Dynamically change and re-link shared object

I work on a digital signal processing system that never shuts down. I am trying to develop the capability to dynamically change a processing algorithm. Where can I find more information on how to swap out a function or object method, relink and keep the system going with the new code?

One more thing. This is in C or C++.

Layer Comps should capture changes to a Linked Smart Object's Layer Comp

Normally, I can move things around or change visibility, and use Layer Comps in my master doc to capture these changes.
However, changing which Layer Comp displays from a Linked Smart Object cannot be captured by Layer Comps in my master doc.
Slightly more information: Sorry it's a little convoluted. I have several Linked Smart Objects inside a master doc, and these Smart Objects contain different Layer Comps. It's awesome that I can easily change which Layer Comp each Smart Object displays. But when I make a change, it cascades across the Layer Comps in my master doc. So my master doc's Layer Comps cannot effectively capture a state.
It would be awesome if Layer Comps were able to capture state changes for the display of Linked Smart Object's Layer Comps. #featurerequest

Dynamic datatable and command link

I'm having a problem creating CommandLink's automatically. What we have is a tag, which can contain a set of data. We need this on several locations, so we have to create a datatable dynamically. When you press a link, it should be possible to retrieve the ID of the component on that specific row.
The problem is, we can create the table with the necessary data. When I construct the column with the ID (and the link), it fails.

That expression should be evaluated at runtime and added to the datatable, but that doesn't happen apparently.

I've read your article, but I didn't find anything I could use. Facing a deadline and don't really have time to try out multiple (possible) solutions. The problem is that all the examples I can find point to MethodBinding, but I don't need that. I just need to get the ID of the row that was clicked, nothing more.
This works fine:

I can do getParent().getParent() to get a reference to the DataTable, but the datamodel on that object is empty btw.

Dynamically change a partner link config property via the BPEL Consle

Is it possible to dynamically change a configuration property
for a partnerlink in the BPEL Console?

2. Enter the BPEL Console, click on the process and then the descriptor tab.
3. Not seeing a utility to change the value in the BPEL Console.

the console only allows changes to activation agent properties.
There are two kinds of partnerlinks. Those associated with a receive (inbound, activation), and those associated with an invoke (outbound, webservices invoke). Only the former polling process properties can be configured from the console.
Outbound there are only a handfull of properties and the lifecycle management is not the same.

Dynamically change URL iView link

Hi,
I have a requirement like this:
Button1 would open an external link from Portqal
Button2 would open a KM document from KM
Button3 would open a KM folder
In future the link type of these button can change.
These external link, KM document location and KM folder location are read from a properties file and are subject to change.
Here is my Approach
I have created a separate URL iViews for testing purpose and tested that with URL iView, it is possible to open:
External link in the format of http://www.<link>.com
KM Folder in the format /irj/go/km/navigation/documents/..../<Destination Folder> , &
KM document in the format /irj/go/km/docs/documents/..../<Destination File>
I have now created a single URL iView pointing to a default URL(google), and marked the URL iView parameter Forced URL - Enabled as True
The plan is to use this single iView for invoking any type of links - be it external, KM Folder or KM document
In WebDynpro, I have tried using the following code to call this iView:

Dynamically changed view within a IFrame object in HTML page is not visible in UI Automation tree

Hi,
I have a webpage where are are some links in the top of the page. Then there is a IFrame. When the web page is hit, it opens with a default page in the IFrame. Clicking on each link will load a page in the IFrame alone.
The UI Automation tree detects the controls in the IFrame when application is opened in a new IE page.
I tried to navigate to a new page by clicking on a link and iframe was loaded with the new page.
Then navigating to the iframe in the UI Automation tree i was just able to see a ControlType.Custom control and not able to navigate beyond further.
Note: I just work on the client side and don't have access to the server or the application code.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sync info doesn't stick on desktop and, a link shared on Android FF, where to find on desktop?

If you don't mind, I have two questions. The first is in regards to Firefox Sync on Windows 7 x64. Firefox 19.0.2 Windows will not save my Firefox Sync login. Every time I start my browser I have to put in the username/password/recover key.
Here is the context and what I think might be the cause of my problem. I was using a sync account to sync between Win desktop, Win laptop and a Win work laptop. Sync has been working for years without any issues prior to this, for me. Finally ditched Symbian for Android and I setup Firefox Sync on my Droid phone. Unfortunately, it totally trashed my bookmarks. So I unlinked all my browsers (and Android Firefox), restored my bookmarks from a backup and created a new Sync account to start fresh (to make sure no corrupted data was being synced). Since I did that, Firefox desktop will not save my Sync login info with the new account or the old one. I could rebuild my profile from scratch but I've been using this profile for a few years and rebuilding it will be really time consuming. If I have no choice, I will take the time from my vacation over the Easter break to do it, but man that would really suck as I was planning to leave laptops at home. So I would appreciate any ideas on how I can fix this without having to start from scratch?
My 2nd question is in regards to Firefox Sync on Android. Before I unlinked all my devices from my old Sync account I was playing with the share feature for Firefox Sync and couldn't get it to work. So my question is, If I share a link to "Firefox Sync" on my Droid phone, how do I access that link on a desktop? I couldn't find it anywhere.

You can check for problems with preferences and try to rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default values.

Linked Smart Objects - File Size Question

Hey guys,
first time using linked smart objects and I was pretty excited about it at first. I have a large photoshop file with 1920x1080 image assets. The file size is about 1GB and everytime I make a minor change the entire file has to be re-uploaded to my Dropbox.
So I figured that I could make all these image assets linked smart objects so that I can keep the master file down in file size since most of the actual assets don't change. However, even the PSD that contains nothing by linked smart layer objects is already 400MB large. And that's in addition to the external PSD's it is now linking to.
Even if I duplicate a linked smart layer object in this PSD file it increased the file size by an additional 10MB per duplicate. Is this supposed to happen? Why does it take so much space to just link to external objects? I was super excited about using linked smart layer objects but this doesn't look like it would be helping much to decrease file size.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

thanks again! I guess I just had different expectations. In my mind I was going to see a parent file around 10MB or something with all of the content being dynamically loaded from the linked smart objects.
Maybe that could be a feature requests for future versions.

Forms 2.1 calling shared object libraries

Can Forms 2.1 on Solaris 2.6 make calls to shared object
libraries? What are the limitations / issues?
I have a large legacy COBOL program which I would like to
restructure and capture the business rule implementations into
shared object libraries. I would then like to implement a new UI
(character or GUI) for part of the system in Forms. I would
consider using forms built in features for getting data from the
database but all inserts updates and deletes will go through the
business rule layer implemented in COBOL and deployed as shared
object libraries on unix.
Any and all help is appreciated.

I have used Foreign Function Interface call (FFI) in Forms 5.0
to call function in Dynamic Linking Library (DLL) on Windows/NT.
You may be able to do the same thing (use FFI) to call shared
object libraries on Solaris.

Using Shared Object Libraries

How (or what) do we set when using shared object libraries?
We have Java Native Methods which are implemented using C++ and stored in shared object libraries. We can build our project, but when trying to execute the project, the shared object libraries are not found. We had tried to set the external execution settings to include the library paths, but nothing seems to take affect.
What do we need to set to run with the shared object libraries?

I appreciate your responce, hopefully we'll get this worked out. I will try to give you as much information as I can so you will hopefully understand the problem.
We have added a Library Reference to our project - which is a jar file - this jar file contains our Business Objects which are implemented in Java. Within this Library Reference, there is a Java class which has a Native method. The method is implemented in C++ The C++ implementation of this method is within a C++ shared object library (libname.so).
How do we let Creator know that we need to link in this C++ Shared Object Library at run time?
The Modifers Properties for the method in the library reference are correctly set - that is they are set to Native. For a method within a java element, selecting or un-selecting this modifier simply changes the method declaration. It does not tell Creator where the actual implementation is (shared object library in this case).
As originally stated, we tried to include our shared object library in the Execution Property of the properties window for the Java Element. Here is what we have done so far - all unsuccessful....
Under the External Execution Property - we added the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to our shared object library path. We also selected the Append Environment Variable (set to true). We are not able to modify the Library Path of the External Execution Property - it will not allow changes - all buttons are disabled in the pop up window.
There are no properties for the Internal Execution within the Executor Properties, so there is nothing we can set there.
We have tried to set the Debugger Execution properties in the same manner as the External Execution properties to run the project in Debug mode - and have the same problem - while executing the project, we get the error message which indicates that our shared object library can not be found.
There are no property settings available on the J2EE Server Execution Properties to set.
What do we need to set so that this Shared Object Library will be located during execution of our project under SJSC?

Your Template code is incomplete / corrupted.
That's why you can't edit it.
Try opening your .dwt file in a plain text editor like NotePad. Remove the editable regions from code. Save. Open in DW.
You will need to SaveAs Template (same name as the one used by your child pages). Add editable regions to match the ones in your child pages. Save.

For Text tables, "Reading" the Shared Objects would be easy, but "Updating" would not be that easy.
To update the shared object, you need to open the ojbect for update from all the places from where the text table is being updated. E.g. MAKT from the Material Master (and somewhere else, I don't know).
Shared Objects would be good when you are not dealing with the data which can be directly updated from Production. E.g. Configuration data.

Having problem displaying remote shared objects on flash

For the client side,I am using openlaszlo platform, but using actionscript 3 classes for the shared object implementation. cilent application is connecting to the shared object on the red5 side successfully(as I see on the red5 logs).

When I generate the flash object and try to use this application, nothing is being displayed although there is no problem on this issue on the development enviroment. Problem causes when I try to run the swf10 flash object.
Is this maybe a flash security issue? Although I have added the corresponding locations as the trusted location on the flash settings manager. Still problem goes on. And I think this is not about the flash player, it might be a special problem about the flash object.

i can even gointo firefox and chrome and save the shared object. then open my i.e and see that object in the results page. but if i save the shared object in i.e it throws that error on the results page. So i'm pretty sure it must be the flushing of the object. Pasting my save code below:

Dynamic Shared Object - Is This Possible?

What I want in my app is to have 2 tilelists and an array collection of items which will populate the first tilelist and these objects can be dragged between both tilelists. Then the user can click a save button which will save the statuses of both tilelists so the items that are present/not present in each tilelist when the app is closed will still be there when the app is restarted.
The problem is I want my array collection to be populated dynamically from mysql data on a server.
I have no problem getting dynamic data from a mysql database into an array colllection via http request and I have no problem getting the shared object to work IF the array collection is defined within the app the usual way but I'm having trouble getting these 2 things to work together.
Can anybody tell me if it is indeed possible to have a dynamically populated array collection stored as a shared object on the user's system and would anyone be willing to help me out if I post my code so far? Cheers.

Hi Greg. The way I usually post code is by clicking the small arrows above and then clicking syntax highlighting and then xml. The problem is this seems to remove all of the quotation marks ("") from my code which is what is causing the errors you mentioned. I've posted it below just by simply copying and pasting.
