Dynamically call movie clips

I am creating an animation that has a rotating globe that
then fades out and that is attached dynamically. I created 3 movie
clips that I need to bring in while the globe animation is going
and before it fades out. I need the movie clips to come in AFTER
the globe has started spinning, and then one at a time play. Then
once the last logo has come in, the globe should fade out. I need
to do this all dynamically in AS. I have the globe animation but it
fades out automatically not when the logos are done, and I figured
out how to bring in the movie clips but not at the right time. I'm
very new to Flash and AS and I just can't figure out how to do it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
The script for the globe is as follows:

If there is a loop function somewhere for the motion, then
you could probably delay the logos loading by setting a counter
that triggers their loading when it reaches x number of rotations,
say counter = 1, load first logo, counter = 2, load second logo,
etc... counter = 4, fade the earth.
By the code you show above, the logos would be appearing
instantly, so what you could do is have them added thru a function
instead. That function gets called based on the counter value in
the earth looping code.
If the file is reasonably small, I'd be willing to give it a
looking over to see if I can offer some suggestions specific to
what you already have.

  • Center a dynamically generated movie clip

    Hello,
    I have created an empty movie clip in the root, I load
    dynamically some jpg to the empty movie clip, but now I want to
    center it and I can't :(
    I have this code, it centers the movie clip but on the
    registration point of 0,0 not in the middle of the movie clip so
    the movie clip will show up nice and centered.

    use:
    imageholder_mc._x = Stage.width - imageholder_mc._width / 2;
    EDIT: lmao kg :)

  • Dynamically placing movie clip at the angle and global position of a mouse click (button) which is constantly rotating.

    Does anyone know the code for finding the global positioning of  X & Y co-ordinates of a click of a button which is constantly rotating,
    and then secondly the code for when you click on the button it  displays a movie clip on top of it -(position of x & y when clicked) at the angle that you clicked it  (so underneath the buttons are still rotating so other people can click them where they are)
    to explain the context, I'm trying to design a mock up of a circular interactive table
    when someone comes up to it and clicks on one of the buttons that are moving, it reads where the person clicked it and opens up a new box (movie clip) where they clicked it (at the angle) so its not upside down if you are at the top.
    I've included my .fla file which shows the four buttons moving and a little diagram
    explaining what I'm trying to do.

    yourbutton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,f);
    function f(e:MouseEvent){
    var yourmc:MovieClip=new YourMC();
    yourmc.x=e.stageX;  // if you want the mouse position where the button was clicked.  else use e.currentTarget.x and e.currentTarget.y
    yourmc.y=e.stageY;
    yourmc.rotation=e.currentTarget.rotation;
    addChild(yourmc);

  • Problem with accessing dynamically created movie clips, returns null...

    Hopefully this is a stupid question with an easy answer, if my code is straight forward enough.
    I am using this snippet of code to create menu items, and then use the jCount variable below to give the clips an index number, like so (which seems to be working just fine):
    for(var j:Number=0;j<xmlSubMenuLength;j++){
        var mcSubMenuItem:mcSubMenu=new mcSubMenu();
        addChild(mcSubMenuItem);
        jCount++;
        mcSubMenuItem.name = "mcSubMenuItem" + jCount;
        //traces out names correctly
        trace ("---------------------------------jCount NAME = "+ mcSubMenuItem.name);
        mcSubMenuItem.x=mcMenuHolder.x+20;
        mcSubMenuItem.y =mcMenuHolder.y;
        mcSubMenuItem.y+= nextBtnY;
        nextBtnY+=subtopicSpace;
        global_subi.text = String(jCount); //i see the proper count of 10 in the text field
    However, when I try to access the clips using this snippet:
    for(var j:Number=0;j<Number(global_subi.text);j++)//
      trace("GLOBAL SUBI = "+ String(global_subi.text));  //traces out 10, which it should
      var scSubMenuItem:String = "mcSubMenuItem" + j;
      var scSubContent:Object = this.getChildByName(scSubMenuItem);
      trace(">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>scSubContent:Object = "+ scSubContent); //returns null!
    My last trace statement returns null. Can anyone see my error, or explain why I can't access my clips after they have been created?
    Thank you muchly,
    ~Chipleh

    Hi kglad,
    Thanks for the response.
    "it's not clear from the shown code that jCount is initialized." - I've posted the relevant code below, which shows that I'm initializing jCount.
    "and it's not clear why you don't use j instead of jCount in that for-loop" - j is used as loop for creating the subtopic movie clips within the i for-loop. So, for each topic in i for-loop, create a group of suptopics using the j for-loop. The j for-loop re-initiates j every time the length of the subtopics is reached(if that makes any sense) - i.e. topic1>subtopic 1,2,3,4 : topic2>subtopic>1,2 : topic3>subtopic1,2,3,4
    jCount is used to keep a running count of the total number of subtopcs created - i.e. per the example above, jCount will display 10.
    var topicSpace:uint=button_mc.height;
    var subtopicSpace:uint = button_mc.height;
    var nextBtnY:uint = 0;//whatever;
    var jCount:Number = 0;
    function createXMLMenu(menuLength:Number,itemName:XMLList):void{
         var navItemText:XMLList = itemName;
          for(var i:Number=0;i<menuLength;i++)
               var mcMenuItem:mcMenu=new mcMenu();
               addChild(mcMenuItem);
               mcMenuItem.btnTxt.htmlText = i+1 +". " +navItemText[i];
               mcMenuItem.ivar = i;
               mcMenuItem.name = "mcMenuItem" + i;
               mcMenuItem.x=mcMenuHolder.x;
               mcMenuItem.y =mcMenuHolder.y;
              //kglad's addition
               mcMenuItem.y+= nextBtnY;
               nextBtnY+=topicSpace;
               var subVar:Number = i;//mcMenuItem.ivar
               //Submenu content
               var xmlSubMenuLength:Number = xml.sim.bodyText.page[i].subpage.length()
               var menuItemAttachment:MovieClip = MovieClip(mcMenuItem);
               for(var j:Number=0;j<xmlSubMenuLength;j++)
                     var xmlSubPageNumber:XMLList = xml.sim.bodyText.page[subVar].subpage;
                     var subNavLinkNumber:Number = xmlSubPageNumber[j];
                     var subTitleText:String = xml.sim.bodyText.page[subVar].subpage.subNavItem[j];
                     var mcSubMenuItem:mcSubMenu=new mcSubMenu();
                     trace("mcSubMenuItem.ivar = "+ j+1);
                     var mc2Attach2:MovieClip = MovieClip(menuItemAttachment);
                     mcSubMenuItem.btnTxt.htmlText = j+1 +". " +subTitleText;
                     mcSubMenuItem.ivar = Number(subVar);
                     mcSubMenuItem.jvar = Number(j);
                     addChild(mcSubMenuItem);
                     jCount++;
                     mcSubMenuItem.name = "mcSubMenuItem" + jCount;
                     trace ("---------------------------------jCount NAME = "+ mcSubMenuItem.name);
                     mcSubMenuItem.x=mcMenuHolder.x+20;
                     mcSubMenuItem.y =mcMenuHolder.y;
                     //kglad's addition
                     mcSubMenuItem.y+= nextBtnY;
                     nextBtnY+=subtopicSpace;
                     global_subi.text = String(jCount);
                mcSubMenuItem.lExtend.visible = false;
    global_i.text = String(i);
    Then I try to access the clips like so:
    -The first for-loop access the topic movie clips, no problem, and traces out scContent correctly.
    -The second for-loop traces out null everytime, when I would expect it to be tracing out the names of the subtopic movie clips.
    function accessClips(){
         //This will access the topic movie clips
         for(var i:Number=0;i<Number(global_i.text);i++)
               var scMenuItem:String = "mcMenuItem" + i;
               var scContent:Object = this.getChildByName(scMenuItem);
               trace(">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>scContent:Object = "+ scContent);
         //This is supposed to access the subtopic movie clips
         for(var j:Number=0;j<Number(global_subi.text);j++)//
               var scSubMenuItem:String = "mcSubMenuItem" + j;
               var scSubContent:Object = this.getChildByName(scSubMenuItem);
               trace(">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>scSubContent:Object = "+ scSubContent);
    Hope this makes sense, Chipleh confused. If the code is not clear enough, let me know and I'll try to further clarify.
    Thanks again,
    ~Chipleh

  • Trying to dynamically Rotate a Dynamically Created Movie Clip

    Hi As3 Gods...
    I want to rotate a movieClip that is created and animated by a function in the same Code window.
    var electron:MovieClip=new MovieClip
    createElectron(electron)
    electron.rotation=90 ------> I expect the whole animated MovieClip to rotate. nothing happens though.
    // I have a function that receives the electron and build / animates it
    function createElectron( receives the MovieClip + more parameters ):MovieClip
    { bunch of codes
    returns the MovieClip
    It is achievable if I create an external MovieClip through library, and put the createElectron codes inside that movieClip and export it to ActionScipt and then rotate it, but then i donno how to assign Parameters to an external function in the movieClip when i call the electron, i want to be able to tell the function what is the radius, speed, etc. I have never tried creating Classes, donno if it helps me here or not. I think i m failing to sort of WRAP the MOvieClip and the animation inside, so i can rotate the whole thing when returned.

    var electronsH:Array=new Array
    var electron:Sprite = new Sprite();
    buildElectronBeam(8,50,50)
    function buildElectronBeam(atom,repeatHorizontal,wide)
                 For loop{
                       var electron2:Sprite = new Sprite();
                      singleElectron(radius,4,electron2)  // here i send electron2 to be animated and built up in the called function
                      electron2.rotation=90 // This does rotate the electron but not the animation defined for it.
                       electronsH[h]= electron2
                       addChild(electronsH[h]) // shows that animation is still horizontal
    function singleElectron(radius,pixel,electron:Sprite)
    createPoint(pixel)
        function createPoint(radio:uint)
            electron.graphics.beginFill(0xFFFFFF,1)
            electron.graphics.drawRect(0,0,pixel,pixel)
            addChild(electron)
            electron.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, movepixels)
         function Animatepixels(e:Event)
         {   pixel starts to spin on a horizontal line}
    I think my problem is I dont know how to attach this animation to be part of the MovieClip so i Can rotate the whole thing. What i was trying to achieve here is to say flash "Consider whatever going on in this singleElectron function as my MovieClip" but as we both see, electron is the movieClip and animate function just performs something without being a part of MovieClip itself.

  • Trying to access a specific movie clip with a string

    Ok, what I am trying to do is create as many movie clips as I
    need and then access those movie clips using string values. These
    string values are stored in an array and coincide with a given
    movie clips instance name. Check out the following code:
    I think my problem is that Flash is trying to call movie clip
    methods on a string instance. I'm not sure how to type cast in
    Flash, or even if it is possible, but how would I access the
    strings as movie clips?

    DuhChamp,
    > I think my problem is that Flash is trying to call movie
    > clip methods on a string instance.
    Bingo.
    > I'm not sure how to type cast in Flash, or even if it is
    > possible, but how would I access the strings as movie
    > clips?
    Use eval() or the array access operator, []. Details here

  • Dynamic text in looping movie clip

    Hi,
    I am looping a movie clip which has a dynamic text box. I
    need to call data from XML and place the same in the Dynamic text
    box as per the duplicated movie clip. how do i do that.
    Thanks,
    Ayush

    on (release) {
    _parent.frontFields.topTextArch.ph2TopTextBrush._visible =
    false;
    That is the script attached to my button. I can see the text
    flash for a second when I push the button but it does'nt go away
    because the looping movie clip just continually goes back to the
    first frame and makes the ph2TopTextBrush text field visible again.
    I think I know what your saying. Your saying to attach a
    script to the first frame of the looping movie clip that would
    check to see which of the 3 dynamic text fields are visible. That
    would be perfect but I'm not sure how to do it.
    What would the script that I place on my button look like?
    What would the script in the first frame of the looping movie clip
    look like?

  • Dynamically adding multiple instances of a movie clip to the stage with one button

    hello,
    I was wondering if there was a way to add several instances
    of the same movie clip to the stage dynamically utilizing one
    button.
    I can do one with the following code placed on the button...
    on (release) {
    attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled1", 5);
    filled1._x = 370;
    filled1._y = 225;
    But I want the user to be able to hit the button again and
    get yet another instance of "filledCircle" on the stage.
    I also want the user to be able to drag these instances
    around...
    Any help would be appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Muhl

    Muhl,
    > I was wondering if there was a way to add several
    > instances of the same movie clip to the stage
    > dynamically utilizing one button.
    Sure thing.
    > I can do one with the following code placed on the
    > button...
    >
    > on (release) {
    > attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled1", 5);
    > filled1._x = 370;
    > filled1._y = 225;
    > }
    Gotcha.
    > But I want the user to be able to hit the button again
    > and get yet another instance of "filledCircle" on the
    > stage.
    You're in luck, because this isn't very hard to do. The main
    thing to
    keep in mind is that each instance must have A) its own
    unique instance name
    and B) its own unique depth. In your example, the instance
    name is filled1
    and the depth is 5. The next clip's instance name should be
    filled2 at a
    depth of 6. Then filled3, depth 7, and so on. You can use a
    single
    variable to handle the incrementation.
    // code in a frame
    var counter:Number = 1;
    // code on your button
    on (release) {
    attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter, counter +
    4);
    With me so far? The variable counter contains the numeric
    value 1. The
    second parameter of attachMovie() is provided with a
    concatenation of
    "filled" + 1, which makes "filled1". The third parameter is
    provided with
    the sum of counter plus 4, which makes 5. Obviously, we need
    a bit more.
    The button must, in addition, increment the value of counter.
    The ++
    operator handles this perfectly.
    on (release) {
    attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter, counter +
    4);
    counter++;
    Now, it seems you also want to position the attached movie
    clip to (370,
    225). Are they call supposed to go to the same place? If so,
    you may use a
    second variable to hold a reference to the newly attached
    clip. Look up
    MovieClip.attachMovie(), and you'll see that the method
    returns the exact
    reference you need.
    // code in a frame
    var counter:Number = 1;
    var mc:MovieClip;
    // code on your button
    on (release) {
    mc = attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter,
    counter + 4);
    counter++;
    mc._x = 370;
    mc._y = 225;
    Make sense?
    > I also want the user to be able to drag these instances
    > around...
    Then you need to handle a few events. You're dealing with
    movie clips
    here, so your best bet is to study up on the MovieClip class,
    which defines
    all movie clips. (Note, also, that the TextField class
    defines all input
    and dynamic text fields; the Sound class defines all sounds,
    etc. This is a
    very handy arrangement of the ActionScript 2.0 Language
    Reference.)
    // code in a frame
    var counter:Number = 1;
    var mc:MovieClip;
    // code on your button
    on (release) {
    mc = attachMovie ("filledCircle", "filled" + counter,
    counter + 4);
    counter++;
    mc._x = 370;
    mc._y = 225;
    mc.onPress = function() {
    this.startDrag();
    mc.onRelease = function() {
    this.stopDrag();
    Easy as that. You're simply assigning a function literal to
    the event
    of each new MovieClip instance as you create it. Take a look
    and you'll see
    each of these class members available to you -- that is, to
    all movie clips.
    MovieClip.onPress, MovieClip.startDrag(), MovieClip._x, etc.
    Wherever it shows the term MovieClip in the Language
    Reference, just
    replace that with the instance name of your clip -- or a
    reference to that
    clip (which even includes the global "this" property).

  • How to load dynamic text inside a movie clip?

    hello all - i have a main stage where on the first frame my
    "home" movie clip displays. i did this by dragging/dropping, and
    then i put a stop action. all works fine.
    inside this home movie clip on the main stage, there are
    links to other movie clips. for example, to get to my faq's page -
    you click that button, then it takes you to frame 4 on my main
    stage, where my faq's movie clip (followed by stop action) has been
    dragged/dropped and displays properly.
    within the faq's movie clip this process is repeated, with
    buttons taking to you various pages (different frames where
    different movie clips play - all works fine).
    so now i want to add a dynamic text field within my faq's
    movie clip. i have read numerous tutorials where i have created the
    text file but i have not been able to display it with success
    within my faqs movie clip.
    here is some code that my dvd tutorial instructs me to place
    on main stage as i practice getting this to work:
    var myMCL:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader ();
    var myListener:Object = new Object();
    myMCL.addListener(myListener);
    var myLV:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    myLV.onLoad = function (success:Boolean) {
    if (success) {
    _level5.loadedInfo.htmlText = myLV.info;
    } else {
    _level5.loadedInfo.text = "There has been an error loading
    the requested information. Please contact the webmaster.";
    and here is some code that i place on the faqs button within
    my main movie clip that takes me back to main stage and plays faq
    movie clip all successfully:
    on (release) {
    //Movieclip GotoAndPlay Behavior
    _root.gotoAndPlay("4");
    //End Behavior
    and finally, here is some code that i place within my faqs
    movie clip in an attempt to display my dynamic text within the faqs
    movie clip - so far unsuccessful:
    _level0.myLV.load("vars/faqs.txt");
    NOTE:
    i have published this to view - not working.
    i have my faqs text file starting as info=
    i have eliminated white space within my text file
    i am using flash 8 pro
    can anyone offer some sugestions? thanks!

    hmmmmm lemme double check as i seem to be a bit lost now.
    // this is my actions layer code on frame 4 of main timeline:
    stop();
    var myLV:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    myLV.onLoad = function (success:Boolean) {
    if (success) {
    _level5.loadedInfo.htmlText = myLV.info;
    } else {
    _level5.loadedInfo.text = "There has been an error loading
    the requested information. Please contact the webmaster.";
    myLV.load("vars/faqs.txt");
    1. fyi - at frame 4 on main timeline, one layer beneath the
    actions layer where i dragged/dropped my faqs movie clip i gave my
    faqs movie clip an instance name of "mainfaqs" - although nowhere
    do i refer to this specific mc within my code.
    2. where would i replace/insert the following code?
    _level0.faq_mc.loadedInfo.text = myLV.info;
    3. i didn't know about embedding font but i saw the option
    and embedded it - still no results.
    4. i'm not sure how to do the following:
    _level5.loadedInfo.text ='test'; //although I would still
    change the path as above
    To see if your getting a return from the load call adn text
    file, use a trace statment before the success condition and see
    what it returns:
    trace(myLV);
    sorry to be such a pain - i really have looked around for
    answers through previous postings and i googled it and i've been
    taking instruction through lynda.com and dvds but i seem to be
    stuck here.... as always - thanks for your time

  • Center movie clips dynamically, as3.0

    Hi.  I have seen this discussed both on Adobe Forums and other sites but I can't seem to make sense of the code supplied by what I have seen thus far.
    I am trying to center display objects that are added to the stage at runtime dynamically through a basic drawing application.
    the code is something like this:
    1. add an event listener for the drawing event.
    2. add the path you want to draw to a container movie clip on the stage.
    3. add an enter-frame event listener to change the scale of the path randomly .... and this is the moment i want to change the default top,left registration point to the center,center of the path.  each path has its own registration point as i can tell thus far but at this point the scale is happening from the top,left of the container rather than about the path's own self.  and if it were to happen about the path i would have to get the bounds of the path and do some averaging to center the registration point.
    unfortunately i don't know what the code looks like to achieve what i'm trying to get.
    any help is appreciated.  thanks in advance.

    Well if using the graphics.lineTo method is Bitmap data then that is what I'm using.  But each call to the shape that I'm drawing is a new Shape(); .  The second paragraph you wrote seems a bit daunting when viewing it in the abstract sense.  Your first reply was a bit more concrete but I guess the first response didn't account for everything being in one container.  Should I create a container2 Movie Clip and create that as a new box on a per-shape basis so that I have multiple container2 mc's in the following path:
    container.container2[i].shape[i] where i would be an index (such that i++) though the code wouldn't be written exactly that way. ?
    (To store localX,Y positions in an array or vector shouldn't be too hard but I would need to try it several times before I get it right).

  • Attaching Dynamic Movie Clips on a Stage Movie Clip

    Hi guys ,
    I am calling more images in dynamic movieclip on the stage
    from XML file and show them on the stage after that evry movieclip
    is draggable and there is lots of labels (movieclips) on which i
    have to drag the images called from xml files and placed on that
    label , label is also draggable once when i placed object on the
    label moviecli then when i drag the label all images placed in side
    the label should also move with the label .
    And there might be more labels and more images , i can place
    any images in a label or more images on different label but will
    work siimilarly described above .
    So please suggest me and help me out ASAP.

    Ok if I understand you, you have several movieclips on the
    stage that are created dynamically. Some of them are called
    "labels" and some are images. You want to drag and drop an image
    onto a label. Then when you do that you want the image to become a
    child movieclip of the label movieclip. That way when you drag the
    label movie clip and all the images inside it will move along with
    it.
    Are the images movieclips as well or are they just images?

  • How can I call in swf file to movie clip?

    Hi all ...
    This is my first post for advise, although fairly conversant
    with flash and as2.
    I am developing a new full screen background style website
    and have menu buttons contained within a movie clip (nav_c1) ...
    this re-aligns to the top centre of a page when user scales the
    browser window.
    I then have the content area (centre_content) movie clip ...
    this realigns to the centre of the page when a user scales the
    browser window.
    I have scripted the menu buttons to goto a labelled frame in
    the main timeline but I need, when at the labelled frame, to be
    able to call/load in an external swf file to play 'inside' the
    centre_content movie clip?
    for example:
    If I click my news button the flash file moves to the frame
    label news on the main timeline. This then shows a duplicate of the
    moive clip 'centre_content' which is called 'centre_news'. I need
    to be able to call/load an external news.swf, containing all the
    animated news info, to sit and play 'within' the movie clip
    'centre_news' ... so that it is effectively contained 'within' the
    movie clip file but loaded in place from an external swf file.
    Can anyone help please?
    I can post a rough working example online if need be.
    Many thanks
    A puzzled Adrian
    ps: I don't think I am needing to load the swf to a level 1
    area as I have tried this and instead of the swf file being loaded
    and contained within my movie clip file/area it instead seems to
    sit fixed on the main timeline (ie: not contained within the movie
    clip area).

    Thanks Sketchsta for you code. This looks like we're on the
    right lines as I see what the code is trying to do.
    Unfortunately though I can't seem to get this to work?
    I created a new file to get rid of other scripting that was
    going on and have placed a movie clip called centre_content onto
    the main timeline in frame 1 ... then I have applied your script to
    an actions frame above the movie clip also on frame 1. I change the
    path_to_file line with my swf name (callin.swf) which is a 1 frame
    flash file with some text on it ...
    ... but it doesn't bring in the callin.swf file ... it just
    shows the centre_content clip.
    Am i doing anything wrong?
    I also tried putting the script onto the first frame inside
    the centre_content movie clip but this doesn't appear to work
    either.
    Regarding the pre-loader ... can I simply build this into the
    swf file that is being called in to the movie clip?
    Thanks in advance for your support, it is much appreciated.
    Adrian

  • How to add button inside move clip and call it from main timeline?

    Hi,
    On the main timeline I  have a movie clip called clock_mc and playBtn
    playBtn is  placed in the center of clock_mc
    When you press playBtn clock_mc starts playing
    playBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playClock);
    function playClock(event:MouseEvent):void
        if (event.target == playBtn)
            clock_mc.play();
            playBtn.visible = false;
            trace ("play button was clicked");
    This is working fine for me.
    But I want to add replayBtn to the last frame of clock_mc and set up the function on main Timeline.
    Another words when the clock_mc rich last frame you see replayBtn.
    code example:
    replayBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playClock);
        if (event.target == replayBtn)
            clock_mc.play();
            replayBtn.visible = false;
            trace ("replay button was clicked");
    I've tryed to placed the replayBtn on the stage on the main timeline and I've set it up to replayBtn.visible = false;
    And then I add replayBtn.visible = true; to last AS frame of clock_mc but it wont work
    Even when I put the button physically to the last frame of clock_mc it will not work either.
    Please help

    I've solved the problem:-)
    I've set replayBtn.visible = false; on first frame of clock_mc
    and  replayBtn.visible = true; at the last frame
    and than as you sugested I'v add:
    clock_mc.replayBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, replayClock);
    function replayClock(event:MouseEvent):void
            clock_mc.play();
            trace ("replay button was clicked");
    I couldn't see replayBtn at the firs stage because I have clockTween assosiated with clock:
    clockTween = new Tween(clock_mc, "x", Regular.easeOut, -469,438, .5, true);
    and I had replyBtn in the wrong place so when clock_mc was coming up on the stage replayBtn was on the left side of the stage :/
    Now I have to solve only one thing.
    Maybe you would have any suggestions please.
    I've set up stop(); in a first frame of clock_mc
    that when you see clock_mc sliding in it has to wait for playBtn to be clicked
    because I have two tween:
            clockTween = new Tween(clock_mc, "x", Regular.easeOut, -469,438, .5, true);
            playTween = new Tween(playBtn, "x", Regular.easeOut, -720,514, .5, true);
            playBtn.visible = true;
    so when you click on playBtn:
    function playClock(event:MouseEvent):void
        if (event.target == playBtn)
            clock_mc.play();
            playBtn.visible = false;
            trace ("play button was clicked");
    everythink is working fine except when I clik on replayBtn it play for I sec because there is stop(); on the first frame of clock_mc

  • Printing a movie clip with dynamic text boxes

    I've got a certificate inside a movie clip, and i want the
    dynamic text box to dispay the user name, but for some reason it is
    coming up undefined, even though i have the dynamic text box set to
    finalname = _root.inputname, but it comes up as undefined on the
    screen. :( Can anyone tell me where i am going wrong?
    Is there a way to print just a specific movie clip on the
    screen? I can only print all the frames in the movie and without
    the dynamic text box... any help would be greatly
    appreciated.

    assign the mouseChildren property of your movieclip to false.
