DynPro application compiled under SP14 and deployed to SP11 Portal

Hello,
I have accidently compiled and deployed a DynPro application on NWDS client with SP14 to NW Portal with SP11. Now I receive an exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/tc/webdynpro/progmodel/api/IWDEventHandlerId
Is there any way to retreive this jar from the SP11 server and recompile the application with it?

HI Roy,
You question is confusing. In heading you said that "DynPro application compiled under SP14 and deployed to SP11 Portal" and in message you said "application on NWDS client with SP11 to NW Portal with SP11".
If you have compiled application with SP11 then it should be ok. But, if you have compiled with SP14 then it surely gives such error.
You can open your dynpro application in NWDS SP11 and then rebuild it and deploy on the WAS SP11. It will work.

Bhavik

  • Compiling EJB files and Deployment Discriptor

    Hi,
    Could any body tell me step by step process of compiling EJB files and building deployment descriptor. I want to learn from scrap. I search on web but not found material that I need.
    Actually I've made a simple EJB example now I want to compile and want to write a deployment descriptor for that using ant or javac.
    You can also refer me tutorial describing the process form scrap.
    Looking forward,
    Regards,
    Abbasi

    Although you could deploy each bean in a different .jar file , deploying them
    together in an jar file produces a classloader arrangement that allows one ejb
    class to refer to another ejb class. Packaging ejb jar files in a ear file produces
    a common classloader for the ejb jar files.

    Hi,
    To build ejb jar files, we can include all beans (including bean class,
    home,
    inteface, and other java classes) of the application into one jar file.
    Or we
    can make ONE jar file for EACH bean (including only bean class, home
    and interface.
    NOT other dependent classes that will sit in weblogic server classpath).
    I would like to know any disadvantage for second method in terms of memory,
    class
    loading, etc. Or any advantage for the second method

    I am trying to migrate my EJB2.0 application from WLS7 jdk4 to WLS10 jdk5. I compiled my application with jdk5 and WLS10 libraries then I am trying to run weblogic.appc on my application it complains that there is some class missing (see the below exception) .. then i try to deploy the jar without running appc on it.. i am getting another exception.. Please help if i am missing any library that is used by appc. I tried to look into all the jars shipped with WLS10 but unable to find that class..

    Sorry for delayed reply. Actually my problem related to deployment is resolved. There were duplicate entries of the same name in the ejb-jar.xml and it seems that weblogic10 parser is more strict on that. I have successfully build and deployed my application on WL10 at AIX. But i am still having problem to run appc on windows. Its throwing the following exception

  • Why do some computers running Firefox 6.02 only display 5 or 6 applications in the "applications" tab under "options" and others show about 25?

    I am running Firefox 6.0.2 on several computers and on several of them the applications tab under "options" only shows 5 or 6 applications while another shows 20-25 applications including PDF which is what I am interested in. How can I get applications to appear on this menu?
    All of the computers in questions are running Windows XP Pro. On the computer with the limited menu if I attempt to download a PDF copy of my bank statement Mozilla opens the PDF rather than opening it with my PDF program. If I attempt to save the file or print it, Mozilla crashes. On the computer which lists all of the apps on the application tab the PDF opens normally using the program which I have selected for opening that file type.

  • Can Visual Composer applications only be created and deployed on EP?

    We are working with Visual Composer on our Enterprise Portal box and I like it a lot. However, our company is investigating Microsoft Sharepoint as a possible candidate for Portals. This could mean that we are not going to use EP. I would like to know if it is possible to create and deploy Visual Composer applications if we don't have EP installed.
    As VC is dedicated SAP technology I don't think this can work but I want to be be 100 % sure. Maybe there are other ways to run VC in a sharepoint portal that I don't know off?

    Hi Angelique,
    You need the SAP Enterprise Portal to run Visual Composer.
    In the VC you create pages and iviews that need the enterprise portal services to run.
    "... Visual Composer operates on top of the SAP NetWeaver portal, utilizing the portal’s connector-framework interfaces to enable access to a range of data services, including SAP and third-party enterprise systems. • Deploy Dc that compiles under jdk1.5 in NW7.0

    Hi
    In my project a need a library that can be compiled only under jdk1.5. The library is POI 3.6.
    My server however is NW7.0 and runs under JDK 1.4.
    Is it possible to create a DC for the classes I need (POI 3.8) ,  compile it under jdk1.5 and treat it as a used DC in my main DC that runs under JDK 1.4?
    I hope someone understand me...
    Thank you for your advice.

    Hi
    Ok, so another question?
    Is it possible to run a vbs program that resides on the file system of the machine where the server is installed?
    What I want is to call this script from a web dynpro application.
    Thank you and regards

  • Under applications, "mailto" has disappeared and I am unable to send links.

    I recently had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall (among other things) Firefox. Fine. Then I was asked if I wanted to upgrade, which I did. A day or two later, I wanted to e-mail a link to several friends and when I clicked on "send llink" under File, nothing happened. I checked the application option under Tools and discovered that the "mailto" app had disappeared. I have reinstalled Firefox a couple of times with no change. All I really want to know is how I can get the "mailto" app option back.
    I am running Windows Vista, Firefox 3.6.8, Thunderbird 3.1.2 and a large number of add-ons.

  • Need ant script to compile, package, and deploy to Oracle AS 10.3.1

    I have a test app with ADF faces/jsf for front-end and EJB 3.0 Session Facade/Entity beans for back-end. The project structure/layout is similar to the SRDEMO app in JDeveloper. I was able to compile, package, and deploy within JDeveloper 10g to Oracle AS 10g successfully. Is there a sample ant script to compile, package, and deploy to Oracle AS 10g that I can run from command line? The build.xml that came with SRDEMO only do the compilation, not packaging and deployment. I was able to modify the SRDEMO's build.xml to compile my test app though. I still need the script to package and deploy it.

    Hi,
    How are you referring to the class path. I have created my custom build file and I refer like this.
    <path id="classpath">
      <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/lib/aia.jar"/>
      <pathelement location="${oracle.common.home}/modules/org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.jar"/>
    </path> oracle.home is the location where my aia.jar resides.
    In the compile-classes target I have
    <!--Target for Class path details -->
    <target name="compile-classes">
      <mkdir dir="${sca-inf.classes.dir}"/>
      <javac destdir="${sca-inf.classes.dir}"   classpathref="classpath"

  • Web Dynpro application needs to never expire.

    Hi
    I have a Web Dynpro application (NW2004 SP12) that displays spreadsheet like sales data to anyone who walks past the screen in a common area in the office/s. It should therefore run unattended. It refreshes the data on a timer. The data comes from a back-end aRFC. Everything works fine but about every 1.5 days the application times out (session expires) and needs to be re-opened (this seems to be a large administrative problem to re-login at all the deployment sites).
    It gives an error ‘500…application has expired. Please restart with the refresh button…’
    In testing/troubleshooting I used the direct URL to the application running on WAS and not through a Portal iView.
    I also changed the System destination from using SSO to using a dedicated user to the back-end.
    Does anyone have an idea on how to auto refresh a Web Dynpro application or auto-renew the session so that it can run ‘forever’ or a way to re-login automatically?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rick Viljoen

    Hi Isidro
    Yes, this was my final solution. Here is the code for the htm page. It will refresh/reload every 6 hours. Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Rickus
    <html>
    <head></head>
    <body>
    <div id = div1></div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function putIF(hldr,x,y,w,h,url) {
       // Iframe
       holder=document.getElementById(hldr);
       holder.style.position ='absolute';
       holder.style.left=x;
       holder.style.top=y;
       holder.style.width=w;
       IF=document.createElement("iframe");
       IF.setAttribute("height", h);
       IF.setAttribute("width", w);
       IF.setAttribute("src", url);
       if (holder.hasChildNodes()) {
              var oChild=holder.children(0);
              holder.removeChild(oChild);
       holder.appendChild(IF);
       var myDate=new Date();
       window.status="Last reload on: " + myDate;
    function refreshiframe() {
         myWidth = document.body.offsetWidth-21;
         myHeight = document.body.offsetHeight-4;
         putIF("div1","0px","0px",myWidth,myHeight,"http://<server>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/SalesD/SalesD?j_user=xxx&j_password=ppp");
         window.setTimeout(refreshiframe, 21600000);
    refreshiframe();
    </script>

  • SSO to partner application running under IIS

    Hi,
    We have a complete set-up for 9iAS Release2 where some applications are running. In parallell we have an application running under IIS, and would now like to enable the IIS application as a partner application to 9iAS letting the 9iAS SSO server handle the authentication.
    In the documentation of Oracle Proxy Plug-in I read that this proxy plug-in can be used to proxy requests from IIS to Oracle http server (OHS) and also in this way enable SSO.
    My question is if this can be done only for applications running under 9iAS but having IIS as web server, or if it is also possible like in our case to enable SSO via the proxy plug-in to applications runnind under IIS?
    If this is not supported is the only available solution to use the SSO SDK in my IIS application?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rikard

    Here's a DIY answer.
    See Metalink Note 269820.1 which shows you how to use Perl to overwrite the host name in the HTTP header and remove the port number.

  • Web Dynpro application - HTTP or HTTPs

    Hi all,
    when is a web dynpro application called over http and when over https.
    I have a web dynpro application (SICF - Logon Standard - not SSL) but the application is sometimes triggered with HTTPS.
    How can i find this out?
    regards

    So If SSL is configured and installend on your System,
    you can call your wd-application through HTTPS (beside HTTP) as well.
    But if you enable SSL in SICF on the Logon,
    only HTTPS will work, HTTP will not work anymore.

  • How to Debug a BAPI from a Web Dynpro application

    I have a Web Dynpro application calling a BAPI, and I would very much like to see what data the Web Dynpro application is passing into the BAPI, and then debug the BAPI.
    Is there a way to do this? I'm wondering if it is possible to somehow set up the ABAP stack so that on receipt of the BAPI call, it appears on the tRFC queue waiting for execution.
    However it is done, I need a way to step through the BAPI on the ABAP stack.
    BR,
    Tony.

    Hi Anthony,
    The ABAP runtime environment contains various tools that you can use for analysis purposes, such as for debugging source code. All source code written for Web Dynpro applications in ABAP can normally be tested using the debugger.
    To allow it to test other Web Dynpro-specific program entities too, the debugger has been equipped with a special enhancement. In the phase model in the active application, you can typically see the following information at various points in time:
    -The structure of the content of the current controller,
    -The properties of the UI elements in the layout of the current view
    -The currently instantiated component usages
    Starting the Debugger
    The functions for debugging Web Dynpro entities are embedded in the new debugger. You therefore need to have selected the new debugger in your Workbench settings.
    Selecting the New Debugger
    1. In the menu, choose Utilities -> Settings.
    2. A dialog box now appears that contains two nested tab page areas. Choose the “parent” tab page ABAP Editor.
    3. The settings for ABAP Editor always open with the content of the child tab page Editor. Here, select Front End Editor (New).
    4. Now switch to the Debugging tab page in the ABAP Editor settings and select New Debugger.
    5. Save your changes and close the dialog.
    Starting the Debugging Process
    To run an application in debugging mode, you first need to set an external breakpoint in display mode in one of the methods in the component.
    Now start a test run of the application from ABAP Workbench as usual.
    The method in which you set the breakpoint depends on the purpose of the test run. To debug a view, for example, it is best to set the breakpoint in method WDDOMODIFYVIEW. Provided that the context of the view controller is not filled using a supply method, the view is fully instantiated in the phase model at this point in time.
    Selecting the Web Dynpro Tool in the New Debugger
    When you start the application, another session opens automatically for the debugger. If you have not yet saved any personal settings with regard to the layout of the debugger, the Editor tool will now appear on the left, with the Display Variables tool on the right.
    1. Select one of the three desktops in order to reconfigure it for debugging the Web Dynpro application (see Designing Work Areas).
    2. The right-hand edge of the debugger window has a bar of function icons. Choose the Replace Tools icon:
    3. In the next dialog box (New Tool) open the lowest node (Special Tools) and choose Web Dynpro.
    4. Confirm the dialog box.
    On the right of the debugger desktop, you will see that the previous tool has now been replaced by the Web Dynpro debugger. You can save this setting for future debugging activities. To do this, choose Save Layout In the debugger’s general toolbar.
    Thankyou,
    Ramganesh.

  • Compiling for Windows and Java

    Hi All
    This is a deff newbie question. Basically i have a program that will compile in Windows, but if I try and compile it in Linux (CentOS) then I get 48 errors all related to graphics of constructors.
    It was my understanding that Java was meant to be platform independent, or is that just a myth?
    Is there any way that i can resolve this, or find a tool that will show me what wont compile under linux and why?

    I have a
    program that will compile in Windows, but if I try
    and compile it in Linux (CentOS) then I get 48 errors
    all related to graphics of constructors. Difficult to say without the actual compiler messages.
    You may be missing some jar(s) in your classpath.

  • Packaging and Deployment

    I'm moving to a new system. It appears that the Cold Fusion
    Archives feature under Packaging and Deployment of the CF
    Administrator is the appropriate vehicle for this. However, there
    is no entry for Cold Fusion Archives under Packaging and
    Deployment. I'm running MX7, Standard Version. Is this not in the
    Standard Version?
    If so, what's the best path for moving a
    configuration?

    A ColdFusion Archives demo video has been posted here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGrbOJl8RwA
