Dynamic creation of xml node

Hi there
I can't quite figure out how to add a node based on a passed
variable value
If I hard code it as can be seen in the line of code
commented out - it works.
But if I try to pass a string, it doesn't work

I have created context nodes dynamically. And i also want to create UI elements dynamically wherein i want to bind the attribute from the context node to it. For example i want to create a drop down by index and bind one of the attributes in the context nodes that i have earlier created dynamically to it. I do not know how to get the path to the attribute as i get IF_WD_CONTEXTNODE_INFO when i say get_child_node(). And the IF_WD_CONTEXTNODE_INFO does not have any method where in i can get IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE from where i can get the path by get_meta_path( )
Here is the code. The problem is to get the path which is the i/p to cl_wd_dropdown_by_idx=>new_dropdown_by_idx( ) method.

Context's structure is as follows:
- Person (cardinality: 0..n; selection:0..n)

I cannot figure out why, when the program runs, it renders 2 checkboxes but only the first one is checked.
The second checkbox should be checked off as well since its checked property is bound to the attribute selected_1 which is set to true.

As per my understanding you are trying to create group of check boxes dynamaically and all check boxes should work independent of each other. Please try the following code, I have modified your code:

Generating Dynamic UI from XML structure

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I need to select an entry in the first view and based on this, the second view would come come. But there are 30 different values that can be selected and each of them will have a different set of UI elements in the second screen. So if I go for normal static UI creation, then I need to create 30 odd views which is something we do not want.
The second option is to dynamically generate the UI elements in wdDoModify() method. But for 30 different conditions to check all the time will lead to performance issue.
So we are thinking if there is a way for webdynpro to dynamically read an XML structure that defines attributes and generates a layout for us dynamically.
Please provide your inputs on this. Also kindly suggest any other better ways for the solution.

I think you should go with second one. But I don't know any "ready to use" solutions, so you have to
- Create your own XML structure, something like
<section type="yourCondition">
<input name="somePropertyName" type="text"/>

</section>
- Parse this XML into Java Model (on application startup for example)
- On user selection choose requred UI Model from memory and pass it to view
- In wdDoModify() build UI(elements, context attributes, mappings etc.) according to this model
It will be rather complicated for huge UI, but possible.

i have a piece of code which dynamically create a business graphics. If i use the same node data and create BG in statically.. i am able to view the graph. In case of dynamic creation , i am getting graphical rendering error. Have i missed something here..

Iu2019m using the call transformation to convert ABAP data to XML file.
So please anybody can help how to define XML structure in transaction XSLT_TOOL.
And one more thing, here I need to put the condition to display the Header 3, Header 4, Header 5 values. If there is no record for a particular line item in header 3, 4 & 5, I donu2019t want to display full line items; this is only for Header 3, 4 & 5.

you can use CALL TRANSFORMATION id, which will create a exact "print" of the ABAP data into the XML.
If you need to change the structure of XML, you can alter your ABAP structure to match the requirements.
Of course you can create your own XSLT but that is not that easy to describe and nobody will do that for you around here. If you would like to start with XSLT, you´d better start the search.

How to binding incoming xml node list to the tree control as dataProvider

Recently, I faced into one issue: I want to binding incoming xml node (it's not avaliable at start) list to the tree control as a dataProvider.
Since the incoming xml node list is not avaliable at beginning but I needs to bind it to the tree, so I create one virtual one in the xml, and prepare to remove it before the tree is shown. (ready for the actual node adding). But It did not work.
Please see the presudo-code here:

For method: cleanData()，It's expected that when the treePage is shown, we first delete the virutalOne to provide one 'clear' tree since we don't want show virtualOne to the user. The virutalOne node just for building the relationship between treeData and treeXML at beginning. But the side effect of this method, I found, is that the relationship between treeXML and treeData was cut off. And this leads to that when I added new node (by click the 'addNode' button) to the xmlXML, the xmlData was not affected at all !
So Is there any other way to solve this issue or bind the incoming xml node list to the xmlListCollection which will be used as Tree control's dataProvider ?

If u want to display the name : value then u can do like this

According to your description, you created SSIS package and it works fine. But you got the error message when the SSIS package was called from a SQL Server Agent job.
According to my knowledge, the package may not run in the following scenarios:
The current user cannot decrypt secrets from the package.
A SQL Server connection that uses integrated security fails because the current user does not have the required permissions.
File access fails because the current user does not have the required permissions to write to the file share that the connection manager accesses.
A registry-based SSIS package configuration uses the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry keys. The HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry keys are user-specific.
A task or a connection manager requires that the current user account has correct permissions.
According to the error message, the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword as ArthurZ mentioned. To solve the problem, you need to go to Command Line tab, manually specify the paassword in SQL Agent Job with the command like below:
/FILE "\"C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\SSIS\Package.dtsx\"" /DECRYPT somepassword /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E

Creation of XML

Till now i was working on my test server and creation of XML file seemed to be ok.
Now i shifted to live server and suddenly XML creation is a problem. I do not have write access problem as the file is getting created and also root element is getting created. But after root nothing is going inside the file.
I do not understand why suddenly server is behaving like this, but can anybody give clues ? Is there any settings required ?
I am on Tomcat 5/Struts framework and using DOM to create file.

That can easily be done with XMLEncoder and XMLDecoder. Useful when you're too lazy to write a class to input and output to binary files... Like me :D

Dynamic creation of TabStrip

Hi,
I want to create a tabstrip dynamically.The tabstrip should have 3 tabs, and in each of the tabs i want to put some UI elements like a label, input field, dropdown, tables.........etc.
Im able to create the tabstrip and add tabs to it dynamically.
I've even created the UI elements which i wanted to put in the tabs.............But im not able to proceed as i dont know how to add the UI elements to the tabs.......
Can anyone tell me how to add UI elements to a tab in a tabstrip?

Dynamic creation of ComponentUsage

Hi people,
I want to reuse a view (ViewA) in different views (ViewB, ViewC, ViewD).ViewA has a quite complex logic, so it is necessary to outsource this view. Not only the logic, but also the count of UIElements and contextelements is quite large, for this I don't want to implement this part redundant in the views A, C and D.
I have to use ViewA in a table in the TablePopin UIElement. Every line of the table should have its own instance of ViewA. Is that possible?
My idea is it, to put the view in an own component. For every tableline I need an instance of the componentUsage. My problem is now, that I'm not able to create at runtime a ComponentUsage and at designtime I don't know how many instances I need. Is it possible in webdynpro to create dynamic instances of ComponentUsage?
If you know an other way, that prevents me from implementing the view and its logic more times, please tell me!

just for clarification. Principally it is possible in Web Dynpro to dynamically create new component usages of the same type like an existing, statically declared one. This means after having defined a component usage of type ISomeComp (component interface definition) you can dynamically create new component usages which all point to the same component interface definition ISomeComp:
wdThis.wdGetISomeCompUsage().createComponentUsageOfSameType();
But this dynamic creation approach implies, that you must also embed the component interface view of this component usage to the view composition dynamically; and this is (unfortunately) quite cumbersome and complicated based on the existing Web Dynpro Java API (it is not yet optimized for a simple dynamic view composition modification.
Additionally, like Valery pointed out, the dynamic creation of new component usages is not compatible with table popins.

Dynamic Creation of UI in adobe forms??

Hi Experts,
I need to create a dynamic interactive form and dynamic UI elements in the interactive form.
As per my requirement I need to display a pdf and I will be getting values from the RFC's. I need to show the form segments and the UI elements only when there's a data from the RFC else not. I am unable to understand whether this requirement needs generation of the UI elements dynamically or I can do it statically as well.
The form thus generated will be having data from the RFC which based on the data quantity may exceed to n number of pages.
In case it needs dynamic creation can you suggest me please how to achive it in interactive forms?

After installing Adobe Designer, goto the specific folder
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Designer 8.0\EN you can get sample documents.
For help press F1 after opening designer.
Sub Form1: Content--> Flowed, Flow direction --> Top to bottom
Binding --> Check the checkbox Repeat Subform for each data item
Subform 2: Content --> Positioned, No pagination No binding settings changes needed.

I have a Z program for updating a field in BOM item. One of the input field in the report is "Valid From Date". Actually the current date is automatically fetched through a function module and it is defaulted in that field.
Our client is using selection variant for ease of use. The problem here is old date in the selection variant is replacing the current date. I want current date to be created automatically during insertion of variant also. How can i solve this problem. Is there any selection variable inside the variant for dynamic creation of Date?

As I know there is no setting for this. For any std or Z report variant function with L should act same way...anyway you discuss with your ADABer.

Selection Variables
The following three types of selection variables are currently
    supported:
o   Table variables from TVARV
        You should use these variables if you want to store static
        information. TVARV variables are proposed by default.
o   Dynamic date calculations:
        To use these variables, the corresponding selection field must have
        type 'D' (date). If the system has to convert from type T to type D
        when you select the selection variables, the VARIABLE NAME field is
        no longer ready for input. Instead, you can only set values using
        the input help.
        The system currently supports the following dynamic date
        calculations:
        Today's date
       From beginning of the month to today
       Today's date +/- x days
       First quarter ????
       Second quarter ????
       Third quarter ????
       Fourth quarter ????
       Today's date - xxx, today's date + yyy
       Previous month
o   User-specific variables
       Prerequisite: The selection field must have been defined in the
       program using the MEMORY ID pid addition. User-specific values,
       which can be created either from the selection screen or from the
       user maintenance transaction, are placed in the corresponding
       selection fields when the user runs the program.
The SELECTION OPTIONS button is only supported for date variables that
   fill select-options fields with single values.
i.e means we can do that with D also.

Regarding : Creation of child nodes in a outlinefield

Hi,
I am facing a few problems in creating a child node. I read elements from an array to populate the outline field. The array has exact definitions as to what should be a parent and child respectively. While I am able to create nodes at the parent level, I am unable to create child nodes for any parent. I discovered that the value for the parent node is getting lost. I have tried to use some of the methods to arrive at the parent node, but to no anvil. Could some one suggest how exactly to get the value of the parent node so that the child node can be assigned to the parent.

I take it that you are traversing through the array and loading each
element into the OutlineField. At the risk of stating the obvious, for
each element you must also identify it's parent. This is necessary to
set the relationship from the child to the parent or vise versa.
If you are already doing this and are still having difficulty, the
problem may be as simple as setting the IsFolder property of the parent
node. Unless this is done, it's child nodes will not be visible.
