E)2581279      Assert failed in /modules/streams/flv/TCFLVData.cpp line 1202

In an application where I do a recording from webcam to fms,
sometimes I obtain this error in core.XX.log:
(e)2581279 Assert failed in
/modules/streams/flv/TCFLVData.cpp line 1202 -
when it happens the effect client side is that I try to play
a stream just recorded, and I see a stream of 0 seconds, with the
command: stream.play(nomefile, 0, -1, true);
often when I obtain this error the durantion of the stream
from the media server is very different form the real one recorded.
How could I resolve this situation or work around it?
thanks for your time and all of your suggestions and helps

    Hi,
We're running FMS 3.5.2 r654 on RHEL 5.2 and we're getting tons of errors like this:
    "2009-08-31      10:47:43        11394   (e)2581279      Assert failed in /modules/streams/flv/TCFLVData.cpp line 2033   -"
    Always the same line number.
Can we safely ignore this error? What does it mean?
We're only getting this since 3.5.2. We were running FMS 3.5.1 before, and weren't getting this error, but upgraded to get rid of the occasional "core experienced [x] failures"-crashes.
    Kind regards,
    Pieter Barrezeele

This assert might show up in case the current keyframe has time less than or equal to previous keyframe. Is there a case where it at your end? also, could you please send me full FMS logs @ :[email protected]

  • Running Mozilla Foxfire, we get error message:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Assertion failed. Program File:common\npn_gate.cpp Expression:pPluginShim.

When running Mozilla Foxfire we get the error message listed in question. It asks: For information on how your program can cause assertion failure, see Visual C++ documentation on asserts (Pree retry to debug the application - JLT must be enabled. Then offers "Abort" - "Retry" - "Ignore". I do not know what this is telling me to do. Where is Visual C++ documentation on asserts. What do I need to do to keep from getting this error message?

In the past, this issue was associated with the Flash player's protected mode, and particularly with out-of-date RealPlayer-related add-ons that interacted poorly with Flash 11.3 and higher.
To see whether you are experiencing a Flash-related interaction, try this: temporarily disable "protected mode" as described in this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
If that bypasses the error, check your other add-ons and remove, disable, or update them. Then allow Flash to run in protected mode as designed, restart Firefox, and test again.

Update from dev on this issue:
Looked at the assert, it's because the two versions connecting don't speak quite the same connect message and the newer one has three properties that the old won't send it.  However, there's no indication that it will do anything to the client because of the absence of these as they're only used for RTMFP and the asserts are hamless though annoying.
I am unable to see any client disconnects or playback issues when the assert happens. Are you sure you got them consistently ? As long as there are no client disconnects, I think we are good with the current behavior (except for few extra lines in the logs )
    Thank you !

    Hi,
I looked through this and it seems there is a problem in parsing /proc/meminfo.
Can you please see to it that the file has appropriate permissions and if that is Ok, it would help if you can do a 'cat /proc/meminfo' and post it here.
    Thanks!

  • "Assertion failed" error when executing a simple UCI program

I am using a simple UCI program (tt1.c) with Xmath version 7.0.1 on Sloaris 2.8 that performs the followings:
    - Start Xmath701
    - Sleep 10 Seconds
    - Load a sysbuild model
    - Stop Xmath
I am calling the uci executable using the following command:
    > /usr/local/apps/matrixx-7.0.1/bin/xmath -call tt1 &
In this way everything works fine and the following printouts from the program are produced.
    --------- uci printout ----------
    ## Starting Xmath 701
    ## sleep 10 seconds
    ## load "case_h_cs_ds.xmd";
    ## Stopping Xmath 701
All the processes (tt1, XMATH, xmath_mon, and sysbld) terminate correctly.
The problem occurs if the 10 second wait after starting xmath is omitted:
    - Start Xmath701
    - Load a sysbuild model
    - Stop Xmath
This results to the following printouts:
    --------- uci printout ----------
    ## Starting Xmath 701
    ## load "case_h_cs_ds.xmd";
Assertion failed: file "/vob1/xm/ipc/ipc.cxx", line 420 errno 0.
Note that the last line is not produced by the uci program and the tt1 did not
finish (the printout before stopping xmath "## Stopping Xmath 701" was
    not produced).
A call to the unix "ps -ef" utility shows that none of the related process has been terminated:
    fs085312 27631 20243 0 10:45:29 pts/27 0:00 tt1
    fs085312 27643 1 0 10:45:30 ? 0:00 /usr/local/apps/matrixx-7.0.1/solaris_mx_70.1/xmath/bin/xmath_mon /usr/local/app

    The questions are as follows:
1- What is "Assertion failed: file "/vob1/xm/ipc/ipc.cxx", line 420 errno 0" and why is that produced?
2- Should the UCI program waits for end of sysbld initialization before issuing commands?
3- If the answer to the above question is yes, is there a way to check the termination of sysbld initialization?
Thanks in advance for you help.

I tracked down the problem and it is a race condition between the many processes being started up. A smaller delay should also solve the problem. Or, maybe do something else before the first 'load'. The 'load' command tries to launch systembuild and causes the race condition.

  • XI AF API call failed. Module exception: Java Mapping

    Hi Experts,
I have faced a typical error for one of my interface. The Scenario is SOAP to SOAP and we are performing SOAP Lookup  before sending the data to Target web service. We are using one Java Mapping  'FileIns_lookupLoad.java --- com/fi/' and performing the SOAP Lookup from within the code. In the Lookup Communication channel we are using 'Axis' as message protocol and passing couple of values through Module Key parameters. We have same ESR and ID objects in Development, Quality and Production (as per Version ID and History).
Now the problem is Lookup is failing only in Development but Quality and Production is working fine. I have replaced Quality CC URL with the development WSDL URL, but that worked fine. That means Development Web Service is good. We are getting the below error in Dev:
<SAP:Stack>StreamTransformationException triggered by application mapping program com/fi/FileIns_lookupLoad; Look Up Failed</SAP:Stack>

I have already checked with Basis and as per them JDK and Java versions are identical in Dev, QAS and Prod. It seems something is wrong with 'XI AF API' which we are calling from the channel. If we totally ignore Lookup process and send direct data, it is working fine. Target CC is also using Axis.
    Sequence in CC: afreq ->xireq ->wssec2 ->xires ->afres
For any more information please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Nabendu.

  • ISR_PROCESS_EVENT assert fails

I'm trying to call ISR_PROCESS_EVENT as an RFC, passing in the data for a form, and trying to validate the fields.  To do this i first call ISR_PROCESS_EVENT with mode "CREATE" and get back the fields I need.  So far so good.
Later, I call the same RFC, this time passing in parameters mode = "CREATE" and event = "CHECK".  When calling the RFC this second time i get an assert failed error in the code pasted below.
Is it a requirement that the "check" variation must be called from the same abap session as the initial create call?  I ask this because I've been able to make it work if i write a custom function module which calls first ISR_PROCESS_EVENT CREATE with event space and then immediately call ISR_PROCESS_EVENT CREATE CHECK int he same RFC, but with the same input tables it fails if called separately.  My only working assumption at this point is that it relies on the function to be initialized with CREATE first in the same session, and since I'm doing this via RFC call in two steps, this isn't the case.
    Please help!

    Chris,
I have resolved the issue in our system, so maybe the same resolution will work for you.  The answer is in Note [1440741|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1440741].  In our system we are on HR SP 23, which contains all the code corrections from earlier versions of this Note, but does not contain the manual corrections described (essentially creating the characteristic or data type for ASYNC_BACKGROUND_SAVE).  I just had to set up the characteristic as described and our form now submits just fine.  I found this only by running the ABAP debugger on Method GET_EXTERNAL_DATA_VALUE of Class CL_IM_HRASR00ISR with a breakpoint set on the line "ASSERT sy-subrc EQ 0."  I just stepped through until I saw the return code turn to something other than 0, and made a note that it was looking for a fieldvalue of ASYNC_BACKGROUND_SAVE.  A search of Notes for this fieldvalue turned up 1440741, and that appears to have resolved the problem.  The problem was not so much with the form itself, but with the asynchronous background save in the workflow step.
    Hope this helps you!

If the issue is only 10% of computers then it is not
    Re. "...could be caused by:"
    - previous installation of CR8.5 (or earlier) runtime (how to cleanup it correctly?)
    possibly - see below
    - OS configuration (what we need to ajust?)
probably not - as long as it's the same OS and SPs
    - something missing in our code (but why it works in 90% cases?)
    -no
    - something wrong with CRXI runtime (but we a using latest available MSMs, and again, this works in 90% ...)
    possibly see below.
I would approach the issue by running [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] and comparing the dlls loading on a computer that works and one that "crashes"...
Your second utility is [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] but ProcMon creates large and difficult to read files.
Oh, and get the powers that be to start to consider moving away from this legacy "stuff". Like I said, PE APIs have been gone since version 9 of CR and RDC has been retired in CR XI R2 (11.5). Neither product is supported anymore.

I ran into this exact same problem (on Solaris, JVM 1.4.1). Although I don't know the exact cause, I can tell you what I did to fix it..
Of course, this happens when you try to load a native library (a .so in this case). I ldd'd that .so, and found that it in turn was linked to two other libraries in my control, and some other OS libraries.
When I statically linked either one of my libraries, such that only one of the libraries under my control was still linked dynamically, leaving the OS libaries untouched, then the problem went away. Note that it didn't matter which one I linked statically- as long as one (or both) were static there was no problem.
My guess was that there were some sort of cyclic dependencies with these libraries, but right now I'm happy enough that it works, so I'm not going to try and pursue this further..

  • Lightroom 4 - "assertion Failed" error after install

I recently upgraded from 3.6 to 4.  Previously, I attempted to install Lightoom 4 beta and tried to open a 3.6 catalog.  When it did not work, I simply uninstalled that Lightroom 4 beta.
Now, when I installed Lightroom 4(Upgrade version), installation was uneventful.  However, I cannot open the program without crashing.  The error message is "assertion failed"   Additional detail on the error shows the following.
    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:          APPCRASH
      Application Name:          lightroom.exe
      Application Version:          4.0.0.10
      Application Timestamp:          4f45ddd8
      Fault Module Name:          ntdll.dll
      Fault Module Version:          6.1.7601.17725
      Fault Module Timestamp:          4ec4aa8e
      Exception Code:          c015000f
      Exception Offset:          000000000006fd5c
      OS Version:          6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
      Locale ID:          1033
I assume this has something to do with remnants of my previous Lightroom 4 beta installation(which was subsequently uninstalled prior to full Lightroom 4 installation).  Does anyone know where the catalog resides by default and whether I can fix this problem by deleting/renaming the catalog(if that is what the problem is).
    Thanks

Ok it is fixed now.  Locating the Lightroom 3 catalog file and opening it in Lightroom 4 ( right click and choose program...) prompted me to upgrade the catalog.  This fixed the issue
