Dynamic Tooltip Text over Business Graphics

Hello,
I would like to know if there is a possibility to display dynamically point coordinates (or other tooltip text) in a Business Graphics when the mouse is going over the gragh or when clicking ?
Thanks a lot
Marc

Hello Marc,
WebDynpro Point, Series and SimpleSeries elements have a tooltip property that you can define whether in design time or runtime.
Please see the details here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dd/65d79bb3b2e34e8b68f59129e7d811/frameset.htm
Best regards,

  • Overlay Drop Down Links/Rotating Text Over Graphic/Background

    I am fairly new to DW and am currently using Dreamweaver CS4. I would like to overlay drop down links and rotating text over a graphic image/background and am curious as to how this would best be accomplished. Is each piece; background/graphic, drop down links and rotating text a different layer? Can this type of thing be created using just DW or do I need Flash or something else? Please let me know if I should provide an example on the web to illustrate what it is I am trying to do - I wasn't sure if it is permissible to post links to sites that you don't own or are affiliated with in some way.
    I don't expect to be spoon feed but getting pointed in the right direction on what to research would be a big help!

    Is each piece a different layer?
    Not necessary to put everything inside an APDiv or layer.
    The best advice I can offer is to build unstyled HTML content logically from top to bottom of page.  I know, plain HTML is ugly but that's OK.
    Then use CSS to add background images/colors, text/menu styles and alignment.  Use default CSS positioning (which is no positioning at all) and use margins, padding and floats to arrange elements where you want them.
    See sample CSS Layout: (view code to see how it's done)
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/I-page-with-floats.html
    Can this type of thing be created using just DW or do I need Flash or something else?
    If you can work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code, you can do everything you want in Dreamweaver.  Flash is certainly optional but many devices (iPhones...) don't support Flash.
    Start by learning the basics first, then DW will be much easier for you to use.

  • Adobe InDesign, Text Colour and Graphic Overlay

    Greetings everyone!
    I am using Adobe InDesign to construct a portfolio and I am having a few small issues with my cover of the portfolio. I have integrated several graphics that are JPEG images into the cover and I added some transparency onto them. I am not sure how I can make it so that the text box is over the graphic. I am unable to press the text frame and instead, it seems like the frame for the graphic only ever appears as seen here in the top portion of my cover.
    I am not sure how I can get the text frames to show here. What is weird is that I can physically put the text over the graphic by moving the graphic but still the text frames do not appear. This is related, I think, to my other issue in that the graphics appear to change the colour of my text somewhat when the text frame intersects the graphic. It is not very noticeable but you can see it better in the photo below. Above, what is really strange is how my name is black (Michal Laszczuk) while the word portfolio is grey(affected by the white background?) though it should be the same colour since the white background intersects both words. If I am working from the premise regarding the colour alteration due to the graphic, then the colour should be faded for both "Michal Laszczuk" and "Portfolio". Does anyone know what is up here?
    On a side note, Im not sure why the graphics appear pixelated when not viewed in overprint preview.
    As seen above, I am assuming that the text gets faded since the background colour of the graphic is white as seen below.
    Does anyone know a way to eliminate this fading effect? I thought that if I put the text over the graphic, the colour of the text would not be impacted.This is clearly not the case as seen below. It seems like the darker elements of the graphic make the text darker while the white background fades the text.
    It is a subtle difference but it is noticeable when you look at the screen long enough. Does this have to do with the transparency effect that I introduced to the graphic or is it the nature of the jpeg graphic? It seems like the white background and colour of the graphic affect the text. Is there an easy way to make it so that the text is not affected? I would be happy to clarify anything or give more detail if this situation appears too confusing.
    Cheers!

    I don't 'hope' for anything...the OP doesn't seem to understand 'frames'--am just trying to walk someone thru the process of moving text to another layer.
    It also appears that a common mistake was made that allowed transparency settings to be applied to all elements.
    my explanation/solution will get the OP partially where they need to be and they might realize the error that was made and actually learn how to use the program

  • Dynamic Values in Business Graphics Tool Tip

    hi,

  • Dynamic title in Business Graphics

    Hi to all!
    I'm working with a Business Graphics and I'd like a title in the final rendered graphic. The problem is that the text I want to show is not static, it's the name of the person who is using the application.
    The question is: Can I bind the title of the graphic to a context attribute? or is it possible to pass parameters to the graphic?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    We have achieved this thru....
    1. If you navigate to src folder of your project... src\<package structure>...
    in that there will be a file <viewname>.wdview file. Where <viewname> referes to the name of the view in which business graphics UI element is used.
    2. Open that file with notepad, and you can see the structure of BusinessGrpahics UI element specified in xml format. In that copy what ever between <BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML>...</BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML> including these tags also.
    3. In the wdModifyView method of view name obtain the Business Graphics UI element and set the Direct Customizing to the above copied xml(as a string)
    String customXML = "<BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML>....</BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML>";
    IWDBusinessGraphics bg = (IWDBusinessGraphics)view.getElement("<business graphics UI element ID>");
    bg.setDirectCustomizing(customXML);
    4. In that xml string, the value under <Elements> .. <ChartElements> .. <Title> .. <caption> points to the title. you can replace that with your dynamic value.

  • Business Graphics- tooltip with series values

    Hi all,
    I'm using the Business Graphics UI element.
    I have a simple series and I want to show the series' values in the tooltip of the series.
    However, the tooltip property is not bindable for simple series.
    I tried using Series (not simple series), the tooltip works but I get multiple values for each category.
    See attached snapshot (I want the graph to look like the left graph but with tooltips...)
    http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/2977/businessgraphicsop4.jpg
    Basically, I need to see the values in a tooltip on a category based chart.
    Is it possible to create category based chart by using Series and not SimpleSeries?
    How do I solve it?
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi,
    I've change the context a little and now it's looks like this:
    Context:
    Category (Node, singleton)
    --> Series (Node, non singleton)
    > value (Value attribute)
    -->Text (Value attribute)
    UI: (UI Element, property, propertyValue)
    Business Grpahics -- seriesSource -- Category
    --Category -- description -- Category.txt
    --Series -- label -- Category.txt
    --Series -- pointSource -- Category.Series
    SeriesPoint -- tooltip -- Category.Series.Value
    SeriesPoint -- valueSource -- Category
    NumericValue -- value -- Category.Series.Value
    Thanks,
    Omri

  • Business graphic UI - display plotted value in tooltip

    Hi,
    In Business graphic UI element, there are few simple series. there are some values being plotted using those series.
    for example, sales for year 2001 is 89, sales for year 2002 is 91, sales for year 2003 is 78. I want to display the values 89, 91,78 in the tooltip when the mouse is hovered over these series.

  • Business Graphics UI SimpleSeries Changing Label Dynamically

    Hi guys, I am using the business graphic UI element in one of my WD4A component. My BG has 2 simple series and one category. As I can see, using simple series, the label property cannot be bound against a context node attribute. I have to find a way to set this property dynamically.
    According to this link: click after on the simple series
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/ed/258841a79f1609e10000000a155106/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/ed/258841a79f1609e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
    It seems we can change the label property dynamically, maybe using the API but how?
    I found the interface IF_WD_BUSIN_GRAPHICS_MTD_HNDL, but I don't know how to use it!
    thanks
    Alex

    Hi Alexandre,
    have a look at the Web Dynpro component WDR_TEST_EVENTS, view BG_SIMPLE_IN_MPANE, method WDDOMODIFYVIEW.
    Here is a snippet for setting additional customizing or data for a business graphics view-element. Call this from method WDDOMODIFYVIEW.
    DATA lr_bg TYPE REF TO cl_wd_business_graphics.
    DATA lr_bg_method_handler TYPE REF TO if_wd_busin_graphics_mtd_hndl.
    DATA lr_add_cust_xml TYPE REF TO if_ixml_document.
    lr_bg ?= ir_view->get_element(  <your viewid of business graphic>  ).

  • How to add series to Business Graphics control dynamically?

    Hi Experts,
    How to add series to Business Graphics control dynamically?
    I tried the method add_series( ) but could not use it properly.
    If you have any clues of using it, let me know.
    I need it urgently.
    Best Regards,
    Arti.

    I'm not sure what ADD_SERIES method you are refering to. The only programable API for the Business Graphics that I found was this one:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/42/e61cd068dc3ee4e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    I've not ever tried it, but you not just add the series UI element like any other dynamic UI manipulation during the WDDOMODIFYVIEW?

              IWDCategory c = (IWDCategory)view.createElement(IWDCategory.class,null);
         //     c.setDescription("tableutility");
              c.bindDescription(wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute(IPrivateSDNUtilityView.IContextElement.TEST));
    bg.setCategory(c);
              bg.setDimension(WDBusinessGraphicsDimension.PSEUDO_THREE);
              IWDSimpleSeries ss = (IWDSimpleSeries)view.createElement(IWDSimpleSeries.class,null);
              ss.bindValue(wdContext.nodeDepartments().getNodeInfo().getAttribute(IPrivateSDNUtilityView.IDepartmentsElement.NO_OF_PEOPLE));
              ss.setLabel("Simple Series");

  • ToolTip text disappearing

    I have a ( Swing ) GUI with buttons down the left side next to a graphics canvas. The ToolTip text which I have set for the buttons only appears over the panel and will not overlap onto the canvas. Is this a surmountable problem, or is it something that isn't "fixable"?
    Thanks
    Chris Green
    ( I am using JDK1.3 )

    There is still a solution to your proplem. Instead of Canvas you can try to use a JLabel like:
    1. Write all your graphics to an Image (like in double buffering)
    2. Create an ImageIcon
    3. Set ImageIcon for your JLabel
    (perhaps you should put your JLabel on a JPanel)
    //this JLabel will be used instead of canvas
    private JLabel jcanvas = new JLabel(); //no text
    Image img = getYourUpdatedImage();
    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(img);
    jcanvas.setIcon(icon);This way your ToolTips won't be cut, and there won't be any flickering.
    Cheers!

  • Business Graphics - Bar Chart - How to make the height extendable

    Hi Experts,
    I have created Business Graphics UI element for my WD application which fetches data from R/3. I am displaying
    1) Cost Element in Y-axis and Cost in X-axis.
    2) I have set ChartType = Bar, height = 300, width = 830
    When the no of cost elements is upto 7-8, the graph is getting displayed correctly.
    However when the no of cost elements increases to more than 12, the graph becomes un readable. The system displays lot of texts in Y-axis.
    I want to make sure that if no of cost elements increases, the Y-axis of graph should extend.
    How we can do so?
    Regards,
    Gary

    I could not got any solution of this issue. Finally I convinced the customer to display only top 10 records. Any way higher level managers won't have time to see the graphs of all data.
    One way of resolving the issue is like this - create say 3 Business Graphic UI element. The height of Business Graphic UI element can be set as 300, 600, 900 etc.
    For 10 records use Business Graphic UI element  of height 300.
    For 20 records use Business Graphic UI element  of height 600.
    For 30 records use Business Graphic UI element  of height 900.
    Use the 'Visibility' data type to hide / unhide the Business Graphic UI of different height.

  • How to use series in business graphic ui element

    Hi All,
    How to use the series in business graphic ui element? my requirement is i have to display the sales in selected months in graph(these values dont know at design time).
    Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi,
    Use the dynamic node  and bind this node to the BG source node and series nodes.
    Create a node and bind this node to the BG source and the value that you want to shown in series has to be bound to that attribute of the node and similarly with the category.
    Check out for the dynamic node creation and bind this node to the BG.

  • Business Graphics API in WEBAS J2EE

    Hi,
    i have a business graphic integrated into my webdynpro application. I checked the api documentation for business graphics and found out, how to change the type of the business graphic and the number of dimensions programmatically.
    On the API, i cannot find out any further possibilities of modifing the chart programmatically. I wonder about this, because the business graphic UI - element in NetWeaver Developer studio provides much more configuration possibilities on charts.
    For example, i would like to use the averagre functions or adapt the number of labels on the chart axis. But all dynamically.
    Has anyone experience, with such advanced business graphics features and nows if it is somehow possible to get to theses features by using the NetWeaver API?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards
    Christoph

    As I understand, your user management is through database, so when a user is created in your application, the parameters pass through the Action Handler -> service class-> DAO. So a better way would be write an additional class with the user management implementation of BO with a constructor or a method which would take the required user creation parameters and call it in the service class just under the user creation method of your DAO.
    As the user in your system passes some information from the front end, the same can be used to create user in BO.

  • Problem with Business Graphic:

    Hi Everybody!
    I am working with a UI control Business Graphic in WebDynpro Java,
    I need to change the text of the legend, and is taking an automatic value, what is the property in the Chart Designer where I can adjust this?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Edited by: Briger Palacios on Jul 6, 2011 11:16 PM

    Hi Briger,
    For Changing ur own legend , just write the label property of "SimpleSeries" ,which comes under  your "BusinessGraphics" .
    As many simple series will be there, that much no of legend is require, so just write your label of each simple series.
    if any doubt , plz let me knw.
