Dynpro ABAP with Floorplan Manager in Portal!

Dear Member,
I havenu2019t worked on Portal yet. I worked on Web Dynpro ABAP and know how to do the Component and Application configuration from SE80 in SAP GUI.
Can we able to configure the Web Dynpro ABAP with Floorplan Manager in Portal? If yes, how to Personalize, Configure and Customize the Dynpro ABAP with Floorplan Manager in Portal?
If we have to do it from SE80, then we have to call the application URL with parameter u2018sap-wd-configIDu2019. Where should I update this URL parameter in the portal?
Basically I want to know how to perform Personalization, Configuration and Customization of Web Dynpro ABAP with Floorplan Manager and want to see the effect when customized application called from Portal.
Please let me know, if I need to more clear on my question.
u2026Naddy

Hi Naddy,
If you have configured the component and application configurations in SAP GUI then in order to display it in the portal, you need to create a webdynpro based iView. In the same Iview just fill one of the parameters 'APPLICATION' as name of the webdynpro applicaiton and the parameter 'CONFIGURATION NAME' as name of the application configuration that you create for the Webdynpro application.
Do not forget to implement the required interface of the Floor plan that you are using(OIF, GAF) in your webdynpro component.
Thanks,

  • ECatt - ABAP WebDynpro - Floorplan Manager

Does anyone know how to create eCatt scripts for ABAP WebDynpro applications that contain Application Configurations using the Floorplan Manager.  We are using SRM 7.0 and all user transactions are WebDynpro based. In order to regression test changes to certain development objects we want to utilize eCatt.  However, the WebDynpro applications all use the Floorplan Manager concept in SRM.  So, there is one basic WebDynpro Application Component (FPM_OIF_COMPONENT).  There are multiple WebDynpro Applications defined (in our example, /sapsrm/wda_l_fpm_oif) for this one application component. Within this Application, there are multiple application configurations (in our example /SAPSRM/WDAC_I_FPM_OIF_SC_PROF).
    Does anyone know if:
    A. eCatt supports WebDynpro ABAP (I have seen many old posts that indicate WebDynpro ABAP is not supported but nothing recent)
    B. How to create test scripts using Application components with multiple applications and multiple application configurations.
    Thanks!

Thanks Thomas for your quick reply.
    Thomas Jung wrote:
Testing is done via Web Dynpro Application.  So you would need to create an application (even if just temporary for testing) for each configuration set that has the application configuration built into the application parameters.
    A point of clarification:
Within the WebDynpro Component (FPM_OIF_COMPONENT in my example), I would need to create a new Application and then a new Application Configuration that is an exact copy of the Application configuration used in the standard SAP ?  If yes, that is a significant undertaking for these new SRM applications. Since this Floorplan Manager concept seems to be the wave of the future is there any plan to allow eCatt to use the input of the Application Configuration rather than (or in addition to) the WD Application itself?
Regardless, thanks again, I have been searching for this answer for a few days now.

  • Opening External Window in Web Dynpro ABAP with URL disabled or Hidden

Hi Experts, I have a requirement where-in we want to open the Web Dynpro ABAP application using tcode WDYID (by passing the application name  and startmode), but the URL of the newly opened explorer should be disabled or hidden. To achieve the same, I have created a component (lets name it PARENT) and inside that in DOMODIFY/DOINIT method have written code to invoke the required WDA (lets name it CHILD) in external window (by using lo_window_manager->CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW) and is successfully able to open the application with URL disable using different parameter of method CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW. But in this case there are 2 window which opens, one is for PARENT view and other is for CHILD. Now I only want to keep the second view (CHILD) to be opened and want to close the PARENT view. When I used EXIT_PLUG to close the PARENT window, it closes both the window. Need your inputs on my approach or if you have any. Regards, Harish

    Hi,
If you open the popup, it opens as Modal Window, originating from Parent window. Without external window( where you can pass has_location = abap_false ), you cannot hide the URL/Address bar.
If you want to partially hide the URL( if you dont want to show the full URL with application path), you can create an Alias for the service in SICF.
Go to SICF, and create an alias for your WDA application; say original URL: domain:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/<ZAPPLICATION_NAME>
This URL you can convert( partially hide) as, domain:port/sap/<ANY_NAME>
Refer creating Alias in this help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem320bw/helpdata/en/55/361a3c9c004866e10000000a11402f/content.htm
    Hope this helps u,

  • Web Dynpro ABAP and Case Management

    Hi there!
How do i implement a case management subcomponent in web dynpro ABAP?
For classic GUI this is done by implementing the interface IF_SCMG_SUBCOMPONENT or by making CL_SCMG_SUBCOMPONENT_SP the superclass of your own class. But i don't know how this is going to work for wda.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi  Karim,
Yes there is - try the function modules
    HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_TGTOBJCACHE
    HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_SRCHOBJCACHE
    HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_NAVOBJCACHE
    HRWPC_OADP_DELETE_DATAVWCACHE
Depending on what you want to refresh - you may not need to call all of them.
if you do this in the init of your app you can be sure to get the latest versions of the structure.
However, be aware that it can take some time for the OADP to read and build these structures - which is why they were cached in the first place! Depending on what you are trying to achieve, you may be better off (from a response time) building your own code.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • Web Dynpro ABAP Stylesheet - Portal Integration

We have a Web Dynpro ABAP being displayed through a Portal iView.  The Portal server and the Web Dynpro ABAP server are separate.  Our problem is in getting the Web Dynpro ABAP to use the stylesheet of the Portal.
We can make this work by forcing an external stylesheet (via application parameters, global Dynpro settings, or passed on the end of the URL), but we have to hard-code the full URI of the Portal stylesheet.  This would be very hard to manage if we hard-code every iView's CSS location (or set every individual Web Dynpro's application parameters), and we want instead for the Portal to supply whatever the user's stylesheet is dynamically.
So what we want is: if we change the Portal stylesheet, the Portal would just pass the new stylesheet URI to our ABAP Web Dynpro iViews without manual modification of the iViews.
Here is an example of what works:
    http://our-abap-server.com/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/cprojects?sap-ep-themeroot=https://our-portal-server.com/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.portaldesigndata/themes/portal/ourportalstylesheetname
Shouldn't the Portal iView automatically pass sap-cssurl or sap-ep-themeroot to Web Dynpro ABAP?  We have "Supply Portal Stylesheet" checked on the iView… it just doesn't pass anything to the Web Dynpro ABAP.  Why wouldn't SAP pass this parameter dynamically to the Web Dynpro ABAPs?  Is this a product error?
There seems to be a great deal of confusion about this on the SDN message forums... I think this may be the core issue.
We are using a 7.0 SP13 Portal with an ECC 6.0 SP12 backend.

Now that you mention it, I ran into that exact same issue  -- the application parameters didn't work for hard-coding the theme.  The fix ended up being the web server semicolon thing I mentioned earlier (that was why the parameter didn't make it to the backend).
The themeroot is automatically sent to the backend from the portal, so you shouldn't really have to manually send it as a parameter anyways.
I'd suggest talking to your network guys.  Also this could be the result of the SP you are on (we're on 13 for the portal and the backend system -- maybe this feature doesn't work in some earlier SP's?).  There are also some options to force the theme as a WD application parameter on the backend side, which you could check into.  Details on those are here:
Also you could look at the requests being made by installing HttpAnalyzer in your browser.  You can inspect "post" parameters going from the portal to the backend system.  One of those posts (the first one to the backend system) should contain the parameter sap-cssurl (same kind of thing as sp-ep-themeroot).  This is where our problem turned up as this parameter was not being posted.
Lastly, make sure that your frontend portal and backend portal are in the same domain.  For instance:
    frontend.domain.com
    backend.domain.com
If your backend and frontend are in different domains it messes all kinds of things up, including stylesheets I think.  If you can't get around this, then read about domain relaxing (but I highly recommend getting the domains the same).
    When we started, ours were:
    portal.dx.company.com
    sap.company.com
This created all kinds of problems.  Putting our systems in the same domain with the same protocol and fixing our little semicolon web server problem fixed basically all of our portal complaints.  Up until that time, we had also had many problems with session management (backend sessions were getting stuck until the HTTP timeout).
That's all I know.   Good luck.

  • Web Dynpro ABAP...to Portal

    Hi Friends,
My question is......is it possible whatever I develop in Web Dynpro ABAP to publish it to portal which is on different server with different SID?
    Thanks,
    Rajeev Sharma.

ABAP WebDynpro are developed on WAS which has ABAP stack. Portal typically has j2ee engine (java stack) and you only create iViews pointing to the ABAP WebDynpro. There is no deployment on portal unless you have ABAP stack on your portal server.

  • Portal SSO Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hello,
We have implemented a long time ago, Portal 7.0 SSO and AD and it works perfect.
Now, we implemented the first web dynpro abap, with most users, wda application works fine, but for some users to access the same window will appear loguin.
In SAP, we set the parameters:
    login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
    login / password_change_for_SSO = 0
If the user with the problem, uses another PC, it can access the application normally. We imagine it's some configuration of PC or Internet Explorer.
    Anyone ever happened something similar?
We can help us solve this problem.
    Regards,

We solve the problem by adding an exception proxy.
Portal is accessed by a dns (http://name), the solution we found is to add the exception of proxy (http://name.com) and it works perfect.
    Thank you very much,

  • Portal theme & web dynpro abap popup

    Hi all,
I have a Web Dynpro ABAP application inside the SAP Portal, with WDTHEMEROOT & WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET parameters typed.
Everything is ok, any UI control that I used in the views is formatted according to the Portal Theme.
But right now, I want to launch a popup for a message. I use methods from if_wd_window_manager, like create_popup_to_confirm or create_window, but the popups are showed in a standard style, not the Portal theme (like the rest of the applicaton).
    Anyone knows why??
The same method (create_popup_to_confirm) is used in a WD Java application and gets the Portal theme.
    Thanks!
    Miguel Angel.

    Hi Shanti!
Yes, I did it, but the problem still remains...
The fact is that most of the elements get the portal theme (dropdownbyidx, labels, transparentcontainers, buttons...) but when I call a popup through if_wd_window_manager it appears like the standard look&feel (blue color, etc...). The popups doesn't get the portal theme.
It happens only in WD ABAP, I mean, we have other applications in WD JAVA with the same portal theme & the same popup function, and it works...
The only elements that doesn't get the portal them are the popups!
    Thaks!
    Miguel Angel.

  • Web dynpro Abap not inheriting the Portal theme

    Hi,
My Web Dynpro Abap is not inheriting the Portal theme. My understanding is that for NW2004, EP7, Web Dynpro Abaps would automatically inherit the Portla theme. Is there some coding required or pre-config of some sort that I have missed to allow the Portal theme inheritance?
    thanks

  • Error «The entered value is not on the list of valid values» in the hierarchy of mss web dynpro abap

    Hello Experts
The error «The entered value is not on the list of valid values» in the hierarchy of mss web dynpro abap occurs after manager’s following actions:
    selected detailed Team View ;
    selected hierarchy;
    changed style of the hierarchy to any other (for example, the vertical);
the error occurs after attempting to do any action.
    Our system is EHP7.
If someone faced with this error, please give me advice how can i resolve this problem.

    Hi John,
Sorry for the delay in replying. No, we do not have the same problem if we understand you correctly.
"We have bypassed the MSS Home Page and just embedded the Detailed Team View as a standalone application in our MSS portal role" - we also made for the our customer. BUT we have error «The entered value is not on the list of valid values» in our standard system.

  • Smartform in web dynpro Abap

    Hi,
I'm trying to implement a web dynpro abap with a smartform.
I used the "How to Display a Smartform as PDF document in Web Dynpro for ABAP" document that e can find on sdn.
My problem is that when the form is called, there is  a dump
"Please maintain an output device in your user master data. ".
I copied  the code in a report and the form is displayed.
    Did I miss something?
    Kr
    Karim

This workaround solution for smartForms sends the output to the Spool and then converts the spool to PDF.  For it to work it has to have a printer id for the formatting to the spool. You must maintain a default printer in your user ID or pass in a printer into the output settings of the smartForms function module. Because all of this is occuring in the background, the smartForms function modules can't just popup a dialog asking for a printer.
