Dynamic updated data management/displaying

Hi
I've a question regarding architecture selection for my project. I need to create something like bwin.com has in live betting. Customers have a page with current options that are changed very fast, admins have a page to change the options. The question is how to implement this to achieve best performance. That's my idea:
Admin has a JSP page with AJAX stuff to add/remove/update things visible on customers side. When he changes anything, it's saved using EJB in db, but also in XML file.
Customers site reads data (every 5 secs, using ajax as well) just from XML file to make sure db is not overloaded. Only when he wants to make an action on given data, double check (with data from db) is made.
What do you thing about this? Is it the fastest solution? Other ideas? Maybe web service for getting data for client?

what do mean by how the data is stored in RSA3, I did get this pl clear to me.
In the PSA I found "update Request is not genareted"
in what case update request will miss, I think that is problem.

I have a simple delimited text file of current weather observations (less than 20 items) updated every 15 minutes, which I display via an embedded Flash animation. I would like to do away with the Flash approach, and display the data in tabular fashion within a webpage.
What do people consider the best approach to getting the latest data out of the text file and into the webpage? I already use some simple php to get the data into variables for the Flash approach (simply explode the text file into an array), but I don't know enough php to see how to flexibly use this within html ie use the array variables at later points in the html.
I'm sure that there are several possible approaches here but I lack the depth of knowledge to decide where to start. So, suggestions please, and then I can go do some reading.

php is run only once and is done so before the user sees the page so it cannot display anything for you. The only way to do this without flash or java is with javascript and asynchronous xml. You may have heard this as AJAX and is what google uses for its suggestions, maps, w/e. I recommend using a javascript toolkit such as Mootools because it is simple, fast, and has better approaches than other frameworks. Simply give an id to a div you want to update regularly, and execute
$('divid').load('pageurl');
and it will inject the contents of the url into the div.
It can call on a php script and every time you load the php file, the php file will get re-executed.

Dynamically updating data in ADF

Hi,
I am currently developing an adf application where I need to show some dynamic value to the user based on the user login in application.
Now I am getting this user specific value by using API calls and feeding the view table of ADF, which in turns creates the row dynamically and display the result to the user.
The issue is that since I am feeding the data in View table of ADF dynamically, if a different user log in to the application then at that time the API calls will fetch that user specific details and will delete the existing data from the table and will insert the new values.
So the value which was displayed to the 1st user will not be available for use.
Please help me in solving this issue.

Is there a way to dynamically update date in the file comments every time I save the file?

My files starts with comments on who has created them and such.
I want to update the datefield where it says it was last modified. It would be very tiresome to update it manually every time, and I am looking for a easier way.
Of course I can always check in SVN when someone did an update, but I would like to see it in the files as well.
Could anyone point out if there already is a working solution for this or if I have to hack it myself?

Dynamic Page that calls DB procedure to update data gets PLS222 or PLS306

This seems a bit odd to me: I'm getting either "procedure no in scope" (when I call a procedure with the right args) or "wrong # or type of arguments" (when I call it with the wrong ones, so it is checking the procedure) in a dynamic page.<P>

I've tried specifying the schema, using a public synonym, and putting it in a package: same thing occurs, either I get pls 00222 not in scope when I call it with the right columns, or if I purposefully leave one out I get PLS 00306 wrong # or type of args.<P>

Need to automatically display update date and user in update form field

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me with this... I am using dreamweaver cs4 and php/mysql. I have a database table that will be updated by 1-5 different people at random times. I have everything set up and working, as far as the update function, delete function, add new, etc. In my update form the last two fields are Last Updated and Last Updated By. There are fields in the table called 'last_updated' (formatted in PHPmyadmin as timestamp) and 'last_updated_by'. But how do I get them to update on their own? Right now it is showing the first entry into the field which I did in the PHPmyadmin table, but it is not updating automatically. It would be a nice field to have so that we know who has worked on the table and when it was last updated, without the user manually typing that in, which I am sure they would forget to do. By the way, users will login to this with a username and password before editing the records.
This is the code for the last row in the update form with those two fields. It is pulling the fields from the database table, but they do not update automatically...

Application Manager displaying an "Up to date" label next to software I don't actually have

I uninstalled and deleted the whole CS I previously owned to download and license it from CC.
Now I haven't been able to download the software again since the Application manager displays an "Up to date" next to the programs I had (but don't anymore). I checked many times and I don't have any files related to Adobe other than the application manager. I can only download the software I didn't previously have, and the weirdest thing to me is that I'm still able to "update" that software.
Anyone knows what to do or has the same problem?

Any way for one VI to dynamically update images shown in another VI's Image Display control?

I've just discovered (in LV v7.0) that, while I can wire to it, I cannot write image data to a "value" input terminal of a property node associated with an Image Display. When the VI runs I get this error:
"IMAQ Vision: (Hex 0xBFF6051A) The Image Display control does not support writing this property node."
(I must admit that I have to wonder why we are allowed to wire to it, if all it does is generate this error)
Is there any way for one VI to dynamically update images shown in another VI's Image Display control?
I am not interested in using IMAQWindDraw windows.

OK, I have found one way to simultaneously access one VI's image data within another VI without the use of globals. I don't know if it makes use of a known feature of image data that will be with us forever or if it is a bug that will disappear sometime in the future...
It seems that if I create an image data stream in one VI using IMAQ CREATE and name the data stream "ABC" and then create an image data stream in another VI using IMAQ CREATE and also name that data stream "ABC" then in fact they are both the same data streams and they can be read or written by either VI.
Using this feature I can write the common data stream in one VI and using a shared occurrence or semaphore let the other VI know when it is OK to display the data from the common stream.
This method requires that the displaying VI needs to have a while loop around the image display which is not nearly as simple as a display that is updated automagically by another VI writing to a VALUE input that is referenced back to the Image Display. I'd still like to know if there is some way to make that work.
One corollary to this is that if you have several image data streams in use in a system (they can be in totally separate VI's, running independently) and you don't want them tromping on each other's image data then you need to make sure that they (the image data streams) get created with different names. An example of a place where this might bite you (and where I discovered this "feature") is to have multiple copies of the same VI with different names to do image acquisition and display from multiple cameras. Being copies of the same VI, they all had the same image data stream names, defined as constants, within them. When they were run simultaneously, the image data from all of the multiple cameras randomly appeared in all of the image displays. I don't know if this feature would hold up if the separate VI's were turned into separate executables and then run. Do any of you know if this sharing of image data streams with common names works across executables running on the same machine?

Sort all the Records in Data manager based on Update Date

How to sort the reocrds in Data Manager based on Date or something ?
And also I have three records for a same customer in ( for three different company codes ) and when I search for this customer with the Customer number then it is showing three records , but when I search with Update Date then no records are fetched ...what is the reason ?

If you make a field as type "Time Stamp" in your data model using the MDM Console, make sure that the option Sort Index is set to Normal. If this is the case, whenever a record is updated in the repository, the date will be updated. If the sort index is normal, then MDM will allow you to sort the records based on the date and time by which they were updated. You can do this by finding your time stamp field in the MDM data manager and clicking on it. If there is an up and down arrow next to the name of your field, it means it can be sorted. Also, to answer your other question, you can definitely search based on date. Use the Free-Form Search on the left hand side of the data manager at the bottom of the screen. Simply select a date, and it will show you all the records updated on that date.

Reg "created by" and "updated by" fields in Data Manager

Hi,
I just want to know if we have any solution for the "Create By" and "Update By" issue in data manager. Because in my system i have two users. The 1st user created the record and later if the 2nd user edits any field then only the "Update By" field should show the 2nd user name but as of now now it updates both the "Create By" and "Update By" by the 2nd user name.

Hi Arumugam,
goto Console and check the "Selected Fields" property of your "Create By" fields. You should choose a field that does not change at all if some updates the record. A good choice is a Auto ID that is created only once when the record is created. So you can ensure that your Create User will not change if anyone is updating the record later on.

Displaying date/time in the report of last updating data?

I have produced a report over a multiprovider. The multiprovider is built up from tow cubes. The data is being updated to one cube each hour and to the another cube one time daily.
The date/time that display in the report is for the last updating data of the cube that updating one time daily.
I want that the date\time be updated each hour, in another words, to display the date\time of last updating data to the second cube.
Any suggestions?

Data Manager : SQL Update Error

HI Gurus,
In Data Manager,
we are trying to execute assignment on 900 records at once, assignment working fine when we split it in to 300 inbatch, but it gives assignment execution failed : SQL Update error, while we execute on 900 records in a streach. we are wondering what causes this error when it is executed more than 400 records. please through some lights on this.
Note: Assignment got one IF conditon , IF (expression,value), here expression got <conditon1> OR <condition2> OR <condition3>...... OR <Consition35>

I feel you are getting this error because the assignment which you are trying to execute is little complex, and database does not have sufficient resources at that point to execute the SQL statement. I feel, this will be happening on irregular basis.

Workflow Not displaying in Data Manager once it is launched ...

I am experiencing a strange problem in Data Manager Workflow Tab. I am using MDM 5.5 SP6.
While importing records either Iby using import Manager OR Import server, workflow is triggered and we can see the workflow in the workflow tab with status 'Unlaunched' and once it is launched it is not displaying any other steps and it disappears after completes the workflow. But all the steps in the workflow completed successfully. Workflow tab is empty for Status = ALL.
This was working fine until few days back.
Anyone experience this issue?

I think it may be because you are using wrong user to check this.
Try to login into Data manager through Workflow Owner User ID.. it should display All workflow jobs there, even completed ones also. and Status = ALL should work there.
The workflow owner has special privileges and visibility. The owner of a workflow is the only user who can see in its task queue for every instance of every step that is available to or received by every other user. I think, other users will see tasks only if it is step is available for them or in received status.
Check and revert with the result.

You will need to include prompt in your package to let end users to input the variable value and then you need to pass it to logic script using *FUNCTION instruction inside.
So in the end you should have the following lines in your MODIFYSCRIPT:

hi, i want to write datas in tthe xls sheet, i have in other sheet from same file xls a dynamic graphic, and i want to update de graphic with the new datas writed, how can to execute the command "Update Data" in the dynamic graphi sheet??

You missed a space in the string after your WHERE clause.
put an extra space after the 'WHERE' in your execute immediate statement.
     EXECUTE IMMEDIATE
          'UPDATE '|| affectedtable|| ' SET '|| affectedcol || '= :nvalue'||
          ' WHERE '|| affectedcol || '= :ovalue'
          USING newvalue, oldvalue ;
