Dynamically determine encoding from XSQL

Hi,
I'm using the XSQL servlet to generate XML pages from DB queries and external XSL. The problem is, that these pages may have different character encodings. (One might be ISO-8859-1, another one ISO-8859-5 etc.)
The prblem is: Normally, the encoding is set in the XSL, and there's no way to change it dynamically in there.
Since it's all the same content, just in different language, I don't want to resort to using multiple XSL-versions for the different encodings, because that way I'd have to maintain 3 sets of pages that are essentially the same except for the encoding tags.
I'm calling the Oracle processor from a JSP page to process the data. Is there a way to dynamically specify the encoding based on JSP session parameters?

No, but you can simplify your problem by doing the following:

<xsl:stylesheet ...>

<xsl:template ...>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

<xsl:stylesheet ...>

<xsl:import href="base.xsl"/>

<xsl:output encoding="ISO-XXXX"/>
</xsl:stylesheet>
Repeat to handle other encodings.
You still have multiple stylesheets,
but only one place to worry about
managing your templates.

Is there a way to dynamically determine the IN/OUT parameters based on the procedure name in the stmt parameter? No members of the CallableStatement class seemed promising, but the getParameterMetaData() method in the PreparedStatement class seemed like it could be helpful lead. However, I have not found any detailed descriptions (yet) of how to use it.

The PreparedStatement.getParameterMetaData() object is exactly what you need for this task.
Once you have the ParameterMetaData you can ask it how many parameters are present and which mode they are. The parameters are numbered from 1 to n and you can use ParameterMetaData.getParameterMode(1); to get the mode of the 1st parameter. How to dynamically determine Receivers within BPM

Im trying to design a way to determine my receivers within my BPM process during runtime.   My Scenario is as follows:
SAP IDOC
    V
XI
             XI uses JAVA Mapping MT1 to determine vendors and if customer receives PIDX
                         JAVA Mapping MT2 to creates the PIDX output file if required
V
SENDs to required Vendor (PIDX if required otherwise email)
My problem is how to dynamically determine the appropriate receiving vendor for my PIDX.
I can not use the condition editor on the standard Receiver Determination because the output message (PIDX) doesn't have specific enough information to determine the vendor.
Other than the customer number there are no other values and we don't want to use customer number because each vendor can have multiple customer numbers (hundreds).
I've tried various attempts but none seem to work. This could also be because I have limited knowledge of BPMs and this is my first complex development. Below are the different attempts I've made at dynamically determining the receiver. Any input would be appreciated.
Receiver Scenario 1
I developed an interface mapping with MT1 as input and the SAP Receiver Determination as output. The problem is for me to use this, the interface mapping had to reference the PIDX output (MT2 instead of MT1) which has no data that I can use to determine the receiver.
Receiver Scenario 2
I added a receiver step right before my send step and used the receiver list. This appears to send the PIDX to everyone in the list and there is no way to evaluate or eliminate a name from the list.
Receiver Scenario 3
I created a context object in the Integration Builder and assigned it to a field in MT1. I then added a switch step with a branch for each vendor. Within each specific branch there is a Send step that has the context object name I created in the "Send Context" field. However, on the configuration side Im unable to access the context object which I created on the design side. Whenever I open the condition editor and select the radiobutton for "Context Object" the list does not include the context object I created in the Integration Builder.

Maybe based on certain field values you can write a UDF which calculates the receiver.

Media Encoder From AP-Pro not working

Hi,
I'm trying to export a premiere pro file, I go through the "export settings" like normal and then "ok", it goes to "exporting data" but then doesn't go anywhere.
Normally it should access the "Adobe Media Encoder" but it does nothing. When I try to access "Adobe media encoder from the programs it comes up with the error message:
"Adobe Media Encoder.exe - Entry Point Not Found" - "The procedure entry point ??0NewHandlerInitializer@ErrorManager@config@@QAE@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library dvacore.dll".
So I'm guessing it needs reinstalling but where do I get it from? It is not in the Premiere setup files and it's not on the adobe website, only the updates are.
I'm using Windows XP and AP-Pro CS4

Just had the same problem. I have had cs2 cs3 and cs4 on the same PC Windows XP Pro.
The exact error message as the o.p. was appearing during export from Premier and when opening Encore.
I was able to resolve this issue after weeks by simply ...
Close all Adobe programs and restart computer.
Go to Windows>Control Panel>Adobe Version Cue CS4
Adobe Version Cue Server window will appear.
Make sure your firewall is not blocking Version Cue or Adobe Updater.
Click Updates tab.
Click "Check for Updates" button.
Adobe Updater will connect with the update server. Click Details.
Checkmark Media Encoder and Photoshop Media Encoder.
Download the latest Adobe Media Encoder updates.

Calling a servlet from XSQL

Has anyone successfully called a servlet from xsql? If you have, have you called one from the href in the xsl:stylesheet?

Are you trying to using a servlet to return a dynamically-constructed stylesheet in the role of:

If not, can you expound on what you're trying to achieve/accomplish?

Dynamically determine location for a file relatively to current CLASSPATH

I am quite new to Java and I have a problem.
I am trying to write a program that can dynamically determine the location of a file (the class that handles this will only have the relative path/file name).
Eg.
File f = new File(config/MyMainCfg.file);
The class will then need to be "smart" enough to locate the file "config/MyMainCfg.file" in relative to the current CLASSPATH.
Hence, if the current CLASSPATH is /usr/local/myclasspath, then the file should be able to be located at "/usr/local/myclasspath/config/MyMainCfg.file".
My main question is:
(1) If the CLASSPATH contains multiple values (i.e. CLASSPATH=path_1:path_2:path_3), how do I correctly determine the current CLASSPATH that the currently executing program is using?

I have a method that does something like that. A few lines of it below:

XI - Dynamically Determine System Details in User Functions

Hello.
Does anybody know how to dynamically determine the logon information for the statement JCO.Client mConnection = JCO.createClient() from a user defined function in XI?
Within a mapping I have written a user defined function to call a function module on ECC but as the system details are 'hard-coded' the incorrect system is called once the interface is promoted from the DEV system. I am not able to modify the user function code for each system as we transport the interfaces between systems which are locked and as such code the builder objects cannot be modified . I desperately need a method of determining which logon details should be used and I would prefer the solution to be within the user defined function.

Why are you using JCOs directly? It is not advisable to do so. You can/have to use the RFC Lookup API to achieve this.

Dynamic Error Message from a Bundle Showed in a rich:fileUpload

Hello.
There is a way to show a dynamic error message from a bundle (i.e, There is a problem in the word {0} in line {1}.) in a rich:fileUpload after the Managed Bean method in fileUploadListener="#{MyManagedBean.myMethod}" attribute was performed? That's because the error message parameters are discovered only after the MyManagedBean.myMethod execution.
As far I know, I'm able only to show a static message with transferErrorLabel="#{myBundle.myErrorMessage}" attribute.

I already tried that. I put a navigation-rule in faces-config.xml to the same page of the rich:fileUpload, but the rich:fileUpload component doesn't starts a get or a post request. So the navigation-rule is ignored and the page wasn't rendered again.
I also tried to put the <a4j:support ...> in the rich:fileUpload to re-render the <h:messages ...> component, but didn't work too. The <h:messages ...> wasn't re-render.

Get the ID of a dynamically created symbol from library, INSIDE another symbol.

I'm trying to get the id from a dynamic created symbol from library.
When dynamically creating the symbol directly on the stage (or composition level), there's no problem.
But I just can't get it to work when creating the symbol inside another symbol.
Below some examples using both "getChildSymbols()" and "aSymbolInstances"

Could it be this only works on the stage/ composition level only and not inside a symbol?
The following methods to achieve the same are indeed possible, but i simply DON'T want to use them in this case:
1) Storing a reference of the created symbol in an array and call it later by index.
2) Giving the items an ID manually on creation and use document.getElementById() afterwards.
I can't believe this isn't possible. I am probably missing something here.
Forgive me I am a newbie using Adobe Edge!

In this way (correct me if i'm wrong) you have to give it an unique ID yourself. In a (very) big project this isn't the most practical way.
Although I know it is possible.
Now when Edge creates a symbol dynamically on the Stage (or composition level) or inside another symbol it always gives the symbol an ID like "eid_1391853893203".
I want to reuse this (unique) ID given by Edge after creation.
If created on the stage directly you can get this ID very easy. Like this;

Dynamic parameter selection from infoview not storing the sql password

We are having the problem of dynamic parameter selection from infoview not storing the sql password as it does for the actual report. We are using Crystal Reports XI Release 2 version 11.5.3.438 (Not sure of SP level, asked in separate thread).
To be more specific.
We have created a report that dynamically populates the parameters of the report by pulling the records from the Informix sql database and allowing selection from there.
In the Central Management Console for the report object we have set as follows:
Process - Database:
Use original database logon information from the report - the sql username and pw etc
Use same database logon as when report is run
Process - Parameters
In selecting a default selection there is the option to put in the sql password, however, this does not stick and clears after update.
As such the end result is that every time this report is run from infoview and a user chooses a parameter (there are 5), crystal goes through some timeout for about a minute or so and then requests the sql password, if a user then selects the next parameter, the same timeout and password dialog appears.
We need the crystal report to handle to the sql password for fetching the parameters as well as for the database section of running the report, however, the parameters insists on the end user always putting the password in.
This is 100% replicatable on our system.
Any way that we can fix this?
Will an update fix this issue? If so could you please advise which one?

1. If you align naming conventions between data and your application - reading data could be practically a one-liner.
If you write pafh["id_" + i] (with small case i) instead of pafh["Id_" + i] (with capital case I) the function can be just:

I have a scenario wherein based on a particular KeyField, I need to dynamically determine the IDOC. I haven't used BPM before and I don't know whether this scenario is feasible using BPM.
My approach is creating a data type for the source which will have common fields of both the IDOCs. This data type will hold the data sent by the sender system. Thereafter, I would create 2 message interfaces for each IDOC. Subsequent Message Mapping and Interface Mapping will also be done. In BPM based on the KeyField, I will determine the Message Interface dynamically and post it to the target system.
Kindly advice whether the above approach is right. Is this scenario possible without using BPM. If so, kindly suggest how to proceed.

Is there any possibilites of coming both the idoc data ? If so, you can do as following.
As you are going to execute 1:N mapping, it is required to have BPM here. (and one more reason is Idoc adapter is not a part of J2EE engine.)
