Dynamically sizing the flash window

I would like to be able to run my Flash at 600 X 600 until it
ends then change it to 100 X 100.
Is this possible? If so how do I do it?
I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

Have flash call the javascript that resizes it on the html
page. This is a weird request so it will probably require some
crazy javascript on the html page to resize the swf. I have seen
the ability to change to full screen, so it seems possible.

  • After viewing a site with a flash window in it, the next site shows a blank rectangle where the flash window of the previous site was. This persists through all subsequent sites. How can I eliminate this flash window persistence?

using the latest Firefox Beta, after opening Shambhala.org site, the flash window shows up as a blank rectangle on subsequent sites. I am using Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard. The only way I can get rid of the blank rectangle is to restart Firefox.

That sounds like a known problem on OS X. From the known issues section of the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0b5/releasenotes/ Firefox 4 Beta 5 Release Notes]
"Plugin content can be rendered incorrectly leaving blank white squares over web content. Scrolling or switching tabs will often fix the problem, although sometimes you must close the tab which contains that plugin content (see [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=592453 bug 592453])"
This should be fixed in the next beta.

  • Flash animations are out of the flash window limit ...

When I place a flash animation in power point using breeze
presenter, and I publish the presentation it is possible to see the
animations that are out of the flash window limit …
What can I do to make the breeze respect the flash limits and
hide the animations outside those limits?
    Thanks!

Just out of curiosity....is it possible that you've got
elements in flash that begin OFF the flash stage and then animate
    ONTO it?
There was a *funky* artifact of creating flash animations
that played very strangely when imported into Breeze; there was a
tech note about this, but I haven't found it recently. If your
flash animation *must* be 200 x 200, then what I'd try is this:
In flash, create a mask layer and be sure to have all other
layers become masked by it. I realize that without seeing your
animation, that it's probably "easier said than done"... However,
the thing to note here is that by masking the stage in flash (and
thus all the elements animated within it), you'll effectively kill
the visibility of all visual elements that are off the stage.
For what it's worth, I'd be happy to assist if you need
further help. Just drop me a note using the private message
function, or email me at [email protected]

  • Sizing the Flash Movie Window  with HTML

    Hello,
I don't know why I'm having such a problem with this, but I'm
trying to open my Flash Player in a locked dimention (600 x 450).
what's happening is an <a href is opening the html file
published with the swf... which in turn of course launches the
swf... I've been trying to make the swf pop up at 600x450 but so
far no luck. It just pops up as the same size as the previous
window. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? oh, i'd also like to
have the swf pop up without the menus/toolbars/etc.
    Thanks!

You don't say or show what you've tried, so it's difficult to
    show what
    you've done wrong.
From your description it sounds like you want to open a new
    custom
chromeless window. To do that, you need to use the Javascript
    window.open() method.
You can find thousands of examples in this forum with a
    simple search.
You can also google "window.open" and get thousands more
    examples.

  • Re-sizing the browser window

Ever since I got Firefox 4.0 my browser window won't re-size like it used to. When I go to make the window size smaller I lose the scrolling bar on the right hand side unless I keep the window very wide. I like having smaller window sizes but I can't use it the way it used to be???

If the left is being cut off, then you've designed off the left of the page in Muse Design view. The blue guides indicate the page edge and a margin guide within the page. The zero in the ruler is the left edge of the page.
The page won't be responsive  It will center as long as the browser is wider than the page. Then it will left align (on the zero point on the ruler in Design view).

  • I work with a website where I need to open a flash window to examine the changes that I have made. I cannot use my mouse inside this flash window. Help?

I work on a website where I open a flash window to see how the changes I have made look. When I open the flash window, my mouse no longer works properly - I cannot click into the window - and scroll down to look at it. It also seems to "lock" up the page as I cannot click anywhere sometimes on this page (original or the flash window.) If I click on a different page completely and then go back, it seems to reset (actually sort of blinks) and then I can close the flash window. When I use the touchpad on my laptop, it works fine. When I use internet explorer, it works.

What kind of menu opens if you right click in the Flash area?<br />
Is that the Flash player menu?
You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

  • Flash Player 11.5.502.135 erases the display window periodically

Using Firefox. At intervals of ~10s, the Flash window gets blanked out (filled with its background color) and elements that should be displayed only reappear when they are updated somehow, for instance when their position is moused over. I just updated to this version and regret it already, but Adobe has made it extremely hard to revert to a previous version without uninstalling-reinstalling from scratch, so I hope this problem gets fixed soon. From scanning this forum, this problem looks similar but not quite identical to a previously reported display bug that was supposed to have been fixed a few versions ago.

I'm using Windows 7, and FF 3.5.7. I know it's not the most recent FF version, but the previous version of Flash I was using (before I stupidly allowed it to update, totally my fault) worked just fine with it.
I have currently reverted to Flash 10.3 (as the only currently readily available version of Flash that works for me) but the previous version I had (before the unfortunate 'upgrade' to 11.5) was 11.x (I don't know what x was, and with Adobe's policy of forcing an uninstal-reinstal to switch versions it is now impossible for me to determine it.)
I spotted another recent thread that describes a very similar problem. Frankly, at this point, I don't believe practical help is forthcoming, but you can prove me wrong by pointing me to an installer for previous versions of Flash 11. I'm even willing to run systematic reinstalls going backward in version numbers from the most recent until one actually works, to help you pinpoint the cause of the problem (disclaimer: it would also help me.) Unfortunately, the only source of previous player versions I am currently aware of is the source archives on this site, and it's not useful. But link me to a list of installers by version and I'll do it.

  • When I open a new window in FFox7, how can I make it automatically appear exactly on top of the previous window -- not resized, not shifted, but directly on top?

I used to set Firefox to full screen; but my new monitor is too big to do that. So I sized the Firefox window to the size I want, and I carefully centered it (using a tape measure to get it as close to dead center as possible).
But everytime I open a new window, it appears shifted slightly to the right (I think that's called cascading, but I'm not sure). While some might like this feature, I prefer it open exactly on top of the previous window; and it's a pain to have to shift the new window manually every time I open one.
How do I set Firefox to open new windows right on top of the parent window (and the same size), covering it up completely?
    Thanks,
    Dafydd abHugh

Well, then isn't there some way to induce Firefox to give Windows parameters that make it open the fershlugginer window in the *same* position, instead of an offset position?

  • Flash windows in web page do not print preview or print - works in IE

    Specs:
Win XP Pro, SP3, Laptop and Win 7 Desktop
    FF 3.6.10
    IE8
Latest flash for IE and FF - 10.1.85.3 (previous 10.1 versions also issue)
I routinely use www.speedtest.net and www.speakeasy.net/speedtest to perform speed tests for troubleshooting issues. Both use Flash windows to show the Download/Upload speed test progress and final results.
In IE8, both ''print preview'' and ''print'' work and display/print the contents of the flash windows. In FF, everything displays/prints properly expect the content of the Flash windows - they are blank.
Apologize, as I imagine this has had to be reported in the past as I've seen posts via Google search going back many years, but could not find anything recent in FF help or forum. In addition, I assume this could be a Flash issue. However, if it is, it is not impacting IE. Regardless whether an FF or Adobe issue, I believe that Mozilla should head up and manage the repairs.

If you just need an image of the page (not the browser frame or full desktop), the FireShot extension will do that. I have been using FireShot for some time and am quite happy with the results. I just tested it on www.speedtest.net results on my XP system and it worked. With Fireshot, you can add notations and print or save the image (full screen or just visible area). Do not opt for the paid "Pro" version, just use the free version. If you use it, you may want to block outgoing connection to screenshot-program.com in your firewall; I do not know why it tries to make that contact with it each screen capture, but it works fine with the firewall blocking the outgoing connection.

    Hi Parthipan,
To pop-up/flash your SubVI, you need to keep its code inside a while loop. Then only, it ll be shown [popped-up] cntinuously till the user clicks the OK button after giving the required inputs. Else, it ll only blink for a sec and disappear.
You can go to VI Properties thro' File menu & go to Window Appearance category & remove (uncheck) the options to show Tool bar & Menu bar and some other related stuff. Then, they wont reappear while running.
Try these things out & post back here if you have any further doubt or difficulty.

  • Changing the minimum window size in Calendar

I keep two programs open side by side on one of my "Desktops." They fit next to each other side by side and filled the entire screen. iCal was one of those applications. Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, the default minimum window size appears to be larger than it was in Lion. Now Calendar.app obscures part of the other application on this desktop.
I've searched around on the internet for hours looking for a way to modify the minimum window size to restore the "side by side" configuration, but I have not been able to find anything.
Does anyone have any advice on how to tackle this?
    Don

I just upgraded to mountain lion.  I cannot reduce the size of ical to fit with mail on my 15" macbook pro.  In checking around, the new calendar does not allow us to size the window as we want.  This is a big miss for apple.  we need to be able to size windows as we see fit.  also, in lion, and now mountain lion, we only have the option of the stupid fake-leather looking calendar.  We should have options for this, too.
Please let me know if there is a fix for sizing the ical window as we previously had in lion.  Apple, if you are listening, go for simplicity and flexibility.  Let us decide window sizes, look, and anything else.
    thank you

  • Editing swfobject.js code so hyperlinks inside the flash widget open in a new window

    0down votefavorite
I have a flash calendar widget (code shown directly below) and I do not have access to anything other than the compiled .swf file (no access to .fla).
The widget contains some hyperlinks to other websites, these links are dynamic and changes based on a number of things.
There is also a corresponding swfobject.js file that is used to add functionality to the flash widget. The swfobject.js code is shown further down this post.
Currently, the way the code is now, when I click any of the hyperlinks that are available to me in the widget, the destination website that hyperlink takes me to opens in THE SAME PAGE as the flash widget which is a big problem.
I need to edit the code below so that any hyperlinks that are clicked inside of the flash widget open in a brand new browser window and do not take the user away from the original widget other than opening a new page with new content.
Because the hyperlinks that are available are always changing, the swfobject code below uses some functions and parameters.
I am hoping you can show me exactly what code I must insert, and exactly where I must insert it, in order to alter the behavior that happens so that when a user clicks one of the hyperlinks inside the flash widget, so that the content at the other end of the hyperlink opens in a new window, instead of opening in the same window.
    See code below.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide

In that case, I will have no choice but to decompile the .swf to get the .fla because the original .fla is un-obtainable. Unless there is a way to edit the contents of the .swf file without decompiling it.
I can see the code inside via various decompile tools and it seems that I would need to add the equivalent of <src target=_blank> to some of the lines I have shown below.
obj_xml.load(appurl + "loadconfig.aspx?calendarid=" + calendarid);  -- need to edit this so it opens in a new window using something similar to target = _blank
dest_page = appurl + "default.aspx"; -- need to edit this so it opens in a new window using something similar to target = _blank
I know a lot of decompile tools can get you the code and the .fla but once you edit and re-compile and attempt to replace the original with the new & updated file, the decompiler did not necessarily generate the properly formatted flash pro project file, so compiling it back into an operational .swf often ends in failure.
Do you know or can you recommend a tool that has a very good track record of re-compiling the decompiled modified.fla into a workable and usable .swf?
