Dynamic XML with Weblogic ?

hello all !!
May be this question is already answered, and sorry for that, but here again !
I am trying to use Weblogic server, in order to process XML files, this files
make a query to my Oracle Data Base, Before this I was using Cocoon (apache) to
generate the dynamic XML with the query's result, is there a way to make the same
thing with Weblogic ? anybody know how to do it ? do yu have a simple example
? here is a sample code that I use with cocoon.

<?cocoon-process type="xsp"?>
<xsp:page language="java" xmlns:sql="http://www.apache.org/1999/SQL"
xmlns:xsp="http://www.apache.org/1999/XSP/Core"
xmlns:request="http://www.apache.org/1999/XSP/Request">

<sql:execute-query>
<sql:driver>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</sql:driver>
<sql:dburl>jdbc:oracle:thin:@IP_Address:1521:cta</sql:dburl>
<sql:username>User</sql:username>
<sql:password>Password</sql:password>
<sql:doc-element>My_table</sql:doc-element>
<sql:row-element>record</sql:row-element>
<sql:query>select * from My_table</sql:query>
</sql:execute-query>
</page>
</xsp:page>
Thanks a lot for your help !

Since Cocoon is a servlet, just install it in Weblogic.

• How to bind dynamic xml with Java objects without xsd

have a question, and hope someone here can help me.
In my current project, I will get a xml file, containing some information of each user, and map them into a set of user objects.
For each user, there are some fixed attributes, such as name, phone#, age, position, etc. The problem is, client can customize, and add new attibutes, such as address, favorite color, so there will be no xsd for the xml.
What I want to do, is map fixed attributes to user object attributes, for example, name attribute to User.name, and they will have corresponding getters, and setters, but for custom attributes, I want to add them to a HashMap in User object, for example, use string "ADDRESS" as the key, and address as the value.
Is there any way I can do this? Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

It would not be too hard to do in regular code.
First, make a HashSet with the Strings for the names of the known attributes that will be processed with setters.
Then, get the NamedNodeMap via getAttributes(). That will give you all attributes -- both the ones you will handle with your setters and the ones you will handle via a HashMap.
Then, loop through the NamedNodeMap. For each attribute, get the name and value. If the name is in the HashSet of known values, process it with a list of
if ( attName.equals( "name" ))
whatever.setName( value );
continue;
}If it is not in the HashSet, then set the value into your HashMap with the name and value.
There is no standard way to do this.

To answer Mike's follow-up question, yes. From the DTD for the web.xml
file:
<!ELEMENT web-app (icon?, display-name?, description?, distributable?,
context-param*, servlet*, servlet-mapping*, session-config?,
mime-mapping*, welcome-file-list?, error-page*, taglib*,
resource-ref*, security-constraint*, login-config?, security-role*,
env-entry*, ejb-ref*)>
The ordering of elements must be followed if they are specified in the DTD.
Move your first <servlet-mapping> element to after the second <servlet>
element and it should work just fine.

• Help using dynamic XML with Tree Menu

Can some one please help me? I don't know what I'm doing
wrong. I'd simply like to be able to load an XML file of data and
use this data to populate a Flex tree component.
The XML file needs to reside on the server and will change
from time to time, so I am loading it via an HTTPService call. The
part that I can't get to work is the way the
XML is displayed in the Tree component. It ends up blank or
sometimes I just get the result of "[object Object]". I know my
syntax must be screwed up somewhere, but because
AS3 and Flex are new territory for me, I can't get it to
work. I am feeling my IQ drop on a minute to minute basis. Please
help me if you can! Thanks!
In this example, I am expecting a list of the different
groceries/categories to show up in the tree menu. Instead, I get
nothing.
HERE IS THE XML FILE, CALLED "groceries.xml":
<catalog>

<product name="Buffalo" cost="4" isOrganic="No"
isLowFat="Yes"/>
<product name="T Bone Steak" cost="6" isOrganic="No"
isLowFat="No"/>
<product name="Whole Chicken" cost="1.5" isOrganic="Yes"
isLowFat="No"/>

<product name="Broccoli" cost="2.16" isOrganic="Yes"
isLowFat="Yes"/>
<product name="Vine Ripened Tomatoes" cost="1.69"
isOrganic="No" isLowFat="Yes"/>
<product name="Yellow Peppers" cost="1.25"
isOrganic="Yes" isLowFat="Yes"/>

<product name="Bananas" cost="0.95" isOrganic="Yes"
isLowFat="Yes"/>
<product name="Grapes" cost="1.34" isOrganic="No"
isLowFat="Yes" />
<product name="Strawberries" cost="2.5" isOrganic="Yes"
isLowFat="Yes"/>

</catalog>
HERE IS THE MXML FLEX FILE THAT ISN'T WORKING AS I'D LIKE IT
TO:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="absolute" initialize="initializeHandler(event)" width="240"
height="340">
<mx:Script>

import mx.collections.XMLListCollection;
import mx.collections.ICollectionView;
import mx.controls.List;
private function initializeHandler(event:Event):void {
textService.send();
private function resultHandler(event:Event):void {
myTree.dataProvider = textService.lastResult.catalog;

</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService id="textService" url="groceries.xml"
result="resultHandler(event)" />
<mx:Tree id="myTree" labelField="@name" showRoot="false"
x="20" y="20" width="200" height="300" />
</mx:Application>
Any help is deeply appreciated.

You must specify a resultformat of e4x. The default
resultFormat is object. Object only works when you have a very
simple xml structure that can be consistently represented as a set
of objects.

• Adobe Dynamic XML vs Static pdf

I created a form with LifeCycle Designer ES2, with actions.
When saved as Adobe Dynamic XML (pdf), it works flawlessly, however the file size is around 1 MB.
When I save it as Static PDF, the file size is reduced to 195k, but the actions don't work any longer.
I need the smaller file size because these documents get opened on mobile devices. Is there a way to have the best of both worlds here?
Either Static PDF with actions working, OR Dynamic XML with a small file size.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The issue is with the Fonts used inside the PDF. You have used, Impact, Calibri, Courier New along with native Myriad Pro font.
Since you have used fonts other than the native one, the form is by default embedding these additional fonts as part of the PDF.
Probably one of the font is occupying all the size of the PDF.
You have to change the font to either Myriad Pro or Arial which is light weight. (OR) you can make an image out of the Impact font text ("Notice of Violation" and "Officer's report must be sent to the safety office withing 24 hours !") and use it as an image inside the PDF.
To remove the Embed Fonts option, goto File -> Form Properties menu -> Save Options tab.
Below is the form with Embed fonts option UNCHECKED.(54 KB). But the special fonts might not display properly.

Hope this helps.

• Generate Dynamic XML

Is it posible to generate a dynamic XML with XI.
The idea is to build a interface RFC to HTTP, where the output has to be a dynamic XML, I mean, we need to build the XML.
For this case, he RFC is going to have the information of the data, and the type of data (TABLA; STRUCTURE, etc)
If anyone have some information about this, please let me know.
Best regards

/bump
The original message started four months ago, and obviously never got answered.
I'm facing the same challenge atm .. anyone with brilliant ideas ?
Input = fixed data
output = xml format, fully based on the content of the input - eg. field-content determines the xml-tags as well as the values of the tags.

• How to generate dynamic XML

Hi there,
I am looking for a solution to the following code which will work only for a particular table , what if i want it to work for all the tables where columns names and columns quantiry varry , is there any dynamic way to accomplish this?
---> here is code snippet
MyClob := '<root>' ||
'<row type="old">' ||
'<column name="REFTYPECODE" value="' || :old.REFTYPECODE || '"/>' ||
'<column name="REFTYPEDESC" value="' || :old.REFTYPEDESC || '"/>' ||

'<column name="CREATEDDATETIME" value="' || :old.CREATEDDATETIME || '"/>' ||
'<column name="UPDATEDBY" value="' || :old.UPDATEDBY || '"/>' ||
'<column name="UPDATEDDATETIME" value="' || :old.UPDATEDDATETIME || '"/>' ||
'</row>'
||
'<row type="new">' ||
'<column name="REFTYPECODE" value="' || :new.REFTYPECODE || '"/>' ||
'<column name="REFTYPEDESC" value="' || :new.REFTYPEDESC || '"/>' ||
'<column name="CREATEDBY" value="' || :new.CREATEDBY || '"/>' ||
'<column name="CREATEDDATETIME" value="' || :new.CREATEDDATETIME || '"/>' ||
'<column name="UPDATEDBY" value="' || :new.UPDATEDBY || '"/>' ||
'<column name="UPDATEDDATETIME" value="' || :new.UPDATEDDATETIME || '"/>' ||
'</row>'
||
'</root>';

Have a read through the Oracle® XML DB Developer's Guide - online copies of all Oracle documentation is available via http://tahiti.oracle.com
Then explain your problem about building dynamic XML with a bit more detail. Why would you want to make the actual XML itself dynamic? The XML itself should follow a specific pre-defined template and then used to dynamically generate XML output as per this XML definition/template.
Or am I missing something here?

• Dynamic table with strange XML

Probably I should write my problem before, instead of asking "part-questions".

I have an XML like this:
<Root>
<Elem1 value="ss">
<Elem2 value="ss2">
<ElemInTable1 value="s" index="0">
<ElemInTable2 value="s" index="0">
<ElemInTable1 value="s" index="1">
<ElemInTable2 value="s" index="1">
</Root>

Explanation:
Elements:
a) ElemX are normal fields.
b) ElemInTableX are elements which represent a table. All elements with the same attribute index are in the same row.

I am trying to create a form which will allow me to have an dynamic table (adding and deleting rows), which will fill both attributes ('value' and 'index').
I am out of ideas who to bind fields to textfields, or how to "repair" XML with javascript. Still something does not work correctly.

Hello,
you have to change your XML to smth like this:

<root>
<Elem1 value="ss"/>
<Elem2 value="ss2"/>
<table1>
<ElemInTable1 value="s" index="0"/>
<ElemInTable1 value="s" index="1"/>
</table1>

<table2>
<ElemInTable2 value="s" index="0"/>
<ElemInTable2 value="s" index="1"/>
</table2>

</root>

and make this file as source for DataConnection.

After that you will be able to bind tables and add instances.

• Adobe Reader for Android to work with dynamic XML PDF forms?

Any possibility that Reader for Android will ever work with dynamic XML PDF forms created by Abobe Acrobat Pro?

GoodReader ($4.99), ezPDF Reader ($2.99) and PDF Expert ($9.99) are well rated and support many more features.

• Dynamic Table with XML Schema

Hi, I am new to livecycle and wondering if there is any sample for setting up the dynamic table with XML schema so I can access the data through workbench's xpath. thanks.

Ivor,
Take a look at the samples shipped with Designer. For 8.2.1 release take a look at
C:\Program Files\Adobe\LiveCycle Designer ES\8.2\EN\Samples\Forms\Purchase Order\Schema\Schema\Purchase Order.xsd
and the form samples.
Otherwise, forward a request to [email protected] I would be happy to send you a sample XDP with a dynamic table and a schema.

I added this as current xsd reference for weblogic 10.0 MP1 but throws me error that it could unable to identify the library reference.
Here is the following XSD file /
(http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-javae/1.0/weblogic-javaee.xsd)
Any suggestion for this would be really great.
Regards,
Kal.

The error appears to come from the ariba code. I suggest asking them.

• DataGrid and Charts with dynamic XML

First of all, forgive me if this has already been answered.
The charting examples you see in the Flex documentation all
use the same familiar ArrayCollection, and binds it to a DataGrid,
Bar Chart, Area Chart, etc. However, all the grids and charts
already know the structure of the data because the mxml contains
field like yField="month" displayName="Month".
What I am trying to do is make everything dynamic. I am
converting an XML structure to an ArrayCollection and making it the
dataProvider, but all I end up with is the column headers. The
actual data doesn't populate the rows of the DataGrid.
Beyond that. I want to take that same ArrayCollection I
created from dynamic XML and use it as the dataProvider for any of
the charts included with Flex Charting. Basically, a way to
visualize the same data in any of the Flex charting components via
a drop down.
Has anybody got this to work?

Without actually seeing the file, I would say check your
content-type and make sure it is 'text/xml'.
You can see examples of setting the content type here:
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/utils/query2xml.html
You can sometimes tell just by viewing the dynamic XML in the
browser. If it shows as a XML tree, all is well. If it is a big
blob of text, it's probably content-type...
Let us know...

• Application deployment order with weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and jndi-name

I have two applicatation working on Weblogic server v. 10.3.6.
First of them creating one ejb stateless bean and creates JNDI maping for it (in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file):
<weblogic-enterprise-bean>
<ejb-name>ConfigMenegerBean</ejb-name>
<stateless-session-descriptor>
<stateless-session-descriptor>
<business-interface-jndi-name-map>
<business-remote>package.ConfigurationSessionRemote</business-remote>
<jndi-name>ConfigMeneger</jndi-name>
</business-interface-jndi-name-map>
</stateless-session-descriptor>
<enable-call-by-reference>true</enable-call-by-reference>
<jndi-name>ConfigMeneger</jndi-name>
</weblogic-enterprise-bean>
Second appication have to refer for this bean by JNDI using spring been lookup :
<jee:jndi-lookup id="configManager" jndi-name="ConfigMeneger"/>
I changed deployment order parameter for both apllication(first=100 and second=500) in order to first app start first and share bean by jndi to another application. Unfortuantelly I got an error :
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'ConfigMeneger'. Resolved ''; remaining name 'ConfigMeneger'
How can I configure deployment order that first application make jndi mapping for bean, before the second application will use it ?

Ok in a way I have solved my problem (even if I am not completely satisfied by the way on how to proceed...). So thanks to message "JBuilder7.0 and Weblogic6.1" on EJB sun forum :
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?thread=285735&forum=13&message=1255488
I have tried the following actions (mentionned in the other forum messages):
- To preserve changes to weblogic*.xml, the safest way is to change the ejb-borland.xml.
(I am not sure that I have applied this advice correctly, because I suppose that syntax is not similar in weblogic file or borland file).
And you can MANUALLY update the weblogic file in your JAR archive.
1. Open the EJB JAR file in Winzip and extract the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file, so that a copy exists in your
project directory.
2. Open this file (in Notepad), add the WebLogic specific information, and then save the file.
3. Now, when you are finished with the build cycle and are ready to deploy, you may open the EJB jar file
and swap in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file."
Good Luck.
