DWCC Uploading 0-kb Files?
This just started yesterday.
I created a small HTML5 Page with 4 placed JPEGs and some text and uploaded via DWCC to my server at GoDaddy.
• No problems connecting to server
• Server "TEST" button showed successful connection when diagnosing
• Tried both Passive and regular transfer (same results)
All the filenames show to transfer to the server and when switching to "server" view all the files show to have uploaded; however, all but one JPEG shows to be a file size of 0-kb?
I created a new HTML page today (with different graphics and text - tried uploading, same thing (and the html page will not show up online in a browser - same as yesterday?
If I use Interarchy or Filezilla and upload the same files to the same server directory and select "OVERWRITE" everything works fine (no 0-kb files on server).
Any idea what is going on? I have restarted the computer twice and repaired permissions.
Thanks!

Hi,
I am getting an error while trying to upload a excel file. I am using the function HR_KR_XSTRING_TO_STRING for conversion. The error message is "Unable to interpret as a number"First of all, are you sure you know what you are working with here. If this is standard Excel file in the Microsoft binary/propriatery format there is not function module or class in ABAP that can magically just transform this to a character string. You should search the forums as this has been discussed extensively. On that topic, please also do not post duplicate threads. I have already locked your other thread with the same basic question.
Instead of the binary/propriatery format of Excel, the file should be saved on the client as a text based format - like XML or Text Tab Delimited. You can then use several different options on the server to convert the XSTRING to STRING and process the content (becuase it was text based to begin with). You could use CL_BCS_CONVERT, the function modules in the function group SCMS_CONV, or the class CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE. -

In you development server,
1. Create a new iview (With new from PAR file option). The iView wizard gives you the option to choose the PAR file available on your development portal.
2. Now create a Transport Package. Navigate to System Administration - Transport - Export.
Navigate to your Transport Folder in PCD.
Now Create a new Transport Package and add the iView to the package (iView created earlier from PAR file).
3. Now go to Transport Package properties and Make sure, you are changing the property id prefix to * .
This will include every object associated with the iView while manually exporting.
4. Now click on the EXPORT button. This will export the required PAR file with. This in turn create an EPA file. save it to your desktop.
5. Now in Quality server,
Do the manual Import.
Navigate to System Administration - Transport - Import.
Browse the EPA file on your desktop and say IMPORT.
This way, you will be able to get your PAR file as well as your required portal object (here the iView) in quality server.
Hope this helps,
Cheers!!!!!

how to upload a text file from a shared folder and provide an o/p containing the details in each order in the text file
Hi,
Use <b>GUI_UPLOAD</b> to upload a text file from a shared folder.
Use <b>GUI_DOWNLOAD</b> to download data in a file on the presentation server or use <b>OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER</b> and <b>CLOSE DATASET</b> statements to download data to the application server.
Now, I hope the code for data fetching, if required, is already present in the report.

Uploading and downloading files from a web app (Urgent!!)
Hi everyone:
I'm developing an application in PL/SQL to upload and download files from an HTML webpage. I congured the document table and the parameters necessary in the DAD of my application.
when I upload the file using my webpage that file info is automatically uploaded to the doc table. This is as far as I have gotten.
I need to do the following:
- Place the uploaded file into a column in another table in my database as part of a text message (think of it as an email message), and delete the file from the doc table (as this is thought to be a temp table that holds the file when uploaded from my webpage)
- Retreive the file so that it can be downloaded from another web page.
The file can be a PDF, WORD DOC, etc...
I now that I can do this with InterMedia but I haven't figured out how :(
Can anyone please point me to an example or some documentation that can guide me through the process.
DB VERSION: 8.1.7
IAS VERSION: 1.0.2.2
Thanks,
Carlos AbarcaThe idea was for you to look at the code and get an idea of how to access the BLOB in the document table. IF you look at the procedure
insert_new_photo( new_description IN VARCHAR2,
new_location IN VARCHAR,
new_photo IN VARCHAR2 )
It shows how to access the blob that is stored in the document table. You can then copy this blob to your own table using the DBMS_LOB package.
Hope this helps,

I am having some huge problems with my colorspace settings. Every time I upload my raw files from my Canon 5D mark II or 6D the pics are perfect in color. That includes the back of my camera, the pic viewer on my macbook pro, and previews. They even look normal when I first open them in photoshop. I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.
Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

Dw cs4 ftp - not uploading modified dependant files?
Hi, Ive made some changes to my css and worked on a few images, just over-writing them so they still have the same name.
I then uploaded the modified files but it still displays the old images and doesnt show the changes in the ccs?
Ive even uploaded the entire site again with no result :<
ps: Im working from a template, and all my pages are child pages from the template, all sharing the same css. Ivé cloaked the template but the css file doesnt have a red line through it.. dont know if this would affect anything.
reagards
Edit: Ive even tried to delete the style sheets and images by pressing delete in local and remote split view, and then re-upload them to no avail.
Does the host server refresh only so often or something?
bleh.. please helpIve even deleted all the files I uploaded on the server and re-uploaded them and still, it doesnt load using the modified ccs, calling up the old images and not applying the changes I made to a menu.
The only thing I can think of is that its uploading them to a new folder if it is able to call up images ive deleted but I havent changed and ftp settings so why would this be.
I also inserted a image, not related to the css and that gets called up... so im really lost? -
Issue while uploading the PAR file thru system admin- AdministrationConsole
Hi All,
I have downloaded the PAR file "com.sap.portal.navigation.lightdetailednavigationtree.par.bak" from system admin->support->Portal Runtime ->browse deployment->Web-Inf->deployment->PCD.
after downloaded to the desktop for manual change in one of the JSP file rather than importing into NWDS. I have removed the bak from the file and added the .Zip to the file and i extracted the file.
here inside i got the three folders i.e WEB-INF,PORTAL-INF and file_list. now i went to jsp file called "LightDetailedNavigationTree.JSP" , changed one small property value in the code from false to true. after that i again zip the folders strcuture make the file name as original in the form of .PAR file. now i am trying to upload it in the portal thru system admin->portal runtime->administration console, but i am getting the deployment error as mentioned in the below.
even though with error, the wrong version of the par file with extension .err was saved in the PCD folder strcture, and original file also still exists. now i wanted to remove the wrong version of the file from PCD, what is the procedure to delete the wrong version, here in administration console i found one button clean , but i could not able to locate the wrong file version , only original right version showing up in the clean dropdown??
Can u tell me what is the procedure to edit the PAR file manually after downloaded to the desktop, rather than going edit thru NWDS??
if we need to upload the PAR file after changes, do we need to delete the original PAR file before we upload the new version of the same PAR or it will be automatically overwrite the original file with the same name??
Still i am getting confusion, please let me know how to edit the PAR file manally and how to upload the PAR file with out any isse while uploading it in the portal thru system admin->administration console??
Any pointers in this regard would be the great help to me??

I'm running MX 2004 on Windows XP. All's been well for the
last few months, doing site maintenance at this part-time job. I
get tangled up a bit in checking files in and out, coming from
GoLive, and since there's no one else with FTP access, yesterday I
told it to check the entire site in. I didn't have any changes I
didn't want to commit, and I figured that would keep things a
little neater.
As of today, I can post revisions to existing pages, or
resize image files, but when I create a new page, or try to place a
new image file on an existing page, I can't upload it.
So, to be clear: I have two pages already up on the site,
index.html and apple.html, with a link between them. If I create
new page banana.html and make a link to it from index, index.html
will upload that revised link, but banana.html is refused with the
message
FTP error: The file may not exist, or there could be a
permission problem
I know the file doesn't exist (remotely); I just made it.
I've gone to Prefs and disable Check In / Check Out, which didn't
do me any good. What next? Can you open the FTP log, select one of these new files and
upload it- then
cut and paste relevant part of the ftp log?
Also- does this site have a "host directory", a subfolder
that your public
files need to go into? If yes- is this folder listed in the
host directory
line of the remote server info?
And odd past thing i've seen-
Had hosting that used public_html as the public folder name.
They also had a symbolic link named www that pointed to
public_html
Could upload/download existing files with www in "host
directory" line of
dw; but could not upload new files or work with files in
subfolders.
changing to public_html instead of the www symlink fixed this
for me.

Uploading Importing text file & crosstab display
<p> I want to upload a text tab delimited file into our db, currently we
are uploading it to a temp table in the db, do some validation checks and write
to a table when done. I have two questions:</P>
<p> 1) Is there a more efficient way of upload/importing flat files into
the db via forms, like loading data into a non db data block and working on the
data via loops rather than sql in a temp table.</P>
<P> 2) I want to present the data to the user(for verification) via a form
screen as they have read it in, the only way I can think of doing this, is
populating a temp table and then using a data block based on a stored procedure
that contains a dynamic pivot query package since I don't know the
number of columns that the file will contain. Data blocks can do either
vertical or horizontal alignment but not grid.</P>
<P> File will take the format of: </P>
col1 col2 col3
row1 data_r1c1 data_r1c2 data_r1c3
row2 data_r2c1 data_r2c2 data_r2c3
row3 data_r3c1 data_r3c2 data_r3c3
row4 data_r4c1 data_r4c2 data_r4c3
<BR>
<P>Thank you in advance </P>Thank you for your reply
1) It's a utility for users and so it has to be through forms
Presently I think it is better to read it in to a temp table then I can use sql for validation which would be faster than looping through blocks. But with this approach I'm just a little worried about Lost Updates e.g. what if someone is changing scores in the regular update screen while another person is trying to import them via the import utility.
2) I have to use a stored procedure because I don't know how many columns a user will want to load in, sometimes it could be 2,3 or 5 etc. So basically I am looking at a way of presenting the data from it's stored format in it's read in format i.e. file format
File format =
col1 col2 col3 coln
row1 data_r1c1 data_r1c2 data_r1c3 data_r1cn
row2 data_r2c1 data_r2c2 data_r2c3 data_r2cn
row3 data_r3c1 data_r3c2 data_r3c3 data_r3cn
rown data_rnc1 data_rnc2 data_rnc3 data_rncn
It is stored in the temp table as
row1 col1 data_r1c1
row2 col1 data_r2c1
row1 col2 data_r1c2
row2 col2 data_r2c2
Example
Test1 Test2 Test3 Test4
John 54 45 70 65
Jane 38 55 72 70
Stored in the temp and subsequently written to Student Score table as
Student Test Score
John Test1 54
John Test2 45
John Test3 70
John Test4 65
Jane Test1 38
Jane Test2 55
Jane Test3 72
Jane Test4 70 -
When i try to upload a .mts file from my Sony camera to Premiere Pro CC it refuses to play the audio! Ofcourse i could convert every single clip but it takes tons of time. How can i make Pr play audio track properly?
Does it not play at all or cannot you get the audio in the timeline?
Did you copy the entire card to the hdd and then imported the file via the Media Browser?
Did you source patch the audio tracks? -
How to allow users to upload a flat file to BW
Hi All,
For a planning application I would like to permit our users to upload a flat file on their local desktop to the infopackage and execute the load.
We would like to empower the users to prepare and upload their flat files into BW from their desktop without asking for BW support.
Please let me know if any of you have followed this approach.
Thanks
KarenHi,
The possible steps..
1. Create a small program and then give
Selection Screen:
FIle name : -
Note: Ask users give always same file name i.e. xyz.csv
Once user will give file name and execute it then file will save in Application Server (You fix the path like /usr/sap/BI1/DVEBMGS00/work, you create seperate folder in Application server)
2. Create a small Program with is using Events..
REPORT ZTEST_EV.
DATA: EVENTID LIKE TBTCJOB-EVENTID.
DATA: EVENTPARM LIKE TBTCJOB-EVENTPARM.
EVENTID = 'ZEVENT1'.
EVENTPARM = 'ZEVENTPARAM'.
CALL FUNCTION 'RSSM_EVENT_RAISE'
EXPORTING
I_EVENTID = EVENTID
I_EVENTPARM = EVENTPARM
EXCEPTIONS
BAD_EVENTID = 1
EVENTID_DOES_NOT_EXIST = 2
EVENTID_MISSING = 3
RAISE_FAILED = 4
OTHERS = 5
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ENDIF.
3. Once user will upload the file in Step 1, then he need to run this Program,.
4. You craetea Process Chain using this Event, then once User will run this program then the Data Loads will happen through Process Chain.
Note: Eventhough this is lengthy process, it is protected 100%, because we are not giving any access to User, we just given reports/programs to execute.

How to upload multiple .CSV files in the same time.
Hi Legends,
Can anyone please help me to resolve my issue?
This is very urgent and critical.
Description:
We have two users.1)edw_user_dump
2)prd_udm.
We need to upload the xx.csv file at the same time for these two users in oracle forms.
we have differentiated .csv file name based on the user names.
the main problem is in the sql loader command the xx.csv file name is created but the data is not captured in the server (kentucky) .
Below is my code for the upload.

MadhusudhananMadhusudhanan,
A couple of observations. First; always list your exact Forms version (eg; 10.1.2.0.2 not 10g R2). In most cases, the solution is different depending on the Forms version. Second; why must you use Forms to kick off a SQL Loader process? This is a server-side process and should be initiated by a server side process. If you absolutely must use Forms to kick off the process, again we need your Forms version in order to offer any solutions. Based on your code sample, I can asusme you are at least using Forms 9i becuase you are using WebUtil.
Is your Database and Application Server the same physical computer? If they are not, this would explain why your HOST command isn't working because HOST runs against the Application Server not the Database server.
Third; have you considered using and External Table (if your RDBMS version supports them) for each of the files you are attempting to upload? In this instance, it would be helpful to know your RDBMS version as well. External Tables can be a little frustrating to set up the first time, but as with any new construct you use - it gets easier the more you use it.
Fourth; are you getting any errors in your log file(s)? If so, what are the errors? Please list the full error message if you have one.
Finally, with respects to your statement:
