change in the green (Pantone Green). The second page is the same document printed with "All Spot to Process" via Ink Manager.
    Does anyone know why this happens when I leave it as printing a spot color?
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

    I totally forgot to put that in my post.  Yes, I am putting logos with transparent backgrounds in front of colored rectangles.  That's how I noticed that this one logo is showing up with a white background.  The weird thing is that the other two logos are fine.  I did find a different version of this logo and this one works fine.  The one that works fine is a JPG and the one that shows up with a white background is a JPG.

Idon't need the text which couldn'be seen.

  • How to Create Excel File in Background processing with different colors

    HI All

    Initially i completed above requirement by using HTML type of document with attachment type 'ALI'  & formatted output using write statement & used colors, after that i took this o/p using save_list function module & then table compress...etc.
    but i don't know how to achieve same if we need o/p in excel as size of object of excel file is less than that of HTML

  • Background image instead of color for each sliding panel

    I'm working with sliding panels and trying to add some style to the page.  I have figured out how to put a different background color on each slide and even how to put a background image on the whole thing, but  I cannot figure out how to use multiple images (one for each pannel). When I put the images in place of the colors it works fine in the Dreamweaver screen but totally disapears in a web browser.  Here is the url:    http://www.centerofdiscovery.com/the_center_of_discovery_home_page.html
    any help would be great!

    Regarding getting the tabs to sit on top of the content panel, speaking generally here, make the containing div for both the tabs and the content panel to have a margin: 0 auto; setting.This is for horizontal alignment.
    The blue rectangle can be belayed by setting border: none; on the specific rule that applies to the "a" links within that container. It is an indication that there is a link there.
    Please rename the images that have word-spaces in their file names. Some browsers react badly to word-spaces.
    I see that you have
    <p>
      </p><div class="slidingpanelandtab">
        <blockquote>
          <p><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(0); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" class="oneColFixCtrHdr" src="Images/panneltab.jpg"/></a><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(1); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" src="Images/panneltabb.jpg"/></a><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(2); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" src="Images/panneltaba.jpg"/></a><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(3); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" src="Images/panneltabc.jpg"/></a></p>
        </blockquote>
    Which sets off your "slidingpanelandtab" class div with an empty paragraph space <p></p> and then sets off the next section not only with <p></p> paragraph spacing but also with a <blockquote></blockquote>, which will by all rights indent that element.
    I suggest that you get rid of the spurious paragraph tags and the blockquote; that should tighten up your spacing.

  • Background image instead of color

    Hi, I have a Flex 4 application with this code:
    <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                   xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                   xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
                   backgroundColor="#000000"
                   applicationComplete="appComp()"
                   width="1600" height="900"
    public function appComp():void{
        stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL;
        stage.align = StageAlign.TOP;
        //stage.align = StageAlign.LEFT;
    NOTE: In the index.template.html I have change all width and heights from the default "${width}" and "${height}" to "100%"
    The documentation says of SHOW_ALL : "Borders can appear on two sides of the application."
    I can change the color of these borders with backgroundColor in Application tag, but....   How can I put an image (or swf) instead of these Borders?
    THANKS.
    Raúl.

    Hi There,
    In my knowledge, there are two ways to do that.
    1) Create a skin for your application(I guess this option is only for advanced users) and choose the background colour there
    2) A trick which I found is take a border container and use a background image for this border container.
    e.g.:-
    <s:BorderContainer
      width="100%" height="100%" x="0" y="2" backgroundImage="@Embed(source='assets/images/nameofimage.jpg')">
    //other components
    </s:BorderContainer>

  • Background graphic instead of color supported in menu  widgets?

    Hi, I am trying out spry in DM3, pretty cool so far, but as
    far as design goes, it seems limited. for example, can u somehow
    make the menu tabs graphical? I see you can change color, but how
    do you instead use a gif/jpg? And can the a tab be transparent?

  • Putting logo letters on screen without background or edges of color

    Hi,
    I'm trying to put a logo on the bottom of the screen of a video and I'm having some trouble. The logo is a pdf file of a white rectangle with words on it. The people in charge want the words to only be on the screen without the large white rectangle surrounding it. I was able by accident to get rid of the rectangle, however the edges of the dark blue letters and the light blue letters had edges of white on them. They want it basically like I stamped the letters on the bottom of the screen. I don't know how I got rid of the rectangle, it involved the dropper icon from the color option on the Filters tab of the viewer but I was left with white edges on the words. I want to know how to make the white rectangle background transparent. I'd also like to know how I can make the white edges on my blue letter either go away or how I can possibly color them so they are the color of the letters. Please help me if you can.

    Hi -
    Do you have an image editing program like Photoshop?
    If not -
    Remove any filters you have applied to the clip of the graphic in the timeline by Control - Clicking on the clip and selecting Remove Attributes from the drop down menu. In the window that open click on Filters and click OK.
    Now go to the Effects Tab and select Key > Luma Key, and drag that effect to the clip of the graphic on the timeline.
    Double click on the clip that now has the Luma Key filter applied, and in the Viewer click on the Filters Tab. Make sure the Key Mode is set to "Key Out Brighter".
    You can adjust the clipping of the letters by adjusting the Threshold and Tolerance Sliders. You now should have the white background removed and the letters displaying fairly cleanly.
    If it is not clean enough, go back to the effects tab and select Matte > Matte Magic and drag the Matte Magic effect to add that effect as well to the same clip.
    You can adjust the sliders of the Matte Magic filter to smooth out and feather the edges of the key,
    Hope this helps.

  • When printing some pages, it prints the background in a gold color and I would prefer white. A waste of ink....

    Some of these pages are receipts and news articles, but also others.

    First, check to make sure you actually HAVE transparency by doing one of three things: change the comp's background to something other than black, click on the button at the bottom of the comp window to view the alpha channel, or click the button on the bottom of the comp window to reveal the familiar Photoshop checkerboard background.
    Next, select a codec that supports alpha channels -- in Quicktime-Land, that would be Animation, PNG or Prores 4444.  For FCP, use ProRes if you can.
    After that add the comp to the AE Render Queue.  In the output module, select RGB+Alpha, Millions (or trillions) Of Colors +, and Straight, i.e. not premultiplied.  If you absolutely MUST have audio (I personally have little use for it), check the appropriate  check box.
    Finally, save the project and hit the render button.  DO NOT save the project again after rendering; instead, go file>Revert.  That way, if you have one of those Homer Simpson "DOH!" moments where you realize you made a mistake, you simply delete the rendered file, make corrections, and you're all set to re-render.

  • Black background of title turns color when adding fairy dust effect

    I have iMovie HD 5. I created a title using the animated gradient effect with orange font color and with the "over black" box checked. i then went to add an effect to the title clip, the "fairy dust" effect. After the effect is applied, the black background changed to the orange font color. In the previews, the background remained black when I added the effect. What can I do? Thank you

  • How change ProgressBar background or foreground (ProgressIndicator) color?

    As the title say:
    How can I change the color of a progress bar?. The background is very important and the foreground (or ProgressIndicator) is just for style
    Thanks!

    The thing to do is to extract caspian.css from javafx-ui-controls.jar, find the relevant piece of css, duplicate it in your own css file and then tweak the values. So, for ProgressBar and ProgressIndicator, look for .progress-bar and .progress-indicator styles. Visit this blog for an excellent overview.

  • Background: black&white - Object: color - How???

    Hi,
    My English isn't very good, I hope you understand it, if not please ask. Well, I've got a self-made movie where a you see a car driving. I want that the car got his normal colors (blue and black) and the background should only be black and white. Is this possible in CS3, and does somebody know how? Or does somebody have a good tutorial for this?
    Thank you,
    Patrick

    This is much easier to  do in After Effects but if you do not have AE here we go:
    Put clip op track 1 and add Black and White effect. You can also turn down the saturation in several effects.
    Put same clip (without the B&W) on track 2 and add the 16 garbage matte.
    Keyframe the garbage matte over time on the car in the clip.
    or
    add clip to track 1
    add clip to track 2
    add a white colour matte to track 2 and add the garbage matte to this and keyframe object over time
    for feathered edge add a fast blur.
    Dubble garbage matte
    Add RGB curves to the first clip to make the BandW more intens.

  • Beige background and unchosen line color

    a) Although the "No color management" option is checked in the color profile box, I get a beige background in several (not all) of my photos. A recently scanned newspaper clipping also appears beige, while the newpaper background is white.
    b) When I try to draw a line of a chosen color, the color of the line is different. E.g. I chose red and the line is light blue.

    Go to Image>mode and check RGB color
    Go to Edit>Color Settings and check to optimize for computer screens
    See what happens. If the problem persisist, suggest that you reset preferences.
    Go to Edit>preferences>General. Look for this:
    Close PSE and then launch.

  • Zsh (and Bash) Backgrounds Refuse to Change Color [SOLVED]

    I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but here goes.
    I installed Arch about a week ago and decided that I wanted to change the color of the terminal. I followed the guide on the Arch Wiki, (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Color_Bash_Prompt), creating all of the necessary files and copy-and-pasting all of the given text into those files. When I restarted my terminal, nothing happened. Fed up, I tried installing Zsh + oh-my-zsh. I successfully installed the two and installed  a zsh theme, but the background color still does not change. The text color, however, changes to the appopriate colors, but the background color remains white.
    Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Edit: I didn't specify, but I really don't care which terminal I end up using, just as long as the colors work.

    zsh and bash are shells, not terminal emulators. There is no "default" terminal, if you're using Arch. You had to install a terminal emulator at some point. Or maybe if you followed the beginner's guide you're using xterm. What window manager are you using?
    There are ways to set the background color in rxvt and in xterm using your .Xresources file. Look at the wiki topic for each of those terminals for more information.
    Maybe an easier method for you would be to install a terminal emulator that has menu support, like Terminator, LXTerminal, or Sakura. Then you can just right-click in the terminal and use the menu to set the background color and opacity.

  • Iphone 6 background screen is different color

    My iphone 6 was roughly 1% in battery charge and I plugged it in to charge it while on a phone call. The phone shut itself down and started to power itself up and when it did the screen was a different weird almost black and white rainbow color. How do I get the original color back on my phone.

    I'm assuming you mean the wallpaper. Have you tried going into Settings > Wallpaper and selecting your wallpaper again?
