Dynamic locale switching
Hi,
I need to implement dynamic locale switching in my application i.e. the user
is allowed to change the application display language in runtime.
Is there a mechanism in JavaFX to automatically achieve this goal?
I know that I can use e.g. 2d array where every row may be a different language
and each row item could be a translated text and bind the array items to the UI elements.
I have also tried something like:
java.util.Locale.setDefault(newLocale);
StringLocalizer.associate("myapp.Main";, "myapp");but that does not refresh all texts on screen until I update them manually after switching language:
label.text = ##"Text in a label"Is there a way to refresh all visible texts after switching locale?
Thanks,
Dariusz Gadomski
Does each customer mean each user, or are there many users for each customer?
<p>
2) doableIn general you can use a TopLink DatabaseSession for each user/customer. You can use the same TopLink Project but can use a different login for each session you create.
<p>
If you have many users for each customer, you could potentially use a different TopLink ServerSession for each customer and allow the users to benifit from connection pooling and caching.
<p>
If you are using JPA, there is no easy way to do this currently. You could create the ServerSession yourself and then wrap it yourself with the TopLink EnitityManager implementation. You could use the same TopLink Project from your JPA persistent unit ServerSession and use a different login in your new ServerSession. If each customer has only one user then you could use a connection pool with only 1 connection.
<p>
1) a bad idea<p>
This is probably not a good idea. You avoid being able to share resources such as connection pools across your customers, and cannot share data. But it depends on how many customers you have and how distinct they are. Having each customer run on different databases allows you to have a different machine and application server for each customer, which you may need depending on how each customer scales. If you end up having a different server for each customer, then you could just have a single persistence unit in your application and change the persistence.xml or data-source when you deploy a new customer server.

Flexconnect Local Switching Hosts Do Not Receive IP Addresses
Hello,
My WLC software version is 7.4.110.0. I have a branch office in my lab. The AP in my branch is configured as flexconnect with native VLAN of 700. The SSID that I have in the branch office is configured to do local switching. The show wlan is added below.
My tunneled SSID still working and I can still receive IP addresses from it. My issue is last week I have the Flexconnect working with no problem, then this morning I can connect to the SSID, but I'm not receiving IP addresses for my test wireless clients.
Thanks

When i look at snapins thru consoleone i can see that Zenwork 7.0.1 snapin is installaed.
I have Novell Client 4.91 SP5 and Zenwork Client 7.0.173.91015 installed on the clients running WinXP Pro SP3.
There is different of failures that happens..
Senario 1:
I install a Latitude D610 with a WinXP Pro SP3 original CD, from scratch. I only install the drivers for the LAN-card to get access to the network. I do not update windows updates etc.
I install the Novell Client 4.91 SP5, after that i install Zenwork Client 7.0.173.91015. And apply some registry settings to make the novell client to use the "tab-function" and hide advanced settings etc..
I have my eDir user "ADMIN1" with the policy package with settings to Dynamic Local User set to create a local user with name Admin, but im not using volatile user. So the local windows user Admin will be saved when logged out.
I login once with my Admin1 user, it creates the local profile Admin from Default User (with the help of Zenworks, and the policy Dynamic Local User?). I restart the computer and login again, and the local profile Admin craches and create a new one from Default User but this local user profile is namned Admin.Computername.
Ive tested this with atleast four other computers (different hardware) so it cant be a driver issue.
Ive looked thru the local logs, and i cant find anything about any problem with reading the NTUSER.DAT as could be a problem to load the local profile.
I even tested this senario when i update all windows updates etc, with two different version of the zenworks client and so on. ive been testning this for like 100 times now atleast. and same failure is happening. Ive even tested this in a virtual environment (vmware workstation).
Senari 2:
Like the problem descried above, in some cases it loss the connection or something with the zenwork server side and the zenwork client on the client computer... Since it does not attempt to use the settings from Dynamic Local User, becuase i got the windows login window, and i have to login to an already existing windows local account (with otherwords i cant login to the Admin-profile since i dont know the login information to this account since its created by zenworks / dynamic local user settings, and from the settings there you cant set a password, just the name and role of the windows accout that should be created)..
And after a while i try again, and then the settings from Dynamic Local User passes by and log into the, (let me say) Zenworks created local user profile (set by Dynamic Local User settings).
I wanna mention that all computers thats old, no reinstallation.. I can login to without problem, without any crashes of the Windows Local Profile.
Ive succeded once without any Windows Local profile crash, rebooted this computer over and over again, and no failure. If you succed twice, it seems like its fine. But then i reinstalled this computer, just like i did to make it success. But this time it failed on the second try, and got a crashed profile....
Its kinda old hardware to the server where i have my Zenworks, could that be the case? Could it be some timeouts?
The concults i use to fix some problems in our environment updated zenworks from the serverside just before christmans.. Could it be any problems with some windows patch etc?
Any help would be appreciated!

I only know of one XP SP3 issue that could cause this, but it involves a pw
change and RP:
"When you try to log on to a Windows XP SP3-based computer by using a
roaming profile, the roaming profile cannot load."

Dynamic Environment Switching For REPORTS_PATH 11g
Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.2.0 with Patch Set 2 (11.1.1.3.0) - Linux
Dynamic Environment Switching For REPORTS_PATH doesn't work.
According to documentation B32121-03 (Publishing Reports to the Web with Oracle Reports Services 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) point 8.2.2):
1. comment REPORTS_PATH in reports.sh
2. set enviroment settings in rwserver.conf with REPORTS_PATH and NLS_LANG and defaultEnvId (DEV and PRD with defaultEnvId="DEV")
3. restart reports server
4. run http://mywls:8888/reports/rwservlet?SERVER=rep_wls_reports_mywls_asinst_1&REPORT=testreport.rdf&USERID=user/user1@mydb&DESFORMAT=html&DESTYPE=cache&ENVID=DEV
REP-110: File testreport.rdf cannot be opened.
REP-1070: An error occurred while opening or saving a document.
REP-0110: File testreport.rdf cannot be opened.
The same situation for &ENVID=PRD or without ENVID (as I expect it should work as default - DEV enviroment). File testreport.rdf is located in both paths (/u00/DEV/reports and /u00/PRD/reports)
http://mywls:8888/reports/rwservlet/showenv?server=rep_wls_reports_mywls_asinst_1&authid=oiduser/oiduser1 reads informations from reports.sh file but doesn't read enviroment settings from rwserver.conf (REPORTS_PATH is empty because I comment it in reports.sh).
Where's my problem? Should I set any other setting(s)?
Unfortunately note [231051.1] and other referenced doesn't resolve my problem...
Edited by: user9093781 on 2011-08-23 06:50Not sure if this helps at all. I just went through a nightmare trying to get 11g forms/reports to work through the forms builder.
What I discovered with that is that I indeed had to set the REPORTS_PATH in rwserver.conf... however there were 3 different files that I ended up having to put it in (not sure if had to be in all 3). And perhaps more importantly, there seems to be an order to how you put these xml statements in the rwserver.conf files.
In my case, it wouldn't work at all until I put it right after the last "<engine id=" statement.
Mine looks something like this (not that this is a snippet of the file in Windows, for running via Forms/Reports Builder):
<engine id="rwURLEng" class="oracle.reports.urlengine.URLEngineImpl" maxEngine="1" minEngine="0" engLife="50"/>
<environment id="default">
<envVariable value="C:\Oracle\WLS11gR1U4\user_projects\domains\AISworkstation\" name="REPORTS_PATH"/>
<envVariable value="AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1" name="NLS_LANG"/>
<envVariable value="RRRR-MM-DD" name="NLS_DATE_FORMAT"/>
</environment>
<environment id="windev_xxxxxxxx">
<envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH"
value="M:\ADS\Dvlprs\xxxxxxx\11g\FormsApps\stage;M:\ADS\Dvlprs\xxxxxxx\11g\FormsApps"/>
</environment>
I'm still figuring this all out too (although I did get it working how I need.. just not sure if it is the optimal solution), so I'm not sure how much this will help you. But for sure I can say that there is an order to these XML tags that I'm not so sure was the same (or maybe not enforced) in 10g.
Good luck -
Dynamic Bitrate Switching on Live Stream
I have FMIS 3.5. I've installed it with pretty much all the default values. I haven't changed any of the settings in either the LIVE or the VOD applications.
Dynamic Bitrate Switching is working well for VOD, but not working at all for LIVE streams. Doing a regular bandwidth detection on both the LIVE and the VOD applications give similar, high bandwidth results. However, the LIVE application NetStreamInfo.maxBytesPerSecond is showing a very low bandwidth capability of around maxBytesPerSecond = 19016, where as for the VOD its achieving around 637110. I can play a single LIVE stream of a high quality smoothly without any error.
I don't know if this is relevent but I'm getting some error messages occassionally in the log of the live application saying : Dropping application (live/_definst_) message. Clients not allowed to broadcast message. These messages aren't consistent, and don't coincide with trying to use bitrate switching.
I have tried downloading the Adobe sample StreamSwitching.fla and it won't play the LIVE streams at all. Using the opensource Longtail Video player it just always defaults to the lowest stream. Here is an example: http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/testbed/live/livestream2.asp
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be here? And any possible solutions?Thanks,I have read that article. Based on that article the NetStreamInfo.maxBytesPerSecond is not an accurate measurement to base dynamic switching on. This seems to be the basis of the bitrate switching in both the longtail player, and the adobe examples that I have tried. That article suggests using the dropped frames property, in conjunciton with bufferlength to determine if switching is neccessary. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a player online which handles this successfully. That being said, I can't believe I'm the only person trying to implement dynamic bitrate switching for live streams so surely there are some players out there which can do this successfully? If anyone knows of any code available which does this successfully I would appreciate knowing where! The examples provided by Adobe https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=fms35 unfortunately don't work either.

How to have H-REAP broadcast only specific locally switched SSID's?
I'm new to this H-REAP configuration, but in the main office we have about 6 WLAN's. I have a remote office which I want to have 2 new WLAN's and have them switched locally. How can I only have the H-REAP AP's at this site only broadcast those 2 SSID's vs all 8? I haven't really read anything about using AP Group VLAN's with H-REAP or know if that's even possible, but is this a possibility and if no,t what would you recommend?
Thanks for the help!I may create another topic - but here it goes...
I've decided to try to use an existing WLAN in the H-REAP config...
-I've joined the AP to the remote controller, assigned it an IP, put it in H-REAP mode.
-I chose a WLAN, enabled local switching
-I went into the AP, configured the native VLAN, however, I CAN NOT change the vlan of the WLAN listed. It always goes back to default.
I verified the vlan exists on the switch, is routable, etc, the switch port is a member of that vlan, it is set as a trunk w/ 802.1q, etc.
Any ideas on what would cause this?
I am SOO close Thanks! -
Flex connect with a per user ACL with APs locally switched
Hi all,
Does flex connect allow a per user ACL to be downloaded to the session with local switched, central authentication? We are using ISE for the central policy engine and have setup dACL for wired but am about to embark on WLAN. The controller is a 5508 and the. APs are 3700's.
Second question- if the flex connect APs don't do any form of per user ACL, the other option is to have the units in regular mode where they are both centrally switched and centrally authenticated which I understand to support a per user ACL. Our WAN links are between 10mbps - 30mbps and the most latency would be around 40ms. Will this cause issues at all with the size WAN links and latency?
Thanks
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad AppWell you are running v7.6 so FlexConnect per user radius ACL's are supported per this doc since v7.5.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/5500-series-wireless-controllers/112042-technote-product-00.html#anc9
As far as WAN latency, 200ms is good, but it depends in your WAN utilization now and how many AP's you plan on installing and the increase in wireless traffic across your WAN. There is a minimum requirement, but it's up to you in the end to make sure you have enough bandwidth or else you will need to QoS the capwap traffic to ensure the APs don't bounce from connected to stand alone.

802.1x Dynamic VLAN Switching Question
Trying to set up 802.1x dynamic VLAN switching, and have a question. I think I've gotten it working except for one part. The VLAN on a protected interface is never getting switched. I can see an entry in the ACS stating that it applied the appropriate VLAN via RADIUS response, but it never changes on the switch.
Environment:

Am I missing something easy?It looks like "aaa authorization network default group dot1x" was the missing command I needed to get this working.
The only issue I'm having now is that if the client fails to meet the authentication requirements, the line status gets set as "down" -
Hi All,
I have a working WLC with several HREAP AP's all Woking as they should, my question is what happens to dhcp requests when an AP is configured for HREAP local switching with no VLan support enabled ( connected to an access port not a trunk)? The local VLan has a dhcp helper address configured for an external DHCP server When a wireless client connects does all the traffic get dropped directly onto the local VLAN (in my case VLAN 10) or does any traffic transverse through the controller? I ask this because on the advanced setting page of the WLAN I have ticked DHCP REQ, how does the controller determine if the wireless client has a valid IP if the DHCP request is being supplied by the local VLAN.
I was under the impression that the control and data planes are separated?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone AppYou are correct, it gets dumpped on your vlan 10. As for your very specific question, thats a great question and I dont know that I have the anwser. Perhaps someone else like Steve, Leo or Scott can reply if they tested it.
Im going to take a stab in the dark and say perhaps the ap makes sure it sees a dhcp req packet come in before it allows the client to get into the run state.
OR, its doesnt work.
OR, if that check box is marked, perhaps the ap relays some type of response back to the WCL ...

DLSw+ local switching, Ethernet to QLLC
In the following url:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/tech/tk331/tk336/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080093fba.shtml
there is an example of using DLSw+ for connecting an ethernet device and a x.25 (QLLC) FEP. Is the opposite connection valid? For example, if the x.25 is at the branch level and ethernet at the Mainframe (OSA card), can DLSW+ still be used for connecting the device?
I am asking this, because we have a case where various servers in various sites are connected with x.25 lines to the IBM 3745. The scope is to replace this IBM 3745 with a cisco router and OSA card.
However, a change in all x.25 servers is out of the question (for the time being).yes, the scenario you describe is possible. In general everything you can do with dlsw local switching can also be done remote via dlsw.
It is always a matter of working out the specific details how to configure qllc. If you need specific assistance with a configuration open a case with the tac and the issue will be worked on.
thanks...

Multiple VLANs per SSID with local switch
Is it possible to use an 'AP Group' or 'Interface group' to assign multiple VLANs to a WLAN when remote, h-reap APs are in local switch mode?
If not, is there a way to overcome 500 maximum host per VLAN when APs are local switching?
Thanks!dont think its possible...
I donno if the following config will even work but u can have the hreap APs connected at the remote site to map to different vlans...
Example:
AP1 -- ssid 1 --- vlan 10
AP2 -- said 1 --- vlan 11 and so forth..
Sounds crazy but i ll have to ponder on this a bit more.. Need a pen and paper to draw a quick topology :)...

Hi,
I have ZfD 3.2 working with a Dynamic Local User (DLU) setup to remove the
Windows XP logon screen and to control student access to the workstation.
The DLU is a member of the Windows group "Users"
I have a full install of Office 2000 Pro (excluding Outlook). The problem I
have is that when a student logs in and starts WORD they are asked to supply
the Office 2000 CD to complete the installation, "The feature you want is
not installed..."
This fails as a "User" does not have rights to install programs. If I make
the DLU a member of "Administrators" then the Install will finish but the
same thing happens when the student logs in again. In any case I need to
have students only members of the "Users" group.
How can I stop this happening?

High CAPWAP traffic when locally switched
Hello all,
We're seeing an ongoing issue where several APs accross multiple sites log the error, "%CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Retransmission count for packet exceeded max(CAPWAP_WTP_EVENT_REQUEST., 12)", then disassociates from the controller, and reassociates almost immediately. The issue is the users get disassociated from the AP and call the helpdesk.
A counter measure at one site was to add the CAPWAP traffic (udp ports 5246 & 5247) to the controller in our QOS Platinum policy (setting the DSCP bit to 'ef'), but that doesn't seem to help.
We're using Flexconnect with central authentication, local switching.
A couple of questions:
1) The Platinum queue on the QOS is showing over 500 kbps when the only thing put in that queue is the CAPWAP traffic - there aren't any phones. Why so much bandwidth for authentication and control traffic?
2) What is happening with the APs that they can't talk to the controller that causes the issue in the first place? Bandwidth doesn't seem to be an issue.

I think you are hitting a bug (CSCse92856) specific to 1242 AP. Solution given is "Enable Proxy ARP on the default-gateway device of your AP". You can try that & see.

One other reason that H-REAP APs do not join WLCs is if the Proxy ARP is disabled on the gateway for the H-REAP APs. From the AP console, this message is logged:
*Jul 29 14:04:10.897: LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG:
Retransmission count for packet exceeded more than max(CHANGE_STATE_EVENT , 1)
This can be caused by Cisco bug ID CSCse92856. This problem applies only to AP1130 and AP1240. This problem does not apply to AP1000s, AP1100, or AP1200.
This problem occurs when these conditions are met:
HREAP mode is used in the WLAN. Local mode is not affected by this issue. Native VLAN mapping is required.
The APs have to be on a different IP subnet than the AP Manager of the WLCs.
Proxy ARP is disabled on the default gateway for the AP.
The H-REAP AP gets the default gateway from a DHCP server.
In order to resolve this issue, enable Proxy ARP on the default gateway router of the AP

WebAuth on FlexConnect Local Switched SSID
Hi All
I'm working on getting internal WebAuth to work on a FlexConnect local switched SSID. From what I've been reading, it's possible but apparently not very straight forward.
FlexConnect AP - if the SSID isn't local switch, WebAuth of course works fine.
Once I set it to local switching, WebAuth breaks. Any way around that in 7.6?
ThanksFigured it out just now. When using the WLC as a DHCP server(this is just a lab), selecting the Central DHCP Processing for use when in Local Switching also selects a box for NAT-PAT. Unselecting the NAT-PAT box fixed the broken WebAuth.
Going to have to figure out what that does. -
