Dynamic x-lable in chart, is it possible?

Hi all,
In table and chart view, when i drill down on a column of table, the chart also drill down in that dim, i want to set the x-lable to show the column which i drill down, for ex:
drill down on area, i want to show only city on x-lable, can i do that?

Thanks,
Your method can fix it, but i need to create many many reports. And my customer want to drill down what he want's. Is there any better way?

    In general propierties of chart, 'Show data labels' --> set Default (On Rollover)
    Good luck.

  • Display Dynamic HTML beside Flash Chart in Chart Region

    Hello,
    I have a vertical 3D flash chart with some categories I,II,IV... on x-axix. I have to show a legend beside the chart dynamically depending on the categories displayed like (I - PC, II - TV, IV-Laptop....) First I tried to do this with static data. I modified, Region Source of Chart region to include the legend. I am successful to create a table & put some static html code. Now I want this to be dynamic.
    I found that with shotcuts I can put dynamic HTML code. I created shortcut with PL/SQL & successfully displayed them in a 'HTML REGION WITH SHORTCUTS', but I want that in Chart Region, not as a separate region. Shortcut is not working in Chart region.
    How can I achieve this? Is there a way to call a process or substitution string or some thing from Chart Region to display my legend dynamically beside the chart.
    Experts any hint is appreciated.
    Sowji.

    Experts,
    Can you please give any hint how this can be achieved? If I keep the dynamic legend as HTML with Shortcut region, the width & height are not matching with the chart region as it is dynamic. Also, I am unable to combine both 'chart' & 'html with shortcut' region to look like one region. So I am looking for options to insert the dynamic html in to chart region.

  • How to add line series dynamically to a line chart in flex?

    hi..i need to add line series dynamically to a line chart..depending on an array..the application is this..i have an array which stores the details of the users connected to an fmi server..the chart should display the bandwidth of each client..so the users should be added and removed from the chart dynamically...

    Hi
    1.I am giving you solution for dynamically adding values to the dropdown
    public void addValue( )  //Method Name in Component controller
        //@@begin addValue()
              IWDNodeInfo nodeinfo = wdContext.nodeNodeTestData().getNodeInfo();// Node should be map to the view's Node
              IWDAttributeInfo att = nodeinfo.getAttribute("VechileTypes");// Attribute by which dropdown in bound//
              IModifiableSimpleValueSet svSet = att.getModifiableSimpleType().getSVServices().getModifiableSimpleValueSet();
              svSet.put(wdContext.currentNodeTestDataElement().getInpAtt(),wdContext.currentNodeTestDataElement().getInpAtt());
        //@@end
    2.   wdThis.wdGetLangCompController().addValue(); // call this method in the point where u want to add values to the dropdown.

  • Dynamic series in flash chart & color specified for each series

    Example of data:
    Date     Series 1     Series 2     Series 3     Series 4     Series 5     Series 6     Series 7     Series 8
    A     12     22     23     22     22     10     10     10
    B     10     9     55     8     8     20     20     20
    C     55     2     5     88     5     15     15     15
    In excel, I can get a stacked horizontal bar chart with the numbers of different series stacked and it is easy to specify the color for each series (it works with Dephi aslo).
    I use a PL/SQL to generate the dynamic series for the chart. And in my application, I need to show some serires with the same color (group of series, each has a specified color). One of the solution I am trying is to input a fixed color sequence and loop it many times in the custom color theme and then insert dummy series into the SQLS. But this could be a disaster while the number of group goes up.
    Anyone has better idea on this? Or is this a limiation of apex?
    Thanks.

    As I tried, apex can support 300 series at most. Dynamic series here is not a good solution still.

  • Dynamic data inside a chart's dataProvider

    Dear Members,
    I am adding some extra touches to my application, it's basically a tool to give online presentations so I would like to add some charts for a more visual experience.
    I am using the Flex Pie Chart that I create dynamically with actionscript:
    private function createChart():void
         series = new PieSeries();
         series.nameField = "label";
         series.field = "data";
         series.filters = [];
         chart = new PieChart();
         chart.percentWidth =100;
         chart.percentHeight = 100;
         chart.showDataTips = true;
         chart.dataProvider = medalsAC;
         chart.series = [series];
         charts.addElement(chart);
    The above code works fine, the problem is with providing the data for my chart. Below you can see that I created some variables in which I store data. Now the problem is that when I assign these variables like you see below, the chart won't show them. It only shows the static data (200) from the first product.
    So I wonder what I am possibly doing wrong? I guess it's something very simple, but without those dynamic vars I can't use the charts.
    private function setChartData():void
         var data2:uint = 200;
         var data3:uint = 300;
         var data4:uint = 200;
         var arr:Array = [];
         arr.push({label:"Product 1", data: 200});
         arr.push({label:"Product 2", data:data2)});
         arr.push({label:"Product 3", data:data3});
         arr.push({label:"Product 4", data:data4});
         medalsAC = new ArrayCollection(arr);
         createChart();

    I don't think Wayne is kidding at all.
    You stated earlier: "But it is clear that Numbers resembles Excel."
    In the very general sense (both are spreadsheet applications), that's true. But it is also clear that a Smart car resembles a Peterbilt tractor unit. Both have two axles, limited passenger seating and engines that require Diesel fuel. I wouldn't use either to do what the other is intended to do, nor would I expect each to behave exactly like the other.
    You describe what you want to do as "something simple." It may well be "simple" (it certainly looks simple, and requires simple actions on the part of the user—in either application), but unless you have programmed that function, you have nothing on which to base the assumption that it is "simple."
    Your original question was: "What is the equivalent in numbers?"
    In the "simplest" terms possible: There is no equivalent in Numbers.
    Wayne has described for you how to accomplish a similar result. You have explored and found  way to make the result closer to the result in Excel.
    He has also given you the information on steps to take to suggest to Apple (rather that to the users in this community) that the method of achieving this result be improved.
    That's about as far as it can go in this forum.

    Barry

  • Dynamic Query in SVG Chart

    Hi,
    I have SVG Chart, Chart Type: Cluster Bar, Vertical. I have 4 Chart Series. First:
    SELECT null link, X.MESIC
    FROM [email protected]
    WHERE ..........
    I have given dynamic Chart Series Query:
    'SELECT null link, X.MESIC
    FROM '||adm||'.[email protected]
    WHERE .........."
    but Apex write error:
    1 error has occurred
    Failed to parse SQL query
    Please help as in what am i missing?

    You can either use a SQL query or a function returning SQL query as the source of your chart. Just adding some quotes to a query however doesn't make it dynamic nor a function. Try something like this:
    begin
    return 'select null, ename, sal from emp';
    end;
    Edit your existing chart source, and check "Save query without validation", so that APEX doesn't attempt to parse and validate the query when saving.
    Hope this helps,
    Marc

  • Dynamic title change in chart

    Hi,
    I have created a Revenue vs Period chart. I have a time dimensional hierarchy for drilldown. By default the report charts revenue across year. The chart title should be Year. when i drilldown from year to quarter the title should dynamically change to Year>>Quarter. when i drilldown again the title should be Year>>Quarter>>Month.
    Do we have any option for changing the title dynamically in chart? Is there anyother way to achieve it?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi friend,
    In general propierties of chart, 'Show data labels' --> set Default (On Rollover)
    Good luck.

  • *Can I pass default Selection dynamically for Drill Down Charts*

    Hi
    I am having Charts with Drill Down tab and I am currently having to select a value for the Default Selection Combo Box while saving the chart.
    I want to be able to update this default selection depending upn data coming from the XML / Webservice. Is there a way to update the Default Selection dynamically ?
    Please let me know if anyone has come across this.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
    Drill Down > Default Selection > Series/Item may not be filled dynamically.  They must be selected manually.
    Good Luck.

  • Dynamically stacked plots of chart

    In LV 2009 it is still not possible to set the number of stacked plots of a chart programmatically. Is there any useable workaround?
    Before I start measurement I know how many channels I will acquire – between 1-16.
    Before the measurement starts I want the chart to display as many plots as I have charts
    I am building exe in the end (in linked thread is proposed some workaround that doesn't work in executables)
    My only suggestion so far is to use 16 stacked plots and play with their height and position to hide and show them = not very friendly. Thanks for any suggestion

    If you somehow manage to execute the program with "overlayed" plot selected (with the number of stacked plots wired to the property node )and then switch back o "stack plots" progrmatically i think you can solve this...

  • Dynamic query structures with restrictions - is this possible

    Hi experts,
    We have a client that has hard coded query structures, much to our chagrin.  These structures change quarterly and because the structures are used across several queries and workbooks, I need to find a new solution that will makes the dynamic and can be updated in production.  We have investigated the use of hierarchies for this, and unfortunately this will not work.
    Also, their queries are locked down in production, so all changes must transport from Dev to QA to Production.  This setting is mandated from the parent company, so changing this is not possible.
    Question:  Is it possible to write a WebDynpro or ABAP program that will allow users to change these hard coded structures?  What tables would be used for this?   I'm hoping we can create custom tables that dynamically populate the structures of the query, but I have doubts this can be done.
    I suspect this is a stretch, but I'm hoping somebody might have attempted this.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.  We're proficient in BI so any suggestions would be great.
    Example structure:
    P&L Structure
    Revenue ......................(restricted on Revenue GL accounts)
    Out of Pocket Revenue.....(restricted on Out of Pocket GL accounts)
    Total Revenue...................(total of the Revenue and Out of Pocket Revenue from above)
    Best,
    Larry

    ...to put a maintainable table in front of the users can be as easy as creating a  'parameters' cube and putting an input ready query on it. Lots of other options, such as a simple custom table and a gui based form to maintain, but I've used exit variables looking up values from custom parameter cubes a great deal in planning applications.
    Another alternative may be to add a new attribute to your gl accounts to indicate the nominal reporting group, and base your variable exits or row structures on that, leaving your users simply to mainain their GL Account Mastre data as required.
