Dynamically Creating Bounded taskflow

Hi
Is there any option to create bounded taskflow dynamically that is through coding not by wizard. I have some java utility and by passing it taskflow name and jsff name it automatically create bounded taskflow.

Yes I want to create bounded task flow. I want to dynamically bind page fragment to links in menu without manually creating there bounded taskflow.
My Use case is that I have DB driven menu. I have hundred page fragment which I have to call from that menu in dynamic region. I don't want to manually create bounded task flow to open page fragment in region. I want to read form name from database and automatically create bounded task flow for that page automatically if it is not created. Otherwise I have to create these hundred or may be more bounded task flow manually and set task flow id to open particular page fragment.
or
Is there any other good way to dynamically bind page fragment to command links in menu.

  • Jdev 12.1.2.0.0: Bounded taskflow not listed in Regions in Components pallette

    Using jdev versino 12.1.2.0.0. Created a project (Provider.jpr) with a bounded task flow. Created file system. Added this project's jar as ADF library to another consuming project (Consumer.jpr).Now when I open a jspx within Consumer, and open Components pallette, > select Provider.jar from dropdown, in the Regions section, the bounded taskflow is not listed.
    However, when adfc-config is opened, the bounded taskflow shows up in Components palette when the jar is selected. Is this a bug or is there a change in behavior from the previous versions?

    Hi,
    Is it that technology support in ADF is Jdev-dependent. I mean when we say Jdev 12C do we mean it carries ADF-enhancements? Is there any clear and concise documentation of the changes from 11g to 12c.
    Yes it is as each JDeveloper release is an evolution in technology. JDeveloper 12c and 11g R2 both support JavaServer Faces 2 which actually introduced Facelets. So its not necessarily a new feature enforced by JDeveloper but the current standard of JSF. Furthermore the JSF standard will continue with Facelets so that it makes sense to adopt Facelets for new application developments (or in 12c to migrate existing JSPX projects to facelets, which is supported declaratively)

  • Using wildcard in return activity in bounded taskflow

    This is my situation:
    I have a page to which the user may only navigate through a router activity, and I want the user to be authenticated too. So I thought I'd set the router activity (and a filter) and the page inside a bounded taskflow.
    But now I have a problem exiting the bounded taskflow. I don't want to specify all the possible outcomes and create different return activities. I have tabs on each page and I want the user to be able to click a tab and go to that page. But when I set a wildcard the navigation doesn't work.
    What does work is this:
        <control-flow-rule id="__22">
          <from-activity-id id="__23">rr_start</from-activity-id>
          <control-flow-case id="__25">
            <from-outcome id="__28">toAvIndex</from-outcome>
            <to-activity-id id="__24">returnFromStartFlow</to-activity-id>
          </control-flow-case>
        </control-flow-rule>
        <task-flow-return id="returnFromStartFlow">
          <outcome id="__21">
            <name>toAvIndex</name>
          </outcome>
        </task-flow-return>But this allows me only to navigate to AvIndex and I have 4 more pages I want to navigate to.
    What I would like to have is this:
        <control-flow-rule id="__22">
          <from-activity-id id="__23">rr_start</from-activity-id>
          <control-flow-case id="__25">
            <from-outcome id="__28">*</from-outcome>
            <to-activity-id id="__24">returnFromStartFlow</to-activity-id>
          </control-flow-case>
        </control-flow-rule>
        <task-flow-return id="returnFromStartFlow">
          <outcome id="__21">
            <name>*</name>
          </outcome>
        </task-flow-return>and let the unbounded taskflow check the outcome and do the navigation. Could this be possible?

    Wendy,
    have you considered to use a taskflow template for the navigation and use this template for your taskflows?
    Only other thing which come to mind is to set a parameter from inside your flow and check this parameter in a method in the parent flow to decide where to go.

  • How can we use Bounded Taskflow in another project.

    Greetings!
    Suppose we have 2 projects: projectA and projectB.
    In projectB we have 4 bounded taskflows: T1, T2, T3, T4.
    In projectA we have a view with a dynamic region, text input for digits and a command button.
    How can we fill our dynamic region with taskflows from projectB, by typing a number of it and pressing a button.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Yes, I know.
    However, I'm under the impression that this is not the preferred method. All the documentation describe the ADF library method and I cannot find any description about putting them in a separate project.
    All said, it seems to kind of work, using the 'jar dependencies', except for taskflows with a nested taskflow from another project. An I still need to import them as adf library.
    We'd like to develop our taskflows separately using a short development lifecycle. Putting each of them in a separate application and publish and import them in the main application seems to be too complicated and takes to much time, everytime.
    Am I correct that the shortest development lifecycle is to have all the taskflows in our webapplication, and have full debug and hot-swap functionality?
    Ciao

  • How get context value form a dynamic created node

    Hi all,
    I have build my own dynamic view. In this view I use also a dynamic created Node. When I have more rows in my Node I see every row with context of the last row of the dynamic Node.
    this is the source I use.
    for (int x = 0; x < dynTabNode.size(); x++)
      dynTabNode.setLeadSelection(x);
      IWDGroup group = (IWDGroup)view.getElement("Group_name");
      IWDAttributeInfo aiName = wdContext.getChildNode("DayNode", IWDNode.LEAD_SELECTION).getNodeInfo().getAttribute("Name");
      IWDCaption name = (IWDCaption) view.createElement(IWDCaption.class, null);
      name.bindText(aiName);
      group.addChild(name);
      for (int i = 8; i < 18; i++)
        int teller = i * 100;
        IWDGroup group1 = (IWDGroup)view.getElement("hour" + teller);
        for (int z = 0; z < 12; z++)
          IWDImage image = (IWDImage) view.createElement(IWDImage.class, "Image" + teller + "_" + x);
          image.setWidth("10");
          image.setHeight("24px");
          image.setBorder(0);
          IWDAttributeInfo att = dynTabNode.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("hour" + teller);
          image.bindSource(att);
          group1.addChild(image);
          teller = teller + 5;
    How can I read my Node row for row?

    The reason is that all these Caption UI elements are bound against the same context attribute. At runtime this will be resolved to the attribute value of the lead-selected node element. In this example you can fix this by not binding the "text" property but setting it to the attribute value of the iterated node element:
    for (int x = 0; x < dynTabNode.size(); x++)
      dynTabNode.setLeadSelection(x);
      IWDGroup group = (IWDGroup)view.getElement("Group_name");
      IWDCaption name = (IWDCaption) view.createElement(IWDCaption.class, null);
      IWDNode dayNode = wdContext.getChildNode("DayNode", IWDNode.LEAD_SELECTION);
      String text = (String) dayNode.getElementAt(x).getAttributeValue("Name");
      name.setText(text);
      IWDAttributeInfo aiName = dayNode.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("Name");
      name.bindText(aiName);
      group.addChild(name);
    (I assume here that the node "DayNode" has the same size as dynTabNode. No idea if this assumption is correct)
    But this would not help for editable elements where you need to bind the edited property.

  • Dynamically create TRAY view element.

    I am trying to create a little menu using a stack of trays with related buttons under each tray.
    I cannot find an example of a dynamically created tray.  Every instance of NEW_TRAY in my NW07 system is generated and the system won't show it to me so I can't see how to use it.
    The problem that I get is an assertion failure after a test 'IF VIEW_ELEMENT IS NOT BOUND.'  Obviously I have a null reference somewhere, but with no documentation (that I can find) I need an example.
    I would settle for any container-like object at all.  Doesn't have to be a tray.  I cannot even get it to work with a transparent container.  You can't even see it - so how can it be complicated?
    Please form an orderly line, and no fighting to be first with the solution!
    Russ.

    Hello Russ,
    I have used a container in the message area. Have a look at CL_WDR_MESSAGE_AREA~CREATE_MSG_LIST for example.

  • Finding Component on Dynamically Created UI

    I am having a hard time regarding finding a particular component in my managed bean if your UI is dynamically created (say using an iterator..) especially
    if you need that component during PPR.
    As of the moment, I am doing this but its really ugly and is bound to be broken if I add another layout.
    public void handleChange(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
         UIComponent component = valueChangeEvent.getSource().getParent().getChildren().get(0).getChildren().getFacet("end").get(0).getChildren().get(1);
         AdfFacesContext context = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
         context.addPartialTarget(component);
    }This code wont work also, since at runtime, I wouldnt know the id of the component.
    FacesContext facesCtx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    facesCtx.getViewRoot().findComponent(name) ; Been thinking about this for sometime now. Help needed.

    you can use this instead
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().findComponent("<id>);
    or
    // used to locate region. Could also find any component
    // located in the base ViewRoot()
    public static UIComponent findComponentInRoot(String id) {
    UIComponent component = null;
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (facesContext != null) {
    UIComponent root = facesContext.getViewRoot();
    component = findComponent(root, id);
    return component;

  • Dynamically create context menu

    I'm trying to create a context menu based on a certain af:commandImageLink.
    I have an af:popup with an af:menu in my page. I bound the af:menu to my bean so I can change the content. I didn't put any children in the menu to start because I want to add the children based on the image that's click.
    I added an af:showPopupBehavior to show my popup on click. The idea was that I wanted to use the actionListener of the af:commandImageLink to dynamically create the menu that I need. But it seems that the actionListener fires after the showPopupBehavior most times. On the first click, it looks like the actionListener fires first then the showPopupBehavior. After that, it seems the actionListener always fires after.
    So it looks like this is not really supposed to work.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how this should be made to work?

    Thanks a lot Timo,
    This does allow me to control when the popup shows up.
    I modified the code you gave slightly to include code to align the popup:
        public static void showPopup(String popupId, String alignId) {
            FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            StringBuilder script = new StringBuilder();
            script.append("var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('").append(popupId).append("'); ").append("if (!popup.isPopupVisible()) { ")
                .append("var hints = {}; ").append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN_ID] = '").append(alignId).append("'; ")
                .append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN] = AdfRichPopup.ALIGN_AFTER_END; ").append("popup.show(hints);}");
            ExtendedRenderKitService erks = Service.getService(context.getRenderKit(), ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
            erks.addScript(context, script.toString());
        }I still have some problems though. I need to give some more context on this.
    So I have an af:iterator that shows a list of images. I'm trying to popup a context menu when they click the image. The menu needs to be aligned relative to the image that was clicked.
    However, when I tried to get the ID from the ActionEvent, I get the design time ID which should not be the same as the run time ID because the iterator would have created multiple instances of the image, each with a unique ID. I'm assuming that's why the alignment is not working.
    Am I missing something here?
    Also, I seem to be having problems with modifying the menu. Here's my bean code:
        private RichMenu baseMenu;
        public void imageActionListener(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
            Object o = actionEvent.getComponent();
            RichCommandImageLink image = (RichCommandImageLink)o;
            DCIteratorBinding iteLoc = ADFUtils.findIterator("OpItemLocationsVO2Iterator");
            for(Row row : iteLoc.getAllRowsInRange()) {
                OpItemLocationsVORowImpl r = (OpItemLocationsVORowImpl)row;
                RichCommandMenuItem a = new RichCommandMenuItem();
                Number n = r.getItelocId().getSequenceNumber();
                a.setId("i" + r.getItelocId().getSequenceNumber().toString());
                a.setText(r.getItelocId().getSequenceNumber().toString());
                baseMenu.getChildren().add(a);
            AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(baseMenu);
            showPopup("vmenu", image.getId());
        }So in my popup, I added a menu and I bound that menu to this bean. The idea was that whenever an image was clicked, I would remove all the children from the menu, then add the new ones. There would be a master-detail relationship between the image's iterator and the menu that's supposed to show up.
    The other problems that I'm getting with this is that the menu is not changing when I click on a different image. When I debug, I'll see the correct values being added, but nothing changes on the screen. It's always showing the first popup that was ever created. Also, I don't know how to remove the previous children. There doesn't seem to be an API to remove the children.
    Thoughts?

  • Problem with embeding the same view in dynamically created view container

    Hello Experts,
                  I am getiing a dump when i try to embed the same view inside the dynamically created view container of
    dynamically created tabs of a tabstrip
    The requirement go like this, i have 2 views in which i have have to embed the 2nd view to view1 where i have an empty
    tabstrip without tabs. During runtime i create tabs as well as view containers accordingly and then try to embed view2 in tabs.
    I have put the below mentioned code in HANDLEIN,
      DATA: lref_vcntlr  TYPE REF TO if_wd_view_controller,
            lref_comp    TYPE REF TO if_wd_component_usage,
            lv_embed_pos TYPE string.
      lref_vcntlr = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
      lv_embed_pos = 'FILE_PERS_EDIT/VC_GENERAL'.
      TRY.
          CALL METHOD lref_vcntlr->do_dynamic_navigation
            EXPORTING
              source_window_name        = 'FILE_PERSISTENCE_WND'          " Window
              source_vusage_name        = 'FILE_PERS_EDIT_USAGE_1'       " Source View usage
              source_plug_name          = 'TO_EDIT_LAYOUT'                       " Outbound plug
              target_view_name          = 'PERS_EDIT_LAYOUT'                  " Second view to be embedded
              target_plug_name          = 'IN'                                                  " Second view inboun plug
              target_embedding_position = lv_embed_pos
            RECEIVING
              component_usage           = lref_comp.
        CATCH cx_wd_runtime_repository .
      ENDTRY.
      wd_this->fire_to_edit_layout_plg( ).
    This works fine for the first time.
    However onaction tab select i change the embeding position( 'FILE_PERS_EDIT/view container name of different tab') of the view2 an try to embed view2 in a different tab.
    At this point i get a dump stating View2 already present in the window 'FILE_PERSISTENCE_WND' of component.
    I think, the view2 embediing has to be removed before i add the view2 in a different tab
    Kindly let me know how to remove view2 embedding from tab1 before i add a view2 to a different tab or is there any other
    means to handle this problem?
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Srini.

    Hello Srini,
    I found a solution to your problem, because I had a similar task.
    In WDDOINIT I changed the method do_dynamic_navigation to if_wd_navigation_services_new~prepare_dynamic_navigation:
    DATA:
        l_view_controller_api TYPE REF TO if_wd_view_controller.
      l_view_controller_api = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
      TRY.
          CALL METHOD l_view_controller_api->if_wd_navigation_services_new~prepare_dynamic_navigation
            EXPORTING
              source_window_name        = 'WDW_MAIN'
              source_vusage_name        = 'VW_SUB_USAGE_1'
              source_plug_name          = 'TO_VW_CONTENT'
              target_component_name     = 'ZTEST_DYNAMIC'
              target_view_name          = 'VW_CONTENT'
              target_plug_name          = 'DEFAULT'
              target_embedding_position = 'VW_MAIN/VC_TAB.VW_SUB/TAB1_VC'
            RECEIVING
              repository_handle         = wd_this->g_rep_handle.
        CATCH cx_wd_runtime_repository .
      ENDTRY.
      wd_this->fire_to_vw_content_plg( param1 = 'TAB1' ).
    In the action I first deleted the navigation targets, then navigated to the empty-view and last I called my target view:
      DATA:
        lv_position           TYPE string,
        l_view_controller_api TYPE REF TO if_wd_view_controller,
        lr_view_usage         TYPE REF TO if_wd_rr_view_usage,
        lr_view_***_t         TYPE wdrr_vca_objects,
        lr_view_***           LIKE LINE OF lr_view_***_t.
      l_view_controller_api = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
      lr_view_usage = wd_this->g_view->get_view_usage( ).
      lr_view_usage->delete_all_navigation_targets( plug_name = 'TO_VW_CONTENT' ).
      CLEAR lv_position.
      CONCATENATE 'VW_MAIN/VC_TAB.VW_SUB/' old_tab '_VC' INTO lv_position.
      TRY.
          l_view_controller_api->if_wd_navigation_services_new~do_dynamic_navigation(
          source_window_name = 'WDW_MAIN'
          source_vusage_name = 'VW_SUB_USAGE_1'
          source_plug_name   = 'TO_EMPTYVIEW'
          target_component_name = 'ZTEST_DYNAMIC'
          target_view_name   = 'EMPTYVIEW'
          target_plug_name   = 'DEFAULT'
          target_embedding_position = lv_position ).
        CATCH cx_wd_runtime_repository.
      ENDTRY.
      CLEAR lv_position.
      CONCATENATE 'VW_MAIN/VC_TAB.VW_SUB/' tab '_VC' INTO lv_position.
      TRY.
          wd_this->g_rep_handle = l_view_controller_api->if_wd_navigation_services_new~prepare_dynamic_navigation(
            source_window_name = 'WDW_MAIN'
            source_vusage_name = 'VW_SUB_USAGE_1'
            source_plug_name   = 'TO_VW_CONTENT'
            target_component_name = 'ZTEST_DYNAMIC'
            target_view_name   = 'VW_CONTENT'
            target_plug_name   = 'DEFAULT'
            target_embedding_position = lv_position ).
        CATCH cx_wd_runtime_repository.
      ENDTRY.
      wd_this->fire_to_vw_content_plg( param1 = tab ).
    Ann.: I my example, I had 3 views: VW_MAIN which embedds VW_SUB. VW_SUB has the tabs in it and VW_SUB embedds VW_CONTENT.

  • Is there a way to use a statically defined appearance stream in a dynamically created annotation?

    Hello,
    I want to create a document with cascading 'popups'.  Not the built-in text-only popup, but an annotation containing an appearance stream that defines text and images.  I'm currently using widget annotations based on a pushbutton field.
    Each page in my document has many citations that refer to other pages in the document.  When a user hovers over the citation, I want a 'popup' to appear containing a depiction of the destination.  However, as the destination will itself have citations, I also want the 'popup' to contain citations that the user can hover over, triggering another popup, etc.  In this way, a user could navigate throughout the document without leaving the page or even clicking the mouse.
    Obviously, with even a modest number of citations per page, pre-calculating and statically defining all of these widgets causes a combinatorial explosion, making the document sluggish and very large.
    Instead, I'd like to statically define appearance streams once per document, and then dynamically create annotations and assign the appropriate appearance stream using JS as the user navigates.
    So far I've created a named AP in the names dictionary, but I haven't been able to use it to dynamically set an appearance stream of a dynamically created widget annotation.
    Also, I've called Doc.getIcon(), passing in the named AP, which returns an Icon object.  However, after field.buttonSetIcon() and passing in the named AP, the button does not display the icon.
    Is there a way to use a statically defined appearance stream in a dynamically created annotation?
    Thank you,
    Dave

    Hi George, I've gotten named APs to work, and I expect hidden buttons will follow.  Thank you very much!
    Quick follow-up - I will have many documents embedded within the same pdf file, and some of these documents will contain identical popups.  However, I don't want to store identical icons in each document on account of file size.
    Instead, I'd like to store one instance of each icon for all documents in the file.
    Can I store all of the icons in a single document, and then access them by calling <DocName>.getField().getIcon() from any document in the file?
    Thank you again,
    Dave

  • How to get the co-ordinates of a dynamically created input field

    Hello Frn's
    i have created a dynamic text view . but this text view is not appearing at proper position . I want palce it infront of a dynamically created input field . how can i do this ?
    as i am thinking ...i should first of all  get info about the co-ordinates of   dynamaclly creatd input field . and with respect to these co-ordinates ...set the position of  text View .
    Please suggest  your thoughts .
    Thanks and Regards
    Priyank Dixit

    Hi,
    There is no provision in WD for getting screen coordinates and then placing the UI element.
    You to add the UI element to layout editor and based on the layout type it will add the UI element to respective position.
    I would advice not to create dynamic UI elements( instead you can create them statically and then play with visibility status through context binding ). This will be more effective way and less error prone. This is also recommended practice.
    still,For dynamic creation you can refer to following wiki:

  • How dynamically create connection pool and Datasource

    Hi
    How I can dynamically create a connection pool and Data source in Oracle 10g Application server. In our J2EE application the user will be login with db user name, password and database name. I want to create connection pool and data source on the fly while login the user with database name. I our application we have access approximate 80 Databases. so my approach is given bellow
    1) Planning to create 80 connection pools and 80 Data sources so when user logs in while selecting the db name i will call the appropriate data source and create the DB connection. Is there any limitation to create number of data sources in oracle app server?
    2) Create DB connection with out using connection pool and data source. But i am not prefer this approach coz we need to handle some transaction in our application.
    Kindly throw some light on managing connection pool programmatically or in application run time.
    I would really appreciate if any one can provide any links or any inormation on this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Kindly let me know is there any drawbacks to create 80 Data Sources to connect 80 database in Oracle 10G App server and each data sources should have one connection pool. so i need to create 80 connection pool. Please let me know is this right approach or any work around to create Data source on fly for each request for corresponding database.

    v_seq_name := 'seq_'||loadid||v_table_name;
    execute immediate 'CREATE SEQUENCE '||v_seq_name||' MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 999999999999999999999999999 START WITH 1 increment by 1 cache 20';
    and now after doing some operations i need to assign the current value of sequence to a number variable i tried following but not working
    1) v_curr_value : = v_seq_name.currval ;
    2) select v_seq_name||'.nextval' into v_curr_value from dual;
    can you please suggest me how i can get the value in plsql block.

    Having said that, your architecture is probably wrong if you are dynamically creating things in a procedure.
    Why do you need to create them dynamically?

  • Opening a bounded taskflow in a new browser window.

    Hello,
    I have links in my application that open the application in a new browser window.
    window.open(/MFRAME/faces/adf.task-flow?adf.tfId=moduleDataMan&adf.tfDoc=/WEB-INF/flows/moduleDataMan/moduleDataMan.xml, "w"+new Date().getTime());
    When I open the link in the new window all beans become with null values.
    It used to work before a big list of bug fixes. But somehow this broke. Any ideas what can be the issue. No errors in the log when I open a new window. The old window is working without problems. Only one of the bounded taskflows is working after open in a new window.
    Any ideas.
